Quote:
She knew Seung still didn’t want her to power up and go out, especially on her own, Terry on the other hand supported her powering up though he would prefer her with someone else. Seung had tried to hide her henshin pen, Hyeon had stopped him, and so she had her pen but with the warning that she should always be with someone else.

She knew she should be, she even agreed, but she didn’t know anyone else and she didn’t want to always drag one of her family members out, it made her feel a bit guilty that it was always one, or more, of them that she was bothering to get to go out with her. So it was time, in her mind, to make some friends who were senshi or knights. New people for her to ask to join her and possibly people to be friends with outside of being powered. It would be nice to know other powered people as a civilian.

She was, since she was alone, trying to keep away from places she knew from her family to be busy places for powered people - the city park.

Rather she was heading toward the cities only Buddhist temple. Seung had first powered up here, he’d awakened at the temple. He had told her that a youma had been there and had attacked him when he’d gone in late night to pray. She wanted to see if any youma came around here or if that night had been a fluke, which she hoped it was.

Staring, from where she stood on the sidewalk, at the many steps up to the temple she took one deep breath and started on her way up, holding her skirt up with her hands so she didn’t trip and face plant.

Quote:
Unlike some of his fellow senshi Athene personally had no real patrol route and tended to quite often letting his feet dictate the direction in which to head for on the days when he patrolled alone and whilst this evening was one where he wasn’t alone, his patrol partner - a small and slightly fluffy tabby bobcat with a pale jade star set on his forehead - had been amenable to keeping to the same pattern.

The evening however appeared to be shaping up to be a quiet one and Athene had been contemplating mayhaps breaking the patrol in order to power down and find somewhere to get another hot drink, because the hot chocolate that he had picked up prior to powering up was long finished…

At least he had been contemplating it up until the point where he picked up on the sudden flare of an Order aura.

Quote:
Liryn had picked up on the flare of an Order aura as well, the aura that of a base senshi.

It was the first aura that he had picked up on this evening - if you didn’t count Athene’s aura - and he didn’t.

"We should check that out" he said cheerfully, knowing that Athene would likely be amenable to it because it wasn’t the first time that the two of them had tried to track down Order auras…

And whilst trying to track down auras wasn’t an exact science - this one felt like it was close - well at least relatively so.

Quote:
While they may have sensed her she hadn’t sensed them, she was still a low level senshi and didn’t have that sort of range. So she was unknowing of the two headed towards her. Not to mention the senshi of talismans was busy making her way up the stone steps to the temple.

Used to walking in shorter dresses she had to hold her skirt up so she didn’t trip, she was not about to trip and then explain that to her two older cousins, as her slippered feet made there way up the steps at a somewhat brisk pace. It was a lot of steps but she wasn’t unaccostomed to walking, a lot, or going up lots of steps. She had been known back home to wander around Seoul at night and the habit had continued when her family had moved here, though Seung had all cautioned her about walking about in this city.

Back home the city was safe, at least safer than this city, and she spoke the language fluently and understood what people were saying. Here she didn’t get everything and still made mistakes in her english and butchered the language some. She also wasn’t used to all these odd phrases people used and didn’t always catch onto how someone really meant something they were saying.

Now though she knew that wasn’t the reason behind her elder cousins concerns. She knew the reason reason he used to caution her, and still did, and she understood it. His reasons were legit and the concern was one she now shared. The negaverse and this whole magical thing was not something harmless or light hearted, like one might find in a good manga or in an anime. It was people getting hurt and killed and other things.

She could even, to a point, understand why Seung had tried to keep her from powering up and hide her henshin pen. She had been glad though that others could talk sense into him, like Hyeon and Terry. Though neither of them would be pleased she was out on her own, something they just wouldn’t find out about.

That in mind she continued up the stairs as she started to hum to herself.

Quote:
Whilst the lack of a personal patrol route meant that Athene generally managed to cover most places, this particular part of the city wasn't one that he came to particularly often either powered or unpowered.

His attempts to try and track down the aura had taken him in this particular direction however and so Athene had gone with it.

The quiet of the evening had continued to hold up, the aura of the other senshi being the only other aura that he was picking up on as he made his way down the sidewalk, Liryn trotting next to him.

Quote:
The other aura felt closer now - well at least it felt closer than before - although it wasn't a 'on top of' type of close.

Athene had offered to give him a ride via shoulder but Liryn had cheerfully declined because he was happy enough to trot along next to the dark-haired eternal in their attempts to play 'track the aura'.

Although at least they were being aided in their efforts by the fact that aura seemed to be staying relatively 'in place' - at least for the most part.

Quote:
Since she was climbing stairs to where she was going she was, of course, staying mostly in one small area. Once she reached the top of the stairs she stood there, just under the gate to the temple grounds.

The cool night air blowing at her skirt and tugging at the golden cord about her waist, the talismans there waving back and forth similar to her braids. Looking back, over her shoulder, and down the steps she had just come up she could feel something...something similar but different from her cousins. It didn’t feel bad, like they said chaos would feel. So then what?

Standing there she kept her gaze fixed that way, waiting to see. She could have continued on but she didn’t, too curious about what she felt. She also didn’t want to go back down the steps, just in case.

Quote:
Athene had hesitated slightly at the turn that apparently led towards the Buddhist temple - well at least it did according to the direction sign—

But while Athene vaguely remembered reading somewhere that Destiny City had a Buddhist temple - most likely on a list of the city's different religious institutions or something similar - it wasn't somewhere that he had ever had cause to visit…

And whilst he could sense the aura that he and Liryn were trying to track - it only meant that the aura was in vicinity.

Athene might have turned away if he'd been on his own, might have checked elsewhere…

But he wasn't alone - he was with a tabby furred mauvian—

And said mauvian was in the process of cheerfully trotting towards the temple.

"Hey Liryn wait up" he called as he stepped after, lengthening his stride in order to catch up with the small mauvian.

Quote:
"I think we're really close now" Liryn said cheerfully in answer as the dark-haired eternal caught up to him and then adjusted his pace in order to keep step with him.

"Just a little further I think…"

As it happened, it was a little bit more than 'little' further, but the aura and his certainty that they were both close was enough to spur Liryn on.

It was only after they had slipped into the gates and into the temple grounds proper that his persistence was rewarded however, purplish eyes eventually spotting the figure up on the stairs.

Liryn trotted towards them, a part of him distantly noting that Athene was following him as he continued to his way towards the stairs.

The stairs was his main focus or more specifically the figure - the woman - with the warn aura of a senshi standing on them was his main focus.

"Hello" he called out to her as he got closer, the greeting a cheerful one. "Hope you’re having a good evening.

Quote:
She had only met one guardian cat, and it had been a brief interaction, this wasn’t the same cat but she was sure the cat was the same sort of cat - not normal. It wasn’t bad though, they could talk and that was cute, the senshi thought it was interesting to have talking cats that possessed some magic. This whole thing was interesting though - so much to learn! Her cousins though didn’t know it all, nor did Erebus, so the hunger for knowledge wasn’t sated.

They had told her that getting answers would create more questions, and that didn’t surprise her really. She still wanted to know things though, anything she could find out, tonight wasn’t a night she was looking to learn such things but it seemed opportunity might have just walked right up to her.

Turning fully she knelt down and with one slender hand reached out to pet the cat. “I’m having a good night. You’re well also I hope?” Her accent was heavy, it was impossible to cover up, but her English was good. She studied hard both in school and outside of school, before and after moving here.

“You have a friend with you?” She asked, referring to the other senshi she had sensed, and could see as well. “I don’t know any other senshi.” Just a few knights, her family, not that it was a bad thing. She adored her family and was glad she wasn’t alone in this, that they were there before her and had experience.

Quote:
Liryn gave the dark-haired senshi garbed in purple and white a cheerful cat grin as his paws covered the last bit of distance separating them. "I am" he agreed cheerfully as he answered her question - because whilst the evening whilst quiet had been a pleasant one so far–

And was shaping up to be even more pleasant now that he and Athene had managed to track down the source of the aura..

Because Liryn liked meeting new people.

"And I do" he continued in answer to the senshi’s next question, as he gently butted the against the hand that she stretched out in a not so subtle hint - because he had a not so secret fondness for scritches and if some was on offer then he was certainly not going to turn it down.

He waited until Athene had crossed the last of the separating them before adding "I’m Liryn and the senshi with me is Athene - Athene of Beads."

Quote:
Liryn’s head start meant that he had already managed to reach the senshi whose aura that they had both picked up on before Athene could catch up to him.

He was in time to catch the small tabby bobtail’s introduction, his lips quirking up in a smile that whilst small was genuine as he said quietly "Good evening."

Quote:
Gently petting, and scratching, at the cat she kept her legs closed as she knelt there. Her skirt, long as it was, did an amazing job at covering and hiding everything aside from her slippered feet. It was a bit long for any sort of running or fighting though, and she knew it, but she honestly did like the outfit - it was pretty!

“Hamal...senshi of talismans...I don’t know many others...no other senshi actually.” She said trailing off as she spoke. She wouldn’t mind meeting others, more than just the one standing here with the cat, it would be good to meet others. At least she had her family though, she didn’t know what she would do if not for them.

“I have two cousins...both are knights...one is to marry another knight...his brother too..a knight.” So she wasn’t so clueless but she still didn’t know a lot - still lacked and she knew it. Smiling up at the winged eternal, that she knew about from Venice. He was reluctantly helpful, he was the most against her powering up...the most protective over her.

Quote:
"It’s nice to meet you Hamal" Liryn said, the words coming out in a half purr as her hands continued to gently pet his fur "And you can add two of on to the list of the people that you’ve met."

A purplish eye winked at her as he added "And you can add Athene on to the list of senshi you’ve met."

He purred loudly as her hand found an annoying itch and scritched it before admitting "I don’t know that many knights myself - although Athene knows a fair few. Having family involved sounds pretty neat though." Because at least it meant that Hamal wasn’t completely alone in this.

Quote:
Athene nodded "It’s nice to meet you" he agreed quietly, "And wow that’s quite a coincidence having so many people close to you that are also powered."

Or maybe it wasn’t - because whilst Athene himself didn’t have any family that was powered - he did have friends who had turned out to be powered - like Subamara and Camelot and Tsui–

Tsui…

Thought of the senshi of tigers, brought a familiar sense of melancholy, that Athene forced himself to mentally shake away.

His quiet voice turned rueful at Liryn’s comment "I know some knights, although not quite as many as Liryn is implying."

A few moments passed, a thought occurring to him as Athene added "I’m assuming your cousins probably will have covered stuff - but if you have any questions then either Liryn or myself would be happy to try and answer them to the best of our ability."

Quote:
"And if you have one of those basic models of senshi phones then I’m happy to have a look at it for you" Liryn added "And upgrade it to the latest model."

Because he was great believer in senshi having access to the latest model of senshi phone.

Quote:
“I worry for family...even if they are older.” She couldn’t help but worry, they were her family. Older or not age didn’t mean they were better or would come out of a fight better off than she would. Age was a number and spoke of assumed experience, not guaranteed experience. While she knew one of her older cousins had a good amount of experience she didn’t think the eldest of the three had much at all. Even then...it was still them, and their experience and skill, against other people and their experience and skill.

Suffice to say she had every right to worry, especially with how she looked at things.

“Mmm...maybe. Knights come from long line of knights...at least I was told that...So then wouldn’t it be normal to have multiples in a family?” Though her cousin being set to marry another knight...that wasn’t so common she figured, although she wasn’t surprised. Meeting someone in a similar situation, someone you didn’t need to keep such secrets from, it could led to a good relationship.

“I don’t know a lot about senshi...the basics. I only have knights around me...so some information - anything really...would be nice. I don’t know what to ask...as I don’t know what is there to be known.” While her accent was heavy she made sure to be careful, and mindful, of what she said so it wouldn’t be too hard on the others ears.

“Phone….you mean this?” And she did pull out an older model phone. “There is an upgrade for this?” She questioned, perking up at the idea. The idea of something better was very nice indeed, she liked technology...but who didn’t?

Quote:
"Yes that" purplish eyes glanced at the phone that Hamal pulled out. "That’s the previous version but Ash and ********* came up with a smartphone model which is so much better."

Well at Liryn personally thought it so much better, because the smartphone was so obviously superior to the previous version. "I can upgrade it for you though" he thought about it and then added "At least if you want me too" because whilst Liryn personally thought that every senshi should have access to the most up-to-date model he also knew that some senshi seemed to actually like the old model.

He rather hoped that the Hamal wasn’t one of them as purplish eyes shifted to look at Athene "Athene why don’t you show Hamal your senshi phone."

Quote:
It wasn’t the first time that Liryn had asked him to pull out his senshi phone and Athene’s quirked up in a small smile as he dutifully complied with the tabby mauvian’s request and held out his senshi phone so that Hamal could take a closer look at it as light glinted off the beading that made up the case.

"I can do that" he agreed at Hamal’s request to tell her the basics - at the very least he would try. "And I can also show you the senshi primer has some information on the basics as well as some useful information in general - that is if you want?"

He made the offer a question.

Quote:
“Yes please, an upgrade would be nice.” Anything to make her phone better would be nice, she was all about technology and such. She did wish these phones had some of the abilities that normal cell phones did but they didn’t, a shame really.

“The design...is that up to us or magic?” She asked, glancing over the eternal senshi’s phone. Was it some sort of case, something to buy or make, or did they all look like his?

“Primer?” Questioning but she nodded anyway. “Anything I can learn. I can’t learn some things from knights, as much as I love my family.” And she did, very much so. She wasn’t able to learn everything from them, as much as she wished she could. “I’d like to learn whatever I can about what is going on. This isn’t something I knew about really till moving here and even then it was limited.” Her English was, thankfully, better than her elder cousin Seung’s but her accent was still heavy. Her words were at least understandable and not as broken as his was. She wa sure he had a harder time talking to others, though it was getting better for him.

“I think my cousins would like me knowing others like me - senshi. Different information and more safety. Can’t always be with me.”

Quote:
"Great" Liryn said cheerfully as he waited for Hamal to hand the phone down to him.

"Athene can talk to you about senshi things whilst I work on it." Not that Liryn was planning to leave it all up to Athene, the small mauvian happy to interject as and when needed.

Although first things first...

Normally he would go with performing a backflip, but with limited space Liryn decided to improvise instead, purplish eyes narrowing slightly in concentration until something fell with a slight clatter onto the steps.

He padded down to retrieve it, before finding himself a place that gave him space to work whilst remaining relatively close to the two senshi.

Quote:
"I think it's a mixture between the mauvians and magic personally" Athene said quietly after considering Hamal’s question about the senshi phone for a few moments and whilst he had noticed her accent he didn’t comment on it.

He had one of his own, the accent a cross between the public school education that he had gone through prior to his move to the States from the UK 6 years prior and the West Country - in particular Bristol.

"The mauvians came up with the design of the phone itself and in fact one of the two mauvians who worked on the upgrade was the mauvian who awakened me" for a moment his lips quirked up in a fond half smile before fading, "But this" and at the word this Athene pointed towards the beading that formed the case of the phone "Seems to vary between phone."

Well at least it was his take on things.

"And the primer is a guide of sorts" he held his phone out so that Hamal could see him select an app with what looked like a book. "It was created by a senshi called Kallichore, but there’s been a few senshi and mauvians who have written articles for it."

He hesitated for a few moments as he thought about the best place to start, before deciding to start at the beginning.

"When I first became a senshi, I was told that I needed to protect people’s soul crystals" he said quietly "But I learnt later that it was rather more than that. Unlike knights who are named for and take their power from their Wonders, senshi are named for and take their power from home worlds."

Quote:
Settling her phone onto the ground, trusting it with the talking cat, she did watch for a few moments before turning her focus onto the other senshi. She had seen something appear, from the sky or somewhere, for the cat but she really was hoping to talk to Athene and learn what she could from him.

So then the design wasn’t something she could change at a whim, like with a normal phone - how sad. That was a bit disappointing, as she wouldn’t mind being able to change the phone's appearance when the want to do so hit her. She did tend to change the case for her normal cell phone, and the wallpapers, to match the season or a holiday. Sometimes a favorite idol groups member or a group picture or anything else, if they were having a comeback, she didn’t like it staying the same for too long.

Sadly it didn’t seem like there was a way to change it either.

The mention of the primer though pulled her away from her train of thought, which was heading towards trying to find a way to change these appearances to make her phone look how she wanted when she wanted.

“Ok...that I think I understand. Soul crystals...my cousin said someone tried to take his starseed - is that the same thing?” Or was this something new? Something he hadn’t mentioned to her.

As the wind blew, and tugged at her braids, she brushed her hair from her face while moving to seat herself on the steps, motioning that the other should do the same thing.

Quote:
Liryn had prised off the back of the smartphone that he had summoned and had been in the process of using his claws to delicately prise up the back of the senshi phone that Hamal had given him but at Athene’s comment about the senshi phones his purplish eyes had glanced up and over at the two senshi.

"Well you can always customise the background" he said cheerfully.

Quote:
Athene nodded at the comment "True" he agreed, because he had forgotten that.

His lips quirked up in another of his small smiles as he took Hamal up the offer to sit down on the steps, although the smile faded at the question "Yes soul crystals and starseeds are one and the same" he admitted "I… I didn’t really know a lot when I first started out and so called them that."

And Athene knew that there were still things that he didn’t know that much about - although he knew a lot more than he had done - a lot of it the hard way.

After all he had been a senshi for almost as long as he had lived in the States.

He carefully placed his phone so that it sat between them so that Hamal could page through the primer whilst they talked - at least if the other senshi wanted to.

His lips drew down in a frown at her mention that someone had tried to take her cousin’s starseed.

"I’m sorry" he said, his words quiet but the sentiment behind them genuine - because he knew how awful that was from personal experience.

Personal unwanted experience. "I’m glad that whoever it was didn’t succeed."

Quote:
Her skirt, long as it was, did a good job in covering her legs and what she wore under the skirt. Her slippered feet toed at the steps while she reached out for the other senshis phone in order to glance over things, since it was best to see for herself what would soon be on her own phone for her to use.

“I wonder if knights have something like this…” She hadn’t asked either of her cousins or her cousin in law, though she supposed she really should have. Moving her finger about the screen she glanced back to the talking cat for a moment, to see what was being worked on, before glancing back to the eternal.

“It’s ok...my cousin is fine. It seems there is a lot of risk in this knight and senshi thing….I want to be able to help and keep my cousins safe and my cousin in law. I don’t want them to worry about me so much…” She didn’t want to be the weak spot in the group, she wanted to learn more and be more helpful. She was family and she wanted to keep the others safe...and make some friends along the way.

“Can you tell me, if you know, why this war all started? There has to be a reason...I mean otherwise why would all this be…” Right?

Quote:
"It’s hard to tell" Athene admitted "I’ve been part of all this for six years - Well make that six years give or take..."

A quiet sigh "And the war was already in progress when I got pulled into it, but the mauvian that awakened me told me that I had to protect soul crystals - starseed…"

He paused to pull up the senshi primer and selected the correct article before continuing "However the senshi primer talks about a shared enemy that 'seeks the destruction or enslavement' of everything we hold dear."

He held out the senshi phone to her so that she could better see the relevant section before admitting "But I have also heard talk of a Moon Princess."

Quote:
Liryn listened quietly as he used his claws to prise up a part of what would become Hamal’s former phone, his main focus on delicately lifting it up so that he didn't damage the piece, although he spared a glance towards the two senshi as he admitted solemnly "I wasn’t around for the start of the war either, but Athene told me once that he had seen the Moon Princess."

Quote:
Athene shook his head as he said quietly "Not quite," before continuing on by way of explanation "One of our royals - Princess Polaris - held an Order meeting for senshi and knights to talk over things."

He gazed at his hands as he admitted "It wasn’t very organised - our meetings never are - but the Negaverse and the Dark Mirror Court gate crashed it.. And then when it was really, really bad we got pulled to the Moon by the ghost of the Moon Princess."

He looked up at Hamal, his eyes full of memories as he said quietly "But that was the first and the last time that I ever saw her."

Quote:
“A shared enemy...shared with who? Us and someone else?” She questioned softly, already moving to look over what Athene had pulled up for her to read. Six years though was a long time and it had already been going on then. How long had this city been torn apart by fighting? And why had nothing else, like the government, stepped in? “A Moon princess….” Curious she tilted her head, pigtails moving about like snakes, as she gave the other a curious look. Her gaze then turned back to the phone. “Like the Moon rabbit..in China they say the moon rabbit is with the moon goddess…” Could the goddess be real but instead a princess? It was an idea.

“You saw a princess...but not the moon princess. Polaris….” The name was familiar, she’d heard it before. It took several moments, in which Athene continued to talk, before she remembered where. “My cousin, Venice, said she saved him...from a monster - it would have killed him. So there are other princesses then?” She asked softly.

It seemed magical, all of it, to her - like something from one of the ancient stories told to children when they were growing up. Ohh, she wished she could meet this princess who had saved her cousin...and the Moon Princess also...though she was perhaps only a ghost. Her cousin had mentioned ghosts as well.

“So the moon princess is dead...or maybe she’s been reborn? But if she was a ghost….has her spirit been gone long enough to be reborn...is there a set time one must wait to be reborn?” Or did it differ in amount of time. So many questions and she was sure not enough answers.

Quote:
"The primer doesn’t really go into detail on it" Athene said keeping the senshi phone tilted so that Hamal could continue to see the screen as he continued to scroll through the relevant bits of the primer as he spoke, "But I can’t help but think that ‘shared’ in this case refers to senshi and knights." The rueful note slipped back into his quiet voice as he admitted "Although I don’t know a lot about the knights apart from the fact that like senshi they stand on the side of Order."

Well at least they technically did.

He nodded as Hamal mentioned that Polaris had saved her cousin from a youma "I could see her doing that - Princess Polaris is very kind" he said quietly, with a smile that managed to be in part fond and in part complicated as he admitted "We were team mates once."

And whilst that was a while back, it didn’t stop him from respecting the woman who had once been his team captain.

Quote:
Liryn listened quietly as Athene spoke to Hamal, the dark-haired eternal’s time with the Celestial Shepherds something that had happened and been over before he had found the other.

The part that he had been working on carefully prising up was finally up and Liryn moved the short distance over to the smartphone as he lined the part he had removed from what would become Hamal’s former phone and started to carefully slot it back in, snapping it down and into place.

Quote:
"Yes there are other Order Princesses" Athene said with a nod "In addition to Polaris, there is also Princess Iris, Princess Ganymede and Princess Chronos of the Zodiacs" although of the three he had only seen Princess Chronos once and at a distance.

"There is also an Order Prince - Prince Castor." He paused for a brief moment before continuing "There Dark Mirror Court have Royal Senshi as well and also a Royal Knight of Earth named Camelot."

Another brief pause and then he finished "And the Negaverse have General Sovereigns."

He nodded again at her question about the Moon Queen "I.. I think so" he admitted quietly. "And I don’t know if there’s a set time for one to wait prior to being reborn but I do know that there were past versions of ourselves."

Well make that a past version of themselves - although there was no reason to assume that that was the only past version who had held the role that they now held.

Quote:
That would make sense, the other being knights. Shared...between senshi and knights. She couldn’t help wondering if there was more out there - more people. There couldn’t just be people on Earth which might mean more than knights and senshi - right? But that idea didn’t remain at the forefront, as Athene was still talking.

“I think...I’d like to meet Polaris.” Since she was, as Athene said, very kind and she had saved her elder cousin. It sounded very nice, her cousin had once described Polaris to her, and she couldn’t help but think of something celestial.

“There seem to be a lot of royal people...I wonder how they come to be royal…” And she wondered about what sort of people these royals were. They’d been normal senshi once - right? So could relate to being a low level senshi like herself...and working your way up. So they should be easy to talk to, despite them being royal, right? If so she really did want to meet some of them.

The idea that the other side had something equal wasn’t a surprise - it was a balance of things. But did that mean that somehow they should all learn to live together? In order to keep a balance? That was important...right? Keeping a balance. But it seemed there was a lot of bad going on in the city so right now it seemed the scales were tipped too far towards darkness.

“My cousin mentioned past lives...I wish I knew how my family tree went to allow for me and two knights...Polaris and Ganymede…” She spoke softly. That had to be interesting, it really did. “I wish there was more knowledge out there for us to glean. It seems that knowing more would help us...if only in discovering the past….” Which to some wouldn’t seem important but it was knowledge, it was their past and it was important.

“Seung-hyung said his ancestor was born here...and went to Ganymede…” And she had a feeling her other cousins ancestor would be the same, though she had no proof on this. It was just a feeling.

Quote:
"I’m not sure" Athene admitted. "Iris, Polaris and Castor were all already Royals when I met them as was Chronos" or at least as far as he could remember.

"I knew Ganymede before she became a Royal, but only by extension of the fact that I kind of have an alliance with the Jovians."

Or at least he had had an alliance with the Jovians as they were back then.

His quiet voice turned thoughtful, the thoughtfulness reflected in his expression as he continued "And I knew Remarque, the Dark Mirror Prince, before he came a Royal." At the very least Athene didn’t think that Remarque had been a Prince during their first few meetings.

The thoughtful expression faded as his lips quirked up in slight smile as he added "And I know the feeling about wishing that there was more knowledge out there" because it was something that he’d wished for himself on many an occasion "But whilst I can’t offer you a how to senshi manual" because as far as he knew one didn’t exist, although in a way the primer came closest - a far distant closest "I’d be happy to introduce you to Polaris the next time she’s around."

Quote:
Liryn couldn’t help but give Athene a sharp look at the dark-haired eternal’s admission that he knew the Dark Mirror Prince, because it was the first he was hearing about it–

And whilst he wasn’t he wasn’t upset about it per se, he couldn’t help but feel a little hurt that he was only finding out about it now.

But it seemed to be one of things from the before. One of the many things.

He pushed the back of the smartphone back into place, before flipping it over, turning it on and downloading the two apps under settings "I can introduce you to Snowball" he said as he nudged the new phone towards Hamal "Princess Polaris is his bonded senshi."

And then added cheerfully "And it’s all done by the way - the phone that is."

Quote:
“Jovians…?” She questioned. Never having really looked into anything dealing with planets, having no reason to, she was rather clueless of the term. Seeing as Ganymede, a moon of Jupiter, was nothing like books said it was meant that there was little to glean from books as far as she figured. Books, while normally useful for gaining information, wouldn’t be helpful in learning about other planets and moons. “Liryn...do you perhaps know why people don’t know what’s up on other planets? The wonders I mean….and why there is no mention in ancient history here. They had contact - yes? My cousin mentioned our ancestor was born here...so there should have been records.” That was something which hadn’t made sense when her cousin had first told her about it, but he had no answer for her on the topic.

“Oh! You would introduce us? I’d like that.” She really would like that a lot, it had her smiling and ducking her head a bit. It was a really nice idea to meet the person who had saved her cousin, someone he said looked like various maidens renown for their beauty from various myths and stories.

“Snowball...yes, I’d like that as well. I may have my older cousins and my cousin in law and his brother...but none of them are senshi. I want to learn on my own as well...from other people.” Looking down towards her phone, taking in it’s new appearance, she reached out and picked it up.

“Thank you Liryn.” Bowing her head to the cat, a smile in place. “I appreciate that.”

Quote:
"The Jovians are a group of senshi and knights linked to Jupiter" Athene said quietly, before thinking about it and amending it to "Well at least they mainly were - one of my friends was a Jovian too" there was a trace of sadness in his quiet voice at the admission as for a moment he thought about Tsui. "I’ve met and worked with a few of the group from time to time - and one of the Jovians - Kallichore - wrote the senshi primer."

Quote:
Knowing Athene for as long as he had it had been hard to miss the sadness that coated the eternal’s voice at the indirect mention of Tsui and Liryn hadn’t be able to help padding over to the dark-haired senshi, his head butting gently at the other until Athene gave in with a small smile and started to gently pet him.

Truth be told he missed Tsui too–

And whilst Liryn wasn’t lonely because he had Athene and Ida and all of the friends that he met it…

It just wasn’t the same without the boisterous tiger.

He let his eyes half close as Athene continued to pet him, it clear as the dark-haired eternal continued to speak that the other had been around for awhile, but he had been listening to Hamal speak too and at her question to him he opened his eyes fully.

"I don’t" he admitted, "But I can try asking one of the other mauvians and see if they know more if you want?" Because some of the others had been around for longer than he had. That and there was a chance that maybe Ash would know - because Ash knew a lot of things.

Quote:
Athene continued to pet Liryn "It might be linked into the war" he said quietly "I know that it’s been going for a long time - well at least for longer than I’ve been part of it."

He nodded at Hamal mentioning that she’d like to be introduced to Polaris and added "I can also introduce you to Ida if you want" in part because he wasn’t sure how long it would take for him to get hold of Polaris and in part because he knew that Ida wouldn’t mind.

"She’s one of the nicest people I know and is also our - mine and Liryn’s - flatmate."

Quote:
"She is" Liryn agreed cheerfully, before adding "And I’d be happy to introduce you to Snowball."

He gave Hamal a cat smile as he continued "And I know a few other mauvians and would be happy to introduce you to them as well." He glanced at her new phone as he added "Would you like a quick run through of the apps?"

Quote:
Ohhh...it seemed something was upsetting to the other, but she didn’t know what. But she now knew what the Jovians were, there was something there about them which upset the other, maybe she’d ask Liryn later in private for more information on the Jovians? Kallichore sounded interesting as well…. “Can I get the contact information, perhaps, for Kallichore?” She questioned gently, not wanting to risk overstepping or upsetting the other further.

“Mmm, that would be nice Liryn. I’m just wondering...it seems strange it’s not anywhere noted in history, in any drawings, or records that are written. Plus with all the pictures of space and of mars and of other planets that no wonders or structures have been noticed.” It really made no sense and if someone potentially knew she would like to know as well, it was a wonder really. If there was something keeping them hidden, magic or something, could it somehow be broken? Was it something at risk without them knowing? Or could it just...run out?

“Maybe….it would be good, I think, to know. If something it keeping it from being known...can whatever that is be broken….” She trailed off her whispering soft voice. The idea of it being discovered by scientists...it wasn’t a good thing to think about, it really would be bad if they found proof of people on other planets currently either, if somehow that could be found out.

“I’d like that - a lot. If she doesn’t mind of course. I’d like to meet as many as I can really…and yes please Liryn. I’d like to meet other cats and I’d like a run through on the apps as well, it’s best I know them now than get stuck needing them later on and being clueless.” She wanted to prove herself to her elder cousins, to be prepared and able to help herself. She needed friends for that though, and knowledge.

Quote:
It was perhaps just as well that mind reading wasn’t a talent that Athene could lay claim to, because the dark-haired eternal would have been somewhat flustered if he’d realised that Hamal had picked up on his earlier pensive turn of thought–

Instead his lips quirked up in a small smile at her as he exited to the main screen of the senshi phone "I don’t actually have Kallichore’s information" he admitted quietly as he indicated a blue app with a book-like icon "But this app is the senshi primer that I’ve been showing you bits from and there’s a list of contacts at the end that acts as a directory of sorts which can be used to contact those listed" and Athene was pretty sure that Kallichore’s information was amongst those listed.

Quote:
"True" Liryn agreed when Hamal mentioned that it was strange that there weren’t any records or notes or anything about homeworlds "Although magic might play a part in that."

His purplish eyes looked thoughtful "After all the city authorities aren’t really that effective against the Negaverse brand of chaos or the youma, but Athene has mentioned there being books on the Moon."

Quote:
Athene nodded "Yes I came across what appeared to be some sort of library during one of my trips to the Moon" he admitted "But I wasn’t able to read any of them because I couldn’t read the language they were written in."

Quote:
Liryn opened his eyes fully at Hamal’s mention of wanting to meet Ida "She won’t mind at all" he said cheerfully as he slipped out from under Athene’s hand and padded over the short distance to her.

"And Athene’s already mentioned the senshi primer app to you, but I’ll go through the others..."

He preceded to go through the remaining apps one by one starting with the more standard ones first such as the contacts, messaging and camera apps, before moving on to the gps and Negaverse database apps "...The database is unfortunately super out of date though" he admitted after pointing it out with a paw and paused to see if Hamal had any questions so far.

Quote:
It seemed there was a lot magic could do, more than just the powers senshi and knights had...more than the Negaverse and the dark mirror senshi, both of which she’d heard about from Seung, could do and more than the odd occurrences in the city and going to space. It could hide history and potentially artifacts and more. Or maybe it didn’t hide these things, proof here on Earth of the connections to space, but maybe it had destroyed them. But what was this power and why? Was it sentiant if it was able to find this stuff and do whatever it had done to it?

It seemed that she would find no information on whatever magic did these sorts of things, or what could do this sort of thing, it was some great big unknown. Maybe something had the information, something had to right? But it wouldn’t be so easy to find the location of these answers...that she was certain of.

For now she would focus on the lessons in the use of her phone, which she did, she would start of list of things she wanted to learn once she got home.

It wasn’t until the lessons paused the mentioning of the app being out of date that Hamal was nodding her head gently. “Perhaps it should get an update soon...perhaps something to encourage people to add to it...this, being out of date, isn’t helpful if ranks have changed and information as well.” Especially if it was missing people...people on their side and those on the other side. Shaking her head lightly as she spoke, her voice soft and gentle, she was pleased to know how the apps worked but hoped they could be updated. “I like it though...is anything voice activated? In case the phone is knocked out of a person's hand? So they can tell it to call for help from a distance perhaps?” She questioned then, as the idea hit her rather suddenly.

Quote:
Athene nodded in agreement "The Negaverse database could do with an update" he agreed as he glanced over at Liryn, a thoughtful look on his face as he considered Hamal’s question about whether anything was voice activated.

"Actually I’m not really sure" he admitted. "I mean I know that wasn’t in the previous model of the senshi phones "But I’ve never ever tried."

Quote:
"No the apps aren’t voice activated" Liryn said, continuing "But it’s definitely something that could be looked into."

His purplish eyes looked thoughtful "And the Negaverse database" because maybe it was something that he and some of the other cats could work on - and it would be worth it in the long run - especially something could be pushed out to make it easier for senshi to update said database.

"There is a panic alarm app though that Ash created, it’s the app with the cross, and in addition to the other apps I also downloaded the flashlight app that I created - although I’m not as good as Ash so whilst it does work, it’s also still a work in progress."

Quote:
“It would be a good idea. If someone drops it or it’s knocked away in a fight...it might be good for the flashlight and the panic app to be voice activated so they can get help.” Either in the form of light or putting out the distress call. “I’m not very good with technology...but I could try and help...if you want.” Came the softly spoken offer from the senshi of talismans. She wanted to help, to do something to help others, and this was something which could help others.

“The database I wish I could help with...but I’m afraid I haven’t encountered enough people to be of much help there. But it seems to certainly need an update. Maybe the cats, like yourself Lyrin, can approach various senshi and knights and ask for information? Maybe also a list of senshi and knights with skills in fighting, and other helpful skills, that can teach others?” So those like herself could find people who could help train them, in various skill sets, it wouldn’t be a bad idea...it might make finding training partners easier.

As it was she relied on her family but how many had that? How many gained friends and help quickly? She wasn't sure but she doubted she’d have help, at this point, if it wasn’t for her family being involved. She also wouldn’t know who to go to and would be a sitting duck when out at night….not that she kinda wasn’t already for the most part. But she had backup she could call and she knew some things, though not much.

Looking from the cat to Athene, hoping for some form of approval for her ideas from either of them, the dark eyed senshi was hoping her ideas weren’t too much and that she wasn’t out of place by suggesting such things. She just wanted to help and there wasn’t much she could really help with...so she was trying in her own ways.

Quote:
Athene nodded at Hamal’s suggestions around the two apps, because having some sort of hands free functionality would be useful, particularly for something like the panic alarm app.

His eyes shifted to glance at Liryn, but the small mauvian’s attention was on Hamal.

Quote:
"I’ll definitely speak to Ash about it" Liryn agreed cheerfully, because whilst he wasn’t a technological slouch, he also wasn’t as good as the burmilla–

And whilst he’d been putting it off he kind of needed to ask her about his flashlight app anyway - well okay more like see if she would mind taking a look at it given that he was still having problems getting the light to act like a flashlight beam with the app instead lighting up the phone screen.

"But I don’t think it would really be a real problem" because his cat communicator was voice activated - and the cat comms didn’t have nearly as much functions as the senshi phones "And I can ask about the database too whilst I’m at it - maybe find out who is in charge of doing the updates."

Quote:
Athene glanced back at Hamal at her question about senshi with skills to teach others "That’s a useful suggestion as well" he agreed quietly. "The senshi primer has a small section" he turned to the relevant section as he spoke before holding out his phone so that she could see and a glance through would show his name on the list, along with a small list of other senshi who could be contacted "But it’s something that probably could be expanded on."

Quote:
“That would be good. I think both would be helpful for everyone.” It seemed a database was something which could help everyone, a way to keep track of those they were against. Skills noticed, a change in personality or rank, weapon changes. Not just new people, though especially new people, would benefit from it. And hands free voice recognition was just a need as far as she could figure it.

She was just glad her ideas were being head and appreciated, that they’d be looked into, as a new senshi herself she would love a database. It might have more than she could find out from her cousin and cousin-in-law, or just different things. She could even add to it, with their help.

“Mmm, that would be good as well.” Looking over what Athene was showing her. It seemed people were perhaps forgetting, or just slouching, on these databases when really they should be kept up with. They were important, did people just not see it like she did?

“Mmm, you think we should perhaps get moving? I think I remember my cousin mentioning that staying in one place for too long not being a good idea.” And it did make sense to her why that was.

Quote:
Liryn looked from one to the other "I can block your auras if you want to stay and chat for a little longer" he offered - because whilst he couldn’t do it for long a little more time was still a little more time.

Quote:
Athene shook his head at the small mauvian because whilst he appreciated the offer he had known Liryn for long enough to know that blocking auras was something that was tiring.

"I appreciate the offer" he said "But it was probably time that we get moving anyway. He glanced at Hamal before adding "Your cousin is right about staying in one place - because whilst we can use auras to track others it’s something of a two-edged sword because our auras can also be used to track us."

He continued "Mauvians have the ability to temporarily block auras - which is how we can meet up as a group on the occasions where there’s been group meetings."

He gave Liryn a look as he added "But what Liryn didn’t mention is that it’s also something that is tiring for the mauvian to do - at least on their own."

Quote:
She would have, and perhaps was about to, accept the offer from the cat. Though she did think that they should still move, even if he continued to block their auras. She wasn’t expecting the bit of information from the eternal though.

“Oh! And he’s been blocking our auras already.” She said glancing from the eternal and to the cat. “You shouldn’t tire yourself out for us, that is incredibly kind to do but if it tires you out you don’t need to continue for so long. You should go home and rest.” She spoke gently, reaching out to pet the cat gently.

“I should head home as well. We can meet again now.” Since she had an upgraded phone and the others contact information. She could now talk to someone other than her family members about the whole senshi thing, since they were all knights anyway, and she could learn more and have help...that wasn’t family.

“Yes, we should meet up again but you should go home and rest Liryn and I should head home anyway. I’m sure you could use the sleep as well Athene.”

Moving to stand in front of them both she did bow, rather low in fact, “Thank you both for tonight. You’ve both helped me a lot. I appreciate it all.”

Quote:
Athene gave Liryn another look because whilst he was pretty sure that the small mauvian hadn't been blocking their auras earlier, it was just like Liryn to make the suggestion and then jump the gun and go ahead and do so anyway.

"Yes we should probably get home, but it's been lovely meeting you" another small smile "And there's no need to thank me - I'm glad that I've been of some help."

Quote:
"Same" Liryn said cheerfully, although there was a note of tiredness that hadn't been there earlier, "And feel free to call either of us any time."

Because he had made sure that Hamal had both his and Athene's contacts for just that purpose.
