For a while there Phoebe had been holding onto consciousness by mere threads, and frayed ones at that. She didn't want to black out completely in the midst of a giant fight, and sure as hell not with the one who'd cleaned her clock still there, still close. Not that there was actually anything she could have done to stop the corrupted senshi if she'd wanted to do worst... Things to fixate on later, when she was actually capable of thinking past the pain and the fear that seemed to be dominating what little awareness she had left. She knew she'd been moved, but not where or by who. Another voice was close, but it wasn't familiar(and why should it be? Phoebe didn't know anyone yet.). A moment or two passed, or at least that's what it felt like to her, and then she thought she smelled smoke. Shouts and pounding foot falls supported the assumptions, and Phoebe found herself scooped up for a second time and carried out of the building smoke and into the fresher, cool late summer air. And there she began to lose the fight. Sounds faded, pain faded, and Phoebe understood now why Altias had dropped his magic in front of her. He hadn't had a choice. And neither did she. As the page carried her away from the danger the magic that made her sailor Phoebe folded away and in his arms there was just Jack. The shy, easily flustered girl he'd met in the park.

There was...a lot to process, even without considering Phoebe. For one, he had managed a mid-battle date, like he had only seen in the movies. For another, and more importantly, he had just found out that Encke's sister was also a sailor. Only in passing, mind you, only because he had chanced a glance and seen the girl cling to her brother as she passed out, but that was enough.
Aaaand now, in his arms, was the photographer who couldn't stop blushing. Jesus, what was in the water here?
Wincing as he moved, Brendan pulled them away from the scene of chaos, upwind of the billowing smoke, and powered down. He had no delusions that he was a better medic than any other emergency assistant, so he hadn't taken her far. Just enough to conceal them for the moment, until he caught his breath. And figured out how to snap someone awake again.
"Hmm. If I was a perv, I'd go for the wake up kiss," he mused aloud as he gently set Phoebe down. They were crouched behind some dumpsters, a short turn away from hitting The Autumn. "Cold water? Yeah, I'd love some, but none here." Besides the fire truck he could hear screeching closer.
God, and that cat girl had really scratched him up too. He could feel a few of the cuts were still open and trickling blood. He attempted to mop it up with his shirt. "Guess I'll be a gentleman and wait for you," he sighed.

Being aware enough to hear what was going on around her but not enough to be able to actually open her eyes was a little alarming, and Jack could feel the first stirrings of a panic attack building, bubbling up just beneath the surface. But that, apparently, was what it took to craw her way back to full consciousness. Small hands reached for the arms that had been holding her a moment before, and bright eyes snapped open, searching frantically around her before landing on Brendan and lingering there. There was initial relief at seeing a face she recognized(however brief their conversation had been), and then confusion, because what the heck was he doing here of all places. "Br-Brendan?" He hadn't been in the theater, had he? Oh God.She sat up, then immediately regretted it as her head swam and her vision ran black. For just a second she thought she was going to pass out again, and even started slumping forward before catching herself on her hands. How badly am I hurt? How hard had that other senshi hit her? When her vision cleared again she lifted her head to look at Brendan worriedly, the blood on his arms. "You're bleeding, are you alright?"

He issued a second sigh of relief when she woke up. One problem solved at least. "Hey, girl~ Don't mind me, these're just scratches," Brendan replied flippantly, because they were. He hadn't gotten much in the way of damage, definitely not when compared to people like Phoebe and Cybele. "Take it easy right now, okay? You took a beating back there."
He took another look over his shoulder just to be sure they were alone, then turned back to her.
"Everyone's leaving, if you're worried," he continued. "Fire department's here and everything."

The worried look on dark features lingered despite his reassurances that he was fine, because regardless of the severity, he'd still somehow gotten hurt. It sounded very much like he'd been in the thick of it, how else would he have seen her get thrashed or gotten her out of there before the building came down on her. Sunset colored eyes flicked over his shoulders at the glow of lights from the emergency vehicles that had gathered, then back to him. "You were there?" Her frown deepened, head beginning to pound. "I didn't... Are you sure you're okay?" It was right about then she realized she was in her normal clothing, that the magic that made he sailor Phoebe had folded away, and a fresh wave of anxiety rolled in. Biting her lip, she groped around her for her henshin pen, and when she found it she clutched it in her lap, flicking her eyes up to him. "You pulled me out of the fire." It wasn't a question. "Was I, I mean. Did you happen to see me...change?" She wasn't really sure how else to put it, and wasn't sure she should even be asking. But she'd definitely been Phoebe when she'd hit that door, and at least a little while after that.

"I'm fine, seriously." Brendan dabbed at some of the scratches on his arm with a wince. "I got there late, but yeah. Saw the battle. Had a furry scratch me up, as you can see. Yanked you and a kid out before the place collapsed." (Barely fought, still got most of his a** kicked.)
Glancing at the pen, he decided to have a moment of "show me mine and I'll show you yours" and held his hand out, showing Phoebe his ring.
"Small world, huh," he said airily. "I won't tell if you won't, magical girl."

Dark brows creased as she looked at the ring she flashed him, not really understanding the significance of it before all the pieces clicked into place and she thought back to the fight itself and what she could remember of it. There had been another senshi, and a page, the latter had been attacked by a guardian cat hell bent on removing his skin. Which could definitely explain the scratches on his arms. Senshis had henshi pens, so pages must have rings. She looked up at him again as he called her a magical girl, lips tugging on one side in a crooked little half smile. "You're the page I was fighting near, the one that looked like a nomad." Had she gotten his name? She didn't think so. Small world indeed, but Jack couldn't say she was really all that surprised, to be honest. From what Faust and Fiona had told her, Destiny City was teeming with folks leading double lives. Anyone she met out and about could be a player in this covert war. "How, uh. How long have you been...?" She hadn't been upright long enough to have seen how he was handling things. Once that Corrupted senshi had found her, all her attention had been on her, and only for about three minutes before she'd been knocked out.

“Yeah, Aladdin Lite,” Brendan said, grinning. “Alhambra. As for how long, uh. That’s a weird one to answer. About a year or two, ish.” He turned the ring idly, tossing another look towards the sirens. “Since you’re awake and normal now, you want me to bring you to the EMTs?” he asked. Brendan knew basics like a field dressing, but this was a bit beyond him. “Or you okay to get up?”

The comparison pulled a soft chuckle from the girl but it fizzled out pretty quickly as Jack winced, drawing breath through her teeth as she reached up to lay a hand against the side of her head. It hurt, like a low key ache that pounded faintly along with her pulse, but getting stronger, and spiking with the laugh. His question had her glancing towards the flashing lights and she sighed. "Yeah probably." She saw a trip to the emergency room in her future, but wasn't looking forward to the bill that'd follow a ride in an ambulance. Maybe they'd just direct her there, trust that she could find a ride... Now, whether or not she could get up was another question altogether, and Jack wasn't sure she had a solid answer for him. "I don't know, but we can try it." Surely he'd catch her if she blacked out. She hoped.
