[TW for minor description of animal death]
Kumoma was hiding again, which was boring, and Phobos was not having any of it. So what if his lusus wanted to stay in all day? He had better things to do. Like patrol the perimeter of his "territory" for any successful catches in his traps - which was what he was doing at the moment. Most of them were untouched, probably put into the wrong places but he hadn't gotten around to moving them.
His latest find though... this one had a rabbit in it. A large one, at that. He'd have to drag it back to his hive. Phobos took a moment to admire the way it looked - strangled in a mess of strings, its face still looked panicked and its fur was stained red where it had been struggling against the restraints. He grinned - it was beautiful, really. And good that he didn't care much about the fur - he was after the bones. He pulled a knife out of the pouch on his leg and began to cut away the strings - this trap would have to be completely reassembled.

It was rare that Gusept got a chance to explore the woods unsupervised. Sereem had always cautioned him on the dangers of rebels and getting caught in a hunt and all kinds of other dangers, but he had always paid them no heed. What was the worst that could be out there, after all? Nothing he couldn't handle, or at worst, escape from. Currently, he was occupying himself trying to find a path from the branches of one tree to another, without climbing down to the ground. He'd been moderately successful, but in the process he saw something much more interesting. Someone working on...something. He couldn't quite see what it was, but he intended to find out. Slowly, Gusept lowered himself down until he could hang off a lower-hanging branch, behind the other blueblood and watching him work.

A little more cutting here and... voila! The rabbit carcass came free of the trap, dropping to the forest floor with a lifeless thunk. Well- now he had to get it back to his hive, and... do something about the damaged trap. Hm. He couldn't carry them both, the rabbit was too big to make it easy. He could come back for the trap, he supposed. He put the knife away back into the bag on his leg, then leaned over to grab some of the rope still tied around the rabbit.
He froze once righted again- feeling as though something was watching him. Having spent a good deal of time wandering the forest both with and without Kumoma's supervision, he'd gotten pretty good at being aware of his surroundings even when it didn't seem like he was paying attention. Frowning, he looked around, eyes scanning the underbrush for any signs of animals.
Seeing nothing, he heaved the rabbit up over a shoulder, then turned to head back to his hive. "I know you're out there somewhere." He commented loud enough for whatever it was watching him to hear - silence just encouraged hunters, after all.

Some more action from the mysterious troll down below, enough to prompt him to drop a bit lower so he could get a better look. Some kind of rabbit by the looks of it. It was kinda gross. With a soft thump he would drop to the ground from a safe distance, still behind the other troll. He'd definitely been noticed, but staying unnoticed wasn't exactly Gusept's intent to start with. "Then why didn't you look up? Are you hunting?"

He paused, hearing a thump some distance behind him. Turning, he spotted the other troll. Around his own age, blue. Good, good, he liked dealing with his own kind more than the other castes. "Didn't have to, you came out on your own." He grinned, eyes narrowing as it spread across his face. "You could call it that... Are you pretending to be a monkey?" Pho nodded his head up toward the tree he assumed the other boy had come out of.
He didn't see a lusus with the other kid, but that didn't really mean anything. It could just be lagging behind, or something. Or maybe it was one of the small but deadly types. Either way, he could very well be at a disadvantage and Phobos was not exactly a fan of that, even if he did like other blues. "You live around here?"

Gusept would also size up the mysterious troll now that they were able to do so. He looked to be some shade of blue like himself, which was already a good sign. No reason for someone like him to be one of those "super scary rebels", and blues in general were great. He was one, after all. "Yeah but only cause you didn't see me."Gusept shrugged, looking back up at the trees he'd been climbing in. "I wasn't pretending to be a monkey, but I like climbing the trees. It's fun. You should try it sometime." He doubted his lusus would be able to sneak up on the two of them, but even without her, he carried himself confidently. "Yeah, here in the forest. Way back that way." Gusept waved a hand vaguely behind himself, as if that answered all he needed to say on the matter. "What about you? Or are you just some weirdo who's out hunting instead of going to a grocery store?"

"Never said I didn't." He shrugged with his free shoulder. He hadn't been to that part of the forest - well, he assumed he hadn't - that the other boy waved at which would explain why he didn't know someone else lived out this way. But, hey, a sort of neighbor could be a welcome change. Someone to mess around with, potentially.
"Pfft, as if." He snorted, scrunching his nose in distaste for those too poor to reliably shop at a store like civilized trolls. "I live around here. This is mine, though." He shifted the rabbit once more, "it's just for fun. You should watch it though, I have a lot of traps around here." How exciting would it be to find an actual troll in one? A flutter started up in his chest at the mere thought of it.
"Phobos. What's your name?"

At the mention of traps, Gusept would immediately start to check around his feet for anything that might be construed as a trap. Just because he couldn't see any ropes or comically large beartraps didn't mean they weren't potentially there. "I don't think I've been this far out in the forest before. Didn't even know that many people lived outside of the city other than me. My name's Gusept."

His grin grew as Gusept began to look around the area. What a nice reaction that was. "No one else this way, that I've found." He shook his head. Most living trolls that seemed to make it deeper into the forest where his hive was were on their way to death, anyway. "Gusept... I'll remember that." He shifted the rabbit a little on his shoulder - it was starting to get a bit stiff. "I have to get this thing cut open so I should get back to my hive... but maybe we'll run into each other again if you come out this far." He pointed to the broken trap, "I still have to fix that one."

He didn't like the way that grin looked. That wasn't even a "funny prank" grin, it was creepier than that. "Eh, that's not a bad thing. It's kinda nice not having to deal with neighbors. Even the hunts barely seem to go my way most nights." He replied with a shrug. "Have fun with that, I guess. Try not to lose a hand." He did have a point. Sereem was probably ready to freak once she realized how far out he'd gone tonight. "I'll try and remember you too, Pho."
