Northspring Queen - The rank held by Edana Hatetalon, earned through challenging leaders of other flocks in the Northspring area, to assure her reign.
Northspring Elite - Sisters from the original Hatetalon Flock. The more elite harpies tend to be masters of several different ranks and ruthless fighters. It is not impossible for non-Hatetalons to achieve this rank, but no one has done so yet.
Northspring Captain - The higher guard responsible for tactics of war, and maintaining safety in the ranks. .
Nothspring Walkerwards - These warriors are specially trained in handling and capturing the most dangerous individuals alive and watching over the Bloodslash Arena and any Skinwalkers or dangerous enemy females within, as well as joining raiding parties used to strike and gather supplies from enemy territories such as the Flock, which includes goods such as stallions for breeding and even Flock mares for pitting in the arena.
They wear heavily spiked armor and protective masks when working.
Northspring Roguefeather - Roguefeathers are masters of stealth. They stay out of sight to the enemy, striking blows before the enemy is aware of their presence. These harpies carry scavenged tools and weapons and use them to attack with. Most are also very cunning and can use persuasion with ease.
Northspring Slayer - They strike head-on, talons bared. These harpies enrage and will attack with a berserker style, not stopping till the fight is over. The Slayer rank is responsible for hunting and bringing food to the flock.
Northspring Windcaller - The sirens of the flock. They stick to the treetops and mountainous rocks, swiftly alerting the other harpies of any nearby unsuspecting company. Their very wail can pierce the ears of the enemy.
Northspring Hide-Flayer - Very skilled skinners, that collect various animal hides to be used for survival needs.
Northspring Skin-Stretcher - The leatherworkers of the herd. They are talented at using collected skins to bend and stretch into various uses. Some are dual trained as Drum Makers or Hide Flayers.
Northspring Drum Maker - What the name says. A very important role. They are skilled in the perfection of making drums with animal hides. These drums are used for ritualistic and entertainment purposes. It is a delicate and fine art. Some take pride in painting theirs or fashioning them with prized feathers.
Northspring Shaman - A colorful bunch. Shamans love their bones and the Earth around them. They can be seen carrying staffs with boneheads at times and feel very in tune with the elements around them. They use drums and chants to cast spells and wards over the lands. Shamans are also very skilled in making offerings to the elements around them. If they need rain, the shamans will do a rain ritual, complete with chants, drums, and dance. This is just one example of their talents.
Nothspring Witchdoctor - Normally followed closely by the Shamans of the group. Both work with each other. Witchdoctors use herbs and exotics to keep the herd guarded and healthy. Some practice voodoo in addition to the craft. ((Keep in mind, only modern day potions may be used. Soquili have no physical power. So no Flame Balls of Doom! Think hexes, herbal remedies, poisons, sleeping potions, etc.))
Northspring Seer: A group who practice simple folk magic and try to predict the future through various means such as predicting the weather, studying changes in the environment, dreams, reading bones, entrails, etc Commonly, twins become seers due to the strong bond they share, that allows them to work together to use their gift.
Northspring Blacksmith: Those with the skill to bend metal to their will to make armor, tools, or other metalworks. Vital for crafting walkerwards armor and weapons of war.
Northspring Sister: A blanket term for those that fall in the "other" category, and don't feel they fit any of the other ranks.
Gladiators: Gladiators are the only relatively permanent males of the northspring harpies, but even then they can be fleeting: while they are not killed for not maintaining a particular ratio of females, these males, either born and raised into it from mares who offered them up in hopes of them being selected or captured from outside stallions with flashy looks and impressive traits for combat, live in the Bloodslash arena's "Zoo" and tend to eventually have their lives cut short in the arena by either a skilled prisoner they got pitted against or another gladiator. Many fights among gladiators are not to the death but, depending on audience feelings, a loser may be executed as part of the spectacle.
