Hypatia still wasn’t entirely convinced that joining up with the knight Gevuadan was a great idea…but it would hopefully prove informative either way. Therefore, she made her way to the pier as they’d agreed. The weather was pleasant enough—that was good. Even with her water affinity, the rain was awful for going about in.

She soon found that Gevaudan had beat her there and was waiting. She’d half expected him to not turn up, but supposed that the prospect of someone around to fix random injuries was probably too good a deal to pass up for someone as…apparently bloodthirsty as he.

Whatever the case, she approached and greeted him with a small nod. “Good evening,” she said evenly, her standard pleasantly-social smile creeping on to her face.

She nodded at his plan, keeping a similarly neutral expression. It was perhaps lucky that she already knew what a Wraith was. "Alright," she agreed, following. "So if it's a wraith, follow it back to its master, I suppose?"

She figured it went without saying what to do about a Youma, so didn't bring that up.

“No,” she responded, shaking her head. “I’ve really only encountered them once...though I did end up finding the Mirror guy controlling them.” She shrugged noncomittally at that, “And he was definitely a more powerful senshi than me. We...actually only just talked for a bit. That’s honestly how I know anything about them outside of what’s written in our database.”

“Not a whole lot, honestly,” Hypatia replied while making her senshi phone appear in her hand again. She glanced at it. “Just that they can toss people into mirrors to corrupt, and honestly that’s about it. Who ever was maintaining this hasn’t been.” With a dismissive gesture, the phone vanished again.

“I spoke with the Mirror guy on a roof—no mirrors nearby. And talking is the first step to purifying anyway, isn’t it? Though, I admit I don’t know much about that…”

She shook her head, then continued. “Anyway. He told me about his wraiths some, and that the energy they collected are what let them power up.” She considered, glancing off to the side, but keeping up with Gev all the same. “I think he also said their original leader…Hermes? No, Ares. Disappeared some time ago, and their current leaders are…” she paused again, “Leto and…Remark? Something like that. And that they don’t agree with each other about how things are done.”



As they approached the energy signature, she joined him in looking at the thing. Youma always looked so strange… “Well,” she responded with a shrug, “We can still dust it before it attacks someone. C’mon, let’s do it.” She gestured toward it, and started to move that way, but didn’t charge immediately.

"Oh, you know," Hypatia said, considering various Courts. "Ptolemy mentioned them. Though, he said Blood Moon Court is the Dark Mirror Court. Or, at least, the original ones. But you're right. Not a whole lot of information there."

Hot topic got a snerk from her. "To be fair, half these people look like they were playing Survivor: Hot Topic."




As he sat on a car, Hypatia stopped and stared at him, surprised. "What? Why not? They're very likely to kill people if they're not dealt with. I hear dusting them doesn't really kill them, anyway...but I haven't seen the same one twice...I think."

“Sure, they used to be human,” Hypatia acknowledged with a small nod, and a bit of a chagrined expression. “My info says they might’ve been negaverse agents. Even still, I’d fix them if I could, but…” she trailed off on that point.





“My goodness, aren’t you just the most caring of ‘heroes’ around?” she responded sarcastically to his…impressive display of theoretical empathy for others. He may have had a point, though, if it’s just there…why waste the energy, or the risk of attention from more powerful forces?”

“You know,” she admitted, rubbing her chin briefly. “I haven’t watched them much. At least, not for very long.” She glanced in the direction of the Youma in question—there wasn’t anyone in imminent danger. “What's interesting about them?" She moved to stand near the car Gev had perched on, and looked directly at the creature. Not the weirdest of combinations, but still odd. And she could swear it flicked a snake tongue in the air.

“Entire towns?” Hypatia asked, eyebrows raised and clearly a bit surprised by that. “Where? How?” She looked back at the creature, watching it…search. “Do they make them, somehow?”

“I sort of feel bad for them. They can’t really help being…scary, lifeforce-eating monsters, after all,” she said softly.
