Heya, how’s it goin’? Name’s Nizhoni Larsson, but Zoey is just fine by me. I go by other nicknames too, but those are friend/family exclusive, so unless ya’ve earned the privilege just Zoey will do. I’m a fairly still young woman of thirty-six years (yes, that’s still young as far as I’m concerned so shut yer mouth), and my birthday is the 15th of December. If I had to describe how I look, I’d say I’ve got reddish brown hair that usually pulled into a ponytail and slightly tanned skin, at least noticeable enough that I ain’t pale n’ pasty. My eyes are hazel, though they could possibly also pass for deep amber. It’s all just a matter of the lightin’, methinks. I’m roughly six foot two and weigh about one hundred sixty eight pounds, and it’s pretty much mostly muscle too! I’d probably be considered fairly fightin’ fit, if I had to say so myself. I’ve got a stylized tattoo of a thunderbird across the span of my upper back between the shoulder blades, and a celtic knot on my upper right arm. I also wear a bell bracelet on my right arm. It’s a personal thing, and not somethin’ you oughta be stickin’ yer nose in. If you’re a close friend and I feel I can trust ya with pretty personal info, then sure, I’ll share. Otherwise, it ain’t anythin’ ya need to worry about unless ya wanna get yer face bounced off the wall. If we’re talkin’ about the ‘more than friends’ kind of stuff, I’m admittedly bisexual, though I tend to lean more towards a stronger preference for women. I ain’t particularly lookin’ for any sort of romantic relationship right now, but I could possibly consider it somewhere down the line. We’ll see…

Personality:
As far as personality goes, a lot of people describe me as someone who’s seen a lot of hardship in their lifetime, worn, bedraggled, very rough around the edges, the whole 'been there, done that, got the scars to prove it' spiel… though to be fair, it ain’t that far from the truth. Around folks I don’t know even a lick about, I can be a little aloof and maybe a bit abrasive at first. But don’t take my roughness as cruelty, I’m always willin’ to give folks the benefit of the doubt when it counts, and first impressions tend to be a ’make or break’ sorta deal with me. If yer at least someone who seems pleasant enough to share the same room with for a long period of time, then we’ll be more than alright. I’m actually pretty carin’ and willin’ to treat friends with the respect they deserve deep down, but that’s gotta be earned first and foremost. Trust comes slowly to me, they always say that ya never know what someone’s really like until ya find out the hard way, and I’ve learned that lesson more than I’d care to admit. I like to think I’m a pretty reasonable person, ain’t a lot that’ll really upset or offend me. Slingin’ insults at me? Sure, I’ve probably been called worse. Punchin’ me? Alright then, just gives me a good reason to hit ya back twice as hard. I ain’t the type to go out of my way to start trouble unless someone else throws the first punch, but there are some lines ya just shouldn’t cross. My adopted family is one of those lines. Say what ya want about me, but spreadin’ lies and slander and talkin’ s**t about my family might as well be signin’ yer epitaph. And believe me when I say I hold a helluva grudge, even if yer on the other side of the globe it ain’t gonna save ya from gettin’ yer s**t shoved in.
History:
Born in Saffron City as an only child, Nizhoni spent the first years of childhood in a broken home to a dysfunctional family of her abusive mother and her appeasing father. The product of an unexpected and untimely birth to two parents who were less than prepared to take on the responsibility of raising a child. They were a happy family once when she was younger, though the memories have become blurred and distorted over the years. Her father put in much more effort to raise her, working himself to the bone while all her mother did was drink, sleep, and party. Roughly 4 years later, and her father had had enough, feeling that he was much better of going off on his own and that he wasn't as cut out to be a parent as he had thought. After her father left them, the abuse she suffered from her mother became worse and worse, verbally and physically. Eventually, the young 7 year old was taken by her mother to the Haina Desert in the Alola region, and was left to die with a broken leg. Hurt, helpless, and afraid, the young girl crawled on her arms and good leg for hours to try to find a way out before collapsing from the sheer heat. When she awoke, she found herself surrounded by soft, lush grass under the shade of a bunch of palm trees next to a small pool of crystal clear water. The guardian deity of Ula'ula, Tapu Bulu, had rescued her and brought her to a hidden oasis to save her life. The guardian helped take care of her wounds, and took the lost girl under its wing as she had no one to look after her and no home to return to.
Years later, Tapu Bulu brings Nizhoni into the care of an elderly native Alolan couple living in a caravan on Route 13, wanting to attempt to help her find more capable caretakers to look after her as it can't look after her all the time. Fearing abuse and abandonment for a second time, it took months for Nizhoni to warm up to her foster parents, but the elders treated her kindly and like one of their own and she eventually developed a strong attachment to them. On occasion, she would visit with Tapu Bulu near the entrance to Haina Desert at night, occasionally bringing gifts as thanks to her friend for saving her life. However, it wasn't meant to last, as both elders eventually passed away due to illness and old age, and she was left alone once again. Unsure of where else to go, she stayed at the Pokemon Center in the nearby ruined Tapu Village until she was found and picked up by an older gay couple who were touring Alola at the time and went with them back to their home in Lavaridge Town, Hoenn. She found herself welcome into their little family of adopted castaways and delinquents, including her little sister Amalee and her older brothers Castiel and Bronte. Nizhoni made her own place in the family, developing a strong bond with most of her siblings and helping with chores around the house. Little did she know that she was fated for yet another downhill turn in her life when she became involved in an intimate relationship with a man she met at a bar in Mauville named Lee Aaron. Lee came off as very sweet, sensitive, and caring at first, but the more she got to know about him, the more she became entangled in a terrible, abusive relationship that became all the more difficult to escape from. He would take her out on drug runs, breaking and entering sprees, and other illegal activities, saying that she would be able to 'help her family' this way, though he was more in it for making a quick buck by performing gopher duties for large crime syndicates. But one day, a heist went wrong, leading to a dead body on their hands and being taken into custody for second degree murder when the police tracked them down. Interrogations and a court case later, Nizhoni was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment and rehabilitiation, having received a lighter sentence for being an accomplice to the crime and for testifying against Lee in court. After serving her sentence and being released, Nizhoni began reconnecting with her family and attempted to patch things over with her adopted parents, repairing the damages done when she had gotten involved with Lee. Unfortunately, having a now permanent criminal record on her hands meant that finding a job of her own would be much more difficult, and for six years she did little else other than look after her younger sister and working around the house. As much as she didn't mind helping her family, Nizhoni found herself growing restless and wanting to strike out on her own to try to find a new place for herself in the world. Her brother Bronte, who she was very close to, suggested that going on a Pokemon journey on her own could help her establish a foothold in the world and allow her to reevaluate herself and her goals in life by exploring new places and befriending Pokemon along the way. She was hesitant to agree to the idea at first, but felt that Bronte had a good point and decided to undergo her own Pokemon journey as it presented a good opportunity that she would be remiss to pass up. Preparations were made, and she set off for the Alola region as soon as she could, wanting to revisit old, fond memories among the islands and perhaps, hopefully, reconnect with an old friend she had fallen out of touch with for many years.

Favorite Pokemon:
Fightin’-types are my first and primary favorites, though I also really like Dragon, Fire, Steel, Fairy, Dark, and Rock types. To be fair, there ain’t any types that I really dislike either, though I can’t say I’m a real fan of Bug types. Don’t get me wrong, there’s quite a few neat-lookin’ ones that I really don’t mind, like Scizor or Heracross or Escavalier. It’s ones that look like insects I hate in general that I’d rather pass on, especially ones that are pretty much giant bees and spiders. Eugh…
Deepest Secrets:
- She develops addictions very easily, and has had an extensive past record of alcohol and drug abuse because she sees them as an easy means of remedying pain and grief. After going through extensive rehabilitation, however, she’s been clean from drugs and tries to moderate her alcohol consumption. Her record so far has lasted for six years.
- She shares a personal bond with Tapu Bulu, as the guardian of Ula’ula Island took her under its wing and helped bring her to a good, loving home with her first foster family after she had been abandoned in the Haina Desert and left for dead. Nizhoni harbors a deep respect for the Tapu, and hopes to someday return to the Ruins of Abundance to offer thanks to her old friend in person even if it means having to traverse the desert to get there. She wears the bell bracelet because the bell’s chime reminds her of how Tapu Bulu would make ringing sounds with its tail to let others know of its presence and to avoid unnecessary conflicts.
- She refuses to speak of or even acknowledge the existence of her biological mother as well as her first ex-fiancé, a man by the name of Lee Aaron, and pressing further only yields a relatively vague answer at best before she completely clams up and refuses to say anything more. She prefers to keep talk about her past life as minimal as possible, though a good amount of alcohol can help to loosen her usually tightly shut mouth a bit more…
Quirks:
- Nizhoni keeps a Swiss army knife, brass knuckles, and a pair of silver steel 9 mm pistols on her at all times, though she primarily keeps the guns hidden away. The guns are not her own, but she 'borrowed' them from her adopted father Russell as a kind of insurance policy in case she encounters serious trouble. She hopes that there wouldn't come a situation where she'd need to use them, however.
- When frustrated or angry, Nizhoni tends to go off on her own to find other, more productive ways to let off steam rather than resort to the default of violence against whatever or whoever made her upset.
- She can hold her liquor surprisingly well, it could take at least 7 shots of strong alcohol before she even starts feeling a little tipsy.
Likes:
- Her adopted families
- Coffee and tea
- Alcohol
- Smoking/Vaping
- Classic rock and metal music (though she doesn’t necessarily dislike other genres either)

- Bad jokes and puns (surprisingly easily amused)
- Spicy and sweet foods
- Gambling
- Cute Pokémon (as much as she won’t admit it)
- Exercising (tries to maintain her fitness as much as she can)

- Her biological mother
- Nosybodies (read as: people who try to pry into her business)
- Overly sour foods
- Her ex-fiancé
- Being talked down to
- Being called 'worthless'
- Narcissism
Skills:
- Basic thievery skills (lockpicking, sleight of hand, etc.)
