User ImageSMM had agreed to go with the younger lions on their Viking. The group Viking had apparently gone as well as expected with a group so large and though the three youngsters had succeeded in their trip they had almost immediately wanted to go on another outing upon their return. She had convinced her captain to allow them a little wiggle room and left with the youngsters of her family line and their partners in tow. She had long come to rely upon the vulture that was her partner in everything, she was a scout and she was very good at.

The pale vulture swooped overhead, Gyps was used to going on vikings, with a larger party or with SMM alone they made a great team and the lioness never treated her as a slave, they were partners in this life and they treated each other with respect. “There’s a group of wild dogs ahead, they’ve made a kill if you’re hungry.” The bird clicked her beak as she landed upon the lionesses back.

User ImageAurnia hopped, skipped and jumped as she always did when she walked. she was excited about this her first outing, though it did sort of feel just like a family trip instead of a Viking, she and her brother had begged their, aunt, to take them out. Really SMM was sort of a cousin rather than an aunt, her father Dooley and SMM’s mother Nymphaea were half siblings, that made them half cousins but SMM was older than them so her cubs had become their cousins because the complexities of working out relations they had settled on Aunt. “Wild dogs?” The golden lioness queried, is that what they did on vikings? Wild dogs were much, much smaller than all of them, they had gained a giant gene from their ancestors so although they were all the wrong colours they were all giants like their firekin ancestors.

Arapawa looked up at the lioness who was his partner. She smiled lightly, he knew the female was worried because he was a dog too. “You need to follow SMM’s orders Aur, remember you’re a Viking now and that means maybe doing things you don’t really agree with.” He sighed, he had a feeling that this whole being a Viking thing really didn’t suit the golden lioness but he had yet to broach the subject. He had a feeling her brother felt the same but he wasn’t sure how to tell Aurnia that maybe she should find some where else to live, some where she could just be happy and bouncy.

User ImageBailintin padded up beside his sister and nudged her gently. The life of a stormborn lion didn’t really suit his mild mannered sister and he often pondered if she would stay or if she would decide to leave. Though he was thought of as a silent giant the dark brown male liked the pride he lived in. Though his father preached about being gentle and teaching others how to protect themselves. The stormborn were all about the take. “Sounds interesting, lets go.” He nodded to his golden sibling, if she decided to hold back he would do the work for her. He didn’t want her to have to do something she didn’t like. He on the other hand wanted to be a reaver, he wanted to prove his power. He supposed he was more like his mother in that way, she wanted to be seen as strong wanted to make her home pride regret seeing her off.

The pink jackal, Onyesha padded quietly between the dark chocolate brown males legs, she always walked here. She had long learned how to walk with Bailintin without getting stood on, her bright coloured coat sparkled at all times so when she was out with him she tried to stay as hidden as possible, this wasn’t always possible of course but by staying between his legs she stayed out of the way, was protected and invisible as she could be. She frowned a little when she heard wild dogs, she didn’t really feel anything for another dog species and she knew that Bailintin would want to prove himself it just felt wrong stealing a meal from a group so much weaker than they were. She said nothing though and simply sped up as the brown male lion did to keep up with him.

LSK as she preferred to be known followed her mother and cousins quietly, her eyes darted from left to right as they went. She was a little older than her two cousins, not by much but she felt she was the more mature of her younger relatives. She moved silently to stand alongside her mother “Wild dogs, really? Arn’t they a little below us?” She huffed, though this was her first real Viking that wasn’t her proving herself to the world, to the pride, that she could be a reaver, she still felt that taking down a pack of dogs would be boring and below her capacity to test her skills.

SMM smiled at her daughter, her child was well known to be cool and collected, very unlike her, she wondered if her father was like that, the brief time she had known the male that had fathered her first litter of cubs, he was charming and roguish, she had enjoyed his company and he had left her with cubs. She hadn’t been unhappy about this but they were all grown up now and ready for their own adventures. “You have to walk before you can run daughter. Plus a meal should never be passed up, you never know when you are out in the rogue lands if you will find another meal any time soon. Lead the way Gyps.” She purred at the vulture.

They big white bird spread her wings and set off in the direction of the pack of wild dogs, they wouldn’t know what hit them, but their meal would go down nicely. “This way.” She cawed winging her way towards the pack and its kill.
