Today was the day that Zane had put aside a whole day to spend time with her little sister. She was a weird one, that was for sure so she wanted to see if she could influence her a bit to not be… so weird. Then again, it was likely just who she was. The baphomet rubbed her neck some and sighed before poking her head in to Saffron’s room. “Good morning, Saff. Ready for our day of fun?” She asked with a smile, looking to see if there was some sort of reaction from her stoic sister even if it was unlikely.

Saffron looked in the mirror as she sighed a bit. Why did Zane want to hang out with her so badly? Her excuse was some sister time but she wasn’t sure if there was an ulterior motive or not. Satisfied with her shorts and shirt, the hybrid brushed her hair then moved to brush her teeth. Just as she walked to her room and started putting some things into her little bag, her sister popped her head into her room. She looked at her with a plain expression, “I guess. I’m sure staying home would be just as much fun though.” She told her.

Yup. Just as Zane thought, there was no expression. “Alright, well.. Come on.” She smiled, putting her hand out for Saffron to take. She was surprised the little one did take her hand, walking with her to leave. “Bye dad! We will be back later today! I have my phone!” She called out as she left the house with her sister, heading towards the dinner down the road. “So Saffron, have you talked to Altair recently?” She asked, starting off a conversation since she knew the other wouldn’t. Saffron was quiet compared to her then again so was dad but he at least laughed and tried starting conversations.

Saffron shrugged some, taking her sister’s hand and leaving the house with her. She had a feeling they were going to go to the dinner since that was Zane and her favorite place to eat by the house. It also wasn’t that far of a walk. She gave her big sister a side glance as she mentioned her best friend. “Yeah. I talk to him everyday… He is my best friend.” She replied, looking around at the scenery around them. There were so many flowers and other creatures; so boring. Not as boring as Zane’s conversations though, she couldn't care less about that.

Seeing as her sister didn’t want to talk about Altair, Zane stayed quiet till they got to the dinner. She asked for a table for two then walked with Saffron to their seat. As usual, she let her little sister sit first then her. After getting comfortable and ordering their drinks, she smiled and looked to Saffron. She’d grown up so fast and was going to be a junior in no time. She wondered if the sad feeling she felt about that was how their father felt about them. Of course there is happiness and excitement too but honestly, Zane missed having Saffron come to her when she needed attention. Now she was content being alone and it sort of hurt. “I heard that you got good grades. I am really proud of you.”

Saffron followed Zane into the restaurant, taking a seat first like she normally did. She asked if her sister would get her orange juice and was pleased when she let her. Quietly, she sat and looked over the menu even though she already knew what she was getting. She looked up as Zane talked about her grades. “I guess. Everything is easy as a kid, right? So I guess it’s not much of an accomplishment.” She told her, looking back down at the menu. Finally bored of it, she closed it and looked to her big sister. She didn’t say anything, she just looked at her.

Zane pursed her lips as her sister made it sound like doing well in school was easy. Even though she was younger, back then the homework and classwork could have been hard. Sighing a bit, she leaned back in her seat. “I’ll tell you what, if you at least try to have fun with me today… I will let you pick which ice cream we share, okay?” She asked, upset with herself for trying to bribe her sister to enjoy herself. She felt like her sister didn’t even want to be there with her and that hurt too, especially since she turned down plans to hang out and go to the movies with Emilia.

Saffron looked down at the mention of ice cream, tapping her claw to her chin. Bribery could indeed work and she certainly accepted ice cream as payment. “I guess that can be a deal. You know I will want green tea and you don’t even like that flavor.” She told her, sitting back in her seat. “... Hows emilia?” She asked, trying to do her part in the bargain so she could enjoy the sweet taste of the dinner’s amazing green tea ice cream. She sort of knew the answer to her question though. Emilia was at the house a lot so it wasn’t like they were doing bad. In fact, wasn’t she over just yesterday?

Zane was glad that the bribery at least got her to talk a bit, even if it was bribery that did it. “It definitely isn’t my favorite but it’s okay.” She replied, letting the waiter put their food down. She started to eat a bit, looking to her sister as she started a conversation… pleasantly surprised. “Emilia is good. Her and I will be going to college soon… and honestly, moving in together.” She didn’t think Saffron would care but she thought she should offer anyways, “Of course, you can come visit whenever you want. I will miss you a bunch so I hope you do.”

Saffron started on her food, pleased that she was getting her favorite ice cream after. However, hearing that Zane was going to be moving out, she stopped and looked up. “Oh… “ She mumbled, thinking the situation through for a moment. Of course Zane and Emilia were going to be moving out, that was logically but that didn’t mean she wanted her to move out. “I will miss you too. Zane.” She told her, smiling softly for her before eating more of her food. It did feel good to smile, especially when Zane had smiled so big when she saw it. Finishing up her food, she sat back again and looked to her big sister. “I am ready for the ice cream!” She announced, smiling again.
