Arthur had money. He worked and it paid for food and utilities, not that he even used those much. Maybe some water from the faucet and electricity to charge the laptop, but nothing more than that. With Mordred gone he really didn't need to go home much. Without anyone home, it was just easier to go outside and wander then slip back home to nap the day away.
When it was night, he could wander about like every other cat, see if he could find a senshi or, as he had done before, break into places. Cats getting into air ducts and finding themselves in stores was not anything found weird. Funny maybe but not enough to call the cops over. Cats were also a much better alternative to something large and destructive like a bear or deer or something that wanted to eat everything like rats or raccoons. So he didn't feel anyone would mind when he broke into a bookstore and popped out a air duct.
Dropping down onto a shelf was easy and then it was just a easy walk about the top of the shelves to find where the fridges were. Usually bookstores kept bottled iced coffees and he wanted to have a drink while he read.
What he didn't expect was a chaos signature, and he wondered if it was her. "Katya?"

Rolling onto her back to bat her paws at the frills of a tablerunner, Enyo wondered how she'd get out of the bookstore by dawn. She'd managed to sneak inside just before they closed and hid in the crevices of the non-fiction historicals. Few checked there for any lingering would be patrons. And by her luck, the staff had missed her entirely. Now that night had fallen and she had time to think of her plan to spend the night enjoying reading up on the late Persian empire, she realized perhaps spending a good 8 or more hours in a store was perhaps not ideal. She'd have to teleport back to the rift of all places and she'd realy rather not. It was entirely draining, unpleasant, and it had youma which were about as friendly as a lawnmower. Batting at the strands of thread, she realized in her musings, something other had gotten near. Not... exceptionally powerful, but powerful none the less. Not like anything she'd felt before so what, or who exactly had managed to get into a closed bookstore. Then, like a mockery of an answer a voiced called out. For a name she knew no less. Flipping over and darting to the shadows, Enyo paused before replying. "Unfortunately, I am not Katya. Though, she and I are of like kind." Sticking close to the walls and bookcases she slowly neared the source of energy. "And pray tell, who might you be?"

There was the sound of a weight dropping down, and Arthur soon move about the book selves in search for the feline.
"I'm Arthur. Not your side but of your kind. I read books with Katya here." He said, covering up for the Negaverse cat least she be reported and then punished in some way for being intimate with the enemy.
It wasn't just power signature that brought him closer. There was the lingering scent of her. The warmth of another cat in a place where none were permitted. It made it stand out in the layers of paper and old binding. The musky smell of old human hands touching faded book covers competing with the smell of lingering espresso and fresh ink from recent novels.
When he turned, he spotted her. He gave a little purr that moved into a meow. "My. My. You are a gem." He said, moving towards her. "If I knew so many lovely ladies went to this store, I would have just moved into the rafters."

Paws made no sound as she slunk in the dark, her eyes seeking the speaker. He certainly sounded pleasant enough, and, if he knew Katya and was a companion of hers... The mauvians might not be on the same side of the war, but there was a measure of understanding. They were not made to fight, only to aid and serve. He found her first, and his sudden apperance, made her jump a foot in the air before landing, fur on end. "Gracious!" Shaking to help smooth the ruffled fur, Enyo did her best to relax and maintain her air of dignity. "I-" She was not used to being complimented however, and paused. Had she a human face, no doubt it would be pink. "Arthur was it?" She eyed the white male, her mouth quirking at his glasses. A bit of a unique one wasn't he? "Enyo is what you may call me. And... thank you. You're quite handsome yourself." She wasn't sure however if living in a bookstore was such a great idea however. "Staying in such a place would get attention, and not from ladies such as myself or Katya. Perhaps it's best we meet like this- a passing chance."

"Oh, I didn't mean to startle you." He apologized before moving as close as she would permit.
At her own compliment, he puffed out his own chest just a fraction more and sat down in front of her, resisting the inclination to just purr out of habit.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Enyo. I am glad chance has brought us here but maybe we can take matters into our own paws from this point onward? Chance is fickle and I'd hate to imagine that it might keep us apart."
Seeing as they were here now, he glanced about the shelves and back to rest his vision upon her lovely eyes. "What brings a sweet darling to a place like this?"

Smoothing out her fur, Enyo eyed this Arthur fellow. Katya hadn't told her of him- and she could see why. A handsome and flattering fellow was surely a well kept secret. "Well," she began turning to coyly resume her 'perusing' of the books, "I suppose if I am a welcome companion then I shan't deny you. It's nice to find those not so... ardent towards this conflict. Plus-" She flicked her tail involuntarily. Darn her tiny quirks. "-I did come hoping to find myself a pleasant evening. Find a good book, and let myself get lost in it's pages. What of you, seeking a bit of fictional fun yourself?"

"I've come to read up on in the technology section and a bit on financing. I've been getting up to speed on what humans have available and what I might be able to do as a source of income. It's remarkable what work you can do at home freelancing. No one ever sees your face. If you can send a email, you're golden." He said with a smile.
"I do like a bit of make believe though I much prefer making things reality." He said, moving to brush himself against her side.

Ah, he was more an academic? That made her pause, head tilting as she eyed him. He hadn't seemed to be so well rounded but then, she really shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. "I envy that. I don't often occupy myself with interacting with most persons. I imagine its a bit different for your ilk. The negaverse agents tend to be a bit gruff with us. Brutes, some of them." She tried to not speak to harshly but really, it was hard to gloss over how youma tried to eat you even if you were one the same side. "But you seek to increase your own wealth? That's formidable. Money is power as the saying goes." As he brushed against her, she couldn't help the small muurp that left her, tail curling. "Oh ho. Bold aren't you?" She bat at him. "Careful white fur, you might find that reality is a bit rougher than fantasy."

"Well it's good to maintain your own living and have more control of your life. Also never know when someone might need a hot meal or a bed. I may not have a sword or magic tiara but I can at least try and use Mauvian ingenuity to help in other ways."
He moved back from the batting paw. "If a few hits is what it takes to be beside you then it will be worth the pain. The one in my heart would hurt more without it." He attempted to move closer again.
"What do you like to read to escape the harsh treatment of your agents?"

Enyo felt a pang of envy. To be able to help others so freely, to give them something behind kind words and a furry form to pet. In chaos, the only comfort they gave was that of company. Agents were expected to tend to their own. "You-" She would have been blushing had she been human, instead, her tail flicked back and forth faster, her flustered state openly broadcasted. "You're a genuine Casanova arn't you?" Attempting to hide her expression, (and failing), the smile she gave Arthur was genuine. "Not that I mind." Jumping to a shelf, she was a bit curious as to why he'd ask of why she might read. "Maybe. I enjoy... the romance of it. Adventure, mystery. The negaverse is not without it's share of curios, but to read a story, something with a beginning and end is comforting."

"I have never read romances. I like to watch them. Days. Destiny's Choice. Lifetime in Forever. Our Times in Twilight. There are so many I love to watch. Some stories end but new ones comes around lacing with the other. I can't get enough at times." He admitted as he followed her on the ground below.
"I'm surprised you need more romance in your life. Don't you have a harem at home to excite you?" He knew it was an obvious move to ask if she was single but he said it anyways.

A tiny coy 'mmrp' left Enyo as she looked back at her companion. "Really? Could have fooled me Tom Cat." She teased. He was more a TV man then. She could envy that- her home was.. lacking in that respect. "Perhaps you could give me a few suggestions on movies? I've hardly seen any. An no- no harem. I'm more a one cat woman and so far.. no tom cat has made me purr." She was in dangerous water.

"What a pity for you that no one keeps you warm at night, but I have to admit that I find myself lucky that you are not taken." He laid beside her, enjoying her presence and the warmth of her side.
A sly little thought crossed his mind, and he smiled at her, eyes creasing in his own amusement. "How about we go watch a movie together. There is a small movie theater in Saxton and Twelfth. It would be easy enough to go through the top and inside. We can watch any movie of your choosing, though I think there is a romance one out right now. We can go inside and settle into a seat. They have ones that a lounge chairs now. Reclining. If you'd be my date of course." He said with a smile.
