Another day, and another moment Nara found herself on the borders. This time, she stood near some cliffs, staring down at what looked like an abyss below. It was such a long way down, and seemed even greater with how small she appeared in her current form.
Nara sighed, hopping off the rock from the cliff, walking towards the small lake. There was a small sound of thunder above, but it wasn't like what the storm ridden lands went through. No, this was more or less in conjunction with whatever was going on in the sky above. The crashes and flashes of light were almost nonstop. Whatever was causing them was not a happy camper.
The young godlet in disguised watched as the light show continued, seeing small bits of debris crashing to the earth. Her head tilted. She was too far to gather those, but they did appear pretty as they fell from the sky.

The large eagle had not been far, watching the young goddess in her eaglet form, his head tilted curiously. Blue eyes narrowed as he watched her, wonder just what she was doing so close to the cliffs. Was she trying to overcome her fears? To remember what it had once been like to fly? Perhaps she was not afraid of all heights after all, that might make it easier for her to learn to fly again. "Good morning, Nara. What brings you to these cliffs?" The eagle god had flow to her side, settling to perch on a large rock, wings folding to rest against his back. He may or may not have placed himself between her and the cliff's edge juuuust in case. (A father does not stop being a father just because his child has been reborn). When he spoke it was with a smile.

Nara was startled by the sudden appearance of Griffith. She hopped backwards as the eagle landed between her and the cliffs. "Oh. Hi there! Um..." Her dark eyes passed the other's form as she eyes the cliff again. "I was...um...just thinking how much of a long way down it is. It's an even bigger drop than when Feathers left me in a tree a while ago." She stated, giving a small nod of her head. A small shudder ran through her body. That was a memory she did not want to recollect, yet it found itself rearing its ugly head every time Nara thought about flying or of heights in general. She tucked her wings tightly to her side. Yep. staying on the ground. "I didn't expect you to be out here though. Still looking for your children?" She asked with a small smile on her beak.

Griffith glanced over the cliff with a thoughtful expression, a shrug of his wings. "I suppose it would seem far to a lion. Feathers? A friend of yours?" The god's eyes narrowed, inwardly making a note to find this 'feathers' who had left his child in a tree when she did not yet know how to fly and have a serious word with them. And by serious word, well you might not want to know what he would mean by 'serious word'. It seemed he may have discovered the source of her fear of heights. "It seems an odd thing, to leave a bird in a tree." There was a knowing smirk on his beak. Oh yes, Nara, you are totally busted. Even if he had not once been your father, Griffith would have certainly discerned you were a deity from that statement. Oh little one, it takes more than appearance to hide a god's true form. "I have spoken to my daughter again, however my son seems to have moved on."

"Not...so much a friend." Acquaintance? Another body? Nara didn't really know how to describe Tanaka. A pain in her butt. Ah, that was a good one! ...oops. Right. Birds like being in trees. And she was put in one before she learned how to materialize in a bird form. And here Nara thought she was doing well at concealing herself! Their last meeting had gone so well too! Looking around, the disguised female let out a small sigh. Why hold up the charade. "I'm...not really a bird." Nara said quietly, her form shifting to reveal her juvenile goddess form. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you before." The little lion goddess stood next to the eagle, bearing on her gear except for the two-toned pendant. "You aren't mad...are you?" Nara asked with a frown.

Griffith smiled as he watched her transform, taking the shape he knew so well. Ah, there she was, his little one. She did not look so different in this life as she had in the last. But he would have known her even if she had changed, he would always know his children. "No, why would I be mad? You are hardly the first god to hide themselves as an eagle. It is not wrong to take another form in a world of mortal creatures. Mortals can be kind and good-hearted, but they can also be petty and cruel. It is sometimes best to know their intentions before revealing yourself." The eagle spoke with a wisdom beyond what one would expect of a mortal avian. Fitting, being that he to was a god hiding his true form. He did not hide from fear or to deceive, he simply was not certain she was ready to see him as he truly was. It seemed she needed him more as an eagle than as a god. The eagle god turned to face the cliff, wings outstretched to feel the wind through his feathers, powerful talons holding him fast to the rock of his perch. "There is a good breeze rising from below, one could ride it if they so wished."

"I see a lot of gods like to transform into birds or other creatures. I met one who was a raven, and another who liked to be a um...deer?" What did Corellon call that form? Plus, he had the wolf form with the big antlers. "And then I met one that likes to just be like a lion!" She said excitedly, like telling a story. She nodded however when he mentioned that some mortals can be kind, and some could be cruel. She had met both of the spectrum just in the stormborn alone. Nara watched as the eagle spread his wings, the breeze filtering through his feathers, ruffling them ever so slightly. She found herself shrinking down back into chick form, standing close to the eagle male. One wing slightly expanded, while the other remained tight to her side, just so she could feel it. "The ground is safer."

Griffith nodded, his interest most drawn to the mention of the raven. His poor Judeau, the mortal world had not been kind to his son. "The forms gods choose are as different and varied as they are themselves. There are even those who choose multiple forms." A soft smile, his head turned just enough to watch Nara from the corner of his eye. That's my girl, feel the wind, remember the feeling as it moves through your feathers. There is no reason to fear, you need only find your own courage. "Is it? I suppose there are those who would feel far safer on the ground, but there are those who would claim the opposite, that safety lies in flying beyond the reach of predators. You are right, some creatures do belong on the ground, but to those who can fly, they will find a whole new world opened up to them. And to some, that is well worth any risk." His grip on the rock released, his wings shifting, allowing the wind to catch his wings, lifting him from the ground. A moment held aloft, his wings angled again, changing to the flow of air, his feathered body drifting back down to settled on his perch once more. Floating on the air was not so different from flying, perhaps it was a good place to start.

"I don't know why I chose this form." Nara peeked at herself. "I just wanted to see what it was like to have wings. A lot of other gods I have met have them." She was kind of jealous she didn't. "Maybe you're right." Nara never thought of looking from it from a different perspective. If she was able to fly, maybe she would have her necklace still. Maybe she would still be in the stormborn lands with her friends. Her dark eyes watched as the older eagle let the wings lift him from his perch, hovering for a moment before landing again. She shook her head as her wing ticked close to her side again. Nope. Knowing Nara's luck, she would get pushed over by a sudden gust of wind and plummet to her death. It was obvious she needed more persuasion if her feet were going to get off the ground.

Oh little one, if only he could share his wings with you. "And many other gods do not, but I have seen those without fly as high as those who do." The eagle frowned, his brow furrowing. For a moment it had seemed she was nearly there, that she would take that first step. He was sure the desire was there, she could fly if she wished, if only she would spread her wings. Sigh, perhaps she was not yet ready, it had been so much easier with his sons. He turned to face her, placing his large form fully between Nara and the cliff, his wings outstretched to their full width to block the wind hoping to make her feel safe enough to open her wings. "When you decide you are ready, I will be there to catch you. I will not let you fall."

"Gaius I think flew without wings." She didn't know exactly what he did, her eyes were closed and buried completely into his curly mane when he had retrieved her from the tree. "Judeau said something like that. I don't believe him though. Judeau was that raven I told you about." Nara advised. What...was he doing? He was blocking her from the cliff? Protecting her? Nara found herself frowning. Would she ever be ready? Could she trust the words of the larger eagle? He had given her no reason not to trust her... With a small sigh, the small chick began to slowly extend her wings feeling the wind start to rustle through the light feathers. She began to feel the light air lift her off the ground, before she squealed and quickly tucked them back to her side. She landed on the ground with the softest thud. It was progress. Very little progress, but progress none the less. "I....don't think I want to do anymore for the day." she said with a frown, her heart racing just from the small lifting experience.

"He sounds like a very smart raven." He would have to check on his son in the lands he now resided in, but for now, it was Nara who needed him most. That's it, little one, you can do it, spread your wings, feel the wind, you can fly if you wish to. The eagle was overjoyed to see her small wings spread, even if only for a moment. It had been a small step yes, but it had still been a step, and that was a start. With a happy squawk, Griffith affectionately tapped her with his beak. She would learn to fly in her own time, and when she did she would wonder why she had ever hesiated. "You will fly when you feel you are ready. There is no reason to push yourself before then."

“He was a very grumpy raven!” Nara muttered, remembering the last meeting she had with the avian. “He kept calling me his sister too.” The eaglet chick stuck her tongue out at this. “I am pretty sure I would remember if I had a family.” At least...a biological one. Nara seemed to be gaining family members not by blood, but just by connections everywhere she went. The small chick nodded with a small smile. Maybe she would get this flying thing down. A big maybe, but maybe nonetheless. It was a small start for the young goddess. “Thank you for helping though!” Nara said after a moment. “Though, I still think the ground is much safer.” She giggled, motioning to the ground with her talon toes. “I probably should get going before the pride lions start to wonder where I am.” The disguised female found herself rematerializing in her true form. She still wore her gauntlets, but would remove them once she got closer. There were still some things she wasn’t ready to speak with mortals about just yet. “Bye!”
