Clacking could be heard through out a good amount of the caverns as Bheka made his way through the weaving tunnels. A good amount of shells and miscellaneous things that had washed up on the beach hung on a pouch that was fastened safely to his flank. He was pretty sure that he was at least -near- the correct spot.

It was a little nerve racking to be making jewelry with THE gem heralds apprentice but Bheka was willing to put on a brave face. To say the teen had a smidge of social anxiety was an under statement. He'd not grown with a lot of confidence in him self and usually preferred to be hidden in the background where he was mastering his craft. The gray male had made sure he had a choice selection for the female as far as supplies were concerned in hopes she would want to be his friend. The gray lion was really bad at socializing and friends.

"This.... must be the spot.." He muttered under his breath taking a seat. It was about the time the two said they'd meet and about the place. He was roughly sure this was was the spot at the very least. For now, Bheka would take a seat and patiently wait for Mabaya while in the back of his mind he worried she might have forgotten.

Who would want to hang out with you any ways...

The back of his mind whispered and he shook his head. His brain was being bad again and he was aware of this but it still had that little fear there. Maybe she thought it was silly for him to be making jewelry and she wouldn't show.... Maybe he should pack his bags.

Yeah that seemed rational.

The male got up and started to secure his satchel on his flank. The fear that maybe she wouldn't show was too much for the male to bare.

"This one, oh and this one!" The gem heralds apprentice had purposefully gotten up well before the sun to ensure she gave herself plenty of time to pick through the collection she had hoarded of gems she'd gotten to study during her time as an apprentice. These gems were such an important part of their culture that she wanted to treat each of them with the respect they deserved for being what they were. Jewelry was such a great way to honor them and represent ones own personal stone - how could she pass up an opportunity like this? Surely her mentor would understand a few missing gems.

The lioness blew upward and removed a few straying strands of bangs from her eyes as she worked to get the stones sorted and properly packaged for transportation. Various bags were laid out in front of her for each type that she had. Today would likely be a chance to create a prototype, but she wouldn't be caught unprepared. Among those stones were the ones for herself and Bheka. As the gem heralds apprentice she knew that Bheka was represented by the Carnelian. The small gift was carefully set with her own stone and she tied that one to that bag around her neck loosely while the other bags were added to a much larger bag.

"That should be everything we need." Her tone was sing-songy as she looked over what she had accomplished - not keeping an eye on the way the rays were falling into the open mouth of the cave. She gathered the bags and cringed when she heard some stones clack together - they would survive though - they had survived all this time afterall. Some polishing might be required though..

"Bheka?" Arriving on the scene where they were to meet came with a small surprise. Was he packing up to leave? She glanced skyward and saw the time - oh crap.. Punctuality was part of her training, not a part that had quite sunk in when she was so easily distracted by such exciting adventures. "What on earth are you doing?" Her pale brow rose and she tilted her head slightly to punctuate the question. "I'm just a little late and you decide to bail?" Her tone played the part of hurt quite well. "I did so much work to pull out all of these beautiful gems though.. and a pair of very special gems in particular." She smiled warmly now. Kindness returned to her eyes where there had previously been pain.

"Would you like to see the special ones?"

She approached him slowly like an adult would approach a timid cub. Mabaya, if she was being honest with herself, was worried she might scare him away a bit.

ffff sorry this took so long

The gray males ears pinned back at the sound of the others voice. She'd come after all and he'd really had no faith. A shadow passed over his features as he stood there letting his anxiety wash over him as he did not know what he should do. Mabaya didn't sound cross with him still his heart had sunk all the way to the pit of his stomach and he wasn't sure he wanted to face her after he'd lost his faith.

"Mabaya.. " He looked at her with a sorrow in his eyes like he'd stepped on a puppies tail. "... S-s-sorry I didn't .. umm.. .Well ... Ummm.." He rambled as he listened to what she had to say slowly regaining his grip over his anxiety. There was a mention of special ones and Bheka did his best to nod awkwardly.

"Oh of course.. I would love to see. I'm. I'm sorry. I didn't think you'd have time so I wasn't bailing but.. okay I was bailing but.. not because I didn't want to do this. Are you... mad?" His eyes were glossy with a wetness that wasn't quite tears but one could tell at a glance that the gray lion was quite sorry about the confusion.

(( I imagine him voiced by Elijah Woods in my head ))
