xxxxxxHISTORYx﹗x xxxxxxxxx█ Born as an only child, she lived out her first few years not so happy with her parents. Her father has a peculiarity where things that he licks turn into crystals and her mother can use healing properties with blood circulation- working in cardiology. Her father was part of a villain group, but her mother wasn’t. A few years after she was born, her father split and disappeared because of some scandal and fight that he had with villain group he was a part of. Carrie’s mother resented him for it, but they never saw him again. After he was gone, the villain group tried to regroup with the mother, but was denied several times. Carrie’s quirk did not become apparent until around the age of 8 because of how it needs to process. When she was around the age of 4/5, her mother even wondered if she was quirkless and took her to a doctor, but they were told just to be patient and that there was no medical reason for her to be quirkless. During this time, her cousin Theo, who was very close with her and lived only just a few houses down from them, had already developed his quirk- bone marrow manipulation. Carrie was happy for him, but jealous at the same time. At times she would take advantage of how close he stuck to her. But one day when she was around 8 years old, she accidentally cut herself with a knife while helping her mom to cook and started to lick at the wound in hopes of helping the pain. Not to say the least, it didn’t help- but instead red crystals started to sprout out from her fingers. She had finally discovered her quirk, unfortunately her mother wasn’t so pleased that her daughter needed to be drinking blood to perform this quirk.
Right away she wanted to tell and show all of her classmates what her quirk could do, but her mother was afraid of the judgmental looks from the other mother’s. She made Carrie promise that she could show it off, but on the condition that Carrie would never tell anyone where the crystals came from or how they were made. Giving her word, she went off to school and showed it off to everyone, her cousin was just as impressed. Carrie had already broken her promise to her mother and told her cousin the truth, because of course he was family so it was fine right? Little kids not being able to keep secrets, he told his mother, Carrie’s Aunt, and then she went off to Carrie’s mother to talk about it. It ended up in a quarrel and her Aunt storming out of the house, swearing that she would never let her cousin near them.
Keeping to those words, her Aunt moved Theo to another school, but they created ways to see each other. Years passing by at this point, and now in late middle school, she had kept her promise to her mother ever since that day and never said a word about her quirk’s origin. Growing up though, she secretly started to collect vials and bottles of blood, either her own or wounded animals she would find on the road and in forests. She wanted to be able to use her quirk whenever available and that meant to keep blood on hand. Unfortunately, during this time as she grew up, her father was away more on business trips (although it was obvious that he was avoiding the family) and her mother grew mentally unstable.
One day after she came home from school, she got into a fight with her mother about her quirk and their family. Her mother almost tried strangle Carrie, almost succeeding and saying that she regretted giving birth to such a person. In the end, Carrie lived because her mother jumped from their apartment balcony. Of course this resulted in her death and a darkness started to grow in Carrie. She began to see the world darker, more soiled and corrupted. She wanted to save people and yet she didn’t know how, wasn’t aware what was wrong or right. Definition Very simple, with each term given write a 2-3 sentence definition, as long as it gets the points across is acceptable.
Strain: The theory states that society puts pressure on individuals to achieve socially acceptable goals (such as the American Dream) though they lack the means. This leads to strain which may lead the individuals to commit crimes.
Identity: It is compelling to investigate the question of how the personal self relates to a social environment. It also explains an individuals actions within a group in terms of mental events and states. Some theories go even further by attempting to deal with the issue of identity at both levels of individual cognition and collective behavior.
