Quinn checked his pocket once more, patting the velvet box that he had in there. It had finally arrived and now came the big challenge, giving it to Rae. The last time he gave jewelry to a girl it didn’t exactly end all that well… hell he technically never gave it to her he ended up giving it to another guy to give to her so he was understandably nervous. It wasn’t like the box contained a promise ring or heaven forbid, an engagement ring. It wasn’t even as if it was a ‘special’ price of jewelry. It wasn’t meant to signify anything or show any special feelings he had towards his childhood friend. But the bracelet was rather special in its own right.

It’s that special feature he was worried about. Rae might very well deck him for it but he felt at least partially responsible for her returning to Destiny City, and the danger that came along with it. Since he couldn’t stick with her 24 hours a day he hoped the bracelet would help with the worry that lurked in the back of his mind.

So here he was anxiously awaiting one of his oldest friends. “Sir, would you like something to drink while you wait for your companion?” The question jarred Quinn from his thoughts and nearly asked for a beer. “Just some water please. She should be here shortly.” His request brought a nod and a quick retreat from the waitress. Damn it, he really needed a drink.
