The campus was huge and Dessie was going to be starting here in just a few weeks. It was daunting to think about especially since she never expected to be in the position to ever go to a four year college like this, maybe a community college eventually but not accredited place like this and she didn’t have to worry about the cost either. Man her life had changed. Sometimes she even forgot about her past but it was during moments like this, when she contemplated the path she was on now, that the shear difference dumbfounded her. Rather then focus on it or even work through the rolling emotions that boiled in her she buried them under a tone of mental ice and continued with her exploration of the campus.

The art department had been fascinating and there had been more than once where the young woman had to shove her hands in her jacket pockets to keep from trying out the different materials. There had been one summer class in session where the teacher waved her in and murmured a explanation of what was going on. The old guy was nice, strange but not half bad. Maybe classes here wouldn’t be too bad.

From the art buildings she had wandered through the science buildings then through english, the computer laps were dark and locked up tight for the day, the gym surprisingly active even though it was still technically summer, but where she really lost time was in the library. Dessie had wandered into the vast building and quickly lost herself among the shelves. The hushed and calming vibe of the place smoothing out the last of her anxiety, it actually reminded her of the temple on her wonder since they both had the same atmosphere. Time seemed to move differently there and she quickly became absorbed in the art books, only the quiet buzz of her phone pulled her from her reading.

A glance at the time the phone displayed and the text, ‘where are you?’, had her wincing. She had definitely overstayed her time here. It was officially night and she had spend the majority of the day on campus… without telling her family she was doing so. Dessie tossed off a rapid text, explaining she was at the school and would be heading back now. It wasn’t that they distrusted her but after her last disappearance, well she tried to make sure they knew she wasn’t going to try to run away again. Even if that meant being accountable for her whereabouts which wasn’t easy for her, not even after nearly five years.

With that in mind she actually did as she said she would. The blonde gathered up her stuff, cleaning up the mess she made as she went, and soon was traversing the dark campus towards her car. The bright and cheerful place taking on a much more ominous feel in the darkness, that that Dessie couldn’t handle herself. The night held very few things that she was afraid of and even less that she couldn’t fight.

It was easy for one Isaac Argent to lose track of time quickly. With music playing in his earbuds and work strewn across the table time ticked on and on without notice. He preferred to get his school work done on campus because he was still living at home (at his parent's insistence that he focus on school and his music) and his parents were well-intended busybodies who liked to pester more than they helped.

Still, it reached a point where the student building he was in was beginning to shut down and someone had approached his table to kindly tell him that it was time to pack up and go.

And, as someone who never made a fuss if he could avoid it, he had packed up his things in a neat and efficient manner. The backpack was slung over his shoulder, phone pocketed and the man had taken his leave, crossing across the large campus without being very aware of the things going on around him.

Which, unfortunately, meant that he was completely unaware of the large mass that was slithering in the shadows behind him. His earbuds prevented him from hearing the hissing of the snakes.

The first indication that something was off was the silence around her. It took a moment before she realized that she no longer heard the chirps of bugs, the rustles of birds, and other normal background noise. The sound of the distant roads were still there but the much more ominous silence from the greenery of the campus around her was a dead give away that something was up. Crickets never shut the hell up unless there was a much larger predator around, likely another student. Because the lack of sound drew Dessie’s attention it wasn’t all that surprising for her to frown at the soft hissing coming from somewhere in the darkness. That wasn’t another human that’s for sure.

Weary but curious the young blonde drifted as quietly as she could towards the sounds of hissing. Some kid playing a prank? A gas leak? Each idea she came up with was just as quickly dismissed, short of the kids messing around nothing made any sense. As she got closer it became clear that it was multiple hisses, meaning either several gas leaks or a mass of snakes. Neither were good. What she spotted though was neither of them, not really. It was a snake lady, like one of those hollywood Medusa’s character. s**t, Dessie thought as she spotted the monster. She knew exactly what that creature was, it was a youma. A huge youma. If such a creature was here then it was hunting.

She couldn’t just leave it either, not as a civilian and definitely not as a senshi. With the decision made, like there was any options… Dessie quickly found a hidden spot between buildings. No windows, no people, and most importantly no cameras. She would have to be fast because the young woman figured that as soon as she powered up the monster would know she was there and there was no telling what would happen then. With one last check for prying eyes the blonde palmed her henshi pen, murmured the stupid ‘Power, Make-Up’ phrase, then raced towards the youma as Antares, the Super Senshi of Scorpions. She only detoured once to scoop up a empty soda can, the piece of trash almost immediately tossed at the head of the youma. Antares was hoping to distract the creature, allowing whoever it was stalking to get away.

her aim might not be the best ^-^

The flare of energy distracted Medi first, her large serpentine body freezing up and green eyes flicking back and forth while she tried to find the source. Unable to see anything immediately, the youma continued on her way, the shadow of her large frame eclipsing the poor boy.

It was the can that gained his attention when it smacked off the back of her shoulder and flung past, skittering into his line of vision.

Pale brows furrowed and he turned, hands reaching for his earpods to pull one out. He froze up when he caught sight of the creature in his peripherals.

Isaac didn't know what to do, he wanted to run but he was frozen with panic and purple eyes hurriedly scanned the area around him, hoping to find somewhere that would at the very least provide a place to hide.

Most of the buildings would be locked...

Isaac ran.

It made Medi's decision easy for her, because a tasty civilian would be less troublesome than a meddling senshi and she lunged at the boy, hands wrapping around his ankles and yanking him down.

Her aim wasn’t half bad since it clipped the creature’s shoulder and missed the civilian who obviously wasn’t paying any ******** attention to their surroundings, at least not until it was too late. This time Antares didn’t silently mutter a curse, she said it out loud as she watched in near helplessness as her thrown projectile drew the student's attention to the monster stalking him. Even an olympic runner probably couldn’t have escaped that rapidstrike the snake woman did and the boy she dragged down to the ground sure as hell wasn’t olympic material.

“Yo’ Ugly!” Antares shouted at the creature, hoping to gain it’s attention. To delay it’s attack just that much longer. It wasn’t like the boy was going anywhere anyway, since he was currently dangling from the monster’s grip like some child’s stuffed animal. The blond senshi raced towards the creature, her stride only broken for a moment as she muttered “Scorpion Sting”. The singular ghostly scorpion of the weaker attack manifested only to be tossed like the can before it. It was chucked like a ball right at the giant Naga. It was the weakest of her two attacks but it should be enough to distract the monster… as long as it struck it and not the boy.

Quote:
Sailor Scout Attack: Scorpion Sting

When the attack is called out a ghostly scorpion around the size of a rat or a hamster appears and advances upon the attended target. The scorpion can be touched, swatted, hit, and stepped on but it is not recommended since it is able to sting through clothes and armor alike. When it stings, it's target gets severe pins and needles sensation in the limb that was stung... as if their limb had fallen asleep and was just then waking up, this effect lasts 30 seconds. Any residual affects are up to the target if there is any at all.

The scorpion can be dodged and after 7 feet it disappears and it can only manifest for 30 seconds at a time. It does not travel in a straight line, rather it will head to anything moving so it could be tricked. The length of the scorpion and the length of the effects of the attack are separate, if you are stung in the beginning you have just as long as someone stung right before the scorpion disappears.

This attack can be used up to a maximum of three times in a battle. When the three scorpions have been used no more can manifest until later.

Isaac hit the ground with a thud his chin smacking the concrete beneath him when hands wrapped around his ankles and he tried, desperate, to kick out and free himself to no avail. His glasses were knocked off his face and everything slid into a blurry blob of panic and he started trying to catch some sort of crack in the ground to keep himself from being dragged closer to the monster.

Luckily the person who threw the can, a shapeless blob of white and blonde, was coming to his aid and he squinted, trying to get a better visual of her even as the grip on his ankles was relinquished.

Despite his visual impairment, Isaac managed to scurry forward, hands blindly reaching for his glasses. "Shoot, I can't--" he mumbled.

At least the youma was distracted, her tail lashing out at the scorpion coming her way. It was a poor choice on her part because her tail slammed down right onto the stinger and she could feel the effects almost immediately. "Pesssst," she hissed, trying to lash out at whatever was closest to her.

sorry its not the best of tags >.<'

“Run Dumbass!” Antares shouted at the civilian who was scrambling on the ground for something as she ran closer. He was just yanked to his face, dragged backwards, and now was let go but he was still sticking around! What the hell? Was he stupid or something? He was moving around more than someone who got hurt by face planting so he couldn’t be seriously hurt. “Leave your damn phone and run!” The blonde senshi should have been paying more attention to the youma since she didn’t see the creature’s tail lash out until it was nearly too late to do anything.

“s**t,” She hissed out her own curse as Antares tried to get out of the way of the massive appendage. She wasn’t quite fast enough and the end of it careened into her side, throwing her across the sidewalk and into the grass. Had it been the bulk of the tail she probably would have broken a few bones in a much further and longer flight. As it was she now sported several cement burns and grass stains all over her uniform. “You Medusa wannabe. Go back to the hole you crawled from before someone cuts your head off like a greek.” The super tossed insults at the creature as she climbed to her feet, if she kept it’s attention then the stupid boy would have longer to get away. She couldn’t even really make this fight hand to hand yet since that guy was still too damn close. She needed a way to get the youma away from the civilian. It was moments like this Antares wished she had an actual weapon like some knights or a more attack like magic. She needed to start carrying around a cane or something!

Run Dumbass.

Isaac could hear the yelling over the pounding of his heart in his ears and he wanted to laugh, perhaps because fear made the body respond in funny way. He couldn't go anywhere, not far away really, if he couldn't see. And he understood how the girl didn't understand that or why it might not be a focus for her.

She was very busy trying to fend off whatever was attacking her.

He wanted to say, It's not my phone it's my glasses, because, really he didn't care about his phone, but he managed to find them and shoved them back on his face and looked at her.

Isaac's mouth opened then shut and he scrambled to his feet and ran.

Medi, on the other hand, was lashing out at the senshi with her hair with no care or concern about her surroundings.

Nuxaz
if a neck strike is strong enough it can crush the windpipe... that could kill her ^.^ if not Antares will find a pencil or something she can stab her with. I'm sure there are plenty of lost writing utensils in the grass XD

Antares sprang into action as soon as the stupid boy got out of the way, she didn’t catch what had delayed him only that he was far enough away that she could really get into dusting the overgrown snake. The question was how she was going to go about doing that. It was times like these that she really did wish she was a knight… or had an actual weapon like the negaverse had. Not that she would ever want to join their side. They were all bat s**t crazy and needed to be jailed like the serial killers they were.

With a general idea of what she should do the senshi started towards the snake youma calling out her first stage magic once more, “Scorpion Sting”. Like before she tossed one of the materialized scorpions at the creature. She wasn’t too concerned with it. If it landed good, if it didn’t it wasn’t the end of the world. The whole point of the attack was to distract the youma as Antares got closer. Just outside of reach of the creature’s arms, not her tail though, was where Antares sprung her new attack, her Super magic. “Scorpion Swarm”. The larger scorpions instantly started after the youma except the one the blonde snagged. This one she jumped with and with the ghostly arachnid in her hand she punched at the snake woman’s neck.

She had seen how a numb face had caused a nega officer to react, the stronger effect of the larger scorpion should give her the opening she needed to finish the creature off. Especially when it was accompanied by a neck strike, which would hopefully cause the creature pain and breathing problems. In addition to the magic caused by the scorpion. A quick twist of her neck and the youma would be dust, if her snake hair left her the hell alone first that is. If that didn’t work then she would have to figure out how to get some kind of weapon so she could stab this Greek monster wannabe back to Hades where it belonged.

Super Sailor Scout Attack: Scorpion Swarm

When the attack is called out three ghostly scorpions around the size of a ferret appears and advances upon the attended target. The scorpions can be touched, swatted, hit, and stepped on but it is not recommended since they are able to sting through clothes and armor alike. When one stings, it's target they lose all feeling in that particular limb... as if their limb is still asleep and has yet to wake up. They can still use it but they can't feel it at all. This affect lasts 30 seconds, any residual effects are up to the target if there is any at all.

The scorpions can be dodged and after 7 feet they disappear and they can only manifest for 30 seconds at a time. Isaac had thought about, very briefly, sticking around, but instead decided that it was in his best interest to get to his vehicle and to get far far away from the campus, so that was exactly what he did.

He wished he could thank the girl that had come to his aid, but she had bigger concerns and things to worry about so he didn't. Instead, he left.

If he saw her later, then he'd remember to thank her. But if not, well he hoped that she knew he was grateful.

(Isaac's out)

Medi nearly shrieked, her snakes biting at the scorpions that came her way and her tail thrashed this way and that, a manic rage that was more about trying to preserve and protect herself than doing any true damage to the senshi who'd spoiled her dinner.

Her mouth opened, but her words were stuck in her throat with Antares's punch connected with her throat -- the magic having done what it needed to - and with a shriek, she burst into dust.

and fin on my end too ^.^

Antares landed heavily as the youma went to dust around her. This was honestly the grossest part of dealing with youma… the aftermath. With a mutter the young woman gave herself a shake and stomped off. Since the boy was already gone, home she hoped, and the youma was dusted, it was past time for Antares to head home herself. Man, her family was already pissed at her for being here so late, they were going to be even more annoyed when she explained why she was delayed even further.

It took her a bit longer to find a safe place to power down but soon Dessie was hopping into her car and heading home. Finally. A fight with a sudo-medusa was not how she wanted to end her night but overall the day had been quite productive. And now she knew a few spots to safely power up or down while on campus because now that she would be going there. Handy.
