- Labyrinth has a shop policy where some edits can be reused for other characters. Reusable edits are edits that are not redrawn each time it's used. For instance, the cat tail template that has been used quite a few times without edits is a reusable edit, while a character with a hair edit is not considered reusable (unless the owner donates it), as any character with similar hair will have unique lineart.
Free/raffle event pets that do not have a disclaimer that the edits are unique to the character may have edits donated for colorists/customers to use again. Minor edits, such as added eyelashes, slight fluff changes, elongated teeth, etc may be reused in the future. Breedings may reuse edits a parent has. Edits can reused within reason, but owners also can donate edits that are not considered fair use for other customers to use.
Unique, strange, large, or complicated edits are almost always unique to the character itself. While they may breed and the edit passes onto their kid without being redrawn, that's about the only way the edit will get around without permission of the owner. Even then, most breedings will have similar but redrawn edits unless the owner donates it, as not all colorists are comfortable sharing edits without the express permission of the owner.
If you wish to donate an edit it's up to you how it goes out, for the most part. You can't limit who specifically gets it (aka, you can't say Susan can't have this edit), but you can select what edit on your character you're donating, and if it's a free-reign edit for everyone or a breeding specific donation.
All you need to do is post the uncert of your character and tell us specifically the edit you're donating, and how it can be used. Valid restrictions are;
Can be used for direct descendants only
Can be customed/requested freely
Comes with an in-character restriction such as blindness/insanity/etc
Only for those in ____ pack/tribe/herd (if the character leaves you cannot force the edit to be removed, it's permanent)
Unacceptable restrictions are;
Susan can't have this
Those who have it can't breed with ____
Can only be in ____ color.
