Since then she'd even made a few friends and started learning how to play a couple instruments. Each new day was exciting and fun and made her feel almost like her heart was going to burst right out of her chest from joy. Music had been an unknown pleasure before just listening as the rest of the orphanage was sheparded into a room and taught a little about music as a whole. Now she could participate in the classes at the academy, and they didn’t restrict which instrument she picked as long as it wasn’t too big for her.
Art was also a new pleasure for her. One she shared with one of her new friends, Habushu. He’d introduced her to painting when she’d stumbled across him after after school music lessons, and they’d done a painting together. The small canvas painting was still proudly displayed on the wall in her room and she hoped that they’d make many more together.
The imp hybrid often came by the house for visits, and even though he was still a little intimidated by Vüsala, they had loads of fun painting together. He’d been inspired to take a class on sign so they could speak and she was so proud to call him her friend.
Thinking of her friends had Devorah on her mind as well. The grimm had been rusty at sign when they’d first met, but she’d made an effort to understand her anyway. Kanda had been so happy that she’d had Vüsala go out and get her a couple sign books so that she could invite Devorah over for lessons on occasion.
That had her thinking about her attempts to help her dad make some new friends. Vüsala complained about her doing it, but she knew that deep down he appreciated her efforts. He only had like one! So he definitely needed more. Especially like, doctor friends. Like Silent for instance. She'd only briefly met him, but Vusala seemed to like working with him and she hoped that they could be good friends soon enough too.
Her room was packed with the momentos of her new life. Ones that she'd collected while making friends and having fun at school. Her two practice instruments sat neatly against the wall, a music stand carefully propped up beside them, Habushu's painting carefully arranged on the wall, trinkets from various festive events she’d attended either with Vüsala or alone, her pets’ things, even a couple books on sign she'd been helping Devorah learn with.
She'd come here with a handful of outfits from the orphanage and looking around now to see the entire room full of stuff that she'd collected made her heart swell. Her twin tails wagged so hard that she could feel the wind they were making flutter a couple of the papers on her desk and tears gathered in the corners of her eyes. Since she was getting bigger, she'd get even more things to fill her room with, more memories with her friends and family and she couldn't wait. Dashing into the hall outside her room, she looked about for Vüsala. Spotting him, she rushed over, throwing her arms around him in a spontaneous hug. Before he could even ask her why she was so excited she had pulled back to ask if Habushu and Devorah could come over like RIGHT NOW.
