Man, he had forgot that the junior that had helped the pink freshling that he had successfully guided into the closet had walked towards his beautiful hand writing displayed on the wall as well. That was, until he ran into them after coming back from closing the closet. Ezekiel had groaned as he was caught and reluctantly turned into his respective class. Who knew someone so old would catch him. He should have been more careful and not gotten his hands covered in red. Surely, the junior wouldn't have expected him if he hadn't had the paint on his hands. It was too late now. All the caretakers had been on guard as he went from class to class. There was no escape. He even had to suffer through another bout of detention. Ugh Mindlessly, the kid wandered through the hall, and heard sniffles. Sniffles? Zeke turned slowly on his heel...and towards the door where the closet was. The same closet that he had trapped the other freshling in. Man, but he couldn't have been in there! It wasn't like he locked the door. Zeke leaned against the wooden barrier and let out a loud, unmistakable sigh. "It's pathetic for a janitor to cry, you know."

Di'o was miserable. There had been several instances where they could hear voices coming from outside the door but they must not have been loud enough to get their attention because nobody found them. They'd settled into a position on the floor but there was something digging into them or poking them no matter how they'd shifted. They could feel their energy flagging, they needed some angel breath tea, and they really had to go to the bathroom. It hadn't been that bad at first, they'd just gone to the bathroom and were ready for class, but as the day wore on their optimism was lacking.
After the first bout of crying they'd mostly calmed down, but now it was too quiet. What if everyone had gone home and they were trapped in here overnight? They would run out of energy and shut down and nobody would know they were in there and they'd never grow up. Just thinking about it had them sniffling again, working their way back towards tears.
Until they heard someone addressing what they hoped was the door.
"h-Hello?" They called out. "I'm trapped! I can't get out!" Hopeful that someone would be able to get them out, they sprang to their feet, nearly falling when it turned out their legs were numb.

Ezekiel eyebrows shot up in surprise. "You're still in there?!" he tapped on the door a few times. What the heckie. It wasn't like the door was locked. Or..was it? He gave the knob a twist and heard the door click open again. Getting out should be a piece of cake! Ezekiel laughed. "Well, I don't know what to tell ya kiddo. You're stuck in there. I don't know how to get you out." He lied, snickering to himself. "Maybe calling your little familiar buddy will save you." His eyebrows raised again in mock surprise, as if Di'o could see him. "Oh that's right! You can't!" He rolled his eyes with finality, slumping. "How can you not get out?" It seemed easy enough. Just open up the door. But nah, he wouldn't tell no eyes that yet. There was still time to chatter. Di'o got themselves in this mess.

"Y-yes?!" Di'o replied. Wasn't it obvious? They hadn't come out and were shouting from in the room. Why else would they be doing it if they could get out. They'd already groped about to try to find the doorknob, but either it was too high up or something was in front of it.
"Nobody. . .answered. . .I tried calling out when there were people around!" They hadn't even thought about calling out for their fennekit. Oh no, it had spent the whole day out in the school. What if someone had found it and thought he was abandoned?! Now they really wished they could get out.
"A bunch of stuff fell and I can't find it. I'm pretty sure something broke in here too but I can't find that either." Mildly hopeful at this point, they scooted over to the side where the voice was coming from. "Can you help me out? I really gotta pee." It was a bit of a wonder they hadn't made a mess of themselves already.

Oh man, this kid was a trip. A piece of work. Zeke snickered to himself and leaned his head back against the door, his eyes glowing more brightly as the cogs in his head began to turn with different little schemes. "Nobody answered?" Well, that was going to be a given. The halls got offly crowded and noisy during passing periods. What, did this kid not know that little tid bit? He snorted. The more surprising thing was why the janitor hadn't come around yet. Hm. Maybe that would be soon. Their lips turned into a frown. Zeke didn't want his fun to end that early! "You didn't try knocking on the walls for help?" he shook his head. This Di'o kid really was dumb. But hey, at least he could use that to his advantage. He hummed low, thinking before a sadistic smile creeped up on his form. "Maybe people did hear you but didn't want you to come out." he sneered. "I could hear you." But that was when everyone had mostly went home. The time when only teachers and caretakers were around the halls. "A bunch of stuff fell? What. A. Pity." It would have been dead panned if he didn't say it in such a light and whimsical tone. Sarcasm was his forte. ]b]"Guess you're going to be stuck in there forever you aren't going to be able to find it." Pee? Zeke chuckled. "Isn't there a bucket in there? Pee in that." he snickered, hand moving towards his mouth. It fell then, slowly. "But...I might let you out. I'm starting to feel nice. What's in it for me though?"

"No. .. " Di'o mumbled sadly. The prospect that nobody could hear them had been what made them stop yelling. It was so noisy in the halls that it was no wonder anyone had heard them. But of course they wanted to let them out!!
"The teachers said they liked me in their classes! I know they'd have let me in. Just nobody could hear me!" The conviction in their voice made it clear that he wasn't going to change their mind with his teasing. After all, he'd only heard their sniffles when it was real quiet.
They fidgeted their hands together, inching closer to what they hoped was the door. Most of the things had fallen in this area, and they hadn't wanted to make more stuff fall on top of them by trying to climb anything.
"I can't pee in a bucket!! I . . .don't even know if there's one in here." There probably was, but they hadn't felt it when they'd groped about. It was probably under something. Di'o thought for several long moments about what they could give him.
"I'll be your datemate!" They finally called out. "Then we can hold hands and stuff. Easy told me that that's what datemates do." They were more than certain that this was Easy too, but they weren't 100% sure.

Zeke scoffed. "If no one answered, then obviously, they don't like you. " He rolled his eyes. No eyes sure was dumb. "The teachers don't come out of the classrooms, you idiot. They sleep underneath the desks." Obviously. The jerks were always around, constantly watching. Ezekiel shuddered. He hated it. it was like they never left. And why would they leave? There was a cafeteria at the academy. Everything that they would need in order to survive. Ugh. It was, needless to say, frustrating. He'd wish they'd leave. He lived there too! They constantly ruined his fun. "The only ones who really roam the halls are caretakers and students. Did you hear any teachers?" Probably not. They only creeped out in the night to grab some grub, he was sure. He couldn't pee in a bucket? "Are you missing your legs too?" Zeke sneered, one of his lips coming up and curling. That was ridiculous. But...it wouldn't surprise him if Di'o was disappearing into nothingness. It made sense. A bit. A--A---A datemate?! Zeke blushed furiously, his brows scrunching up in embarrassment. "I don't want your cooties man!" What the heckie was this kid doing? Suddenly asking him out like that, as if he was an adult. And getting him embarrassed like that too! "Guess you're going to have to find a bucket soon." Not like he was going to let him out in the next few minutes.

"That's not true! One of them had to lead me to the library yesterday, so of course they leave the classrooms!" This was evidence that a teacher would have probably found them soon. Of course, Easy finding them now was better. They really had to go. Bouncing from foot to foot, they reached out to try shifting some stuff out of the way in the hopes they'd find a door like that.
"I haven't met any caretakers. . .are they like. . .super teachers?" Di'o asked. "I'unno. I've heard lotsa nightmares go by. How'm I s'pos'ta know which is a teacher and which are students. Cuz don't big kids walk around here too?" The junior that had come out of the bathroom with them had been one such, so there must be more. Hopefully.
"There aren't any buckets in here!" And why would they want to even if there were? Peeing in a bucket would be gross and they'd get all gross and then there'd be pee in the room and it would smell bad. But then again, if they didn't get out soon, they might end up peeing in here anyway.
"It wouldn't be cooties!! You(?) held me earlier!" Di'o huffed (they was pretty sure it had been him). What else could they offer? "I can get you cookies?!" They were pretty sure. The cafeteria would have cookies. . wouldn't it? They didn't need them, but they were sure they could manage to get some if it got them out sooner. "Please!"

One of them lead Di'o to the library? Zeke rolled his eyes. "Alright, okay." he bitterly agreed, gritting his teeth. "Sometimes they do leave their rooms, but it's only to take students places or get a bite to eat." The hybrid banged his head on the door behind him. "You've never seen one out of campus have you?" There was a reason for that. They never left. Oh sure, they'd go to the library, the gardens, the kitchen. But they always returned back to their classrooms at the end of the day to get some z's in. He was sure of it. "Caretakers are the idiots who want to become teachers but never get to that point. They're usually outwardly nice but deep down inside, they're nastier than the teachers." The caretakers that he had dealt with were usually always the one to put him in detention. The ones who constantly nagged at him. Unfortunately, he had to see them more than the teachers themselves. It was revolting. He hated it. Zeke pushed up his knees and brooded. "They'll send you to detention as soon as they can. They're evil. He should know; he was diabolical himself. Takes one to know one. "I guess you're going to have to look harder then!" he hollered out, annoyed and still blushing like mad. Telling him that he was going to be his datemate...They were too young for that! Di'o had cooties?! They didn't know each other! Why--why did he want to hold his hand? "Freak!" he hid his cheeks in embarrassment. Jeez, he couldn't believe it. This kid was something else. "You still have cooties!" Holding him didn't count! It wasn't like he placed his fingers in between his. That would be the weirdest. And not right. Then Di'o wanted him to let him out...after asking to be his date. He wasn't going to let him out when his face was so hot! His face was never hot! Those cookies did sound good though. Ezekiel rolled his eyes up towards the air once again before letting out a sigh. "Whatever." he muttered underneath his breath, taking his sweet time getting up and putting his hand on the door. They better be good cookies. And chewy too!

"I'unno, maybe?" Di'o had only had one day of classes so far, were they supposed to have learned all their teachers already? Besides, it wasn't like they would have seen their teachers anyway, they couldn't see! Maybe there were loads of teachers outside of campus, but they would never have known. They'd never even met a caretaker before now, and now they didn't want to. If Easy was right, they would be really mean. They'd probably yell at them for not being in class today but it wasn't their fault! They'd gotten stuck in a closet!
"I-I don't wanna meet a caretaker then!" Especially if they'll send them to detention. They weren't sure what that was, but they didn't want to find out! Especially if it made them evil. Getting a bit more frantic now because they really did have to go like RIGHT NOW, Di'o scrabbled with something that was stuck across the closet. It was long and skinny, so it was probably a broom or maybe a mop? Either way, it was wedged across the way and probably right in front of the door.
"Y-you didn't say I had cooties before!" Di'o called back. "And it'll be like, really good cookies! Like, chocolate chip!" Di'o had no idea if those were good, but everyone had been really excited about them in class yesterday so they hoped so. Pulling on the possible broom, Di'o called out once more. "C'mon, please lemme out!!" Hoping that they'd convinced him to help them out.
"Young man what are you doing?" D'io barely overheard. Was someone else out there?? "Help, help!! I'm stuck!!" They called out. Even if Easy wasn't going to let them out, maybe this new person would? They hoped they had heard!
Outside the closet, a teacher was rapidly approaching. A student getting into one of the janitor's closets was bad news, especially this one which was rarely used. She had gotten within range to start asking what on earth Ezekiel was doing when her ears picked up the sound of another freshling. A quick glance between the freshling with the shocked and disgusted look on his face and the door had her raising an eyebrow. "I'll get you out, don't worry little one." One hand took Zeke's and scooted him aside and the other opened the door. The variety of things strewn across the door had her giving him a stern look.
"We're going to have a talk here soon mister. Stay right there." Then Jeanine nudged the various equipment aside so she could reach in and take out the poor little freshling trapped inside. They were dirty and fidgeting, and she had the impression they'd been in there for awhile. Before she could ask anything, they clamored for the bathroom.
"Please, I gotta go!! Right now!!!" Di'o pleaded. With a quick reply they were soon on the way to the nearest bathroom, their hands linked and on the other side of Jeanine was Zeke, also being dragged along by the hand. After they did their business, they came out and were told that Zeke had been passed on to a caretaker and Di'o paled. They tried telling her that he'd been helping, but she didn't seem to believe them. Di'o drooped a bit but was given a cup of tea while his parent was contacted for her to pick them up. Inwardly they fretted that now Easy was going to be real mad at them for getting him in trouble, even though they had tried to explain. Hopefully he'd understand and wouldn't be too mad at them when they met up next.
