The strange happenings around the pride were eerie to most, but Liling was having the time of her life. One of her favorite pastimes as a cub had been to startle (read: scare the living daylights out of) her poor mother, who was an easy target with how skittish she could be sometimes.

Unfortunately, that was much more difficult around those living here. Oh, there were a couple that made for good targets, but many of them were stoic by nature and her bright coat usually gave her away.

The ghost voices though?

Oh, they were an opportunity. Thanks to them (and the odd shaking in the caves) everyone was just a little bit on edge. And a little bit was all she needed.

At the moment, the white lioness was crouched behind a large crystal mound, watching and waiting for someone to walk around the corner. The voices had started up again, echoing between the walls and making people rush by without stopping to notice her. She tried to change it up with each person. Sometimes she popped out with a roar, sometimes she snuck behind them and started blowing into their ear - but all were fun and in good-nature.

Though... a little lonely too. She was fairly new to the pride still, and the lack of friends was sort of grating on her. Maybe she should consider stopping and actually communicating with them like a civil person.

..... or... she could keep up her game. It was fun being a ghost.

The only thing Nara found that scared her in her short life so far, were thunder storms. So when she started hearing these strange voices traveling in the caverns, she thought nothing of it. What else could it be, than others playing jokes on everyone else in the pride?

Nara was just...unhappy she didn't think of it first! Finding a good spot to put her gear (the gauntlets she wore, for she was without her charm necklace) the young juvenile scampered out, heading down one of the corridors, twisting and turning until she would find the perfect spot to play her game.

She rounded a corner, humming to herself. Oh! Perhaps she could head to the one area many lions like to travel. There was usually a good hiding spot for someone her size there. Hmm... how to get there though.

Being new, she still hadn't gotten her bearings just yet. Navigation wasn't her strong suit.

OoooooOoooO

Her ears perked. Nooo! Someone was already playing the game?! Not if she could help it! Nara raced towards the sounds of the disembodied voice, running smack dab into another figure.

Oh, someone was coming! Liling's butt wiggled behind her as she readied herself to jump out... and then paused as she realized that it sounded like they were running... towards her?

"Eeeeek!" She let out a shriek as someone crashed headlong into her, tumbling to the ground in a dazed slump.

Well, that was the first time anyone had managed to get the jump on her. Normally she was the one startling people. She wasn't terribly heartbroken over it though - no, the white and blue lioness started laughing as she regained her barrings. Being scared was just as fun as scaring others, apparently.

As her giggling toned down, Liling rolled over onto her stomach to look at the other lioness. She looked around her age, actually. What a coincidence!

"Oh, I wasn't expecting that! Here I am trying to frighten people, and someone gets the jump on me."

Oh! oh! She didn't mean to hit anyone! Oh, curses she should really be careful around these tight corners!

Nara blinked, when the lioness began laughing. Oh...good...she wasn't hurt. But... Her head tilted. "I'm sorry! I didn't mean to run into you. I thought I heard those voices and wanted to see where they were coming from! But. It sounds like you were the one that was doing them! It's fun watching the mo----other's reactions." The disembodied voices weren't scaring her one bit, but it seemed to do so with some of the adults in the land. She also, had to catch herself with the slip of mortals.

"I wanted to join in!" She grinned. "I'm Nara! What's your name?"

Liling shook her head cheerfully, not noticing the slip of tongue, "I'm fine! It was funny." Then she paused at the implication that she was the one doing the voices, shaking her head no. "The voices weren't me though. I've just been taking advantage of them to scare people." She snickered, "Everyone is so stiff here. It's funny seeing them freak out."

The lioness rocked from one paw to the other, "I'm Liling! It's nice to meet someone who enjoys seeing others react to it too. I don't know where they're coming from, but it sure is making for a fun game." She grinned from cheek to cheek, "Wanna prank people with me?"

Nara hummed.

"Oh. Not you? HMM. Someone has to be doing them? Have you found anyone making those sounds?" They had to be coming from somewhere...didn't they? Sounds didn't just appear out of nowhere!

She giggled when she mentioned everyone was stiff. "They are! I heard them murmuring something about some glowy water too, and some seemed perplexed with it while others were fawning over it. I need to see if myself, if it's still there." She thought.

"Oh, yes!!!" Nara yipped. "I was actually heading to one of the corridors that a lot of lions seem to travel down. There is a small ledge that I think I could fit on above the walkway as a perfect hiding spot." She glanced at Liling, taking in her full size. "Hmm. I don't know if you will fit there though."

Plan B?

The adolescent tilted her head in thought, before shaking it in a no, "Nope, for all that I've been playing, I haven't come across them." She pondered that for a moment. It did seem strange that she hadn't come across the source all this time. Oh well, whoever it was, they were livening things up.

As Nara kept talking, Liling's eyes went wide, "Glowy water? I don't think I've heard of that yet. I hope it's still there, I'd like to see it too!"

And then she clucked a tongue, "Just because I wouldn't fit, doesn't mean I can't find other ways to scare people." She grinned, "One of us could make noises and when they turn to run the other way, the other jumps out and really gives them a scare." She glanced between there white coats thoughtfully, "I bet we could pass off as ghosts too."

“Hmmm…” Nara hummed, thinking. “Maybe we should make it a mission to find out who they are then! They could join us. I mean…two is better than one, but with three?! It’ll be a party!” The young goddess in disguise giggled. She didn’t have many friends that were either her age, or a mortal for that matter. The thought of possibly having more excited her.

When it came to the glowy waters, Nara bobbed her head. “Maybe we should go there first. I mean, I don’t know if that will stay there forever! At least we can say we saw it in case it does disappear?” Nara offered with a grin. “We can always try scaring others after.”

When Liling mentioned she may have been too big, but there was other options, the young goddess nodded in agreement. “Ohhh that is a good idea. We do don’t we! We both are white. We will be able to scare all the fur off the pride members!” The goddess laughed. The question was, what would happen to the two of them if they got caught? A bridge they would need to come to if that were to ever happen.

Oooh, that sounded interesting! Liling grinned back at the other, eyes brightening at the idea, "That sounds like a great idea, but you're right," she hummed, "we should see the glowy water first, before it goes away."

She debated what to do for a moment, and then gave a decided nod, "Let's do this then: we'll go see the water, and we can come up with a plan of action for scaring people while we're there. Then we'll come back, search for whoever it is, and return to our scaring plan."

Oh, youth, trying to fill all their plans in one day.

With a flick of her tail, Liling turned and started heading towards the exit. "Come on, Nara! Let's go see the glowing water."

Fin!

Nara nodded. The beach was... She looked around. "Hmm. This way I think!" The lioness pointed in the direction she thought was correct. Maybe she should have had a tour of the pride before she was left to wander by herself.

"Yeah. We can walk and talk to decide," Nara's ear flickered towards a disembodied sound. "And. We should also find out afterwards who is trying to scare others too! See if they want to join us." She grinned when Liling mentioned the same thing.

When the adolescent headed out, the disguised goddess followed behind. Oh, this would be fun!
