Hustle and Hulabaloo aside, some stones had to be unloaded early to make way to pave. Or something more cleverly put, the Corrupted of Execution tried to mull around nouns and verbs into something that meant the situation current: making an energy drop from some schmoo’s early to ensure freetime later. It was also part of the plan to act normal, as much as that was ever a goal, for practice being an awesome Spy. Moving through the living space, the barracks, provided a handful of voices and presences to try to pass without drawing attention: step quietly, move with consistent pace and medium speed so as not to draw instinct-attention. But something did draw the senshi’s attention. There’d been a small, but quick dart of black in the tail of the eye on the way past one of the communal barracks rooms. It was probably a personal youma. Probably nothing to worry about. Continuing along the chosen trajectory, a General was spotted to approach about energy turn ins.

Silk had been around today, like, doing his thing. As in parading around Negaspace to being to use his human form and mess around on his tablet. Today he decided to move about while he surfed the Nega-net, and that's when he spotted IT!It was that SENSHI THING which was plaguing him with the greatest mystery of all since he had met it. WHAT WAS IT? Silk had the awful need to slap labels on things. Since he couldn't figure out what to slap the Machine with, aside from It, and even that wasn't satisfying, the senshi consumed his thoughts when he wasn't thinking about other things. Seeing this as the perfect opportunity to spy on them, Silk immediately stowed his tablet back into space, and believe it or not, assumed his cat form again. With it being smaller, dark, and not to mention the aura smaller, it was the perfect form to hunt his prey. The kitten even went as far has to slip out of his fluff and stuff it under a nearby piece of furniture. Keeping the corrupt senshi in his sights, Silk took to prowling after them, sticking to the walls and lying low, golden eyes narrowed. He was going to figure it out.

The general was, in fact, making their way to a table that they and some pencil-pusher looking officer had set up. It looked a temporary set up. The important thing is that there’s that stack of energy orbs on the right side of it. And that one is taking notes. And A CAT. A starcat was lengthening luxiously on the approach-side of the table. While the people might not think one way or the other about something, anything, in the hallway, a cat might take notice if there was anything unusual. Anything with boring eyes that could impart a Feeling Of Being Watched. It was the very kind of feeling that Machine had ratchetting up c***k by c***k the bones of the spine. “Haeeeeeeyo, got some orbs.” The Corrupted drew the things out to roll with deliberate, casual, nothing-wrong-here aplomb of bell-ball cat toys at the stretched out paws of the Mauvian while taking in the Info agent an the General. Then the cat. Casual like. Seeing what the Mauvian was interested in.

Reven had hitched a ride into Negaspace earlier that day with the intent of spending a bit of time in HQ as well as observing and learning. She hadn't quite manage the former yet, having been distracted by the fond attention of a pair of differently ranked officers collecting and logging energy orbs. They'd probably introduced themselves at some point but the kitten couldn't have named them. They really weren't terribly important agents in the grande scheme of her narrow little world view, but the one did know how to scratch behind an ear. Her attention shifted from petting hands to the senshi that bounded into the room to spill a few orbs onto the table in her general direction. Reven extended a paw to catch them, one at a time, to drag them in close against her body. That's when she noticed the dark little shadow lingering in the doorway. She stared at it for a second or two, puzzled, before recognition sparked and her ears snapped to attention, tail tip twitching back and forth. What was he doing? Why wasn't he coming in to say hello, or what's up, or drill her on what she had or hadn't managed to accomplish yet since the last time she'd seen him. She looked a question at him.

Silk was glaring two smol laser beams into the back of Machine's uniform, even as the senshi thing stopped to turn in what looked like quota. Linger in the doorway he did indeed, a corner of his head poked out just so that he could see but still be ninja like. Cat like instincts couldn't help but have him get distracted by rolling orbs, which happened to be caught by...he squinted. Was that Reven? The other Chaos kitten seemed to recognize him, and his golden eyes widened briefly in shock before he was rapidly shaking his head. Stop looking at me stupid you're going to blow my cover--- He pointed a paw at the Machine, well, more like jabbed a few times, and then made a prowling motion with his body, coming out of the doorway a few steps before he leapt back behind it. The corner of his head poked out again, so that he could keep an eye on the wily senshi.

Catching and keeping orbs made the tablecat distinctly and pleasantly dragon-like. Did the energy feel different to fur, whiskers, or catbeans? Did Mauvians have to concentrate to keep the orbs formed as orbs instead of lost disappation? Mauvian anything was a mystery. The questions remained, burning and unasked, against the curiosity that resisted turning and following what the little mauvian was staring at in the hallway. Behind. There's TOTALLY something back there. Something behind me. "A Lot of Quotas in Today, eEYYYY?" That was probably all it was, right? Someone else was on their way down the hall to do their own turn in. That was normal. Everything was normal. Machine winked at the tiny table cat, "You're gonna have a horde today, little Smaug. Don't Work Too Hard!" Nothing to worry about right? RIGHT? The Machine tipped a non-existent cap at the turn in staff in farewell and turned from table to down the adjacent corridor. It sounded like there were steps and sounds of other officers and habitation. It was always a good idea to take a turn around the block to see faces and familiarize. And more practice to make less noise oneself. And ....lose any tail, not that there was a tail, it was just someone else ....turning in. kuropeco Establishing shot for cameo! [10:36 PM] Ivynian: coooool.... @kuropotato :potato: are you cool with alabaster in the hall getting surprised hugged and asked about if he sees a cat 'back there'?

A snowy brow lifted at Silk before Reven grasped the situation(or thought she had, in any case) and gave a small nod in understanding to the other mau. She wouldn't interfere with whatever stalky business the other kit was in the middle of, no matter how immediately curious it made her... Blue-green eyes flicked back up to the corrupted senshi Silk was following, and she wondered idly just what it was about them that had the other mau so interested in them. Why they were special. Maybe it was his senshi? Stalking them seemed an odd response to that, but hey, maybe bonding was different for all mau, and it really wasn't as if her and Hydra's connection had presented itself smoothly. Whatever. I'll ask him later.Reven's tail gave a thoughtful little flick before she pulled herself from her inner thoughts and back into the present. "A fair few." If it was or wasn't Reven wouldn't have known. She knew what Hydra had to collect, but really didn't have much of a clue as to how many active agents they had gathering energy, or how often they turned in their quotas. Still, engaging the senshi kept their attention on her, rather than the kitten in the hall, right? She smirked at being called little Smaug, pleased with herself for getting the reference, and nodded in return to the senshi. A flick of bright eyes showed the hall absent of obvious predators, so she did bother trying to call the senshi back, and merely returned with a sassy "See ya!" As the senshi disappeared around a corner.

This senshi thing was just WEIRD. For some reason it made the kitten think of a record player. Like on TV. Went along making sounds and then the needle hopped randomly FOR NO REASON and then it emitted a high squealing sound. Like eEYYYYYY. He was going to figure this thing out. As Machine moved past the table and started down another corridor, the black kitten was quick on it's heels. He glanced up at Reven with a nod of 'hey' and 'thanks, I guess' but didn't spare the other kitten anymore time. He was on a mission and thus would catch up with her later. Ugh. It was harder to sneak in the hallway. His only cover was random bits of furniture and doorways if he could press himself into the dents. His little eyes continued to glare into the back of the senshi, and he liked to pretend it made it through that obnoxious amount of hair and that Machine could feel it. Feel that DREADFUL OMINOUS FEELING THAT WAS HIS GREATNESS.

Alabaster was just wandering around minding his own damn business.
Nothing suspicious (for once). Nothing untoward (for once). Nothing completely and totally inappropriately unsavory or ridiculous or outrageous (for once). In fact, all he was doing was calmly making his way down a hallway, his cane clicking on the echoing floor beside him.
Really, what he was doing was just walking around making himself look impressive. Because he was impressive.
Totally.

Step-a-step-a-steppy, turn, and There was a familiar face- ” BRIEFCASE! “ Stillz’ officer was no sort of sight for sore eyes, but a recognizable one. There weren’t too many suits so far as Machine’s experience yet told. Romano wore a suit, technically, right? Maybe? Couldn’t shake the feeling, so the surrogate teammate’s-teammate was a good way to get some information, right? The corrupted crossed the remaining hall distance between them with lengthened strides. Then opened arms wide, intending to throw each well around the man’s shoulders in a close, chest-to-chest hug so as to have access to his ear to whisper into in a moment. “How’s it shakin'? Longtime no squeeze!-” That feeling certainly wasn’t shakin’ out. That feeling of being watched.

Silk wanted to groan. WAS ALL THIS THING DID WAS SOCIALIZE AND MAKE GOO GOO EYES AND PASSES AT EVERYTHING IT CAME ACROSS? Silk paused underneath a rather narrow table, glaring up at the two figures from the scant cover it provided. Of course the weird senshi thing would be buddy buddy with an GREASE BALL. Ugh. Still, as annoyed as he was, he paid close attention. If anything or SOMETHING would give a clue in these interactions as to what Machine was...then it was a successful stalking mission.

Alabaster froze.
Was that -
It was. With a slight cringe that was probably visible, Alabaster twisted around, a placid smile pasted on his face, and then found himself abruptly crushed to the chest of the senshi that had been with Stillwaterite when he'd been corrupted. A breath of air squawked out of his throat.
"Uh - yes - " Alabaster wheezed. "Yes, I'm doing great, thank you, uh - "
s**t he'd forgotten the name. Alabaster raked his memory.
"Weenie, was it?"
That was totally right.

“Machine, Esé, Machine’ll do, “ and the corrupted leaned in to that manicured, glamoured ear and whispered, “Do you see anything back there? Behind me? What is there? “
“I swear there’s something following me. Something Secret. Something dark. “ “Stillz’ treatin ya right? Got the handbook down to the letter? What’s shakin’ your bacon these days?”

AND--- This thing didn't know how to use an indoor voice! Never mind that more often than not, he didn't know how to use one either. He wasn't dealing with himself right now. He was dealing with Machine. The kitten couldn't help but feel like more was being exchanged than what he could see. Without realizing it, the kitten leaned a bit outside of his scant cover, ears turned in the two agents' direction to see if he could gleam anything more from the conversation. Silk cringed when the corrupt thing ended up raising it's voice again.

Machine was almost close enough to what he'd had in mind.
Almost.
Alabaster tried not to shudder as the corrupted senshi leaned in, tried not to show just how utterly flustered he was at this entire situation because someone was touching him and someone was really all the way up in his space and this was not a situation that he was used to.
Mostly because people tended to avoid him but that was beside the point. Alabaster attempted for a Very Cool Facade, opened his mouth to make some sort of smooth remark, and heard the barely audible whisper close to his ear, a shiver running down his spine instinctively.
"Uh - "
He cleared his throat hastily without doing the very obvious thing of looking around for exactly what was following Machine. Alabaster was, at least, a very good liar.
Mostly.
"Stillwaterite is doing very well, yes, she's a lovely, er, superior," said Alabaster. "I'm not entirely sure if I have the handbook down or not, but, er, disregarding my bacon, I think I'm doing pretty damn good if I do say so myself."
He dropped his own voice, coughing to try and disguise it.
"I don't see anything I think...maybe? A shadow?"
It kind of moved. Maybe it was a youma.
