~ Alex sighed as she took a break, she set down her long scythe, pointed end driven in the soft ground to keep it upright. She walked over to the shade of a nearby tree where she had a bottle of water waiting. She opened it and sniffed the contents. A long standing habit she developed and wouldn't be letting go anytime soon as it had spared her a miserable experience multiple times in the past. She then took a couple sips carefully tasting the water before drinking it, almost emptying the contents completely. She closed the cap and set the bottle back down. She looked up at the sky as the hot afternoon sun blazed down on the now quite town she protected. Most of the villagers were inside in attempt to escape the horrid heat wave that seemed to be slowly passing though over the week. Though the heat also meant Alex's job was easy for the time as not even the bandits that troubled the people had the energy to do anything but lay low in their camp and do the bare minimum to survive. Alex, on the other hand, refused to give in and become lazy in the heat. She had trained in an environment much hotter than what her current town was on its hottest day; and so she was still going strong training for hours on end. Taking advantage of the quite to sharpen her skills even more than what was possible when she spent so many hours just patrolling the town's borders, keeping the bandits away from the people's resources.


Alex sighed annoyed, she was expecting a… package… of sorts, but it was taking forever to arrive and she had to stay close to the cabin she resides in until it arrived as it was not something that could just be left outside without a signature stating she received it. After her short break the girl left the small shade and picked her scythe back up and picked up on the training right where she left off. The scythe heavy in her hands yet she swung it with perfect control effortlessly from many years of training and practice it had become second nature. Just as how she could fight with almost any sword or dagger she held. For training she wore her training leathers, which were heavy and covered all her vital organs as well as her main pressure points. She wore heavy boots meant to protect her feet from anything and her ankles from twisting the wrong way or taking too much impact when she jumped or moved suddenly. Around her waist was a belt with multiple pouches holding anything from poisons and weapons, to first aid and emergency rations to a small bit of money should she find a need for it. Her shoulder length red hair was tied back in a messy ponytail as it had begun to loosen from how long she'd been training, a small amount of sweat dripped from her body, her exposed skin gleaming in the sun as she moved.


While she was training the van with her package finally arrived and while quite annoying and stupid the people making the delivery were smart enough to find her around back to where Alex was, bringing her new pet with them. Though Alex didn't acknowledge them immediately as she find finished the moves she was on she did, eventually, set her weapon back into the ground and approached an annoyed expression on her face. “You're late.” She stated looking over her purchase with cold, careful eyes making sure he was unharmed and as she was told when she bought the blue haired male a few days prior. As she examined her new pet the trader attempted to make excuses for being late but Alex only ignored them, annoyed by them blabbing on and on. ‘Shouldn't it be too hot for him to be going on like that?’ She thought to herself annoyed. ~




OOC: Well, here it is! My starter! Hope ya like it! Lol and just let me know if you ever think I should 'tone down' Alex. As I said it's been a while since I've played her so I might try over doing some traits or that while I re remember how exactly I meant her to be played. Haha sweatdrop

~ Alex finished examining the male noticing how heavy his robes we're and the sweat running down his brow. It was much too hot out for anyone unused to the heat to be wearing clothes like that. With a small shade of her head she held up her hand to the male still rumbling on to silence him as she hadn't listened to anything he had said. “I don't care for all your rambling, let me just sign the papers and you can get on with your day.” She said her annoyance showing in her voice toward the guard who was able to sense her mood and was quick to comply handing over the papers so Alex could sign what she had to and get on with her day.


Once the guard left she relaxed, but only slightly. “The doors open, it's only slightly cooler inside but you shouldn't be in this heat if you're unused to it, I'll clean up and be in in a moment.” She said not wanting the male to pass out on her from the heat. Even as she spoke Alex had already started to move the targets she'd been using, her weapon would be brought in to be cleaned and sharpened after the use. But even then she was aware of what the male was up to. ~

~ Alex made fast work of cleaning up her training supplies before she reclaimed her weapon from the ground and headed inside with it. Once in the small cabin she set the scythe down to be cleaned before being put away. But first she would have to deal with her new pet whom she found easily enough. “Hey boy, what's your name?” She asked, though she already knew it from the paperwork she wanted to give him a chance to answer, and it would also let her see a bit of his character as well as to give him a chance if he had another name he'd rather go by. Though there was no guarantee she would, it gave him a chance to at least mention so. ~

~ Alex noticed that he looked a little bit surprised by her getting in but just figured he'd expected her to take longer. Even though her 'clean up’ wasn't really much more than setting up for next time and making sure she didn't leave and dropped weapons or the like behind for a town's Person to find if they came by for whatever reason. “Very well, Kamui it is then.” She replied. Though Alex was not one to be walked all over she did believe in good introductions, and preferred to use a name over nothing more than a simple title or rank around those she lived among. “My name is Alexandra Mayhem. However I go by 'Alex’ and if you think to use any other part of my full name for any reason than you will suffer greatly.” She stated her voice growing dark with the threat. There were very, very few people alive who knew her full name, and only those few could dare to utter it. However she wasn't going to bother trying to hide it either as one way or another Kamui would have figured it out from living with her so it was just better to tell him straight up but make it clear to never use it.


“All of that said I will show you around the house and you can clean up while I take care of my job. If you wish you can start cooking something for dinner. There's fresh meat in the kitchen, and herbs and stuff outside in a garden on the side of the cabin.” She stated. Though Alex wasn't huge on gardening she strongly believed in being able to take care of herself and that, in her eyes, included providing her own food. She then started to show Kamui around starting with the downstairs and then the upstairs, ending with his room and only showing him the closed door to hers as she saw no need for him to go in at that moment. ~

~ Alex watched him while she showed him around. The male seemed pretty dull so far, but hopefully that would change soon. She watched him look at his room better, at least there was some kind of response, even though she wouldn't have called it 'nice’ seeing as the room was plain at best she figured it was probably a big step up from where the slavers kept him. “You can do as you like with the room as long as there's nothing permanent to the room itself. As everything is technically being borrowed from the town while we are here. However if you would like a extra blanket or something than I may be willing if you are good. That said, anything you wish to collect has to be easy to bring with us when my contact with this town expires.” She stated. Even though Alex wouldn't be leaving for some time still she was always ready, and expected Kamui to be as well.


With that the red haired female turned to leave him to his devices. “I have to go, but I will be back in about an hour's time. Stay inside, or in the garden and don't let anyone inside or even answer the door.” She said, wanting to be there when she introduces Kamui to the people. “Also, I don't care if you use magic as long as you don't damage anything or anyone, or use it in front of anyone other than myself unless I tell you it's okay.” She stated remembering he was a mage but that he had yet to show anything, to her knowledge at least. ~

~ Alex gave a small, approving nod when her new pet acknowledged her, even if a bit bland he was at least had some respect in there. A good trait for someone in his position to have. With that she put on a few more pieces of her leather protection and some small pouches holding some extra weapons she didn’t need for training she left the cabin. She had been hanging around for the day awaiting her pet but now that he arrived she could complete her own job. By then it was a bit past noon so the sun was at its hottest but Alex was hardly bothered by it as she spent a bit over an hour checking well for any signs of trespassing. The town people only used a couple small paths for hunting so she wasn’t too concerned about a few foot prints from there but she did still check that is was secure from the bandits that targeted the town. As she went Alex also reset her markers so that she knew the moment someone attempted to enter from the forests and she could react. She was skilled at her job and made no mistakes, she couldn’t afford to after all.

Once she finished Alex went back to the now magically cooled cabin and took off her leathers setting them aside to be cleaned when she cleaned and sharpened her weapons for the night. She wondered what Kamui was up to but didn’t think too much of it as she went up to her room and took a nice shower, allowing the warm water to run down her muscles to keep them from aching after her training. Once she was about to get out she switched the water to cold to cool off her body a bit so that the heat outside wouldn’t cause her to over heat. She then dried herself completely before dressing again in a fresh set of cloths and going in search of her new pet. ~

~ Alex looked at Kamui when he found her and smiled, that was an expression she wasn’t used to seeing often. She nodded as he reported to her. “You are correct that no one came by, that is about the normal here. The towns people only really come around if they need something and it can’t wait until I go into town next.” She replied, she hadn’t expected anyone, but she also wouldn’t have put it past them to attempt snooping around if they say the slavers pulling up to her house. Even though she’d made sure they used the back way the townspeople could still be quite nosey some days. “The magic barrier isn’t needed at this time, I already have some defenses set up to keep intruders out unless I let them in. But they can still reach the door to knock and stuff they are unable to look inside the cabin or get in though any windows as long as you don’t let them in.” She replied. Though it just looked like a simple, normal, cabin to the untrained eye Alex was an assassin by trade and thus knew exactly how to secure her home and what any enemies, trained or untrained, would look for to get in.


Alex had seen magic barriers before, and didn’t trust them very much. They were much too easy to break though if someone really wanted to, or the magic user was for whatever reason unable to solely focused on the spell, or tired it would leave holes. She didn’t like that idea even though the town was fairly safe of a place she was still a assassin and thus always alert and knew that an attack from another of similar trade may target her. That was just the type of life she was raised and trained in. ~
