Getting there hadn't been all that hard. Reven had hitched a ride with Hydra into Negaspace, and had given the girl a rub along her ankles in parting along with an assurance that she'd be fine before trotting off to search for the Mauvian headquarters. Only, she didn't know where that was, and after about twenty minutes of slinking along halls and peeking into offices she finally gave up and summoned her tablet.

Silk had told her she could message him anytime, so here was hoping he'd meant that. And his offer to show her around, because she was intending to collect on that. Today.

Maybe she should have messaged him first, before she'd had Hydra bring her here...

Oh well.

Sinking back on her haunches the dainty kitten opened the tablet and pulled up the message field so she could open a new conversation to shoot Silk a message.

[Silk:] Here in Negaspace, where's HQ? Got time to show me those thumbs?

Silk happened to be around already. He liked Negaspace. It was the only place he could safely parade around in human form like all the time. He asked Adamantine to bring him here earlier, and she had been awesome and had done so. She would also come get him later, so that was cool! The Guardian was currently seated in HQ with his tablet with he got the message, and quickly swiped over to it to reply.

[Reven:] In HQ. Yeah. Where are you?

Despite not getting an answer yet, he sprung out of his chair and made his way to the door, eyeing the tablet for a reply.

The reply had been more prompt than Reven had been expecting, and not only was he available, but he was here! She grinned as she tapped out an answer to his question.

[Silk:] Beginning of the long hall with all the offices. I might be lost.

Message sent, the kitten settled down into the classic 'loaf' position to wait for either the other guardian to locate her, or for directions to their headquarters. Until then it was probably wisest to just stay put.

Oh okay. Silk knew where that was. Instead of replying, the Guardian condensed his tablet back into the pen form, and slipped it into one of his sleeves. It took a wee bit of time for him to make it there, but once he did, it was easy to spot the white kitten against the dark environment. Without much warning, Silk just reached and scooped up the Reven loaf. It was pretty bomb having hands to do that with. It also was novel to be the one picking up a Mauvian and not the other way around!

"Yo." He greeted, setting the pale kitten on his shoulder, and immediately started to back track towards HQ. "So take notes and s**t of where it's at, got it?"

Surrounded by numerous chaotic auras it would have been pretty much impossible to pick the approaching Silk out of the many, so when he scooped her up it was startlung. Claws out and legs stiff she made a made a snatch for her tablet, missed initially, and finally sent it back where she'd summoned it from by the time she realized it was Silk that had picked her up.

By the time he set her on his shoulders she was calm and collected again and she settled comfortably into the soft fluff of his collar. "This place is like a maze," she huffed, tail curling around and down over his shoulder. "Is there an easier way to get here, there, whatever?"

While he walked she paided attention to where they were going, trying to get her bearings.

"Yeah." Silk replied. "You get used to it when you're here more, but since you haven't, can't say I'm surprised." He turned his head to look at her, and pointed down. "Also helps when you're taller and you got feet!"

The Guardian turned some corners and went down more halls. "Oh, yeah, actually there is." He made a face. "Apparently there's a teleporter to HQ from the Negaverse school. You know that place? Romano's or whatever. It's in the teacher's lounge...but just getting to that school is ******** out of the way. It's easier still to just grab someone to teleport you to Negaspace." It wasn't too long until they reached their destination.

"So here's the door to HQ." Silk informed, and then pointed at two scanners. One lower, closer to the ground, and one higher, more human height. "These check to make sure you're a Mauvian. They scan your stars." He activated the scanner, and after a few moments the door opened, allowing them access. He stepped in, letting the door close behind them, and then swung out a huge sleeve to gesture to the Chaos Mauvian Head Quarters.

"Ta da." His voice sounded sarcastically flat saying that, but he was pleased to be back none the less. He liked this place a lot. Silk reached for Reven, both hands lifting her off of his shoulder where he then placed her on the ground.

"Go check it out and stuff."

She'd take his word for it becoming easier to navigate over time. Everything looked very much the same from one hall to the next, but she hadn't been there which yet to really know what was what. Having a taller perspective did help. From her perch on his shoulder she could see considerably farther than on her own short little legs. Reven tried counting corners and mentally noting which way they were headed, but she suspected it was something she'd pick up over time.

At the door she edged a little further forward on his shoulder to give the scanners an interested look, bright eyes tracking the bit of light that swept 9ver the dark star between his pale bangs. It's like something out of a sci-fi game.

She wasn't entirely sure if she was over or underwhelmed with headquarters itself. It was pretty awesome, but in her mind she might have built it up a but more. Still, as he picked her up to set her in the ground, she eagerly trotted over to the closest counsel and jumped up into the counter so she could see the screen better.

"So what all do we do here?" She asked as she looked back at him over her shoulder.

Silk pulled his pen out of his sleeve and expanded it back out into tablet form. He was pulling up some of his tabs he was perusing prior, when Reven asked a question. "Eh?" He glanced up at her, and it took a moment for his brain to catch up with that she asked. "Oh." The Guardian came over, standing nearby.

"Anything you want, really." He answered. "It's really like a place to easily make your goals and s**t happen." Silk pointed at the computer she was at. "Has access to the internet, in addition to the Negaverse database." He jabbed a thumb over his shoulder. "Workbenches and tools in case you got any physical projects." He reached and poked the star on her forehead.

"So knock the cobwebs out and think of things to do."

The Guardian moved to take the computer station next to her, but he just parked himself in the seat and propped his feet on the desk.

She sat as he came over to stand beside the counsel, tail curling around to wrap around her toes, flicking gently. "Oh." Does that mean there's games? It seemed unlikely, but hey, what did she know? Question for another day, though.

"I've never looked through the Negaverse Database," she admitted thoughtfully, wondering if she should have by now. Of course, up that point she hadn't exactly needed to know who was who, since she never did anything.

She blinked as he poked her star, bright eyes rolling up to him and tail tip twitching. Feeling, somehow, both chastised and not.

Then she turned so she could face him when he took a seat, head tilted to one side. "What are you working on?"

lucyal
Sorry! Misplaced the tab.
PostPosted: Mon Aug 06, 2018 3:29 pm

"You can look through it now." Silk replied idly. "Just look things over and get used to s**t today, yeah?"

After propping his feet on the desk, Silk was starting to get engrossed in his tablet again, but before he could get too deep in, Reven's question had brought him back. The Guardian paused, clearly torn between not wanting to answer, but also knowing he probably should. His lips twisted, and after a moment he answered, but was clearly a bit embarrassed about sharing.

"Reading up on stuff. Psychology and s**t. Why people act the way they do and behavioral and communication stuff." He trailed off for a moment.

"There's still a lot of hate for corrupt senshi, even though they're on the same side...so I'm reading on stuff about behavior." Also, admittedly, reading up on the psychology of abuse for...well. Regan. To see if he could understand better, since he was delving into this topic.

Yeah, she could look over the database, but...

What he was working on sounded a lot more interesting.

With a thoughtful little hum the kitten rose to her feet, stretched, and then hopped up onto his legs so she could traverse them like a bridge. Up his chest, and back around his shoulders again where she settled into the fluff of his collar.

"How come?" It was genuinely curious, devoid of any criticism or judgement. It was an oddly specific thing to delve into without cause, and it was that cause she was curious about.

Silk was starting to get drawn back into his tablet again, but the Guardian started a bit when Reven suddenly landed on his legs. Luckily he didn't fall off the chair, and lifted his tablet up to make room for her to pass. He watched her until he couldn't see her anymore, and kind of wasn't sure how to feel about this. A Mauvian traversing another Mauvian!? He had done that to Chase and Regan for so long, it was like second nature, that it really hadn't occurred to him that he could be on the receiving end of cat behavior now.

Huh.

At the question, though lacking any judgement, Silk still couldn't help but feel defensive and huffy. He didn't open up much about stuff that was close and actually important to him. Though he was an a*****e, most of the time, he didn't like ridicule...but Reven had the perk of being a fellow Guardian, so in that regard he felt compelled to answer.

"So I can figure it out, duh." Though snappy, it lacked any solid heat. "And tell people they're being stupid and why they're being stupid. There's two corrupt senshi things on my team---er. Three." He kept forgetting the basic a** b***h. Bleh. "One of them---Adamantine---she's way more awesome than a lot of agents I've seen so like...how is it fair that she's treated like s**t because she's a senshi?" It was a rhetorical question, obviously.

"It's not. It's stupid. There's half-youma agents too and like...yeah, I ******** hate youma and they hate me, but half-youma agents get s**t too and that's also stupid."

It was just all stupid in Silk's book.

For her part the pale kitten was oblivious to any discomfort Silk may or may have felt concerning her using him as a cat tree. He was bigger than her, he'd already picked her up once, so that sort of gave the green light for any and all future climbing in her book.

She folded her paws, chin sinking down to rest on them as she waited for him to answer her, or not answer her. There'd been more demand to her question, either.

It was quite the fascinating subject once he really got into it, and probably pretty handy. Reven only had the one human she had to deal with so far, and Rory was pretty easy to figure out for the most part (Except when it came to her affection for Bob), but as she started getting out more, finding other senshi to awaken, she could see how having a better understanding of people would be helpful.

Assuming you wanted to get along with them, which...she supposed she probably should.

"There's that much inadequacy between the agents and senshi?" she frowned, trying to think back to Rory having ever mentioned anything to that effect. "That's bullshit."

He was a bit tense waiting for it. The mockery. Big or small. He waited a few moments, and when it didn't come, the Guardian relaxed. He flipped through some tabs on his tablet, browsing credible sites to read up on about the subjects he was interested in. "It's not like...super ******** obvious---but it's there, yeah. Some agents have more of that prejudice more than others, but Ada---Adamantine, the senshi I work closely with and stuff---sometimes she gets s**t because she's a senshi and...yeah." Also he was reading up on emotional and mental abuse because...yeah. He thought it would help him understand her better...

It was heavy subject matter for him. He was trying to get through it though. "So that's what I'm working on, because I think it's important to help my team. Even if you just got one senshi now, I 'unno, try to find something to do to help her out. Even if that's just getting yourself familiar with being a better Guardian."

Silk trailed off for a moment, and turned his head to look at her better.

"Now you got any other questions? Because if not, I'm not gonna read with you on my shoulder. That's hella awkward."

"Hmm." It was an agreeable sort of sound,a s if everything he was saying made perfect sense. How were they supposed to be guardians to the senshi if they made no effort to understand them in the first place? Or their place in this war. In any case, maybe it'd help her understand Rory that much better.

She felt his attention shift to her and blinked, head lifting to look at him, brows raised. "Oh." Was it? Not being able to access that form, she supposed she wouldn't know. "Sorry." She curled up n Rory when the girl was reading all the time, but Rory wasn't also a cat, so she acknowledged there might have been a difference.

Careful of her claws, Reven made a delicate hop down to his lap and followed the bridge of his legs back to the counsel Silk was currently sitting at. She sat slowly, features thoughtful as she considered whether or not she had any more questions fro him. "Aside from doing your duties as a guardian, what else do you do, like for fun?"

He was trying to work and she knew she was distracting him, but this was really the first chance she'd gotten to have a real conversation with another guardian that wasn't going to treat her like some dumb little kitten.
