Nicknames: Nyara, Nyan
Age: 19
Sex: Female
Sexual Orientation: Pansexual polyamorous
Craft: Beastcrafter apprentice
Rank: junior weyrwoman, Weyrling, Apprentice Beastcrafter (Breeder)
Location: High Reaches Weyr
Physical Description:
With springy dark curls, an infectious grin and a chocolate gaze filled with mischief, Nyara stands apart from a crowd based on the sheer energy she exudes. There is a spring to her step, an endearing lilt in her loud laugh, and a twinkle in her eye that betrays a fierce intelligence and unquenchable thirst for the world around her. This young woman has a large, expressive heart-shaped face, a rounded yet prominent nose, and full lips. Her hair tumbles a little past her shoulders in length, but their volume is impressive.
She has a stocky build and stands at 5’8, with subtle hints of both muscle and femininity hidden in her long, slender limbs. Preferring to dress for practical purposes, Nyaranau nonetheless has slightly eccentric tastes, and likes to personalise her clothes with flashes of bright colour or simply embroidery.
Personality:
Exuberant and passionate, Nyaranau is a bundle of energy at her sweetest and a force of nature during some of her wilder moments. She believes she has a lot to offer the world: opinions, hugs, good jokes, comforting pats- and best of all, her unending love and affection. There's a condition, of course: she thrives on overt flattery and admiration, and needs a great deal of attention and spotlight on herself.
Nyaranau does look out for number one: herself. People are as like to love you as to leave you, so whilst many of her emotions are often on display, she keeps the essence of her heart and thoughts to herself. She loves freely and openly- but hasn't quite learnt how to lower her every defence yet. She fears disappointment- both being disappointed by others, and disappointing them in turn, but more than that she fears abandonment. Proud, she hates to show weakness in front of others, and very little cracks her facade of enthusiastic-bordering-on-aggressive optimism and joie-de-vivre.
Bright and eager, she makes a good student when her attention can be held. She has little in the way of explosive temper, but can become quite snippy if she feels that she has been wronged. Given that it takes her a little while to relax around new people, she can be somewhat tactless and unthinking, caring more for her own woes than those around her. She still has a somewhat selfish and immature view of life, believing that the world owes her for all of the havoc and chaos it has brought into her life. She can be a woman of long- and strange- grudges. Fortunately Nyaranau’s eclectic tastes seep into her sense of humour, which is witty, warm and odd: a great remedy to everyday-drama of Weyrlife.
Positive Trait List Excitable - Intelligent - Passionate
Negative Trait List Fear of loneliness - Self-absorbed - Easily distracted
History:
Rakara was a talented Journeyman Weaver stationed at Igen Hold. An intimate relationship with a man by the name of Evidan resulted in pregnancy, but she chose to hide the baby from him and his family as he was being pressured to pursue his own career. She gave birth to a girl whom she named Nyaranau in 3555. To avoid pressing questions and awkward remarks, Rakara chose to move somewhere she would never be recognised.
High Reaches Weyr became her and her daughter’s new home. Rakara could continue to work on her Craft, and Nyaranau could grow up without any awkwardness in her life. A few Turns later, as a result of a Goldflight, Rakara had a one-night Stand with bronzerider U’zan. In 3558, she gave birth to her son, and named him Ruunan.
And so, at age three, Nyaranau had a little brother upon whom to dote. And she did. He was just the cutest baby and sweetest child ever to bless High Reaches. He won people over with his cherubic smile and easy-going personality, and that meant they witnessed how great a sister and guardian she was. The praise flowed like juice and she found herself enjoying the spotlight.
Clever Nyara began to devise manipulation tactics and silly antics to draw more attention to herself, and during her formative Turns the young girl developed a bit of a reputation as a practical joker. People saw her for her sense of fun, for her laughter and dimpled grins, so Nyara learnt to show that and only that to win people’s favour and affection.
Her relationship with Ruunan grew more distant as they both aged. He was a dreamer, a whimsical child who was content sitting in silence, and Nyaranau was internally frustrated by his lack of desire for, well… anything in life. Where she saw countless amazing opportunities at the Weyr- the pinnacle of which was becoming a Wingleader or Weyrwoman- he was happy to do whatever he was told by whomever had the most authoritative voice.
Eventually she apprenticed into the Beastcraft, where her energy was well-spent tending to the Weyr’s herds on a daily basis. On her fourteenth Turnday, she was found waiting outside of the candidate barracks, traditional candidate garb in hand, awaiting the arrival of the Candidatemaster to officialise her becoming a candidate. A few Turns later, she was exceedingly happy to discover that her brother joined her.
Despite the atrocious devastation caused by Thread, Nyaranau stands proud and tall at every hatching, ready for the day where she can meet her dragon-match and join the toiling Wings of her Weyr. She has also recently discovered that her father is a rider at High Reaches- E’dan of Blue Galxath- but for one of the first times in her life, she isn't certain how to proceed with the information.
Other: Shinos has pre-approved the relationship! =]
Gold Mictecath

Origin of Name: Given how the film Coco is based on Dia de los Muertos, Mictecath's name is based on the Lady of the Dead. In Aztec mythology, Mictēcacihuātl is Queen of Mictlan, the underworld. She rules over the afterlife with her husband, another deity, known as Mictlantecuhtli.
She watches over the bones of the dead and presides over the ancient and contemporary festivals of the dead. These festivals evolved from Aztec traditions into the modern Day of the Dead after synthesis with Spanish traditions.
Inspiration: Remember Me - Coco
Personality: Mictecath is all about family. In fact, this little golden darling will find no greater joy than when she is surrounded by her clutchsibs, her mother, father, and uncle. In fact, this gold will never outgrow wanting to cuddle up with her parents, or checking in with them. She is their baby, after all, and she will never be too big or too old for them! When her family is separated or apart from her, you can bet Mictecath will be there to reach out and check in on them, to ensure they are well, or just to send them a wave of love and affection. She is never too busy for family and will happily cozy up to her clutchsibs and rider to talk about their day, their ups, their downs, and their lives. She will celebrate their joys, and be there for them during the hard times. If she can't fix their woes for them, physically or emotionally, she will have no problem going to her mother or grandmother to get advice, or comfort and reassurance if it's not something anyone can easily fix. Like a good shepherd, this gold is nothing but faithful to family -- and those she considers family -- provided they are good to her and her rider.
Certainly, this queen is nothing if not loving. She has big hearts, and is eager to share her love. She is physically affectionate, and has no problem showing her fondness. Nuzzling, cuddling, touching -- this queen loves to be close to her loved ones. Just as she enjoys cuddling beneath her parents wings, as she grows, she will also enjoy keeping her smaller siblings safe by her side. Love shouldn't be hidden -- it should be freely given and freely displayed, and Mictecath will never shy away from such a thing.
Unfortunately, her fussing, her doting, her affectionate ways can often lead her to unknowingly smother those in her care. She doesn't seem to understand boundaries. Love, attention, and fussing is all well and good -- but Mictecath is known to go a bit too far. Her rider will need to try to encourage the queen to find other outlets, or to give others space, lest her desire to help or care becomes a hindrance. Even with her rider's help, though, Mictecath will always be the sort of queen who will want to know everything about those she loves. She is the sort of queen who doesn't believe in keeping secrets, and if she finds out that someone has kept her out of the loop, you had better watch out that!
Furthermore, this particular queen is known to get a bit over-protective. If a friend, or clutchmate, or wingmate, or someone she cares about finds themselves in a bad position she will not hesitate to get involved. She will use her arsenal to right some wrong, or fix some problem. This can be used for good, certainly, but it can also cause problems if left unchecked. Just because one of her sisters is being picked on doesn't mean she needs to start a fight with the bullies. Just because her rider is being criticized doesn't mean she has to cause a public scene. She isn't afraid to push her weight - or color - around to get what she wants, and that sometimes means getting involved where her nose isn't needed or wanted; or shielding some of her friends from experiences they need. It also can result in her stirring up trouble where there otherwise wasn't any. A trusted wingmate venting to her might well result in the social ostracism of their source of pain, and if nothing else, Mictecath has no trouble going to her mother, father, or grandmother, to get what she needs! If one parent doesn't give her what she wants, she will not hesitate to go to the other to plead her case.
Rest assured, her rider will need to keep Mictecath from holding grudges. The queen can handle a slight against herself well enough -- provided it isn't something absolutely heart shattering -- but should someone turn upon her family or friends, watch out! This queen knows how to hold a grudge, and she will not hesitate to condemn and ostracize the sources of her, her rider, or her families, pain. Should her clutchsibs turn into terrors, she will drive them out! Should a stranger break her heart, she will not forgive them. Mictecath is the sort of dragon who can well be vindictive, and has no problem keeping a list of those she tries to ostracize. Once out of Mictecath's good graces, good luck finding a path back into her hearts.
Positive Traits: Maternal, Responsible, Demonstrative
Negative Traits: Overprotective, Smothering, Vindictive
Adult Size: 47'
Physical Attributes: Mictecath is an average sized gold, but is taller than some, and bonier in structure than some of the queens. As a hatchling she has long legs, which give her a gangly appearance; it isn't something she ever really grows out of, but that doesn't bother her any! Her long limbs allow her to have a swift gait while on the ground. Her neck and tail are long and thin, which makes up most of her length. Once she's in the air, Mictecath makes a lovely sight to see.
Additional Notes: This queen will also have love to give in droves -- she is the sort of gold who won't settle down easily or quickly. Not because she's a heartbreaker, but because she loves freely, openly, and has no desire for her hearts to be chained down. Like her granddam Eveleth, as she grows, she will well enjoy having an entourage of lovers and dragons who might wish to seek her favor.
Additionally, Mictecath will never outgrow snuggling up beneath the wings of her mother and father. She will never be too big for them, and will always be their baby.
Theme Song: Remember Me by Shakira Jasmine
Egg: A small pale blue egg with what looks like a musical note near the center of the clutch. It is curious and wants you to draw near!
Why Me? Nyaranau is a perfect match for Mictecath. To start, this queen is a dragon who is absolutely, positively, oozing with affection and love. Her rider will find herself wrapped up and buoyed by it, and she will never have to fear being alone again. No matter where she goes, no matter whether she fails or succeeds, she will always have Mictecath by her side and with her. Mictecath is a queen who loves her family and is close to her parents and clutchsibs; every relationship Mictecath makes her rider will inherit. Furthermore, Mictecath knows how much Nyaranau enjoys the spotlight--with a queen by her side, she will now have as much attention and flattery poured upon her as she likes! She's a gold rider of High Reaches Weyr now, and likely to be given all the attention she might wish to have.
Nyaranau, for her part, will be strong enough to keep this queen in line.
Where Mictecath can be vindictive, the woman's good humor and joy might be the very balm she needs. Additionally, the woman might well be able to distract the gold from the worst of her darker moods. If nothing else, the two might understand one another, as this queen is known to hold a long grudge, as well. Nyaranau's self-absorption will be evenly balanced by this gold, and perhaps at times tested. Mictecath is often so focused on others (especially her family) that her rider will have no choice but have to think of others by proxy. As a junior weyrwoman of High Reaches Weyr, she will find out that there is much more to being a goldrider than the glamourous lifestyle of all the Harper's tales. As a junior weyrwoman, she will find out quickly that she is there to serve.
