Gathering energy was her mission, she supposed. Energy and starseeds. She had been told that much fairly early on, at least, fairly early on in the timeline of what little she could remember.

A couple weeks felt like her whole life, and yet she was twenty-years-old. It was strange. She had no perspective for it being anything else, but it still felt innately weird. She was twenty. She was far beyond her childhood. She should know more than she did. But she didn't.

She wished she did.

Perhaps that was why she wasn't gathering energy at the moment, instead sitting on her phone, her civilian phone, in fact, browsing around on the internet. Nembus was looking up the meanings of a few words she had heard over the past few days, to attempt to get some background on things she should likely know by now, but didn't. There were some things it embarrassed her to have to look up. She wouldn't talk about them.

Captain--no, General--Marcasite was nice enough, but Nembus didn't want to be constantly nagging her with silly things. She didn't want Marcasite to think her incapable.

A chaos aura caught her attention, and Nembus lifted her eyes to locate it, but decided it was unimportant for the moment as she buried her head back into her phone.

Right now wasn't anything out of the norm for Stillwaterite. It was one of her usual past times. Wandering. Increasing the mental repertoire of places to be able to teleport.

The norm was changed though as she picked up on another Chaos signature. A lower leveled one...similar to her own, none the less! Ah! Another corrupt senshi? The eternal immediately changed course from the roof tops she was sailing across to make a beeline for the other signature. Eternally curious she felt could be her new title.

As she drew closer, Still slowed, casting her gaze this way and that to locate the other and---there.

On her...phone? A brow quirked as she approached, but she smiled regardless as she took in the appearance of the other corrupt. She looked cute. Her hair was really interesting, too! "Hello~" Still greeted as she drew closer. "I hope I'm not interrupting you? I rarely run into other corrupts."

Was the aura coming closer? If it was, Nembus wasn't really noticing. Perhaps it was her newness, but honestly, it was mostly because she really wanted to know what a 'yee' was. Why did people keep saying 'yee' so much? It sounded like a corruption of the word 'yes,' she was pretty sure...

The 'Hello,' though, definitely caught her attention, and Nembus felt her cheeks redden as she tucked the phone away to somewhere unseen. "Oh, uhm, hi." The smile she offered was a little uncertain. What was she doing? She needed to make a good impression. This was one of her own. She had the same type of dark bodice as her, and the same sort of impossibly long hair, as white as it was, and the same cracks that she recognized from her own body on hers...

Nembus cleared her throat, coming to her feet and brushing her skirt off instinctively.

"You're not bothering me!" offered Nembus, attempting to sound totally cool and like she definitely knew exactly what she was doing, one hundred percent all the way. "I was just Googling some stuff."

Yeah, that was it.

"I'm Sailor Nembus! Who are you?"

I'm glad you think so /sob

"Googling some stuff, hm?" The corrupt echoed, entertained by the answer. "On your skivvy phone? You should be careful, alright? It'd be bad if someone or an enemy caught you and got their hands on your personal phone." Stillwaterite paused. "My bad. I'm not here to lecture you. I just want to make sure you're looking out for yourself."

She held out a hand to her. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Nembus. I'm Stillwaterite, or please, just Still. It's a mouthful otherwise." She smiled at the girl. "Are you new?" She wasn't trying to profile but...well. Between the basic aura and the fact she had her civilian phone out? Also that she seemed surprised that she had shown up? She was a touched concerned for Nembus.

'Skivvy phone'? What was a 'skivvy phone'? What was a 'skivvy'? Did 'skivvy' mean civilian? Nembus would have to tuck that away somewhere, or maybe she should pluck out her phone again and Google it now -- what was she doing there was later for that --

"Ah, thank you," offered Nembus, attempting to roll with it. "I appreciate it, anyway. I'm just trying to figure some things out, is all. Staying away from those brighter auras." She wasn't really ready to deal with them yet. She knew she was supposed to -- that was part of her job as a soldier of the Negaverse, to collect energy, collect starseeds. It was one of the few things she knew she was supposed to do.

But she didn't feel ready to attack that mission with gusto yet.

Nembus took the offered hand, shaking it firmly like a woman who held a lot more confidence than she currently held. Best foot forward. Make a good impression. "Still, got it." She was fairly sure the main reason why she retained 'Nembus' was because it was one of the few things she remembered. Had this woman not recalled her name, or had the Negaverse granted her with one? It seemed like it would make her fit more into the institution -- Marcasite, Labyrinthite, Stillwaterite, they were all -ite, and she was not. Interesting.

At being called new, Nembus averted her eyes. She didn't like being called out. She shouldn't have been so new. She was new. "Ah, yeah. Pretty new." New like a newborn baby new. "I assume you're not? You feel... stronger."

"Well, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask." Still assured. "I'll do my best, and if I don't have the answer, I'll find someone who can answer it for you." She shook Nembus' hand firmly in return, and then let go. Hands came to rest on her hips, and she smiled.

"I was new once." She replied. "I've been here for about seven months now...I came in as an eternal but I was pretty lost when I got here. You'll learn, though! We all have to start somewhere, right?" The corrupt wasn't shy about being open and honest about her experiences so far to someone like Nembus, especially with how earnest the girl seemed. Still would have been floundering if it wasn't for Machine and Bus. She needed to pay it forward, and wanted to.

If she had any questions, she was free to ask? But she had so many questions.

She had questions that she didn't even have the words for yet. How could she ask the question when she didn't know the context of the question? She supposed there was one thing she was curious about that she could easily ask, though. For the moment, she tucked that question in her back pocket as Stillwaterite continued talking.

The fact that she said she had been there for seven months but was pretty lost when she got there implied that maybe she had felt as lost as Nembus? But she seemed so well-adjusted now... "Mm, I hope so," murmured Nembus, as loathe as she was to admit it. Admitting to the fact that she didn't know anything of what she was doing was hard, but it seemed that being discovered with her "skivvy phone" might have already given her away on that front...

Curses.

"Seven months? Can you get that powerful in seven months?" Nembus decided to start with a simpler question, and not the one that she was truly curious about--did they all forget like this, or was it just her? Did she know why they forgot? Was there any way to get that memory back?

She hated feeling like a newborn adult.

Still paused because, well, she wasn't entirely sure. Could someone rank up that fast? She'd have to ask. She knew what Nembus was asking though, and laughed a bit, shaking her head. "Oh, I'm sorry. I wasn't clear. When I joined the Negaverse, it was at the level I am now---an eternal. I was apart of White Moon prior, so I had ranked up that way, too."

Black eyes searched Nembus' face as she conversed with the corrupt. She just felt...lost? There was something in her expression that said she was trying to swim and not drown. It came across in her words and mannerisms. The pauses, too.

Nembus wanted to figure out how to quash seeming like a newborn baby cow, wanted it more than anything really, but it was hard to get the feeling to go away when she didn't really have the practice to hide anything, yet.

She needed to get better at lying. She had already started looking up some videos online on that you-tube site about lying, maybe to give her a clue on how to do it herself. If she could get good at that, maybe people wouldn't seem so awkward when they were talking to her, like they were trying to be gentle or cautious with her. Nembus understood why, but it made her feel worse.

"An Eternal?" So that must have been the senshi equivalent to 'General,' noted. She tucked that away. "So you joined like that?" Quieter, she added, "So that means you're like me, a bit," mostly to herself.

But it meant that maybe she knew the answer to her question.

Considering she had already been given away as clueless, it didn't take too much effort to ask, "Is it always like this?" She gestured vaguely at her head. "With the ... lack of remembering much of anything?"

Part of her hoped the answer was yes, so maybe she didn't feel so alone.

"I joined like this, yes." Still confirmed, and cocked her head as Nembus seemed to utter something to herself. She didn't pry. After all, she didn't know her that well, and if she wanted to ask, or tell, then hopefully she would.

When she asked another question though, Still's eyes couldn't up but light up, and some things clicked into place. Oh. Nembus wasn't just new. She was new new. New in the sense she had been seven months...well, almost eight, now, ago. "Not for everyone who joins." The eternal answered. "I have a friend who didn't suffer any memory loss, but then I have another friend who did suffer from it. A lot of it. I did as well. I didn't remember anything when I joined. Sometimes I get bits and pieces. Flashes, but on the whole, nothing's come back for me, really." Her smile turned sympathetic briefly for the other corrupt.

Nembus noticed the sudden change in expression, and couldn't help feeling hopeful. If Still's expression seemed to perk up like that, maybe there was some familiarity in what Nembus had asked?

Not for everyone she said, and it made Nembus curious, admittedly, about what the difference was. Why did she suffer it? Why did Still suffer it? Why had one of her friends not suffered it? She bit her lip a bit as she pondered on that, before catching the thing that truly disappointed her.

Nothing's come back for me, really.

Ah, so that was it then. Just knowing nothing was her life now.

Nembus couldn't help a quiet sigh. She really did have to start over from the beginning. This newborn feeling wouldn't go away without Nembus making herself know the things that someone her age was supposed to. And she was twenty. How would she regain twenty years of life experiences? The prospect was daunting at best, terrifying at worse, and she was jealous of those that didn't suffer the same fate. It was too bad she couldn't just snatch memories instead of energy-- "So you forgot, like me." Nembus confirmed, even though Stillwaterite had definitely just said that. "That's interesting, that it doesn't happen to everyone. Is something different about your friend that doesn't have memory loss?"

She laughed quietly.

"Of course, if it feels like your life just started seven months ago, you may not know more than I do."

After a moment, she crossed her arms under her chest and questioned further, "How do you get ... adjusted?"

The eternal waited for Nembus to sort out her thoughts. Still nodded her head in confirmation, and though it was probably wrong, she did feel a bit of a thrill. It was the relief of knowing she wasn't the only one who had suffered a nearly complete memory wipe coming over. Perhaps it was a selfish feeling, but it was there.

"I'm not entirely sure, aside from the fact she's an agent versus a corrupt, like us." Still answered. Maybe that did matter? She wasn't sure. It had bothered her for a time, but as more time wore on, and she started to settle into a routine with her friends, she started to care less about the loss. In Nembus, she supposed she was also seeing what she could have been like if she had focused too much on the loss. Still smiled at the other.

"Pretty easily, actually." She told her. "You're feeling cast adrift right now, and you just need to orient yourself. Get yourself a routine. Meet new people. Make friends. Try out every food and thing you can because it's all a new experience until you know otherwise." She laughed a bit. "Nembus...it sucks. It really does. The fact we're adults or young adults or close to it, and we lost an entire life time of memories, but from here on it boils down to a choice: you either sink or you swim. You sink if you get caught up in the loss, or you swim by dealing with it and moving on."

Selfish, maybe, but Nembus also appreciated she wasn't the only one. It also meant she felt an instant connection to Stillwaterite, there, beyond the fact that they were both corrupted senshi.

But what she felt stronger than a connection was jealousy--jealousy of those that came to their side without the memory wipe associated. Did this happen to all of the senshi who came to this side? Did the agents get to keep their memories? Why did the senshi not get to keep their memories? It seemed so odd, to her, that they would forget and others wouldn't. She didn't want to forget. She wanted to know.

Nembus wanted to know everything.

It seemed that Still had adjusted to everything by just throwing herself head-first into it. Nembus was trying to do that to some level, but she still felt so uncertain. She felt like she needed to know more before she could pretend to function in day-to-day society. She knew so little, and she was envious of those that did. Still water right--it did suck.

But the advice was good. The only way to learn was to do, right?

"New routine? You mean first routine?" teased Nembus, quietly, before settling back on her back foot. She bit her lip quietly, tossed it all over in her head, and said, with a sigh, "I suppose you're right. This feels awful. Some people look at me like they've gotta treat me like a baby, and honestly? I feel like one." She hated admitting it, even if it was obvious.

"Just gotta figure out where to start, I guess."

Still laughed at the quiet tease. "I mean, you're not wrong." She agreed. "And there's freedom in the fact that it can be whatever you want it to be."

The comment about being treated like a baby had the corrupt reflecting. Had anyone treated her like that? She thought back to her first few months post-awakening, and realized that no, no one had treated her like that. She, like Nembus, may have felt like one, but everyone she had met so far and talked to hadn't belittled her in anyway (except for Wolfeite, but he belonged in hell, so he didn't count). She had a feeling a lot of that was due to Machine and Bus making sure she was squared away. She owed them so much.

Still leaned forward a bit, clasping her hands behind her back and grinning at the corrupt suddenly.

"It's all about your stride, friend." She told the other. "Wherever you go, you walk in like you own the place, and you don't let anyone think otherwise. Fake it until you make it." The corrupt straightened, and then reached to pull one of the garter belts on her uniform. "One of my friends told me I look like a pirate dominatrix." She laughed a bit. "Maybe that's why no one treats me like a baby."

She winked, and let go of the belt, letting it snap back onto her thigh.

"Maybe they'll think I'll spank them."

She supposed that was true. It wasn't like she was necessarily tied to much, at the moment. There was Renegade Media, she supposed; that did give her some level of expectation at the base. And she was a member of the Negaverse, senshi though she may be: she was expected to patrol, to get better, to harvest energy and starseeds for the cause.

But other than that, her life was literally a blank book.

It would be interesting if it wasn't so utterly terrifying.

Nembus was taken aback a bit by the grin, but she did her best to keep her expression friendly and neutral. Stillwaterite was so confident. Considering she had started out where Nembus did, just more powerful, it was a wonder that Still had gotten herself there. Nembus needed to figure out how to do the same. How to emulate her, maybe. How to act like nothing had ever happened and it was all fine. Maybe she needed to do more research...

That being said, she couldn't help cracking up at the pirate dominatrix imagery, thoughts derailed with the snap of the garter belt.

"A pirate dominatrix?" Her brows raised, as she snickered again. "I can see it, honestly!" Unfortunately, the internet being what it was, certain things she figured out ... rather quickly. "Garter belts kinda help the image. Looking like a dominatrix would probably stop the baby imagery, I would hope. Clearly I need to get myself a few garters."

She was kidding. ... Mostly.

Admittedly, Nembus liked her uniform. Definitely didn't do much to help the baby image though.

"I'm just wearing a black leotard. Though I suppose the boob window might help things..."

Anyway.

"That was part of me using my, uh," she squinted, "skivvy phone, though. I hope if I learn more info, I'll get some more confidence."
