The dogs happily dragged their passenger along as they trotted down the sidewalk like some flotsam being tugged along by ocean currents. Dawn didn’t mind really. She was a rather average fourteen year old, a active fourteen year old with Bright strawberry blonde hair… who was currently surrounded by half a dozen dogs with more energy than the average four year old. She had gotten rather practiced in corralling a small collection of dogs since she did this every other day once school let out but this time she had three new puppies in the mix and they were bouncing all over the place.
Dawn loved dogs, she really did, but she was looking forward to returning those three pups back to her neighbors sooner rather than later. “Humperdinck!” The young girl ‘cursed’ as she had to stop once more when one of the pups got himself tangled again. “Goldie, how many times do I have to tell you. Your going to strangle yourself that way!” Scolding the dog did no good since it just tried to lick every bare part of her it could reach while she did her best to detangle the little golden retriever puppy. By the time she had gotten the one dog untangled the other two pups had twined themselves into a stop which in turn wrapped the older dogs into one large Gorgan knot of dogs, leashes, and a young girl.
The simplest thing to do would be to let go of the leashes but that risked the puppies scattering to the four winds. She knew she could figure out something given enough time… and if she wasn’t in the middle of the knot of dogs just as tangled in the leashes as they were. “Poop!”

Jordan had, once upon a time, walked dogs; they had more tolerance for animals than they did people (which, comparatively, wasn't hard at all; hell, they liked plants more than people, they liked most things more than people), but as all things did, it had come to an end. That end had, mostly, been because Jordan was a very pale person and didn't tend to freckle -- mostly they just burned, come excessive exposure, and when the choice was between 'half an hour of enjoyment and a week of pain' or 'just spend all your time inside' they went for the latter. They had a lot of very poor memories of Florida and a childhood Disney trip. It had not been a great way to find out they got all the 'burn like a vampire' genes. Still, though - they could manifest up the barest verge of sympathy for a kid faced with the trouble that was too many dogs. "Hey there," they called, "are you alright? You look like you could use some help with..." A broad, sweeping gesture of the hands. "You know. The dogs." Fiction1119 jordan mostly just assuming dawn won't turn help from a twenty-something lady down. if she does they will absolutely leave her to the dogs

At the friendly voice Dawn glanced up and saw a person standing there. “Oh that would be fantastic!” She practically bounced in place at the offer of help or she would have been if she wasn’t twisted in the pile of leashes and dogs. “Goldie, Princess, and Fred are the pups. They are the ones that have wrapped us up. Didn’t you, you rascals.” She lightly scolded the three puppies, who of course, ignored her. “My name’s Dawn, what’s yours?” She asked as she tried to figure out the knot of dogs and leashes. “If you could… “ she paused as she tried to figure out the mess she was in. “I’m not sure honestly. I guess if you can hold the leashes for the bigger guys I can try to untangle the pups.” It was tempting to pass the pups off to the helpful samaritan but she wouldn’t subject a stranger to the rambunctious trio. Next time she would walk the pups separately if only to prevent such a situation happening again. Daekie Dawn is a very friendly young girl and wont ever turn down help XD

"I'm Jordan," they half-grinned -- it wasn't energetic or full enough to be a grin, but it was a little more than a smile. (Carefully rehearsed, of course. These things had to be, to keep a facade up.) "And it's no problem -" they looked over the tangle of leashes with a keen eye, singling out the ones belonging to the larger dogs and carefully untangling those from the rest - "dogs can be a hassle. It's part of why I've never wanted one myself -- too much energy to deal with all the time, it'd get tiring." "Actually, I'm assuming they're someone else's dogs, but... you don't own this many dogs, right? That'd be a little insane."

“It’s fantastic to meet you Jordan!” Dawn chirped even as she started to trace one of the leashes to try to get them all untangled. “Oh but dogs are so sweet. They do take a lot of work but I would think that it would be worth it.” Sadly for the young lady she had no pets at all. Just some goldfish. A dog was high on her list of desired pets, along with a cat, and strangely enough a corn snake. “Thats Lord Death by the way but I just call him Lord,” She nodded towards the German Shepherd that Jordan was working on freeing from the mess. “He is such a sweety really. A real gentleman right Lord?” Once again she spoke to the dog in question who was more interested in the smells on Jordan’s shoes then anything the bubbly girl was saying. “Sadly they aren't mine, I just walk them for my neighbors. But I would love to have this many dogs. A huuuuuggggeee house with a ginormous yard would be perfect.” She waved a free hand through the air to indicate what she meant. “Just some fish for me. My parents say its because allergies and that our house isn’t big enough for a pet but I don’t think a hamster or a gerbil would take up that much space. And if it's allergies then a snake would be perfect right?” She rambled on as she worked at the leashes, freeing one of the older golden retrievers. “Can you hold onto Max’s leash? She is really calm, you will just have to tell her to heel and she should stay by your side. I think I can get Fred loose,” Dawn muttered more to herself as she worked on untangling the puppy from around the last adult, a large mastiff looking dog. A Broholmer who was a typical dog for his breed in that he had a heart of gold, loves to snuggle, and always wants to be near her which is why he was the one who was the worse off beyond the pups themselves. “Did you know that Broholmer’s, which is Teddy here, nickname was ‘the butcher’s dog,’ because they were often seen lying at the doorsteps of butcher shops in Denmark. They were a protector of the home and a herder and guard dog of cattle at the farm and in the city’s markets. They still are but they are also giant teddy bears who have no idea just how big they are. Whatever you do don't sit down in Teddy’s presence because you will soon have him trying to climb into your lap.” Dawn snickered and gave the large dog a pat to the head as she continued on her task. “Nearly done I think.” Daekie She likes animals.... and talking >.>'

Jordan's expression could charitably be called 'baffled'; if you were interested in being less charitable, it probably read a lot more like 'uncomfortable', but they'd dug this hole and now they had to lie in it. (Heh. Digging holes and dogs -- that was funny, actually.) They kept still as the dog nosed at them, only half-paying attention to Dawn's rambling, nodding when appropriate and contemplating the virtues of claiming they had somewhere to be they'd forgotten about. But no - it would have been too obviously a ploy, so here they stayed. "A lot of people don't like snakes as pets," they snorted, rolling their eyes, "but as far as I know they're easy to take care of, and they don't stink up the place like rodents do." Jordan gave a click of the tongue at Max as they took her leash, the dog sedately trotting over to sit by their side, and looked at a point to the side of Dawn's head so it looked like they were making eye contact.

“Oh I know,” Dawn sighed and glanced over at Jordan, “I don't really get why people don't like snakes but I know. My mom shot down the idea of a gerbil for the smell factor, I almost suggested a ferret instead just to tease her but I didn’t just in case I can finally wear her down on the whole pet debate. In the meantime I help out my neighbors by pet sitting and taking the dogs for walks.” One pup down, two more to go. She lightly worried at her bottom lip as she quickly got the last two dogs situated. “It doesn’t normally happen this way but the pups are new additions so now I know… next time they get a walk all to themselves.” With a grin of triumph the young girl finally freed herself and the remaining dogs from the knot of leashes, “Got it! Now to jerry rig some knot prevention.” With one problem solved she needed to come up with a way to keep it from happening again. It was all well and good to decide to walk the pups separately from now on but that didn’t help with right now. She couldn’t very well finish today’s walk if Goldie decided to tangle them all up again. It took longer then she really wanted, her bandana, a few safety pins, and a bit of finagling but finally she was happy with what she cobbled together. It was basically the three puppies leashes lashed into one halfway up. They had room to go their own ways but Dawn only had to deal with one leash, and the pups didn’t have nearly as much leeway now as they did before. They could all get tangled again but she figured that it would be quite a bit harder to pull off. “I think I’ve got it figured out. No more Dog Knots for you guys,” She playfully scolded the puppies before turning to her rescuer, “Your welcome to join us on the rest of our walk but I understand if you can’t.” If the young man… woman? she honestly couldn’t tell and didn’t really care really, if they couldn’t join Dawn on the remainder of her walk it wasn’t a big deal. Lord might be a little disappointed since he seemed to like the smells Jordan carried on their shoes but Dawn figured she would be able to handle everyone quite well now.

"Snakes have a bad reputation." Their lips quirked upwards in a half-smile, like it was some little private joke. It wasn't, really; just a stray thought, just an arrangement of words that they'd found funny. "Not one they necessarily deserve, but plenty of people are disgusted by them. It's a shame, really. Pets in general are a hassle -- taking care of fish correctly requires huge tanks, dogs have to be walked constantly, cats are..." Jordan shrugged. "They're cats. People are so vehemently anti-cat sometimes you'd think their entire family line was murdered by an alleycat." They stood and waited, shifting a little from foot to foot, at one point pulling out their phone to check if there'd been any updates from other members of the group -- no, none yet. Great. Perfect. Lovely. Jordan's favorite thing was compensating for other people who left sending answers and confirmations in until the last minute, and it looked like this semester was starting off great on that aspect. "I have somewhere to be, actually, but good luck with the dogs." They smirked. "Maybe you should try to handle a few less next time? It'd be a shame if this happened again."

“Oh but they are just so great!” Dawn gasped out when her rescuer voiced their opinion on pets in general. “They are super affectionate, and sweet, and cute, and kind, and there are like a bajillion actual health benefits of having a pet.” She probably would have continued if one of the dogs hadn’t wined and bumped her leg lightly. “It’s ok,” she reassured the dog while taking a breath. Apparently her excited voice had worried the poor pup, that or they wanted to continue with their walk… either way she needed to continue along her way. Observant blue eyes took in her companion’s antsy behavior. Apparently she isn’t the only one who needed to be on her way. Her suspicion was proven right when Jordan admitted to needing to leave. “Oh definitely, I will be sure to do the pups alone next time,” With a grin she happily took the leashes that Jordan had and quickly situated everything. “Thank you for the help,” She thanked them once more and took a few steps away before adding, “I hope the rest of your day goes well. With luck you won't encounter any more people in distress.” Any further conversation was preempted by the puppies who started to tug her away. “Bye,” She waved as she was once again became flotsam to the gaggle of dogs. Daekie We can call this closed or you can do a exit for jordan as well ^.^
