The sudden influx of what appeared to be a social life had Captain Angelite, for the first time, falling behind on her quota.

It was an irritating prospect, that she wasn't being on top of her game like she normally was. Usually she had things turned in by now, but here she was scraping the bottom of the figurative barrel by finding street transients and drunkards to pick off in an attempt to gather enough energy for the week.

Rising from her stooped position, she pocketed the small orb from the latest victim, some horrid smelling man who was too blitzed out of his brain from booze or drugs (or both?) to know what was going on. What he didn't know wouldn't hurt him - his energy would be put to far better use in the Negaverse's hands than by wasting away another day of addictions.

Glancing at the moon, she guessed it was nearly eleven or so - another hour of gathering and she should find herself caught up on her slacking.

Without his niece to powered babysit tonight, Okolnir could cut loose. Cutting loose in this case meant tackling far more dangerous prey than he would chase with Mimosa. As he swept through he picked up on the Captain aura, and now at Squire level himself, found the footing just a tad more even. He zeroed in on the signature quickly, not wanting to give it any time to escape.

He landed nearby and quickly scanned the area, eyes falling on a familiar Captain.

"Good evening." He greeted with a smile. "Fancy meeting you again~ Like last time, I going to ask you to cease and desist...or else." He brandished his upgrade, which happened to have moved up from a trash can lid to a small metal buckler he held onto now.

Oh of all nights... Why couldn't she catch a break?

Her grin in response was dangerously thin, mouth stretched into a forced smile as she tugged on the bottom of her blouse. Her uniform needed little straightening, as ironed-looking as her civilian clothes tended to be. Still, habit was habit and the glowing orb rested in the safety of closed fingers as she stared down the Squire with narrowed eyes.

"I was just finishing up, actually," she finally responded back. "So I'll be on my way, then, and you can attend to this..."

Her free hand gestured back towards Drunky McDrunk, who snored loudly from his slumped form.

".... lovely individual."

"I think I'll attend to the lovely individual in front of me." Okolnir replied, eyes not leaving her's. "The one who's far more dangerous."

His fingers flexed in preparation.

"You going to teleport, or no? If not, then by all means. Ladies first."

Damn. It would be more sensible for her to teleport but she wasn't nearly finished with her quota yet and if this little pest was patrolling, she wasn't going to get very far with her next target.

“You're too kind.”

Her wrist flicked and the whip materialized, tails falling down parallel to her leg. The other hand opened itself up, exposing the glowing orb of energy still secured in her grasp.

“Injure me, though, and your friend here will have a rough recovery without this pretty bauble.”

She paused, offering him a smile.

“You sure you want to risk that?”

"I know."

He watched her weapon materialize, and knew he was getting what he wanted. A fight. In their first encounter, he wouldn't have described himself as eager to fight her. It was more like it was inevitable, and he had the capability to do so, so he did. Now, though? With this rank up to Squire? He would say that he was looking to fight. With the speed and power boost also came, finally, access to his magic pool. He'd been testing it out, and as long as he managed it carefully...well.

She was in for an unpleasant surprise.

"I am." The squire replied with ease, still smiling himself. "A recovery is still a recovery. I have my eyes on the prize."

That was her, and he lunged.

s**t.

She hadn't expected him to be so impulsive, rushing at her as suddenly as he was despite her threat still dangling in the air. Without a second thought, she launched the orb in an entire other direction, hoping to the powers that be that the stupid Knight would be just as reactive about saving it.

Her other hand held up the whip and cracked it, one foot stepping back. The tails went out as her newly freed hand moved up to try to shield herself.

"Why can't you pests take a night off for once?"

Okolnir's eyes briefly flicked to the energy orb as the Captain threw it, but it didn't deter him from his path or goal. Yes, he probably should retrieve it and return it to the poor sod, but if the man was still alive, and he was, he'd recover. He needed to take care of the Captain.

He was anticipating this, and when she readied her whip, he readied his magic. He cast it on himself, and as the tails of the whip came flying towards him, they bounced off an invisible field. He smirked. Finally. Finally this damned magical business gave him something useful. He let the field fall, because he needed to conserve his magic pool. This gave him what he needed though. For the distance to be closed. "I'll take the night off when you do~"

Once he was within range, the Squire pulled back a gloved fist and let it fly at the woman.

Small Metal Buckler Shield: Okolnir summons his small buckler, and indicates a target (himself OR someone else), and casts a magnetic field over them which can repel attacks and spells directed at target. The target of the spell can not attack or cast magic while behind the field, because it will draw their attacks / magic to it. The spell can last for 30 seconds, and also doesn’t have to be used consecutively (i.e. Okolnir can cast a magnetic field for 5 seconds, and then cast again on a different target for 20 seconds until his pool of magic is used up). Okolnir has to be within 10 feet of his target to cast a field on them, and if he’s attacked and not protected, his spell is interrupted and the field falls.

Wait - what????

The whip had gone out and was surely going to strike him with the angle he was approaching her in... but it hit nothing. Nothing!

Angelite's attempt at distraction proved futile as the flying energy orb earned a passing glance at best. No, the pesky twerp was too busy being focused on coming at her like an angry bull to be concerned with the welfare of the drunken hobo (so much for being a do-gooder, ha!) but before the Captain could chide him for just that, he was on her.

More precisely, his fist was making a connection with her shoulder.

She'd turned just far enough to prevent her cheek from being smashed but the curled fist hit her should hard and sent the older woman tumbling down towards the ground with a distressed sound and a soft thud.

"H-Hitting ladies, what kind of man are you?"

One hand moved to rest on her shoulder, the pain making the agent see stars.

It wasn't exactly where he wanted, but he wasn't going to complain. A hit was a hit, and it did knock her to the ground. He lunged for her again, because he wasn't going to let an opportunity like this go to waste.

"A realist." He replied easily. "This is a war. There are no genders here. Just soldiers." Since she was still down, he tried to grab her once he was over her, reaching for the collar of her uniform to pull her up. The Squire was mindful of her hands, because the last thing he needed was to get chest fisted.

"And I'll break your hands." He said conversationally. "You'll have a hard time getting your quota, I imagine."

As soon as his hand grabbed hold of her uniform, her own ungloved ones shot up to try to wrestle with it. The whip was cast aside, Angelite choosing to protect herself from being choked rather than trying to strike again. Fingers desperately worked to pry his digits away from her clothing, the pain in her shoulder radiating from where he'd struck her.

Using the whip hadn't worked the first time, frustratingly enough - like hell was she going to waste her time trying and failing a second time.

At the mention of breaking her hands, blue eyes widened in alarm. Judging by the way he'd rushed her and assaulted her, the knight wasn't playing around when it came to his threats.

"I don't think so, kid."

And with that, the heel of her boot went crashing down, aimed directly for his own footwear.

Okolnir raised a gloved fist again. He was going to make her see stars once more, to subdue her, and then he was going to make good on his threat. He supposed anyone would be concerned to hear their hands were about to get broken, but just how quickly and seriously she took his threat was somewhat satisfying. The squire was also expecting resistance, of course, he just hadn't expected it in the form of a sharp heel into his boot.

Funny enough, he had been on the receiving end of this kind of action. It often happened when women thought they were getting somewhere with him, and then he insulted them. It'd been a while.

Pain shot through and up his leg from the strike. The Squire hissed, and, unfortunately, his hold loosened on the Captain's coat. His fist also didn't go anywhere in the momentary shock.

There were several moments where Angelite found herself tempted to strike again, to use her own curled fist and hit the young man in his torso. As luck would probably have it she'd probably hurt her own hand in the process, so the fleeting desire dissipated as she took a step back from the opposition.

Instead, her hand moved up to present to him a very unladylike gesture, one that probably rubbed off on her from her time spent with her redheaded General.

"I hope it hurt," she countered back with a huff, the Negaverse Captain soon disappearing from where she stood, retreating back to the safety of the Negaspace and away from any more irritating do-gooders that might be roaming about the city.

Her quota, it seemed, would have to wait another day to be filled.

He supposed he should be lucky that the Captain didn't do anything else to him while she had that opening. He had gotten the desired effect though. She was gone. The man frowned, briefly, as the pain stung for longer, but he shook his head and then started to back track, keeping eyes out for that energy orb she tossed.

Ah. With the glow, it was easy to find. He collected it, and then returned it to the poor sod who had been victim to the act.

He was out and reeked of alcohol.

Okolnir sighed.

If it wasn't for his niece and best friend...sometimes he still couldn't help but wonder why he was bothering.
