Characters can breed two ways; sexually and magically. Those with biologically female bodies are the only ones who can get pregnant, but can avoid pregnancy by going the entirely magical route.
When two characters intimately mate and posses male and female biological bodies, the female can become pregnant. Pregnancy lasts differently for every species. Some species give birth to live young, others give birth to eggs.
Magical birth is done via the Goddess of Fertility, who is a rather busy God and often blesses (or curses) pairings with children. Characters may seek their blessing, and it's assumed all successful breedings who had the intent to request a blessing were given one. The Goddess of Fertility might even just decide randomly to give a pairing children — they're not the most careful or thoughtful God there is. Magical births take place instantly and skip the pregnancy process. Depending on the species, live children may arrive overnight (for Doggos they're instantly placed in Pumpkins), or eggs left within sight.
To even begin posting for a breeding, a character must have been on the adult line art for 30 days or more. If your character hasn't, you may not attempt to win a breeding slot until they have reached the age minimum. Always link official shop uncerts when posting the form. Markings can be lost in the certs, as they're a good portion smaller than the original pet. On top of that, we want to ensure the file is completely unedited, thus requesting shop uncerts over personal uncerts. We will ignore posts that do not use official shop links. Every colorist will have their own set bribe thread that will remain open 24/7. While you may bribe for a breeding, the RP limits remain. You may not bribe higher for more kids, nor can you try and circumvent the RP requirements. The purpose of a bribe thread is to request certain throwbacks/colors/persuade to color a pet without waiting for breeding slots. Breedings are currently pay what you want, unless you're entering a bribe thread. Some colorists may have minimum prices they'll accept. Each bribe thread is different. Starting stages will not grow unless they're owned. Litters will remain not grown until each baby has an owner, to prevent work going unhomed. Once the starting stages have all been put in for certing your characters will be put in to grow. Characters can breed as many times as they'd like as long as they follow normal breeding cool downs. Same sex pairings are allowed! However, breeding two characters of a different species is currently only allowed through very rare breeding slots. Multi-pairing (poly groups) breedings are available. It is up to the colorist if they will pull traits from the whole group or just a limited number of the group. Poly groups are allowed 4 members at this time. Mockbreedings are allowed but not in regular breeding slots. They will be available through special custom slots or special events. You can customize breedings through bribes. When a pairing breeds, both characters must wait 30 days before requesting another breeding. Their previous children must also be certed. If a God breeds with another God, they must wait 6 months to breed again. You may win only 2 breedings a month currently. RP requirements are to get extra kids in the breeding. In order to get extra kids the RP requirement must be between the two parents for Regular Breedings. In order to get extra kids the RP requirement just needs to include the parent you are entering for Mixer or Rogue Breedings.

There are two ways to receive a breeding; waiting for event/breeding threads to open, or bribing an artist. You can only bribe those with open threads, and must post within their thread. Bribes cannot be requested privately or via PM so that we can maintain transparency.
When you post for a breeding the rules remain the same, regardless of which option you pick. To successfully qualify for a breeding, once must; Have their pet be an adult for 30 days. Have their pet certed. Use the correct form. Post in breeding permissions if another owner is involved.
Failure to do any of these musts will result in your request being removed.
Qualifying for a breeding does not mean you automatically will receive one! You still need to be selected/RNGed. Those who try 10 times and fail will receive more tickets within normal breeding slows, as they're deemed low luck breedings. More information on low luck will be discussed in the terms post.
We allow for a wide range of plots. Characters can breed with different characters, rouge breedings are acceptable, and we allow for lifemating, which comes with a chance for additional kids. We encourage a whole plethora of plots, and as long as everything is consensual we'll usually not at an eye.
Poly groups are also allowed but the group must be listed in the Lifemating thread located here. The colorist will list if they are going to take traits from all of the group or just some of the group so you can have a chance to post who you'd prefer was breeding in the group.
Gods can mate with mortals, and while those who don't share the same species (for example, Kyrin and a Doggo) cannot make a child under normal circumstances; there may be a rare event or two that allows mixed species pairings to start a family together. Incestual and nonconsensual plots are not allowed. It's an uncomfortable topic and while we are happy to encompass as many plots as you can think of, we also acknowledge that there's enough options that it shouldn't hurt to avoid certain plots.
Also, pairings that imply dubious consent are not allowed. This means a character being drugged while breeding, or someone being unaware of the situation. To receive more then the minimum amount of kids characters must RP. For an RP to be considered complete and ready to be submitted as a breeding RP it must have at least a minimum of 1,000 words all together. When entering a regular breeding, the RP needs to be between the parents. When entering a mixer breeding, the RP does not need to be between the parents as you won't know who they are until the end. Instead it needs to be an RP that includes the Dweller you are entering.
Once the breeding is won, those RPs are void. You cannot use them anymore and must make new RPs if you wish to receive extra kids again. Lifemating characters is basically locking characters together. This comes with more children options in breedings, but also means they cannot breed with other characters. More information on lifemating can be found here.

Rogue: A breeding where one shop canon character is put up to breed with a character not made/owned. All children will resemble a mysterious, unknown parent in some way. Mixer: All characters entered will be placed in a pool to RNG or selectively CC to another character. You won't know who your character will breed with until the end of the event. Regular: A character breeds with another character with the consent of both owners. A breeding permission post must be made for this.
Once you've won your breeding, a colorist will double-check that you have the required information needed and then begin work on your breeding. You will most likely only see the starting stage upon completion, however if you bribed for the slot there may be different circumstances. Once you receive your litter, each owner can only keep one baby unless you bribed the breeding. If you bribed the breeding, you may keep two.
All babies must be homed before they'll grow into their second stage. This is to prevent the hard work of a colorist going unused. You may game off the baby, give to a friend, or return the baby to the shop for us to game off. Once they're in for certing they're considered homed. It takes a week for a starting stage baby to emerge into their child form, but it'll take longer if you don't cert your children within a weeks time. Unless a special, one of a kind event is underway that allows those of different species to breed, your character must breed within their species. They can breed with any gender and even Gods of their species, but unless participating in a special breeding event that deliberately outlines the chance to mix species, one must remain within their species when producing children. How many children you get depends on the amount of RP done and lifemating status generally. Some slots won't allow for as many kids as other slot types. This is intentional.
Rogue Breedings: No RPs: 1 child With 1 Breeding RP: 2 children
Mixer Breedings: No RPs: 2 children With 1 Breeding RP: 3 children With 2 Breeding RPs: 4 children
Regular Breedings: No RPs: 2 children With 1 Breeding RP: 3 children With 2 Breeding RPs: 4 children With 3 Breeding RPs: 5 children Lifemated: +1 child regardless of RPs submitted. If they have No RP, they'll get 3 kids. If they enter 1 Breeding RP, they'll get 4 kids. Etc etc.
Gods have their own slots shown in a different post.

Every character is allowed to breed as many times as they wish. They must follow normal breeding cool downs. For Doggos, Kyrins, and Hounds that is 30 days plus previous children must be certed. For Gods breeding with Gods they must wait 6 months.

Gods breed a little differently then everyone else, as they contain more power and must be monitored. The amount of Gods produced in a breeding depends mostly on who they breed with and some RNG.
Gods who breed with mortals will never create a God, however instead they'll make a Demigod, which is a character who has minor powers related to the powers their God parent has. Demigods cannot make other Demigods unless breeding with another of their kind. God powers and blood dilute quickly. Certs will have a marker to indicate a Demigod! Gods who breed with another of their kind will produce all God children. These children can have any domain, but most often have domains similar to their parents in some way. A good thing to note is that a God can only breed with another God every 6 months, to prevent overpopulation. Once they breed, they're placed on a special cooldown. It is intentional that Gods have a harder time making more God x God children. Gods are, after all, power deities and on more elaborate lines. To maintain their rarity, their slots have a little more work to receive more children per category.
Rogue Breedings: No RPs: 1 child With 2 Breeding RPs: 2 children
Mixer Breedings: No RPs: 1 child With 1 Breeding RP: 2 children With 2 Breeding RPs: 3 children
Regular Breedings: No RPs: 1 child With 1 Breeding RP: 2 children With 2 Breeding RPs: 3 children With 3 Breeding RPs: 4-5 children, RNGed Lifemated: +1 child regardless of RPs submitted. If they have No RP, they'll get 3 kids. If they enter 1 Breeding RP, they'll get 4 kids. Etc etc.

If a parent has a power, it'll be RNGed per child if that power carries over to the child. The only ones not RNGed will be ones that rely on physical traits, as those will be given to children with the correct traits. It is up to the owner of the child to RNG for the chance of getting an inherited power in the Powers Rolling + Approval thread.

RLC breedings do not have a cooldown nor do they go to your monthly limit. You also can request max amount of kids and ask for specific looking children. When the RLC system for breeding is released the link will be placed here.

Low Luck:: Pairings that have attempted 10 times and failed will receive extra tickets in raffles. ONS:: One night stand. Poly Group:: A group of Dwellers, up to 4, that all are lifemated to each other. Breeding them gives a chance, colorist discretion on how many can breed in the slot, to pull from 2-4 of the parents for traits. Throwback:: Using traits from previous generations. This is only for those past generation 1, as generation 1 characters do not have previous family members (that we created) we can pull traits from. Mockbreeding:: A mock or 'fake' breeding between a pairing. The kids are all Gen 1 and are not IC/blood related to the pairing. They are just kids that happen to look like the pairing/'parents'. Can only be obtained in special custom slots or special events. Cannot be obtained through regular breeding slots.
