Eta had spent the better part of the day out somewhere. Generally when the Mauvian returned after long days out she found a nice, comfortable place to curl up on a cushion and slept for hours. That wasn't the case tonight, however. This time Eta was home long enough to tell Cordelia to grab her henshin pen and get ready to power up before darting back out the door with little further explanation. She sprang to her feet, snagging her pen and her keys before ducking out the door. When she'd made it a few blocks away from her apartment she darted into an alley to power up while waiting for her phone to power on so that she could communicate with her cat. "Eta-- an explanation would be nice, you know. Something to go off of before you dart off? Where are you?" "No time, Corvus! I couldn't risk losing track of the two of them again." Eta spoke into the headset as she responded to the call from her senshi. "Corner of Fifth and Greene. Two civilians and I'm almost certain they're both senshi. Are you coming?" She knew that the answer would be 'yes' and expected the Senshi of Vengeance to join her momentarily, but for the time being it was her job to keep a watchful eye out on the two young people she'd tracked throughout the day.kapoodles Let me know if it doesn't!]

"Geesh.. I'm so glad that's over..." It had been such a long, long day for Andy and Dakota, and now they walked side by side in the faded lights along the edge of a quiet road. First they ran errands for mom, then over to the park for some... Thing or the other. He only vaguely paid attention. If Andy was right, they went to the library, and while Dakota was scouring for box, he was outside rolling around in the dirt and looking for things to take home for later including a few flours and nuts he stuck in his pockets when she wasn't looking. There WAS that giant beetle back there but he knew better than to carry bugs around. They liked to scurry.
And then the bus they were on broke down and here they were, walking way too long and way too far to get home. There was the whole thing about getting a taxi, but that costs money and it was a nice night out so....
"Thanks for walking with me sis." As dangerous as the world was, he would have been completely alright with his sister taking an Uber or something. To know that she'd be nice enough to join him meant so, so much. And personally he felt that there was something nice about being out in the early hours of the night. No pressure or eyes on them, no chase of really bumping into strangers or making small talk. Just two siblings talking a nice quiet walk, for once. There was some cute grey cat with a pretty green necklace on that popped up every now and then, almost as if it was following them, but that was just cute, not weird!
Right? Right!
"I owe you some pizza for dinner. Or tacos? Oooh, or those big ol pretzel burgers! I think that place was on the way home."

Dakota gave a soft smile at her little brother and gently bumped the back of her hand against his. “…There was no way that I could have just left you behind, Andy. What would mom have said to that? She would have been so disappointed with me, don’t you think?”
She was almost ready to graduate DCU now, and was working on applying for her Masters in Library Science, because obviously she wanted to be a librarian…it had been her goal since she was little. Since the first time she had gone to the library and…well. She loved the idea of being surrounded by books all of the time.
Her mind was wondering a little at the thought, though when her brother mentioned the pretzel burgers she paused and gave him a look. “Andy…have I ever turned down the offer of a pretzel burger in my life ever?”
Dakota’s voice had a false note of shock in it and she gave another small smile. “But. If I know you the way I think I know you, you’ll get us to the restaurant, and we’ll be happily digging into our burgers and you’ll just so happen to not have the money to cover the bill and I’ll be completely taken in by your sweet, sad eyes and I’ll pay for us. So.”
Quietly she raised her hand and ruffled the boy’s fluffy hair. “Don’t even pretend with me, Andy. I know you.”
She hadn’t noticed the cat. Dakota didn’t notice much about her surroundings while she walked, preferring to focus her attention on the ground instead, counting the number of steps that it would take until she was back where she belonged.

It didn't take Corvus as long to catch up with Eta as she thought it would. The intersection her Mauvian had indicated was only a few blocks away from her flat. It was a public place; not deal for waking two civilians, but if either of them could convince them to... To what? Follow a talking cat and a girl dressed like she was ready for Halloween a couple months early down an alley? Insane. It always sounded so insane, and yet... She'd been willing to take the trip down the rabbit hole herself. It's different when your life's in danger. "Eta, they're not kids, are they?" Eta could hear the hesitation in the Senshi of Vengeance's voice. She knew that coming along for the ride for this part of the process could sometimes be difficult for Corvus. No one wanted to drag people into the fight if they could avoid it, and Corvus had taken a rather firm position on chibi senshi. "Negative. I'm going to approach them. Keep an eye out for trouble, Corvus."
Every bit as impulsive as her senshi was at times, Eta hopped down from the fire escape she'd perched upon. Putting on her best 'cute cat' look, Eta trotted up to the two as they stood discussing dinner options, gently butting her head against the young man's ankle before mewing as she stepped between them. Oh, she hoped neither of them stepped on her...

"Now that you mention it... My wallet does seem a little light..." It was nice, this little walk they were on. It didn't feel dangerous, and for once, he didn't feel scared. That feeling of dread always seemed to linger in the back of his mind at night, especially with how dangerous the city seemed....
But today, all felt well. Heck, even the cute kitty thought so! Andy paused at the brush, grinning and kneeling down to gently reach out to pet her head, if she let him.
"Look at this kitty..." He cooed softly, admiring her lovely fur and the bird-like necklace she wore about her neck. "She just... Came up to us... You think she'd want to come home with us? Oh, but she has a collar... Thing. I think? I guess she's just a cutie doing some adventuring."
