◎ The Black Tortoise or Black Turtle is one of the Four Symbols of the Chinese constellations. Despite its English name, it is usually depicted as a turtle entwined together with a snake. Further, in East Asia, it is not called after either animal but is instead known as the "Black Warrior" under various local pronunciations. It is known as Xuánwǔ in Chinese, Hyeonmu in Korean, Genbu in Japanese and Huyền Vũ in Vietnamese. It represents the north and the winter season. In Japan, it is one of the four guardian spirits that protect Kyoto and it is said that it protects the city on the north. Represented by the Genbu Shrine, which is located to the north of Kyoto Imperial Palace. The creature's name is identical to that of the important Taoist god Xuanwu, who is sometimes (as in Journey to the West) portrayed in the company of a turtle and snake.
Also known as The Black Emperor and The Lord of the Seas, this creature is only able to appear in the world every few centuries, unless contracted to someone living in this world. In which case they can appear whenever summoned or whenever they please, if their master is powerful enough.
» Water Bubbles Musta creates bubbles of water with oxygen trapped inside that enable those who put their heads in the bubbles to breathe underwater. » Water Beam Musta blasts a jet of high-pressured water from her mouth, which can travel quite a distance, to hit a specific target. » Water Slicer By swiping her head, Musta sends scythe-like blades of water at her intended target, which are powerful enough to cleanly slice through solid rock. It can also be used as a form of defense to intercept an attack. » Water Jigsaw Musta transforms part of her body into a swirling mass of water slicers that can slice her opponents like a saw. » Water Nebula Musta creates two waves of water to rush up and slam together with the opponent in the middle with tremendous force. The force of the water can actually crush the opponent. It is a very strongmagic and the waters are quite fast when cast, making it very difficult to escape. » Water Lock Musta creates a large sphere of water that can be used to both attack, and trap, her target. The ball is sent towards the target to try and engulf her opponent, and once inside the ball, the opponent potentially drowns making this spell very lethal. The water can be frozen, allowing the one trapped inside to escape. » Double Wave Musta swipes her head towards her opponent, creating two waves that slam the target from both sides, engulfing them in water and can restrain their movement. Weaker version of Water Nebula. » Whirpool Musta swipes her head forward, creating a spear of water that, when directed at the target, generally through a thrashing motion, turns into a whirlpool. The whirlpool will begin to surround the target, washing them away.
◎ The Azure Dragon, also known as Bluegreen Dragon, Green Dragon, or also called the Blue Dragon , is one of the Dragon Gods who represent the mount or chthonic forces of the Five Forms of the Highest Deity (五方上帝 Wǔfāng Shàngdì). He is also one of the Four Symbols of the Chinese constellations, which are the astral representations of the Wufang Shangdi. The Bluegreen Dragon represents the east and the spring season. It is also known as Seiryu in Japanese, Cheong-nyong in Korean, and Thanh Long in Vietnamese. The Dragon is frequently referred to in media, feng shui, other cultures, and in various venues as the Green Dragon and the Avalon Dragon. His cardinal direction's epithet is "Bluegreen Dragon of the East". His proper name as the "Dragon King of the East Sea" is Ao Guang.
Also known as The Azure Emperor and The Lord of the Earth, this creature is only able to appear in the world every few centuries, unless contracted to someone living in this world. In which case they can appear whenever summoned or whenever they please, if their master is powerful enough.
» Boulder Toss - This one is more or less self-explanatory. Sininen puts his hands to the ground, seeming to cause a small shockwave in a very controlled distance (the furthest it goes is about six feet). However big this shockwave is decides on what the size of the boulder he pulls out of the ground is. It's almost always larger than he is, though there have been times where it was slightly smaller. In either case, he always proceeds to throw this boulder at his opponent. » Iron Curtain - Sininen digs his hands into the ground, before pulling up. This causes a large slab of earth (roughly ten feet tall, twelve feet wide, a foot thick) to appear in front of him, to protect against any oncoming attacks. It's mostly useful against attacks sent towards him by those of a lower rank, as it provides little resistance against those at the same level as him. It can protect up to six people, himself included, so long as they're close to him. » Shattering Earth Bomb - Sininen touches the ground, pulling up a sphere of earth which is roughly five feet in diameter. When he throws this sphere, spikes shoot out of it, which allow to stick to certain surfaces (in essence, anything which can be pierced and hold its weight). After this, he can snap his fingers, causing the sphere to explode, sending shards of rock flying in every direction. Their speed and sharpness allows them to pierce through the average human body, though if one has toughened skin, or is larger than average, it may have difficulty piercing all the way through or even possibly piercing at all. » Fists of the Land - This is a more simplistic, yet heavy damaging attack. It consists of Sininen placing his hands on any sort of earth, and causing it to form and take shape around his hands, causing large, earthen fists to take place of his regular ones. While it does significantly boost his attack power with his fists, it also slows down his fists, though not very significantly. Although it's slow enough for the more seasoned fighters to be easily able to dodge it. » Rockshard Bullets - Sininen places his hand on an object made of earth (such as a cave wall or something of the sort), or holds a rock (or, again, places his hand on it). Through this, he is able to shoot out small pieces of the object towards his enemy, much like a bullet being shot from a gun. And much like a bullet, it travels in only in one direction, it's trajectory unable to be changed. But depending on the object he is using as a source, he can quite possibly shoot from multiple directions instead of just one. » Stalagmite Wave - Either by slamming his hand onto the ground or stomping his foot, Sininen can send a wave of stalagmites roughly twenty feet away from himself. The stalagmite start off small as they speed towards his opponent, slowly rising further out of the ground until they reach the maximum height of fifteen feet tall, at the end of their travel. They don't seem to sink back into the ground, causing them to become an environmental hazard. » Earth Toss - A rather dangerous move for those that are unprepared for it. Sininen digs his hands into the earth, and bends his fingers, as if getting ready to pick something up. He then begins to lift up a large tract of land (roughly twenty feet in width, roughly up to three feet thick), which he then proceeds to flip. If someone is standing on it, or stand in front of it, they can quite possibly be crushed by this tract of land if they don't dodge it or destroy it. » Miniature Landslide - This attack is slightly more dangerous than most of his others (ultimates aside). This attack allows Sininen to move a small section of land (thirty feet in all directions) across a certain distance (about one hundred feet from where he stands). The reason this attack is so dangerous is due to it's destructiveness. The land does not get up and crawl on magical legs, but instead acts as an actual landslide, rolling across the ground and crushing/swallowing up anything that comes into its path. It can even crush people if they don't move out of the way (it travels at roughly ten miles per hour, so it's easy to avoid by flying or if you have supernatural speed), and knock over (small) buildings, seeming to devour them. » Earthshaker - One of Sininen's three most powerful attacks. This attack is basically as its name suggests. It allows Sininen to create an earthquake within a range of six hundred feet (roughly two football fields) all around him. But this isn't just your regular earth shaking. It begins with Sininen punching the ground, which causes the ground to start shaking, with cracks appearing in the ground and causing chasms to appear. These chasms are about ten feet wide, and are a twenty foot drop, so it could cause some significant damage if one were to fall down. Though from most of these chasms, stalagmites which span about fifteen feet into the air appear, piercing anyone unlucky enough to be flying above them, or who fell into the chasms. Along with all of this, it also causes the ground to violently shake, causing any standing on the ground to likely experience a loss of balance and tripping/falling everywhere. When the attack ends, the stalagmites crumble back into the ground, and the chasms slowly close, likely crushing those who weren't able to escape quick enough. And even though they're closed, the "scars" are still noticeable on the surface the attack happened on.
◎ The Vermilion bird is one of the Four Symbols of the Chinese constellations. According to Wu Xing, the Taoist five-elemental system, it represents the fire-element, the direction south, and the season summer correspondingly. Thus it is sometimes called the Vermilion bird of the South. It is known as Zhū Què in Chinese, Suzaku in Japanese, Jujak in Korean and Chu Tước in Vietnamese. It is described as a red bird that resembles a pheasant with a five-colored plumage and is perpetually covered in flames. Represented by Jonangu Shrine in the southern part of Kyoto. It is often mistaken for the Fenghuang due to similarities in appearance, but the two are different creatures. The Fenghuang (similar to the phoenix in western mythologies) is a legendary ruler of birds who is associated with the Chinese Empress in the same way the dragon is associated with the Emperor, while the Vermilion Bird is a mythological spirit creature of the Chinese constellations.
Also known as The Vermilion Emperor and The Lord of the Flames, this creature is only able to appear in the world every few centuries, unless contracted to someone living in this world. In which case they can appear whenever summoned or whenever they please, if their master is powerful enough.
» Volcanic Breath The fire that Punainen breathes is pure white, arguably the (second) strongest version of fire. Just being near it can cause severe heat damage. When used, it seems to burst out quickly before becoming a stream of fire, which shoots out fireballs randomly. » Raging Inferno Storm Punainen has the ability to summon three cyclones made completely of fire around him, and lets them run loose around him. He has control over moving them a certain direction, but otherwise, their movement is completely random. Each cyclone is made of blue fire (not Satanic), so it's not as likely to kill someone, but rather burn them pretty horribly. » Hellfire's Flight With this attack, Punainen take to the skies and flaps his wings. With each flap, he sends waves of white fire to the ground below him. This attack is dangerous only because Punainen can move quickly through the sky, and strike quicker than he could on land. And since it's white fire, it's more likely to kill if it manages to hit someone directly. Just grazing them would cause very bad burning. » Fireball Shower From his current position, Punainen shoots multiple white fireballs into the air from his mouth. The sizes from from one foot in diameter up to ten feet in diameter. Fireballs six feet and larger cause an explosion double the radius of their size, while fireballs under six feet in diameter just cause the ground to burst into flames, if the ground is combustible. Otherwise they just diminish on the surface. » Burn Blast Punainen is able to release fire from his body over a designated area. It's only able to expand about fifteen feet in all directions from wherever he currently is. » Hell Prominence Punainen releases flames from his mouth which form into a large, long and powerfully destructive laser-like beam that is capable of creating a chain of explosions throughout an area at least the size of small city. » Fire Bullet Punainen releases a large, bullet-like stream of fire towards his target from his mouth. The hotter the fire, the more dangerous it is. » White Dragon from Purgatory Punainen causes a white dragon to come forth from his mouth, made from the hottest flames he could generate. It incinerates everything within its path in an instant, leaving not even ashes behind. Even after the attack is over, the white flames still exist, as if for an eternity. The only way for them to diminish is for Punainen to suck them back up, if they're put out by a very strong water attack, or if Punainen is desummoned. They can also be blocked by a very sturdy wall of earth, and enough earth on the flames can possibly extinguish them also. The flames don't seem to spread out, strangely enough, and only stay where they were created.
◎ The White Tiger is one of the Four Symbols of the Chinese constellations. It is sometimes called the White Tiger of the West (西方白虎, Xī Fāng Bái Hǔ), and is known as Bái Hǔ in Chinese, Byakko in Japanese, Baekho in Korean and Bạch Hổ in Vietnamese. It represents the west and the autumn season. In Chinese culture, the tiger is the king of the beasts and has been presented with a 王 (wáng, eng. king) on his forehead for centuries. According to legend, the tiger's tail would turn white when it reached the age of 500 years. In this way, the white tiger became a kind of mythological creature. It was said that the white tiger would only appear when the emperor ruled with absolute virtue, or if there was peace throughout the world. Because the color white of the Wu Xing theory also represents the west, the white tiger became a mythological guardian of the west.
Also known as The White Emperor and The Lord of the Winds, this creature is only able to appear in the world every few centuries, unless contracted to someone living in this world. In which case they can appear whenever summoned or whenever they please, if their master is powerful enough.
» Art of the Wind Blades This attack amplifies sharp waves of vacuum created by lightning-fast movements of the arms. The blades of vacuum radiate from the caster, slashing to pieces any organic matter in the vicinity. Clearly, this attack is most useful when Valkoinen is surrounded by enemies. Although not designed for pinpoint attacks, its lethality should not be underestimated. » Bomb Thrust Valkoinen makes a small orb of wind in his palm, charging it with more and more wind until it's about the size of his head. He then thrusts his arm forward, causing the orb to explode into gale force winds. It's very powerful and lethal, but not that difficult to dodge unless you're moving at regular walking speed. » Wind Scar This attack, when used, sends a a large burst of air at the opponent. This burst is made up of hundreds of blade-like winds, causing them to shred whatever they happen to hit. The "scar" part comes from when, if it hits the ground, it leaves gashes in the earth. » Cyclone Valkoinen can summon a cyclone, which can act either as a barrier, or to ravage the battlefield. Though this pretty much depends on it size. A very large cyclone can possibly cause the user to pass out, rendering it useless. If used as a barrier, it can either protect, or pull the air from the enemy's lungs, causing difficulty to breathe. » Pillars of the Sky Valkoinen can summon pillars of wind to surround him, having them act as vacuums that can suck up anyone or anything that comes near him, spitting them out in a different direction. This is more of a defensive technique than it is an attack technique. It can be negated by causing the flow of wind to go opposite the direction the pillars are. » Mulitvortex Valkoinen swings his arms rapidly, creating "shockwaves" of wind that fly quickly at the enemy. The standard form does nothing more than cause slight scratches on the enemy. More focused, but smaller slashes can possibly cut through them,if it hits just right. » Claws of the Dragon When Valkoinen is about to use this attack, he holds up his claws, and causes wind to shape around them. He waits until his enemy moves forward before dashing forward at a quick speed, slashing at his enemy with these claws of wind. After about ten swipes he jumps back and lunges forward once more, making an "X" formation with his arms, slashing at the enemy once more like this. » Fujin Air Blast To use this attack, Valkoinen will first take a deep breath, and then pound his stomach to apply external pressure, the power of which they uses to shoot a highly compressed air ball from their mouth. The expelled air ball is mighty enough to hollow out the ground, and level an entire forest. The "bullets" explode the moment they reach their target, dealing an enormous amount of damage, as well as leveling anything in its path. Valkoinen is able to fire multiple of these in rapid succession, having a certain level of control regarding the size of the bullets.
◎ The Yellow Dragon (traditional Chinese: 黃龍; simplified Chinese: 黄龙; pinyin: Huánglóng; Cantonese Yale: Wong4 Lung4 Japanese: Kōryū or Ōryū Korean: Hwang-Ryong Vietnamese: Hoàng Long) is the zoomorphic incarnation of the Yellow Emperor of the centre of the universe in Chinese religion and mythology. The Yellow Emperor or Yellow Deity was conceived by a virgin mother, Fubao, who became pregnant after seeing a yellow ray of light turning around the Northern Dipper (in Chinese theology the principal symbol of God). Twenty four months later the Yellow Emperor was born and was associated to the colour yellow because it is the colour of the Earth (Dì 地), the material substance, in which he incarnated.
Also known as The Yellow Emperor and The Lord of the Skies, this creature is only able to appear in the world every few centuries, unless contracted to someone living in this world. In which case they can appear whenever summoned or whenever they please, if their master is powerful enough.
» Thunder Bullets Fulmen summons a lightning bolt from the ground, hitting his target from underneath and throwing them into the air, before subsequently causing an explosion. » Electric Aura Fulmen can create an electric aura to protect himself from weak attacks. If someone is stronger than him, then they can easily break it. » Lightning Storm Fulmen creates a sphere of lightning between his hands, sending dangerous lightning bolts in every direction. » Lightning Strike Fulmen creates a massive electrical discharge from above that heavily damages his target as well as destroying the area around them. » Lightning Sphere Fulmen swipes his claw upward to enclose the target in a large swirling sphere made of lightning energy, while heavily electrocuting them. » Lightning Eruption Aside from coming down from the sky and being created from his body, Fulmen's lightning can also be generated from the ground itself to electrocute his opponents from below. This magic possesses enough strength to lift it's target several meters in the air. » Lightning Bullets Placing one of his arms a few centimeters away from the other, held outstretched, with both of his palms open, Fulmen creates a sphere of lightning around his outstretched forearm, from which a barrage of small, yet destructive lightning orbs is fired towards their enemy at high speed. Such over-sized "bullets", striking in the same area, are powerful enough to produce an explosion on contact, which can engulf the target and knock them to the ground. » Lightning Blast This magic can be used with a single hoof or two hooves to generate electrical discharges at a distance or at close-range. Fulmen is capable of conjuring bolts of electricity that has either frail, hot enough to heat a metal arm, or devastating power to inflict damage. » The Bolts that Scorch the Earth, Thunderstorm Finale Lightning is launched into the sky in the form of a large and destructive pillar of raging lightning, obliterating anything weak that happens to come in contact with it. Yet this is only the beginning. When the lightning reaches high enough, black clouds cover the sky, seeming to swirl around the area that the pillar of lightning stopped. Above the clouds, the stopped pillar of lightning begins to form into a large ball, gathering the electricity from the storm clouds. Once the ball gets big enough, then the fun begins. The ball splits into smaller balls, which begin to rain down from the sky. When it comes into contact with someone or something, it releases multiple lightning bolts, the amount of damage depending on the size of the ball. Though they can turn almost anything they come into contact with into nothing more than ash. Though he ball above the clouds is still gathering energy, and once it gets big enough, causes lightning to rain down from the clouds in the area that said clouds cover. These bolts can vaporize anything that they touch, leaving next to nothing behind.
◎ "Then I saw when the Lamb broke one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying as with a voice of thunder, “Come.” I looked, and behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer."
Based on the above passage, a common translation into English, the rider of the White Horse (sometimes referred to as the White Rider) is generally referred to as "Conquest". The name could also be construed as "Victory", as in the translation found in the Jerusalem Bible (the Greek words are derived from the verb νικάω, to conquer or vanquish). He carries a bow, and wears a victor's crown.
When Victorum is summoned by its owner, a golden ring with a pearl in it appears on the summoner's index finger. It is through this ring that they can use the powers of the Horseman of Conquest.
» Celestial Arrows The user can create arrows formed from magic and are capable of causing massive amount of damage or destruction. Arrows are able to take one the form of energy, the elements, as well as other forms of magic. » Conquest Embodiment The users of this power can become the embodiment of conquest. The user can dominate anything, land, or humans. The user can become stronger with their own ambitions. The user can even induce probability of victories in every one of their battles or contests. » Conquest Empowerment User becomes stronger, faster, more durable, etc. from the conquest/conquering of oneself and others, possibly unlocking abilities related to the affinity and enhancing the existing powers. Some users may be able draw sustenance from conquest/conquering or even slow or stop aging. » Enhanced Accuracy User can judge extremely long distances amazingly accurately, gauging the strength needed to launch a projectile, in order to hit a target accurately. If a target is moving the user can calculate the best method to hit the target. Visual obstructions like smoke and vegetation do not hinder their ability to get an accurate bead on their target, and their intense focus on whatever they're targeting at allows them to shut out outside distractions. They can compensate for environmental factors that would normally throw off their aim like wind, air resistance, gravity, and radiant heat (which distorts the image of the target). » Enhanced Archery Users have an incredible aptitude for the ways of bow and arrow, being able launch multiple arrows with one shot, use the bow as a melee weapon, etc. They can reload the weapon rapidly and efficiently, even with heavy mechanisms like the crossbow. » Enhanced Charisma The user has unnaturally high charisma, or charm, enabling them to gain the trust and loyalty of others and win them over to their cause. Charisma is a trait found in certain personalities usually including extreme charm and a 'magnetic' quality of personality and/or appearance along with innate and powerfully sophisticated personal communicability and persuasiveness. Though very difficult or even impossible to define accurately, charisma is often used to describe an (elusive, even undefinable) personality trait that often includes the seemingly 'supernatural' or uncanny ability to lead, charm, persuade, inspire, and/or influence people. » Halo Generation User can create single or more halos, a ring, wheel or glow usually formed of light, but fire is also common, around themselves, usually above the head. It usually represents a divine level of power, reaching a level of transcendence beyond their physical form to gain a connection with the ethereal world. » Light Manipulation The user can create, shape and manipulate visible light, commonly referred to as light, is electromagnetic radiation that is visible to the human eye, and is responsible for the sense of sight. Primary properties of visible light are intensity, propagation direction, frequency or wavelength spectrum, and polarization, while its speed in a vacuum (299,792,458 meters per second/186,000 MPS) is one of the fundamental constants of nature. Visible light, as with all types of electromagnetic radiation (EMR), is experimentally found to always move at this speed in vacuum. » Subordination Manipulation Users gain significant influence over intended targets, allowing them to control, strengthen or weaken physically, mentally or magically (including all supernatural powers) and otherwise manipulate their victims as they wish, even summoning beings to serve them or dismiss those they wish to. The user can even extend their power as to switch their victims loyalties to the user without focusing on controlling them and the victims view the users as kings/queens and their one true masters.
◎ "When He broke the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, “Come.” And another, a red horse, went out; and to him who sat on it, it was granted to take peace from the earth, and that men would slay one another; and a great sword was given to him."
The rider of the second horse is often taken to represent War (he is often pictured holding a sword upwards as though ready for battle) or mass slaughter. His horse's color is red (πυρρός, from πῦρ, fire); and in some translations, the color is specifically a "fiery" red. The color red, as well as the rider's possession of a great sword, suggests blood that is to be spilled. The sword held upward by the second Horseman may represent war or a declaration of war, as seen in heraldry. In military symbolism, swords held upward, especially crossed swords held upward, signify war and entering into battle.
When Ruin is summoned by its owner, a golden ring with a ruby in it appears on the summoner's index finger. It is through this ring that they can use the powers of the Horseman of War.
» Blood Manipulation User can create, shape and manipulate blood of oneself, others or from their surroundings, whether it be from blood-banks, hospitals, or battlefields. » Combustion Inducement Users can increase the kinetic of atoms and molecules causing them to ignite. This process creates heat and light that the user can use. » Divine Combat The users of this power are the undisputed masters of all forms of combat, including natural and supernatural fighting skills and infinite strength and stamina. They have immense defensive abilities unsurpassed by any other fighter; they also possess a high level of intellect which they use to plan their attacks carefully. Also because of the users great strength and immense durability, when fighting other superpowered beings, most fights are a brawling contest, but when called for it, users employ their incredible martial ability to take out opponents quickly and efficiently. » Enhanced Swordsmanship Users are able to demonstrate a natural aptitude for the ways of the sword, including anything sword-shaped such as fictional swords. They are able to wield a sword with incredible proficiency in speed, power, and skill, allowing them to perform feats such as stopping and deflecting bullets, decimating large objects or areas, cutting through solid material such as steel, and even hold back their strength to deal damage to their foes without killing them. The user is able to operate with little or no effort, deliver skillful strikes to weak points with great precision and cut only and exactly what they want. This ability also allows them to become naturally skilled with multiple swords or any bladed weapon regardless of shape or size to suit their needs in combat. Their remarkably fast weapon control may allow them to bypass obstacles in order to cut their intended target. » Temporary Invulnerability The user is immune to all forms of conventional physical damage, unable to feel physical pain, is immune to bleeding or loss of limb. » One-Man Army The user is able to fight against seemingly, overwhelming odds with ease. They are a capable warrior on the battlefield, decimating the enemy single-handedly and with near supernatural finesse that pars with the skill of more experienced fighters. This ability can manifest into various ways but is usually the result of extreme martial skill. Users of this ability are as deadly at long-range combat as they are in close quarter. » Rage Inducement The user is able to induce an instinctive and uncontrollable rage in others, as well as suppress their conscious thinking. » War Embodiment The user of this power can become the embodiment of war. The user can cause war, utterly obliterate the enemy with destruction and devastating means. The user controls rage, inflicts pain, and can make others' lives miserable by rendering them homeless or taking away their loved ones. » War Manipulation User has the power to influence all forms of conflict including mental, physical, spiritual and conceptual ones, regardless of the area and numbers involved, control how they progress and draw power both from the conflict alone as well as the dying. They are, naturally, extremely skilled in all form of fighting, weapons and both strategy and tactics as well as statistics of war. The user can start conflicts by influencing people or events, raise their personal and fanatical armies, control and create weapons of every kind and even grant others extensive abilities of combat. » Violence Inducement The user can cause others to become brutal and hurtful towards others, even if it means causing that person to kill others. This can even cause a major disruption of order and bring chaos. This means the user can even have the power to cause so much violence they can start an all out war.
◎ "When He broke the third seal, I heard the third living creature saying, “Come.” I looked, and behold, a black horse; and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard something like a voice in the center of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; but do not damage the oil and the wine.”"
The third Horseman rides a black horse and is popularly understood to be Famine as the Horseman carries a pair of balances or weighing scales, indicating the way that bread would have been weighed during a famine. Other authors interpret the third Horseman as the "Lord as a Law-Giver" holding Scales of Justice. In the passage, it is read that the indicated price of grain is about ten times normal (thus the famine interpretation popularity), with an entire day's wages (a denarius) buying enough wheat for only one person, or enough of the less nutritious barley for three, so that workers would struggle to feed their families.
When Fames is summoned by its owner, a golden ring with an onyx stone in it appears on the summoner's index finger. It is through this ring that they can use the powers of the Horseman of Famine.
» Dehydration The user can remove water from objects and/or organisms, possibly by severe perspiration, dryness, and transpiration on people/objects. Long exposure can cause organisms to become skeletal, soon dying due to total lack of water. » Disentegration The user cause targets (whether organic or inorganic material) to lose cohesion in various means. Some can make matter fall apart, wipe away their target on a molecular/sub-molecular level or even revert matter into pure energy. Regardless of the means, the target is reduced to either molecular/sub-molecular dust or energy but not absolutely annihilated. » Energy Absorption The user can absorb various forms of energy, while removing it from the source, into their body and use it in various ways, gaining some form of advantage, either by enhancing themselves, gaining the drained power, using it as power source etc., either temporarily or permanently. » Famine Embodiment The user embodies true hunger. With this, they can cause others to starve to death. They could also cause victims to hunger for their desires (love, company, food, attention, power, money, etc.). » Famine Inducement The user can cause famine on any scale including; a region, country continent, planet or as extreme as a universe. Even is used on a miniscule scale, it can ultimately cause global disruption. » Force Drain User can drain energy from individuals or objects. They can drain physical energy from a target or group, making the affected physically weaker or causing them extreme fatigue while gaining their strength and stamina. » Gluttony Inducement User can induce hunger and extremes of gluttony in others such as over-indulgence and over-consumption of food, drink, or wealth items to the point of extravagance or waste. Victim is unable to focus into anything else than fulfilling their hunger. Some users are able to grant those affected by this power ability to consume and gain sustenance from anything, not just the edible things. » Matter Ingestion The user can eat any substance without harmful effects, regardless of what they consume. They can consume matter in any form - solid, liquid or gas. » Power Diminution The user can cancel out the powers of others, making them unable to utilize their powers as long as they are under the user's effect.
◎ Under another interpretation, the first Horseman is called Pestilence, and is associated with infectious disease and plague. It appears at least as early as 1906, when it is mentioned in the Jewish Encyclopedia. The interpretation is common in popular culture references to the Four Horsemen. The origin of this interpretation is unclear. Some translations of the Bible mention "plague" (e.g. the NIV) or "pestilence" (e.g. the RSV) in connection with the riders in the passage following the introduction of the fourth rider; cf. "They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine, plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth."
When Pestis is summoned by its owner, a golden ring with an emerald in it appears on the summoner's index finger. It is through this ring that they can use the powers of the Horseman of Pestilence.
» Biological Manipulation The user can manipulate life on a cellular level, including but not limited to, genetic alterations and physical distortion and/or augmentations of biological functions. They can cause cells to augment to induce advanced or declined biological healing, induce diseases like cancer, induce appearance alteration, manipulate pheromones, and even increase physiological maturity. » Chemistry Manipulation The user can create/generate, shape and manipulate chemical substances that can create new elemental or chemical, toxic, combustible, or explosive substance. Users can also manipulate the reactions of the chemical substance. » Disease Manipulation The user can create, manipulate, shape, transform, cause/heal, etc. all forms of diseases, including their severity, contagiousness, methods of spreading, etc. They can control the organisms that spread diseases, including germs, bacteria, virus or other pathogen on a cellular level, including bacteriophages, microorganisms (microscopic organisms), retroviruses, cells that abnormally grow to make cancerous tumors and cysts, and pathogens that produce genetic mutations. » Infection Empowerment The user's powers are all derived from being infected by viruses and/or diseases. » Mutilation The user can alter the body structure of oneself and others by absorbing external systems inside the body while exposing internal systems. Once the conditional organic requirements are met, the user can distort and mutilate the body of their opponent until they are nothing left, but a pile of fleshy mass. The user can tear through the innards of their opponents and cause them irreparable internal damage. » Virus Mimicry User with this ability either is or can mimic/transform into a sentient form of bacteria or virus, they can journey into the smallest depths of various organisms and break them down from the inside out. The user is rendered nearly inaccessible to conventional beings due to their size and can spread debilitating infections to multiple beings at a time. » Pestilence Embodiment The user can be the embodiment of pestilence, plague and disease. They are able to create, spread and manipulate all forms of afflictions. For the sake of clarity: poison, toxin and venom are terms for any substance that injures the health or destroys life when absorbed into the system: poison is the general word, toxin is a poison produced by an organism (plant, fungus, animal); it is especially used in medicine in reference to disease-causing bacterial secretions, venom is especially used of the poisons secreted by certain animals, usually injected by bite or sting.
◎ "When the Lamb broke the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, “Come.” I looked, and behold, an ashen horse; and he who sat on it had the name Death; and Hades was following with him. Authority was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by the wild beasts of the earth."
The fifth and final Horseman is named Death. Known as "Θάνατος/Thanatos", of all the riders, he is the only one to whom the text itself explicitly gives a name. Unlike the other three, he is not described carrying a weapon or other object, instead he is followed by Hades (the resting place of the dead).[citation needed] However, illustrations commonly depict him carrying a scythe (like the Grim Reaper), sword, or other implement. The color of Death's horse is written as khlōros (χλωρός) in the original Koine Greek, which can mean either green/greenish-yellow or pale/pallid. The color is often translated as "pale", though "ashen", "pale green", and "yellowish green" are other possible interpretations (the Greek word is the root of "chlorophyll" and "chlorine"). Based on uses of the word in ancient Greek medical literature, several scholars suggest that the color reflects the sickly pallor of a corpse. In some modern artistic depictions, the horse is distinctly green.
When Phantom is summoned by its owner, a golden ring with a diamond in it appears on the summoner's index finger. It is through this ring that they can use the powers of the Horseman of Death.
