Flashback
"What was that thing?"

Vulcan pressed her forehead up against the brick. She closed her eyes - recalled the image of the beast - and was not sure. She thought it was a youma, but had been different somehow. An animal, for certain, but the way it had looked at her.

"I don't know," she rasped. It knew me. How that could be Vulcan had no idea - but she had felt it in the creature's stare. It had recognized her from somewhere. *

A year ago Sailor Vulcan rescued a woman who was attacked by something on 6th street. They escaped to safety with the help of an old friend [Zach], but Vulcan has not been able to forget about this thing that might have been a youma, but which looked at her with the cleverness of a person.

She is sending you and your partner back to 6th street to investigate. Your task is to return and tell her what you find there.

"Kiuchi," she says before you both leave headquarters, "you were concerned about being able to communicate with your partner without revealing your identity. Syrtis, come here."

She divides a pair of armoured walkie-talkies between you. They look and feel heavy-duty. "I tested these out over the weekend. You'll be able to reach each other from almost anywhere in the city, as long as you're on the same channel. And they shouldn't break if you drop them from a rooftop. Try not to risk it, though."

Of course he'd been concerned over communicating with others. He risked a civilian finding out who he was, as a civilian, and the potential for them being powered also and hiding it...that was high. He didn't want to risk himself but more importantly he didn't want to risk the two he lived with, they had been so kind in taking him in. He didn't want to bring trouble to their doorstep...it would be wrong and irresponsible of him.

The walkie-talkies were good though, they seemed durable as well. Looking over it, not for the first time, as he and his partner headed towards 6th street to investigate something which happened a while back.

"You don't mind working with me...I hope." He didn't have a problem, at least not yet, but he hoped the knight he was working with wouldn't mind. If he did...it might cause problems for them; and he'd like to avoid that. He didn't want to be a burden to someone or for someone to tolerate him, and his aura, when they didn't want to.

"I just...I hope we can work well together." The dark haired male concluded after some moments of silence, looking up from the walkie-talkie in his hands.

'You know why I'm pairing you with Kiuchi, don't you?'

'Because I'm the only one who has a fighting chance if he decides to pull a wraith on me?'

'Basically, yeah.'

Syrtis didn't mind. He might only have been a page, but he wore really big shoes and had just recently learned that he filled out dress shirts pretty damn nicely. Neither of these things had to do with fighting or the question of whether or not he'd be able to fend off an attack if Kiuchi decided to have a go at him. The point was that he looked strong; shoulders broad and gleaming tan in his Mars uniform, thighs lean underneath his gladiator-skirt-thing.

'You don't mind working with me...I hope. I just...I hope we can work well together.'

Syrtis cracked his knuckles. Glanced at Kiuchi out of the corner of his eye as they made their way down 6th street together.

The corner of his mouth started to twitch into a smile. "To be honest with you I'm not even sure what you are. What the hell does a dark mirror senshi do?"

"We...well you know about normal senshi...right? We are similar, in a sense. We don't serve chaos like the corrupted ones do, honestly they scare me a bit...with those cracks. Our home worlds are beyond the mirror...in a different verse...where things are different. Our souls just came here." How he didn't know but they were lost souls as far as he figured it. "Senshi were reborn here...so were we somehow. We just...want to go back. We can't get to the worlds we are named for - not here. Senshi can...we can't. We just have the mirror and what we can access beyond it's reflective surface. We've had to make a home here." Shrugging a bit the dark haired male looked around, fingers tugging at his own uniform out of some nervous habit. He knew he had the habit, he knew it was an easy tell, but he never bothered to work on it...to hide it better.

"The energy we gather goes to feeding that world, what little we have, so we can continue to have it." Or they'd have nothing but...well themselves and what this world right here offered. No homeworld, no mirrorspace, no nothing else for them.

"I don't know the whole story, just that, it's from before my time...others may know. I don't know who...perhaps our princess or our prince." Another shrug from him.

"We aren't like the Negaverse...well most of us aren't. Maybe some are...b-but I don't think so." They weren't of the same chaos, at least as far as he knew. If they were than they'd all feel the same, right? Corrupted senshi and Dark Mirror senshi...they'd be the same.

"Man, that's a raw deal. Sounds like you guys are kind of trapped here."

Syrtis arched an eyebrow while Kiuchi talked; took in everything from the way the dark senshi carried himself, to the way that he spoke, to how he plucked at pieces of his uniform and concluded that he was in dire need of some self-confidence. If it was something that could be bottled up and shared John Jr would gladly have given Kiuchi some of his.

"So dark moon senshi are what - from another dimension?"

Wild.

It wasn't unreasonable to him that Kiuchi didn't know the whole story about how his people had come to be on earth, and so Syrtis did not press the issue. Wasn't that how it was for everyone? Some people liked to say that they knew, religious and scientific types alike, but that wasn't the same thing as actually knowing.

6th street was in one of the oldest parts of Destiny City. The buildings in this neighbourhood were all red-brick and only a couple of stories tall - old factories and warehouses re-purposed into hipster bars and tattoo parlours. More than half of those were closed today.

"Where do you think we should start?" Syrtis asked Kiuchi, at the same time that he opened up the 'maps' feature app on his phone. 7th street was to the east, 8th street was to the west. A label up ahead read 'Mario's Pizza Palace'. His stomach growled. "Wanna get some food on the way? There's a pizza place just up there."

He pointed.

"Kind of...yeah. Though we were born here...we grew up normal civilian lives - like everyone else. But the soul...the senshi part...it's from the other side." It was a bit hard to explain, at least it seemed like it, but with magic all around them he was sure it made some amount of sense. Once y ou got used to the whole magical war thing, and what it entailed, what he said made some sense.

"Something like an alternate world? I'm not sure but that's the best way I can say it. We don't fully belong here in some sense. I don't know what's in that alternate world...if anything. It might be like this - everyone reborn here...maybe we have our home worlds - full of life and thriving. I don't know if any of us know. I doubt it." Not with them being closed off from it. And what if it was thriving? With them...were they dead? Sleeping? Missed by people...? He didn't know and thinking on it was troubling, and sad, it wasn't something to spend much time on, it could lead down darker little rabbit holes.

"You can grab some pizza if you want. Greasy food tends to upset my stomach and I don't have anything to take for it." Like he did when he went eating normally, or cooked at home. "I'm good anyway - i ate before this." Smiling softly, honestly. "Then we can start where you want, maybe take it slow so you can eat."

Mario's Pizza Place had the best pepperoni in town. Proustite knew because he had made a point of trying every single pizza place in Destiny City, and he was quite certain that he had come to the objective conclusion that there was no better pepperoni anywhere. He hummed about it as he left, three x-large pizzas stacked in his arms, a small on his face, radiating a dark energy signature.

Syrtis had seen him once before, stealing cookies from a girl scout.

"Hey you!" he shouted, pointing. "Did you pay for those?"

Proustite stopped short. Stared, taking in Kiuchi, who had the stronger signature and therefore posed the biggest threat, and then Syrtis. He frowned and skittered down the street, turning sharply around the nearest corner. Into a back alley.

"Let's follow him!" Syrtis said to Kiuchi, slapping his partner on the back, all stories about where the Dark Moon Senshi had come from pushed right out of his head. He summoned his discus. Surged forwards with a joyous whoop, heart pounding with the promise of battle.

That was a sight...a rather odd one. Clearly a negaverse officer and carrying pizza boxes right out of the store. For a moment he wondered why someone would go in, while powered up, to get food. That thought was wiped away by the knights shouted question; aimed at the officer.

"They stole them...." How had no one in the pizza place noticed? By the Captain's stop, and deer in the headlights look, it was obvious they'd stolen the food. So that was someone other persons food? He didn't even really need the knight to slap him, or tell him to follow the Captain, he was already moving after the Captain. "I don't know what you can do...but I can stop him if I can get close enough..." He didn't like using his magic...but this was theft and that was bad, at least in this case it was.

"I can use my magic...if he's close enough." He wasn't though - not yet anyway.

When the boys turned the corner into the alley the Captain with the pizza boxes was nowhere in sight; though the hint of his signature still lingered around them like a bad smell.

Except for a couple of trash cans and one large red trash bin, the alley appeared to be empty. Syrtis approached the bin. Started lifting the lid, tilted his head to peek inside, arm raised with the discus clutched in his hands, prepared to smash it down on Proustite's face -- but it was empty.

At the end of the alley, something stirred. It hulked out of the shadows; a giant spotted hyena, bigger than a lion, large enough to ride. She only had one eye and appeared to be smiling. Behind her, hidden somewhat by the dark of the alley, Proustite stood with his arms open wide. He was smiling too.

She charged, great paws kicking up dust behind her.

"You should probably use your magic now, Kiuchi," Syrtis said at the same time the youma launched herself off her hind legs, jaws wide open, aiming for Syrtis's face.

The Mars page lifted his arms to shield himself - her teeth sank into the leather of his bracers. His discus went flying.

Walking on tip toe, which was a bit uncomfortable, he felt a sort of thrill run through him. The idea that something could jump out at them, like the Captain or some youma, he could feel his nerves pick up and his stomach twist and churn. The Captain was gone though...at least it seemed like that. He could sense them but there was also something else.

Before he could mention it to the knight they both knew what else was here - a big youma. It looked more than a little dangerous, it looked huge. "On it!" And he seemed to be plucking a green glowing hair from his head. Sending it towards the youma he called out his attack. "Gorgon's assault."

Watching for a moment he turned his focus from the youma to the knight he was with. "Hit it with the trashcan lid if you can. My magic should take effect fast."

wuthering gee
Super Sailor Scout Attack: Gorgon's assault.
Like the last attack Kiuchi will pluck a "hair" from his head that glows green. This time that single "hair" multiples into three glowing "hairs" before rushing forward toward three individuals this attack has a six foot radius. Again someone else can move into the way and be hit or a person can avoid the attack by stepping out of range. Getting hit by this will leave a person feeling feverish and sick to their stomach as well as possible blurring vision. The attack will only last for thirty seconds and during this time not moving, or doing so slowly, is advisable as one might make themselves even sicker due to moving, other outside things can of course increase the sick feeling.

You can have it also hit your knight or your Captain as well. Given it can multi hit and range and such.
