”WiggleWiggleYeah!”

The lights have been dimmed a bit as the sun has gone down and most of the vendor's have started to pack up. The center stage for the fair where the pie eating contest and other shenanigans have taken place gives way for DJ MetalView who is ready to drop them sick beats! Tables have been cleared, leaving those wonderful, slick wooden board to become the proper dance floor that you just knew you’ve been craving to get on all day! Time to live it up and jam like there’s no tomorrow!

Landry absolutely hated being here. He hated the crowds and he hated the atmosphere. He loathed the pounding music and the slightly drunk people who were dancing all around without a care in the world. Good, let them have fun, but they really really needed to just leave him alone. Yes, he was at this strange party, and yes, he was being a wall flower or whatever, sitting by himself and glaring at everyone who approached, but it wasn't as if he was here without good reason.

He knew his sister was here, and he knew that she could get carried away and he wasn't about to let that happen. Over protective, probably, but she was his twin after all. And being a good twin meant it was time to suffer it out for her... NO matter how much he detested being here.

At least there were a few good looking people out and about, people he would consider taking pictures of if he had his camera on him. After a few moments his eyes rested on a man seemingly dour just as he was not too far away. Maybe he'd be just a bit better company than his own thoughts.

"This whole thing is ridiculous... Good for watching people make fools of themselves, though. Wouldn't you agree?" Landry asked, approaching the man with his own overly sugary drink in his hand. "You certainly don't look like you're enjoying yourself. Any reason why you're here?"

Zachariah hated being there, but he also could not escape it.

He was not sure which bright administrator at Destiny City University had made it their mission to torment him and all the other summer students--not that he really gave a s**t about any of them--by holding a ******** carnival at his university for an entire week. One day was one thing. He was well-used to that insanity at this point, being a senior student that had suffered through many a Fall Festival and Spring Fling. An entire summer carnival going for a week, though, was new and potently unwelcome.

After a while of suffering the noise of the DJ, Zachariah decided to give up on his attempts of hiding in his room and instead emerge onto the quad. Perhaps it would be entertaining. He was not sure. He wished it was not so loud.

There may have been an ear plug in one of his ears as if that would be helpful. It was decidedly not.

When some other man approached him, Zachariah lifted a brow, unamused. Who the hell was--

"I live here," replied Zachariah, flatly, crossing his arms over his chest. He glanced out to the dance floor again, vaguely noticing a couple of the teenagers attempt to grind on each other. He had no interest in seeing that. What happened to dancing at an arm's length apart? Were there not enough chaperones here? "I am fairly sure literally no one here knows how to dance."

"You live here? Ah... This must be hell for you then." Someone more miserable here than he was, Landry thought. How could they not be, given that they had no choice but to deal with this atrocious party until the school shut it down. He did not envy him in the least. His gaze followed after the other man's, wincing as he saw the most disturbing so-called dancing he ever encountered in his life be played out before him.

".... They might as well be flopping tuna... It's... It's horrifying, honestly. But if it bothers you so much, why are you here? You could be doing just as well to hide away in your room, headphones in than actually having to witness this nonsense."

"Yes."

This was his own personal hell. Usually, summer living on campus was his favorite time. Less students meant that there was less noise, less parties, less ... people, really. Of course, then the administration decided that it was just too peaceful, that they could not have this ******** carnival elsewhere, that they had to take over the entirety of the quad with this bullshit--

Zachariah's eyebrow quirked as he watched one man attempt to break dance. It was awful. He was fairly sure he was attempting to show off, but the lack of talent shined in the way the man had to keep repositioning himself. It did not look fluid. It also looked like he was about to swing his leg in such a way that it would send someone else tumbling.

Honestly, Zachariah wished he would.

"Their lack of talent is astounding. I am waiting for them to knock each other over. That may at least be funny."

There was a moment why he considered why he was not in his room, and scoffed, before lifting a finger and pointing out the nearby dorm building. "You see that building over there? With this ******** loud nonsense, hard to block it out from that distance. Gave up."

He glanced over to the other and quirked a brow. "Why are you here if you do not live here?"

"Funny indeed..." Landry always could appreciate others like him who found minor entertainment in the misfortunes of others. It made him feel like just a little bit less of an a*****e. Not that it bothered him in the least.

His eyes followed where Zachariah pointed and gave a solemn, pitying nod. The normal silence that came with being alone for the summer on campus was most definitely gone with this party going on.

"You know, you could have left campus for a while. Gone to a cafe, or to a quite place further from here. Surely you have friends who aren't here, right?" At the other man's question, he gave a tired sigh and pointed to a blonde girl dancing in the crown. She was having far too much fun, in his opinion, and would often go and grab a partner and dance with them. Over and over and over again.

"My twin is here... I'm here as a guardian so that she doesn't make any stupid mistakes tonight... I swear though, I'd rather put my head through that beam over there than be here for any other reason besides her."

Surely he had friends?

That in itself seemed like quite the funny joke, and Zachariah could not help the odd chortle he gave in response. Friends. That was funny. Why the ******** would Zachariah want to associate himself with any of these people? If people acted so often the way he was watching them act, having friends seemed like a bad idea.

(It honestly seemed like a bad idea for many reasons, but loud carnivals where people were dancing awfully were not the place to be reflecting on that.)

"I cannot hole myself in a cafe for a whole ******** week," finally decided Zachariah, crossing his arms once more as he watched the dancers. Hopefully, they would stop soon. That would be ideal. Perhaps, then, he could go back to studying. Maybe they would switch to a slower song soon. At the very least, that would be less annoying.

Rather put his head through a beam? Zachariah could, admittedly, sympathize on some level. "That is fair. Does she seem to be," he snorted, "behaving, at least? At least her dancing is not too awful."

"This hellish landscape is going on for the whole damned week? I'm so sorry for your struggles." This time, Landry meant what he said, giving a quick pitying and and slow head shake as the very thought that a party like this would go on for a whole week near his home sent unpleasant shivers down his spine.

An hour or two he could tolerate, but he felt it absolutely necessary after all this loud nonsense to sit in silence and let the quiet fall over him...

"Yeah... She is--- s**t." And there it was. The first a**-grab of the night, the first fist his sister threw into a dude's gut for getting way too close and way too handsy. Yes, sometimes she did like that sort of thing, but it seemed tonight was just not their night. In an instant, he was up on his feet, giving an apologetic nod to the man who had been keeping him company.

"Looks like duty calls... Have a good night." It didn't seem like he had any expectation to return, not with the shouting match that started. Ah well... Nothing ever seemed to go his way anyway.
