All of the hustle and bustle of the day is coming to an end, and only a few stragglers are left. Stands are all closed up for the night, and the last bus is preparing to take off to the schools once again. As tired as you are, you still manage to take this quiet moment to reflect on your day. Whether those memories were good or not, you just know you’ll remember them for years to come.
The last bus was due to arrive soon and Genevieve was tired - dead tired. She’s walked and run all about the fair grounds, from food truck to game booth to rides, and she was feeling it. Nearly falling into the bench that was where the bus would be arriving the dark haired woman sat herself down heavily.
“So worth it!” Declaring it for anyone around her to hear, she didn’t care who heard her. She leaned back a bit and smiled to herself. She’d had a good time. She’d played several games, not spending too much on them, and tried several different kinds of food. Some of the foods had been too oily or greasy, she hadn’t liked them, but over all the foods offered weren’t bad. Normally she would never touch street foods...which is what she considered food trucks as well...but the smells had been too tempting.
“I just hope I don't regret all that food later.” Which she very well might, it just meant she’d need to spend more time powered up...she’d been on a hiatus from it for too long. Why had Christa not dragged her out at night and had her patrolling? She really didn’t know...maybe she should talk to her friend soon...see about going out - maybe tomorrow night?
Today had been good though - really good. She had the paperwork in to adopt another kitten, as if she didn’t have enough cats in her home, but the place could use more little feet running about and more mews filling the hallways. Really the house was just so big and a few cats didn’t seem to fill it up enough with life, since her parents were still out working a lot.
The kitten had grabbed her attention at the animal shelter set up...the poor thing had lost it’s mother and other siblings and it was all alone and she wanted to give it a proper family - a big family. So she’d filled out the paperwork and they just wanted to check her home and make sure it would be safe...and see if the kitten and her cats all got along, she was sure they would. They said the kitten was good with other cats and she knew her cats were, for obvious reasons.
So she should have a new little one running and scampering about soon. But that wasn’t eh only good thing today! No, not at all. She’d had some cute guy with her on the tunnel of love boat trip...though sadly she hadn’t gotten more than his name - no number or anything. It had been awkward, at least for them.
She was hoping to run into them again...or maybe someone cute who was interested. It really made her wish for someone to date...something she’d never really wished for. Just the passing idea or seeing someone with their boyfriend and wondering what it would be like...and when someone would ask her out….because she was sure she couldn’t manage to ask someone out herself.
When the bus arrived she stood up, watching the other people move into some sort of a line, she followed along with everyone else and shuffled onto the bus where she took a seat in the back...she had a long trip home.
