The chaos signature was hard to pinpoint as it moved through the factory district and between unused offices on a much quieter part of town. It wad perfect for any agent or senshi to get some energy outside of security but that didn"t mean it couldn't also be a youma looking to the only energy still out and about. He hoped for the dmc as he didn't care to fight his once-fellow agents and youma wee just sad yet respected by him. It was nice to have company. Hawa didn't come with him as much. Work at home kept him busy and tired.
They were moving across the rooftops as he looked about, sensing it closer. "I think it stopped moving as much. Maybe they got someone." He said as he looked back at Venice.

"That's the best thing to assume." He doubted they were waiting to be found by them. DMC though....some might not have an issue with knights or even like them so might just be waiting for them with some sort of friendly intent. The DMC, in his opinion, were an odd group but he didn't agree with taking energy from people no matter what, well unless it was given over with permission.
"Hopefully we can stop whatever they're doing." Assuming it was energy gathering. While it was possible for them to just be waiting for them to arrive it wasn't likely, most wouldn't just wait around for order to turn up....right? He couldn't think of many knights or senshi wouldn't go after a dark mirror senshi simply because of what they were.
"At least they don't feel like an eternal." Because while he had no doubt they could handle it...it would be less of a fight for them.

"It doesn't seem to be a wraith since I only detect one signature. Could be a lieutenant or just a feral youma. Do you see anything around us?" He said, moving forward as he looked out to the dim lights that occupied the large lots around the factories, a few with burned out or flickering bulbs. It brought back memories of when he used to come here to pick off security guards and he kind of hoped it was a fresh lieutenant just so he could be proud of them for picking good areas to start training. It was a smart decision after all. Security cameras could only cover so many angles, many didn't have the electrical setup for them around these old buildings, and there was enough space to hide and ambush anyone.
It was sudden. The slight creaking of the sheet of metal they were standing on bowing and then a popping of metal under their weight. Gev's eyes immediately looked around fast enough to see the bolts that fixed the metal to the roof were rusted and popping up as the ground shook under them.
"GET OFF!" He shouted, but the metal already bowed again and pieces of sheet metal and rusted metal gave way as the pair of them fell into darkness.
Metal beams and pipes caught them in the darkness about their bodies as they fell, hitting them and smacking against the ground before they fell down into a narrow hallway, metal and rusted dust falling all around them with cymbal-like clangs.
And then all was quiet again. The distant echo traveling down the hallways and massive factory and it's many corridors before it dissipated into silence.
The ground was dusty, and far up ahead was the smallest glimmer of sky above criss-crossed by bent and broken pipework and beams they had passed on their way down. High enough not to be reachable and too far down from the opening to be used as a launchpad.
Gev groaned before he coughed out the rust and taste of blood, wincing against the dizziness from the fall.

"I agree, it only feels like a basic dark mirror senshi - not a wraith or a youma." Though wraiths and youma did feel a bit similar to him, they were similar in nature anyway weren't they? They did similar things and both were chaos after all. They were close though, he was sure of it, and so it was no surprise that he was looking around even as his fellow knight told him to. "Nothing yet....they have enough darkness and shadows though." And with a dark uniform it would make finding them hard, it was bound to. That was one thing the other side had for an advantage. All of them, no matter what faction, went out at night...order stood out with their lighter and bright uniforms. Chaos did have the advantage when it came to hiding and not being seen...and many seemed to use it to their advantage.
The creaking didn't bother him but the shaking and buckling feeling did. "No time!" He shouted at the other. There was no time for him to get off, he wasn't close enough to the edge to jump, or throw himself, off the roof. They were going down!
On the way down a few cuts, from metal, were accumulated but the fall was what hurt...or rather the landing. The fall didn't hurt it was the sudden stop at the end. Air left his lungs all in one quick moment as pain raced through him. Damn it...that hurt and he was going to be bruised, at least. As he turned, slowly, to the side he took in what air he could, choking on the dust which they'd kicked up into the air with their landing.
"You ok?" He was sure he could feel something wet in his hair and down the back of his neck, slowly trickling. Great...he was bleeding. His back hurt from the landing and he could feel all the little, at least he thought they were little, slices and cuts he'd managed along the way. Coughing as he took in a few deep breaths, the dust and other crap in the air doing more harm than good.

A few coughs in a dim light and Gev turned to his side, catching his breath and holding his side. He only realized his hand was bleeding from the cold feeling he had against his ribs and he held it out to see the cut through his gloves. He had lost so much sensation from cut nerves and broken digits through the years that it was sometimes hard to notice.
Slowly sitting up, he continued to catch his breath and coughed again.
"Sorry. I should have noticed the weak roof panel." He managed and coughed a few times again before the dust seemed to settle and give them some chance to breath clearer air.
Wiping his eyes, he looked around and he felt himself grow colder at the dark, windowless corridors and broken pipes around him. "We....We should get back up." He managed as he bolted back up, staggered, and then looked up at the roof. "We could probably reach that beam." He said, and without waiting on a answer, kicked off and reached out only to miss by a few feet and land again, nearly hitting another pipe on his landing. Dust rose around him as he waved the cloud away before he looked around and then tried again, this time kicking off on a pipe but it proved even less sturdy than anything else during the fall had been and barely gave him the power to reach any higher resulting him him falling again, this time with 2 more loose pipes and landing harder than the first time. The dust sprang up and he started coughing again.

"It's ok...didn't notice either." His head throbbed in time with his heartbeat, or so it seemed anyway, the headache he had and the pain in his back were firece and when he went to move things swam for a moment as pain moved through him. Moving really wasn't a nice idea right now but laying here would get nothing done and it wasn't the best of ideas to remain here.
"How? We can't get to roof tops." Not as they were right now. Staggering up to his feet, using his hands to help himself get up, the squire managed to wipe at the blood on the back of his neck. Fingers gently probing at the back of his head...well Terry wouldn't be happy...but the other would patch him up anyway. If he wound up needing stitches he knew the other would take him...and scold him later, after worrying.
They really should tell the twins about being knights....they'd have questions about things after this. There was no avoiding it right now...not after this.
"It's not safe...we need to find the exit..." The normal exit..a door somewhere. It was dark though and with no light from the outside it would be difficult to find the door out of the place. But the other jumping and falling was only going to hurt the other further, and make it harder to get out of here. it would also make them sitting ducks, if anyone came for them, on their way home from here.
Staggering his way over to the other, nearly tripping, he reached out towards the other. "Come on, there has to be a door. Don't keep hurting yourself. We can't jump it."

Gev looked up again, fixating on the broken patch of skylight they had come down through before looking around, assessing the situation. Re-evaluating any position that would get him enough traction and momentum to get high enough. Nothing. The building hadn't been used for ages and most of the it had fallen into disrepair. If was a wonder more of the upper floor they had fallen through coming down hadn't come down with them, and at least the main frame and fixtures were solid enough.
But he could smell it. The distant smell of abandon. Of some metal and mold mingled into the stale, dusty air. The distant pings of dripping water and unknown vibrations of old factories. He could see the darkness expanding all around him and closing around his vision.
Shaking his head, he brought his bleeding hand up to press against his brow, gripping his bangs as she shook his head again and again as he thought. Venice was right. They had to find a door. They had to find a way out. They had to get out.
He wanted out.
He wanted out right now.
He wished he could teleport.
He wished he was anywhere but here.
He wanted to go home.
Where was Hawa?
He couldn't dare change. They could find him. He couldn't get his phone. He had no crystal. Knights didn't have crystals.
His eyes moved about the area as he shook his head again. "No.."
"Nono......This.....I dont' wanna be here." He turned around and looked up again and then at the corridor that stretched on both sides of them. A long hallway.
His skin turned cold as he felt his heart racing and he started to breath heavier as he looked around again and again, turning in place. "I don't wanna be here."
"no."
"I don't...." He started taking large swallowing breathes of air, gasping deeply.

Watching the other, wondering if he's find some other means of getting out of this warehouse, Venice waited silently. He knew the obvious way was find the door, every building had a door...at least all buildings where people once worked or lived and such. This building had a door...somewhere - they just had to find it. Jumping for the roof though wasn't going to work but maybe Gévaudan would figure something out, the other had more experience.
What he didn't expect was how frantic the other looked when he was turning his head about and moving this way and that. It was almost like the other was in a panic....? Did he not like dark places? But that didn't make sense...right? Maybe the fact they were inside a dark building? But did he not sleep at night, at home, with his lights out?
"Gévaudan?" Reaching out towards the other he paused, not wanting to touch him and startle him. He seemed...vulnerable and like he might jump and lash out if he was touched...that he was a bit lost maybe? A bit lost in his panic and in whatever was bothering him....whatever he was focused on.
"I don't want to either. But that's why we're going to find the door...so we can get out. Then we can see about the bangs and cuts we have...." Finally, as the others breathing altered he reached out and gripped the other by the shoulder. Pulling the smaller knight into his arms he held onto him. "It's ok...." This wasn't what he thought of when he thought of the other knight...not at all. Damn it...what was he going to do? he needed to get them both out and make sure the other didn't work himself into some sort of a panic attack.

Venice's words had just been a wash over him. A presence that said he was there, but confirming a situation he didn't want to be in. That they would have to go into the building. That they couldn't just leave. That somewhere in there might be something ready to take them. Chain them. Lock them.
Maybe it was a set up.
Maybe they were there inside waiting for them.
Maybe this had been a trap just as it had been a trap before.
What would he do then? Tanzanite wouldn't be there to save him. She wouldn't save him. Not when he was this disgusting thing. A knight. A ex-negaverser. A traitor against Metallia and to what Tanzanite had told him not to do. He ruined her words. He was a disgrace to her. She would leave him to rot and -
He felt himself moved up against the other knight, and he stiffed a moment before pressing his brow against the man's chest, taking slower, deeper breathes but able to find security in the more real, softer darkness between them.
It's ok.
He took a slow breath.
It's ok. It's ok. It's ok. He tried rolling the thought through his head.
It was just a place. It was just a corridor. He wasn't there.
A hand slowly moved up to grip the edge of Venice's shirt and twisted it into a wad of cloth to hold onto.
"I want out." He muttered into his chest.
"I can't be here."

"I know...I can see that. We'll get you out." He answered, ducking his head down to rest his chin atop the smaller males head. "We'll get you out and get you someplace safe." he didn't know where, maybe he could find out where the other lived and get him home. He imagined the other would feel safer at home with his husband. But he couldn't be sure. He just needed to get them out of here now. They were both injured and right now he didn't think powering down, so he could get his phone and call his own husband, would be a good idea. Being powered up gave more strength and that he needed right now.
"When we get out of here I'll power down and call Terry. He can get us and bring us wherever you want to go." Wherever was safe for the other.
"First we need to get out of here though...are you good for me to move?" He'd take the lead here, he had to, and find them the exit. HE didn't mind if it meant the other clung to him the whole time. It might be an inconvenience, a big one even since he was injured, but he'd do what he had to. This was not just a fellow knight but someone he wanted to consider a friend and even a teammate perhaps.

There was silence for a moment before Gev nodded slowly, then stepped back, his grip on Venice's shirt not being removed as he stood there. His eyes downcast, they would snap to the right and left to some heard or unheard noise and then back to Venice, sticking as close as he could without tripping the man if he decided to move. The grip on his shirt was a white fist, enough to tear it apart if Gevaudan willed it but instead held it like a rope teetering over a Grand Canyon.
The deep breathing returned, not in large swallows as if he was drowning, but with a clear show of forcing control. His complexion was still white, and his one working eye was wide, straining to see in the dark.
"Watch out for them. They could be hiding." He whispered.

He didn't ask who he had to watch out for, now wasn't the time, he'd ask later if he thought about it. For now he nodded his head. "I'll watch out for them. No one will get us." He knew whatever the other was thinking it wasn't a real threat. Maybe it had been once, in the past, but he would go along with it for the others sake. Right now it was best to agree with the other and just make sure the smaller felt safe, so they could get out of here in one piece.
"I'll keep a look out for them." Gev didn't need to know that he would really be keeping his eyes out for a door, he wasn't likely to think about that right now it seemed. "Do you think you can look for a door?" Wanting to keep the other occupied, it might be best if the other was thinking of something else and doing something. It also would be another person looking into the darkness for a door so they could get out.
"We'll get out of here - I promise." It was after all just a warehouse, an abandoned one. They'd be fine, at least as fine as they already were. "Let's go." With the other still clinging to his vest, but with room to move, he was able to start walking into the darkness. He kept an arm about the other while his other hand went out to run along the hallway wall, once they reached the hallway, incase he landed upon a door. It was what firemen did, or at least similar, right?

The arm around him kept him from falling back and he nodded when asked to find a door. Venice was taking the situation seriously, and he felt glad that he was also looking out for danger and possible ambush while at the same time just as urgent in getting them out of a situation that could lead to a surprise attack. But it was dark, Venice was inexperienced, and even those with the most experience hadn't been able to keep them from being ambushed the first time. It could all be futile. They could be walking right into the predicted area to snatch them both.
The warehouse probably went in deep and dark.
Who even knew they were here.
While hie eyes at first looked around for a door, he jerked his head to look over his shoulder behind them.
Quiet.
Muttering.
His attention flickered to something in the corner of his eye, and heart up into his throat, he looked out and down when they crossed a corridor that went to the right of the one they were walking.
A distance scream muffled out and dying out.
He gripped more tightly.
His breathing picked back up.
It came again.
No one would find them. No one was there. Right? No one was there. It wasn't an agent. It was no one. It was in his head. Just in his head. There was no one there. No one there. They weren't there.
His attention when ahead and he swallowed hard as his throat went dry and looked down, shaking it over and over. "....stop singing......sshhhh.......shhh......."
Again he shook his head before freezing in place, taking a misstep, and then following back in step with Venice when he felt his arm guide him forward, looking ahead again with frozen attention and suddenly quiet before looking quickly back down again and shaking his head.

He kept his pace slow, since he didn't think the other could walk too fast, it was also better for himself anyway. He could feel a bit of blood dried up against the back of his neck and sighed once. Well...Terry would understand, so would his elder cousin. It wouldn't be that bad...though his head still throbbed. "See anything?" He asked softly, keeping his voice low and his head ducked down close to the others ear as he spoke, not wanting to raise his voice.
He knew no one was here, he couldn't sense anyone. He knew cats were a thing and he knew a cat could help in masking someones signature but he highly doubted that was the case here. A lot of what he was doing was for the others sake...because it seemed to be what Gev needed right now.
"Shh, it's ok. No ones singing....it's all good." He whispered before lifting his head so he could try and see into the dark. The problem was...dark eyes weren't as good for seeing in the night, he could remember that odd fact his cousin had once told him. She had told him lighter eyes were better at seeing at night...while dark eyes were better with handling sunlight and brightness. That didn't help him right now...
"It can't be that long of a hall. The building wasn't that big. We have to be coming up on a door soon." They'd passed a corridor, if they had to they could go back to it...if they found no door and a dead end this way. When the other nearly tripped, due to a misstep of some sort, he pulled him back in close and held him tight. "Go slow...be easy. I'm right here."

He didn't want to see anything. Every time he looked about, when he tried to look for a door, something flickered his attention and the room felt dimmer. The corners of his vision got darker, and he felt more and more like the walls were moving in on him. More and more they were turning around on him and closing off. More and more a door was closing and locking them in place away from everyone where no one could hear them screaming day after day after day.
Places like this were tombs. They ate a person. Suffocated them as they bleed clawing against the walls.
Venice's words were becoming more distant and the screaming, the singing, the pang of metal, the shuffling of feet moving in the dark closer and closer to his own door, louder and louder to him.
He'd jerk to look behind him and then look around again to the right, left, front, and back again. Sure there was someone rushing to knock them out. Sure that someone would hold a cloth to his mouth and he'd go unconscious again. Sure that this was a move against him.
He wanted to fight it. Claw against it. Tear through it. But that was swallowed whole but the freezing sheer terror and panic that held onto his heart like a vulture squeezing it's frigid talon's into his beating heart, making it painful to breath and making him feel like this was the end to it all.
Despite wanting to rush ahead. Despite wanting to run and race and pull Venice with him to rush as fast as he could until he could see light again, his body was shutting down, barely able to guide itself forward without Venice's help. Instead, he felt himself shaking, and his face between wet as tears started to well up inside him as she kept singing to him.
When the screams kept coming. When all he wanted to do was make it quiet again.
Reaching up with the one hand not gripping Venice, he pressed his bleeding hand to his ear and tried to make it stop. Tried to make it go away, but the hurt and guilt of seeing her die and the helplessness of that time returned back to him. Back when he was still so young and new to the Negaverse. When he felt himself so much a speck and unimportant but crushingly loyal to those he idolized. When he felt nothing could touch the Negaverse or those who waved it's banner.
But nothing was precious like that. Not the Negaverse. Not loyalty. Not honor. Not respect. Not even life itself. Everything was free to ruin.
He gritted his teeth as he pressed his hand as hard as he could against his ear, clenching as his vision blurred his vision even more, making that dim light go even smaller as he walked with Venice.
