Name: M'non
Age: 33 (Born 3541)
Sex: Male
Sexual Orientation: To be decided
Weyr: Western
Rider Rank: Wingrider
Previous Rank/Craft: N/A
Physical Description: M'non is a bit short for a man, with a long, thin build. As he spends a lot of time outdoors, his skin is tanned and he has sun-bleached light brown hair. It's also frizzy, but rather than cutting it, he tends to braid it so that it hangs to his shoulder-blades. His eyes are small and dark blue, though the dark circles underneath them betray a chronic lack of sleep.
Personality: At first glance, M'non would seem to be an exemplary wingrider; he wakes early, works late, he's personable and hard-working--if you overlook the occasional shaking in his hands and the look of perpetual exhaustion in his eyes, or the way he seems to be working himself into an early grave.
M'non is genuinely outgoing and friendly, and he takes pride in his work. He is persevering, but he can often go from determination to over-stretching himself. And because he keeps his thoughts to himself and tries to hide his deficiencies, he'll do everything he can to hide it when he's stressed. The fellis habit doesn't help.
Positive Trait List Outgoing, cheerful, determined
Negative Trait List Reticent, over-stretches himself, secretive
History: M'non's suffered from night terrors for most of his life. Maybe it had something to do with growing up an orphan, abandoned in Bitra Hold to fend for himself with only a drunken gambler for a foster mother. He had a fairly lucretive career as a pickpocket preying on rich tourists, which was helped by his cheery and bold nature, until he was discovered by a gruff but kind-hearted blacksmith, and rather than turning him in, the blacksmith decided to make him into his apprentice at ten.
M'non, then name Minon, had always felt a bit of guilt for what he'd done for survival, and so he was happy to get away from that. Smithing was not a job he would have picked for himelf, but he enjoyed learning well enough. He never made it to an official crafthall, and didn't expect he ever would. As he became a teenager, the night terrors began to ease, though they never stopped completely, and sometimes a particularly bad nightmare would keep him awake all night. He was fifteen when a dragonrider from Western visited Bitra on Search. Minon was surprised and delighted when he was informed by the searchrider that the dragon had picked him out as a candidate. If his nightmares sometimes disturbed the other candidates, it was never common or drastic enough to keep him from Standing.
A turn after he'd been Searched, he Impressed a shy little blue named Cruith. M'non managed to make some friends among his fellow weyrlings and wingmates, and he had a few (short-lived) relationships. All seemed to be well for the next three turns or so, but gradually, M'non's nightmares started to get worse, and by his late-twenties, the night terrors were as bad as they'd been when he was a child. He tried to keep it to himself, as much as he was able, and he began to draw away from the people he'd known, though he did have to see a healer. That was when he was given fellis to help him sleep. To M'non's surprise and relief, it worked, and he was finally able to get a reliable good night's sleep. The problem with fellis is, it's not something to take lightly, and now that he knows he can get sleep when he needs it, he finds it hard to keep from taking it too often.

DRAGON
Name: Cruith
Age: 17
Color: Blue
Size: 29'
Physical Description: Cruith is a long, lithe dragon with long wings and sinewy limbs. He has a broad head with a pecularly pointed canine-ish snout. He is dark blue, with pale speckled markings on his wings, torso, neck and tail.
Personality: Quiet and prone to nervousness, Cruith is shy even around other dragons. Especially around other dragons, in fact. He's more comfortable around humans--at least he isn't expected to talk to them. He is patient and well-mannered, but he lacks self-confidence. He tends to hold himself responsible for things that aren't his fault, such as M'non's sleeping problem. It didn't escape his notice that the nightmares started to come back after he Impressed, and Cruith is afraid it's his fault, no matter how M'non's tried to convince him otherwise.
