Any time Cecil Harvey found anything new and interesting, the young boy of eight and, yet, the smallest of his friends, always found Kain and Rosa after. Today was not one of those dayes, nor the day before, or before that. Actually he'd saught the more asocial friends in town -- nice people, and good knights, but not terribly open to help when Cecil found a sick, injured teenager laying on the borders looking absolutely in need of some love, and, surprisingly, they'd been more than willing to listen and help. Cecil wasn't even sure why, but he didn't want Kain or Rosa to see yet. But the nice people -- like Ser Thierremont, a friend of Kain's father -- had not only willingly agreed, but the young teen had been tucked in for tending, in quite the state, and every day since once Kain and Rosa went for lunch Cecil made up a story to go visit the new person while he mended, and today, Abelard, Ser Thierremont's second youngest, had fetched him, because the teen was finally, finally coherant, and had recalled his face, and was now incredibly frantic, and could Cecil come see? The stranger somehow knew his name... So, Cecil did just that, collecting some berries as he made way to the home the boy was in, and once invited in, brought his meager get well gift to the teen's room and crept up to his side, putting the present on an end table and climbing up next to him before smiling and waving brightly. "Hello mister, are you feeling okay cause Abbie said you know my name and you were scared can I help you be unscared I'm gonna be a dark knight one day and help all of the people ever!" It was quite the long sentance for one breath, but, Cecil said it, and the boy beamed, eyes bright. "What's your name?"

Theodor - and it was Theodor, it was, it was, not that vile name from that vile being that tried to make him hate his brother and everything else as much as he hated himself - wasn't doing well, and he knew it. The world was a hazy, jumbled mess because he had no idea what was real and what was a part of the lies he'd been fed, it was a struggle to even hold on to his name and he still wasn't sure if his thoughts actually were just his own. This on top of his physically poor state, from struggling to survive entirely on his own for the last... how long had it even been? Regardless, he wasn't well, and he was aware of that. He was aware of his own illness, and frightened, and the only light in the terrifying mess that was his own mind was small, and fragile, and someone he had wronged horribly. But he had to see him, even if he couldn't forgive himself for what he had done. He had to know that Cecil was okay. And here was that warm little light, climbing up beside him and staring at him with eyes nearly the same color as his own. "...Cecil." This is Cecil, this is - this is his brother, and how could he have ever thought he hated him?

"Teah! My name is Cecil, is your name Cecil too?" The boy had no ideawhat mental state the teen was in -- in fact he didn't even fully grasp what serious affair happened to this teen, but he did see he was sick and so, so very scared and hurt and while Cecil didn't know why, he also knew this teenager was wonderful and needed him more than Kain needed his bedtime stories from Ser Thierremont. The notionof hive minds or his Lunarian heritage were a complete mystery, so the hazre seemed to him as if an alien thing -- why would he struggle finding this one? He was right in front of him and sick. So sick, in fact, Cecil wanted to help him get better. Besiders, Cecil found him, so Cecil wanted to look after him, just like he was looked after. Except for maybe far more cuyddles like Rosa got from her mother, or Miss Robin goit from her family that look3ed wonderful and.. Oh, there was an idea to help the stranger mend, and without missing a beat, Cecil tucked himself in under Theodor's chin, cuddling in as if it was right where he ought to have been all along -- and something even said that. This spot felt like the safest in the world, suddenly, and Cecil shut his eyes, nuzzling the chest of this stranger, and smiled. "You seem nice. Whast's your name? Did a bad bandit hurt you? Or one of the mean teenagers? If the meanies hit you you should tell a grownup or Miss Robin she'll beat them up for you." Robin. A girl. Cecil saw no issues in a girl defending other boys, really. Girls were tough too!

"I - " the teenager started to say, then closed his eyes with a sigh. It was taking so much energy just to sort out what was happening in front of him - this was real, right? Not a dream? Not something from when he would try to hide, small and quiet, in the back corners of his mind? (Which never worked anyway, but he couldn't seem to stop trying.) "I'm... Theodor." Theodor, not Golbez. Not a vile insect, not a murderer - Cecil is alive, even if mother and father aren't. He hadn't failed completely. "I - " he tried again, then wrapped his arms around the little body and squeezed as tears welled up in his eyes. "...I'm sorry. I'm - I'm so sorry, Cecil..." He wasn't sure what the little boy was babbling about, really, but it was nice to hear him do so anyway - he seemed happy, and safe, and that was all Theodor could have ever asked for.

"Theodor is a nice na--" And before Cecil could finish his sentance, the teenager poulled the boiy into a hug and was apologizing. Cecil, for his part, blinked slowly, eyes going big in surprise at the sudden hug before he unintentionally squealed in delight mentally -- unaware anyone could pick up on his mind, even, as he all but nestled in against Theodor. Grown ups didn't hug as often as he liked and teenagers even less unless he asked but THIS! This was the single most wonderfyul moment in his day -- unsolicited hugs from a nice new person and Cecil adored hugging and cuddling and thew boy decided right then this was his new favorite teenager or grownup. Theodor, this new face that just seemed really nice if tired waqs WONMDERFUL AND PERFECDT AND GREAT AND HE LOVED IT. The mental squealing drew an older mind to investigate quickly at the outburst, more alarmed than anything before curiously nudging ?Cecil's mind over, practiced and deliberatte as it inspected the boy without him noticing before it seemed to start, inspecting Theodor. With Theodor it made itself far more known -- he felt hazy, injured -- well the mind knew a mind healer, even if untrained, among the children -- but oh, oh oh oh they were both half Lunarian, and no parent -- oh but they were a family. Was... Was the boy's mental hurts why Cecil was a foundling? WELL. Robin knew far better than to nestle in near a Lunarian with an unchecked child -- Regula had neaqrly truamatized her inspecting Yolie as a child, let alone Varis for Zenos, and Robin chose this time instwead to nudge Cecil to Theodor's mind, gently batting just enough haze that the little boy's mind was in easy rteach of his brother's before touching Theodor's mind directly, even good naturedly. I think youmind want to reign in your little family member my friend. Robin mentally cautioned the child. Everyone in our street just got a dose of hyperactive little boymind and some of the parents are like to dislike it if he's not taught to be polite. Or, anyhthing I guess. But is wasn't scolding and Robin pulled her mind away from the pair quickly with the impression she respected the privacy need with children. Cecil was entirely confused -- then blinked at the fod in his own mind trying to spill, and he pressed into Theodor to hide. He hadn't hurt himself today, so the loopy was very confusing, but he was close to a big warm and safe, and while completely confused by being out of it any, he did know, just somehow, unaware yet of hive mind, that he was in safe arms that would chase the icky away. "Why are you sorry Mister Theodor?" Cecil asked instead, softly.

Theodor flinched, the sudden presence almost too much after so long buried in either silence or hatred, and he pulled the little boy closer even as he mentally pulled away, trying to put up some kind of a protection against what felt not unlike raw wounds being scraped. He didn't fully understand what was going on - only that there was a voice, a voice like the one that had convinced him of awful things but not, because this was kinder, and softer, and nudged another presence to him that didn't hurt. But he didn't understand what was going on, who was speaking to him or whether it was even real, and it frightened him. Some part of him that was instinct tried to guard the little presence he could feel pushing up against him, but he didn't know how, didn't even know if he was helping or hurting more in the trying. ... It was all so strange, but - but at least the awful voice was gone... "I left you," he told the boy, the words coming out choked and shaking, his gaze searching for any sign of the other voice's owner, wondering what he had heard and what he needed to do about it. "I left you, I'm sorry, I - I hurt..."

Cecil didn'ty understand anything about what was going on mentally, but feeling close to this new face -- well it felt absolutely safe, and even warm. SAnd he seemed so scared, and Cecil wasn't sure how but he knew and soon he was trying to osmose to cuddle, eyes bright and hjappy as he reached, patting Theodor'ws chedek. "But you came back now and I'm ok and you'll be okay so it's okay. Are we a family? I never had one the king said he found me but if you left me you must be it's okay I'm okay you'll be okay Mister Theodor!" Cecil was absolutely beaming to the older boy, tucking close to him somehow more, and looking upo with eyes full of love. "Is having famikly hard? I dunno how to but will you teach me please?" He hoped, Theodor seemed just wonderful and he absolutely began radfiating love and joy meeting him, earning an exasperated sigh before the presence returned, a tiny bit firmer this time. She focused on the baby first this time, huffing as she threw walls around him bar the part tying itself to Theodor rapidly with rexasperation. Such a LOUD boy, this one, however, reaching Theodor, she paused, feeling out his fear before very slowly, the mind reached to share her face. Robin was rather unused to the inexperienced of even a half Lunarian, and this was a new challenge -- she was no expert like Grandmother Solee, and the teen caved to curiousity, nudging Theodor gently. Your little brother is really loud, I'm trying to make it so he doesn't startle anyone. Robin explained softly. Don't worry, none of us will hurt. We're like you, we're Lunarians.. Or half... Or mates like my Dad. I'm not gonna hurt you, that's a gross misuse of the hive mind.Robin mentally sat, close, touchable, but made herself seem soft. The poor boy... He was so scared, Robin wasn't sure how to help, but she wasn't letting him think himself mad. We can touch other minds and sdhare words, memories, and feelings. Are... You gonna be okay? Pleawe don't be scared. I won't hurt you. My name is Robin, I'm in a room down the hall cooking with my mother.

'It isn't real,' Theodor thought, or said, he wasn't sure which - it might have been both or neither or something else entirely, he wasn't sure. 'It's not, nothing is real; nothing has been real for so long - it's lies, it's all a trick again, a new voice but the same lies!' A part of him wanted to do - something, drive this person away and hide Cecil somewhere safe, but where could be safe if he could get to him, when he had hurt him once already? A pained noise escaped the teenager, and he curled around the smaller boy, trying to shield him from the threat that seemed to lurk, unseen, in every corner. "I - I'm sorry, Cecil, I am, I don't - I'm not a good teacher, or a good brother, I -" He cut himself off, pressing a kiss to the top of the little boy's head and sighing. "...You're safe? Cared for?" He wasn't all alone? Theodor had had both mother and father, but Cecil never knew either, he deserved to have someone looking after him, someone who loved him. "Cecil. Cecil, you're alright? Promise me you are?" If Cecil was really okay - okay and happy and as full of love and light as it - not exactly sounded, but... close to that - then... then maybe it would all be alright, after all.

" I'm not lying." The reply was half ptient, half hurt, until some moments passed sand the teenager crept in, blue eyes wide in wonder and confusion. "Don't you know about the Hive Mind? Grandmother thinks you might not. The bad mage was using it when I found you and so I kicked his butt. I didn't know people didn't know we had one! Though I didn't know there were other Lunarians. Grandmother says she and grandfather weren't supposed to be here but they liked things and got to stay like some others but most hide. I'm Robin." She didn't draw too close, but made sure he saw her hands and sit by the door. NOBODY approached Lunarian young, even half, if they valued their sanity -- nobody. Parents and siblings could be violent, for the normally gentle race. Cecil, however, had no idea, and enjoyed Theodor's curling as a cuddle, latching on to snuggle in, ravenous for the attention. He snuggled in and looked up, thinking asbout how to answer Theodor, and tilted his head. "I'm not ignored? I don't get cuddles like I'd like but the King says I should be more independant at my age and not clingy? I don't feel clingy though, I like to cuddle, that's all. I'm gonna be a Dark Knight though, so I don't know if I'll get to cuddle much more." At THATY,m Robin nealy wheezed, looking to Theodor in worry. "The King doesn't neglect his wards." Robin admitted. "But he's a former Dark Knight. He's not terribly... Affectionate. Or Warm. Kind, yes. But cold." But Thjeodor needed the danger of Dark Knight impressed to him and him first. " Dark Knight uses the pain and anguish and every bad in a person to fight for a cause. Daddy's a Dark Knight but he feeds it with his vices. He says he can't teach me more than a shell so far because the level of darkness is poisonous. It's BAD. It's. Mmmm. She motioned roughly, frustrated before shutting her eyes, sharing a visual of one such Lunarian whom had learned to try understanding ther planet and had died, agonizingly. Robin never met Grandpa, but Solee had only two children with her mate and while past it, the memory was a very critical lesson, one Robin shared now with a face full of terror for the innocent child -- who was at present kissing Theodor's cheek. "Can you come home with me? I bet you'd like it!"
