Erich had thought this would be something different. Something like actual training that he could have used for his "role" as a Negaverse Agent. Unfortunately it seemed that it was just some silly game show having to do with a ridiculous obstacle course and he really, really didn't want to go through at this point, and was practically glaring as he walked up to it. This was a reason that he liked to stay in the woods so much, to ignore this stupidity that society had decided was "entertaining".
He gave one more disgusted look as he started the course.
The first part was easy. Or at least it was easy to run through and kick off any of the bumpers to reach the next one. Apparently his various camping and hiking activities gave him quite a bit of leg strength to be able to run through as fast as possible. Really though, he should have just failed it right then and there so he wouldn't go through the rest of the course. But his brain was running on adrenaline at this point and he couldn't stop to think about what he was doing and why he was doing it. Besides, it wasn't his style to think first before leaping!
The next part proved to be harder than the first as he had to do a running leap to grab onto the dipper, and unfortunately since he couldn't get a solid jump grabbing it, and felt his fingers slip as he tried to hold on. Usually when he went rock climbing, he could take his time to find a spot that he could grab and haul himself up to, but never when it was moving!
The next part proved easier though. Although it was not a cliff face or any sort of rock, climbing the pipe had been easier, especially in that he had been able to make quite the leap to it. He then took a bit more time to climb the pipe fitter, just to make sure that he was getting a grip on it. His arms felt a bit tired after doing the "monkey bars" part of it though. Again, he didn't quite have the arm strength needed to swing like he should have. Finally however, he got to the other end and quickly slid down, only taking a moment to catch his breath.
Erich didn't have time to look for any patterns with the cubes and leaped onto the first one! He almost lost his balance however as he didn't realize that they were spinning around. He regained it however and quickly moved onto the rest of the cubes. Once he was finished with that part though, there was yet another arm strength part. Honestly, how many jacked-up arms were they expecting for this course?
He had to freaking swing at this point, and now it was just getting ridiculous. He was never going to do something like this again. He would rather get a beating by his Negaverse superiors than have to do this again. This was so incredibly stupid and he was just going to go home and never move his arms again.
He managed to get through it however, and finally, FINALLY there was just a wall. But his arms were so tired at this point he wasn't sure if he could make it. The only thing he could really try was doing a run to it and possibly walking up the wall a bit to get over the edge. There just wasn't much room to do so. He managed to leap and just barely grab the top with both hands, and pull himself up and over, falling on the other side.
As he lay there for a bit, catching a breath, he said, "I am NEVER doing that again."
