Guitar Player - Val got a guitar when they were a young teenager and has practiced using it ever since. They're a decent player and an okay singer. They aren't a good song-writer, so Val mostly covers other songs. They don't play publicly much, but can occasionally be found at bars during the really late hours playing a few songs. In private, they practice often. Val always says they're better at music than words, and like to play to people they're close to.

Knife Collector - One of Val's prized possessions is their heirloom knife given to them by their mom, an engraved switchblade well used in her youth. In addition, Val collects knives of all sorts and can often be found checking out pawn shops for cool blades. When they're out, they can be seen playing idly with their knives, flipping and twirling them, or attempting to carve wood. They can do tricks! But they're just as likely to threaten someone with a knife as they are to show off.

Gardener - One of their more hidden hobbies, Val actually really likes flowers and maintains a small garden outside of their apartment. They learned the names of all their favorites as a teenager, and have a knack for gardening. They linger in the garden section of home improvement stores just a bit too long, dreaming of when they'll have the space to plant everything they want. They're a little ashamed though because gardening doesn't quite match up with their bad-boy persona... Somehow the flower name and interest in floral tattoos doesn't seem like a dead giveaway to their love of flowers.

Virtues:

Passionate -- Val has a great passion for everything they do, and always puts their all into their projects. They don't back down easily, and when they allow themself, they can truly make some beautiful things. When they care about something, they truly and deeply care for it.

Loyal -- Once Val has decided to back a person or a cause, they are loyal as possible, eager to fight for and defend their ideals, their people, and their desires. When forced to choose between two loyalties they have, Val will choose the one they love more. While it may take a bit of effort to befriend and gain Val's loyalty, once you have it Val will protect them with their life. They can be incredibly defensive of those they care about, and will shield and soothe those they love.

Fearless -- They don't fear much in this world, and don't let the idea of possible danger stop them from fulfilling their goals. Failure isn't daunting to them either, as they believe they can press forward even if they might fail. If it doesn't kill them, it can't stop them.

Flaws:

Aggressive -- Val is an angry person, prone to rages and very defensive of their actions, which they channel into aggression against other people. They are willing to shove and fight their way to get what they want, with little regard to its effect on other people. They get into fights often, even over petty things. Val has a tendency to hide all other emotions under this aggressive guise. Between their rages and awful sense of self-worth, Val is a person who can spend time destroying and ruining everything good they have. They will hurt themself, break their own things, and snarl and sneer at those who try to help them.

Impulsive -- Val relies on their gut instinct a lot, and impulsively does whatever they feel is best, without regard to the consequences. They do not spend a lot of time thinking before making any decisions. They make decisions based on what makes the most sense to them in the moment.

Sensitive -- Secretly, Val is hiding a vulnerable part of themself that is sensitive to criticism and judgement. They lash out easily when offended. They hate to be looked down on, and have been made fun of for having feelings in their youth to the point where they'd rather pretend they have none aside from their anger. They react poorly to criticism and judgement, only making those things worse for themself.
