Clementine kept her henshin pen with her for safety, mostly; she was almost never Onnie, had only taken a few trips to the overgrown tunnels of her homeworld over all this time, because even if being stronger was safer it meant she pinged like a beacon to people like Sarabauite, and - it had been easier, before that, but she could have died. She could have died so easily. So it was mostly with Lepus, nowadays, but she kept the pen with her anyways. It was comforting.

She'd gotten better at moving silently - all sorts of nefarious people tended to hang around the parks, because the trees were thick, but at the same time it was a good place to stay - and, well. Bastet wasn't an ordinary cat - too big, for one, and there was the hint of the forehead star from this angle - maybe, maybe - Clem clutched her henshin pen close and whispered, and she left buttercup petals on the trail.

"Um -" she made her way past the treeline, cautiously, wide-eyed - "Sorry, but, um. Are you a Guardian? Like Etoile? If you're not, I mean, I'm just talking to a cat and that's weird, and I don't want to be weird, so..."

"Ohthankgod," Onnie squeaked in relief, visibly relieved that - okay - Bastet had not, in fact, been a completely normal cat and she hadn't just embarrassed herself in front of...herself. Well. When she put it like that it sounded a little childish.

"I'm Onnie! Senshi of Buttercups. ...normally I hang out with Lepus but she's been really busy lately, so I'm tough -" she said it like she hoped it, knowing it wasn't true anyways - "I can go out on my own in the middle of the day on a weekend. I don't need help with anything! Just! Um. I've only ever really met Etoile? And she doesn't really know that much about things, so... I guess, uh. I was wondering about how I get stronger? Because Lepus is a super now, but older Senshi are still stronger than us, and I wanna know why."

"I'm fourteen," Onnie said exasperatedly, like it dismissed all of Bastet's concerns. "And Lepus is younger than I am even though she's way better at this, it's fine, okay? And I'm tough! Or I can be tough. Nobody takes me seriously." She didn't really want to be taken seriously - that made everything so much scarier - but it sounded like a big brave thing to say.

Onnie blew a raspberry, like the pinnacle of maturity she was. "I don't wanna be better than Lepus. I wanna be as good as her so she doesn't have to protect me." She looked down, cheeks pink, scuffing one heel resentfully against the ground. "N' cause there's big scary group fights all the time and I don't wanna get caught in one of those. But. Um. I'd - really like it if you'd help me, Miss Bastet! That'd really mean a lot. Only if you want to, though, 'cause you're probably busy."

She wasn't really sure what a cat would be busy with, but probably important magic things. It sounded about right.

"If you want to!!" Onnie desperately wanted to, but she'd been told she had manners often enough that she frequently tried to remember to use them. And maybe this could happen again - if she was lucky- but why make future plans? It was coming on anyways, and the only thing anyone could do was prepare, easy.
