This is an upgrade for Damien Vetrov


Knight Title: Halicarnassus, Page of Castor

Challenge:
“Really?”
“You Ready?”
“Hell yeah!”

Uniform: Basically this for his first stage. I'm not usually good with costumes so if the artist has any cool suggestions, I'm down.

Weapon & Magic


Page Weapon: Just some plain leather gauntlet. Looks like this he can use them to block some minimal attacks?

Squire: Something a bit more fancy like this. While channeling his magic, Halicarnassus can focus on a single target within fifteen feet and a sudden, heavy force will be pushed down on them. They will feel as though they are suddenly very heavy and it may become incredibly difficult to move, up to immobilization. It will feel as though an opponent is forcing them to stay in place by applying force on all sides. Targets below his rank will be more affected by this force, however no target can be held frozen in place completely for more than fifteen seconds at a time. Stronger opponents may still be able to move but they will feel heavily slowed, as if trudging through water. The force can be so crushing that characters may feel as though they cannot breathe, are bruised, or have broken bones depending on what the player chooses; the player can also choose to take lasting physical damage. His magic can be channeled for 35 seconds.

Knight Weapon: I was thinking he could have a nice gauntlet in the design of the sphinx gauntlet from God of War [it's the one located second on the bottom right.]. While channeling his magic, Halicarnassus can focus on up to two targets within fifteen feet and a sudden, heavy force will be pushed down on them. They will feel as though they are suddenly very heavy and it may become incredibly difficult to move, up to immobilization. It will feel as though an opponent is forcing them to stay in place by applying force on all sides. Wonder is good, challenge all good. Uniform looks fine to me though you may want to call out specifically where the appropriate colors from the Castor Knight swatch will go - and if you and your artist want to work something more out with the design specs that's A-OK too!

Weapon progression is logical and neat-o (I looove the Sphinx gauntlet, btw).

My biggest concern here is his magic. I feel either there is some clarification needed, or an alternate choice in execution. Unlike senshi, knights don't have casting numbers - their magic lasts as long as they want it to last. They have their 'pool' of magic (the length of time their casting can last at maximum) and they can decide however they want to split it up: if Halicarnassus wanted to knock Aue back for 12 seconds and Tiberius back for 5, he would have used a total of 17 second from his magic pool.

TL;DR on the magic pool is this: Knights can use their magic until they've used up all their 'time'[magic].

For an offensive magic like the knockback, he would have a 25 second pool at squire and a 45 second pool at Knight.

If you wanted to change the magic, I have a suggestion that involves playing around with gravitational forces quite a bit using the gauntlet. Same weapon progression, and at squire he can activate a gravitational field on a selected target that immobilizes them (with the severity based upon opponent rank vs Halicarnassus' rank) and can - if the player wishes it - effect crush damage for flavor text a la this lovely example here.

As it is offensive magic, it would be appropriate for him to be able to cast for a total of 20 seconds at squire and 40 seconds at knight.

I hope that my critique is helpful in completing Knighto's profile for stamping! The suggestions I made are just that - suggestions - and you do not have to take them; however, the issues I noted will need to be corrected before he can be stamped properly.

Overall the parameters of this look like they could work, but I can’t stamp just yet! Knights get their power from the planet or homeworld they are affiliated with, and so each type of Knight has a different power theme; in the case of Castor Knights, their magic should be based on ‘brotherhood, devotion, or force’. Before I can give crit or suggestions, I was wondering if you were incorporating any of these power themes into the magic? I didn’t really see any of those three in the magic, but if you had something you were going with, I’m willing to consider! (It would help if you include at least one power theme in the magic, so you might have to do some minor tweaks to incorporate them somehow before I can stamp, but if you’d like ideas, I can come up with a few!)
