Really, there'd been no need for the boat to come into port. Last she'd checked they were full up on supplies and hardly had a load worth dropping off; part of the teen suspected that one of her dads had something up his sleeve with the date being this close to her (supposed) nameday. If that was the case she didn't see why they couldn't just celebrate it out at sea, with the sky birds and the shipfish joining in the off-key choir that sang to show the passing of the Turn. Being on shore often made the teen antsy, and as she helped unload the meager (in her opinion) fish delivery she cast her eyes back out at the rise and fall of the tide.
The weather was warm enough that she thought about getting a quick swim in. Her dads wouldn't need her until later if what she suspected was true, and it wasn't like she had any friends at this particular port. Her family's ship had come here several times, sure, but that didn't mean she'd sought out friendly company whenever they had shore leave. Taking the risk and the knowledge that they'd hunt her down if she was needed, the buffed-up blonde dropped off her catch and headed towards a remote lagoon not too far from the general area.
Having stripped down to her unders, not caring for something as pointless as modesty, she slipped into the cool waters and welcomed the relief from the hot day. With a contented sigh, the teen rolled onto her back and allowed herself to float.

Days like this were the best! They'd gotten done with Wingrider work, and had a chance to enjoy a beach. Whenever she was barely able to get away, Aniela would just poof off, like she had today. Tucked in to a rarely used lagoon, Xaphrith was watching from a perch above, while his Rider soaked in the rays. Her skin was getting darker now, from both Rider work and the precious few hours spent like this. What surprised her was a sudden croon from Xaph, who was suddenly intrigued. Violet-blue swirling eyes watched a new, nude form slide in to the water, and the Brown let his Rider know JUST what he was thinking. That one, and wouldn't His be just the right one to tell her so! There were clutches on the way, after all! Slipping to her feet, the Rider was only in her underclothes, clearly unabashed. Her golden hair was all the way to her waist, figure lithe, "Oi, you! Come here, I'd like to talk to you for just a moment!" |

Oh....fardles. What the teen had apparently thought to be an abandoned lagoon was most certainly not abandoned on this very day, and she attempted to slip beneath the surface and find an escape. It wasn't that she was anti-social, hardly, but it was more than her clothing clung to her in a rather unflattering way and her actual cover up was on the far side of the shore. So, unless this stranger (whom she couldn't really see) wasn't careful, they were going to get a whole lot of her that not a lot of people had seen. Ever.
She also couldn't be rude though, and if her dads found out she'd ignored someone in favor of doing her own thing she'd never hear the end of it. From dawn until dusk there would be a lecture, and then another lecture, and then they'd likely try to find this stranger and have her apologize. And then another lecture. Sometimes the teen just wished they stuck to awful puns.
".....coming." When her head popped back up she slowly swam her way over, careful to keep her torso beneath the murky waters. It wasn't like she was unable to tread water and talk - shards, she could likely tread water and sleep. "Something I can do you for?"

Oh, shards. That poor girl looked uncomfortable. Aniela had to wonder at people that GOT uncomfortable around others, but she was a child raised without shame or fear of...anything. Shaking her head, she sat on the edge of the water, still only in her smallclothes, unabashed, "More something I can do for you. My name is Aniela of Brown Xaphrith. It's a pleasure to meet you. The lazy beast up there sunning himself is the dragon, and he wanted me to speak to you about something RATHER important. He seems to be under the impression that you would be an absolutely PERFECT candidate to Search and bring home." Above, the Brown trilled, before lowering his spotted bulk to rest on the shore, letting his head arch over Aniela's shoulder to look at the girl in fascination. She was indeed perfect. |

The teen raised an eyebrow, trying to take in everything that was being said. Something about search, about dragons, and, uh. She couldn't recall the last time she'd seen a dragon this close, and slowly the blonde swam closer to get a better look. Eventually she was out of the water and her reason for hiding was more or less shown, though if the rider wasn't about modesty then it was clear the teen wasn't either. Her underclothes clung to her and showed off, well, everything, and she paused to put her hands on her hips. "What do you mean, 'search'? You were looking for me?"
Did her dads send this woman? But why, and why with a dragon? She hadn't been gone long at all, not to mention the lagoon was a somewhat known spot by her entire family. There was also the idea that she didn't think she was important enough to merit a dragonrider being sent to get her. "Also, what home? Back to the boat?"
