Thank the gods that the storms had finally passed and the skies were finally at peace. The pride could take a breath of relief that things hadn't gotten worse and finally enjoy the silver sands of the beaches once again with out getting rained on. The past several months had been stressful for Faun as he took a great deal of the blame upon him self for the rocky start to the prides new lands. He was a lion who was extra hard on him self when things went wrong which was a very unhealthy way of being. Luckily he started out gray. Things were a lot easier for Faun now that the storms had stopped as far as his day to day duties. It was possible that Faun needed the fresh air out side the caverns for a change so that he could breath again. Nothing beat the fresh sea breezed air after all. Today he was going from patrol post to patrol post to see how the Chevaliers were fairing. Everything seemed to be in order as each post seemed to have a good set of eyes on the outside world. There seemed to be no looming danger on the horizon at least. Things were normal and right now that was just fine by Faun. The gray lion continued on his patrol with his head cocked high and a confidence in his steps of that of a leader.

A large shadow covered his body as a winged creature landed behind him. It would seem that today this goddess had an agenda, today she was going to make herself known. She was easily overlooked, after all, in her mortal form. She could blend in and hide her true self from the world... but today she was going to make sure everyone knew who she was. Well, maybe not everyone, but this lion was the High Lord, his name and title mattered. If she was going to expose herself to anyone it was going to be him. Her wolf-like eyed narrowed as she stood behind him, standing tall and firm. “My Lord.” Her tone was alluring and playful as she bowed her head to the gray male, her tail flipped back and forth, the flame at the end of it warm and bright, never once dulling. She was a sight to be seen, that was for sure. This wasn’t something she did often but today she wanted to be seen. She wanted to make her intentions known.

A dark shape engulfed him from behind which had Faun quickly pivoting to see what manner of creature would approach him in such a way. His blue eyes settled on a form he was both familiar with and not familiar with at the same time. Jaw was now agape as he was staring at a goddess whom he'd never pegged to be such. There was a moment where the two were just standing there and Faun was not saying a word. "It is always odd when a divine addresses me as such." Was finally what came out. "I'm ... intrigued that you would show me your form. " Faun bowed his head to show respect in the presence of a goddess. He lifted his head again to look in to those wolf like eyes. "I ......" What was there to say? Faun raked his mind but was failing at finding the proper words. "Xiu. Why do you choose to show your form now?"

The Goddess tilted her head to the side slowly, as if to mock his puzzled expression. She didn't loom over him though, so her figure wasn't threatening at all. Something about the way she looked at him would reassure him of her honest intent. She closed her eyes and smiled, speaking to him in a soft voice.
"I wanted to show you me."
As if she couldn't make her motives anymore clear the winged creature moved herself closer to him, lowering her wings to her side. She could glamour herself and hide away if she so wished, but right now she was showing herself to him completely. It was a step toward honesty.
"I have my eyes set on you. So I wanted to make my intentions very clear. I don't have time for mind-games."
She was forward. Very forward.
"So. Here. This is what I am. I would like to see what you are."
Just because she fancied him didn't mean he could live up to her personal expectations, so, she would get to know what he was about and how he was as a leader before deciding on how she truly felt, but for now she had a crush.
One she made sure he knew about.

No time was wasted to get his answer. Faun was pretty sure that there were certain options on the table of the romantic sort. No female had ever so openly put a proposal like this to him. Not that he wasn't attractive; more that most in the pride fell on a shyer side of the spectrum of this particular relations. "I see," His voice was very steady but his heart had started an uptick a bit. "Well... I see you and I have to say that you are quite impressive. " He didn't want to waste too much of a goddesses time as she deserved a swift response. "I would prefer to get to know you more. I believe that is the best way to show you who I am. Given this is your true form I feel there is an awful lot I should get to know out of respect as well," He knelt and bowed his head out of respect to the goddess. "As a mortal.. I can not very well shed my appearance as you can. I am afraid what you see before is all that I am and nothing more. My pride has chosen me as fit to lead them but that is not to say that another couldn't take my place. I am humbled before you." He kept his head bowed.

"Oh, stop bowing. You don't have to do that to impress me, or to honor me." Xiu chimed with a smile, her eyes closing as she sat back, speaking again through welcoming words.
"Kings fall everyday. Rulers rule." It was a fact, one she had learned over many years of life among mortals and gods alike. The world was fickle and time was unforgiving, but the one thing that never changed was power. Power would always have a place in the world. How power was used however fascinated her.
"What you are intrigues me as well, you see." She nodded before opening her eyes again. It was in that moment, in the blink of an eye she was able to transform back into her mortal skin. Within seconds the Goddess had hidden herself from peering eyes, but she left him with the knowledge of her existence. He knew what she was and he alone.
"Please just call me Xiu from now on, Lord." Her words were light and kindhearted. She honestly meant him no harm. She was a creature of habit and she followed her desires like a moth to a flame. Once Xiu Xiu wanted something she would stop at nothing to achieve it.
Little did he know that today she had her sights set on him.

It was curious to Faun'Lome why a goddess may be intrigued with him but he wasn't going to question a divine. In fact, reversely, he was intrigued with her so this type of situation worked out just fine for the pair. They could learn a lot from the other. "I'll agree to that if you agree to call me just Faun," He grinned at her. Clearly, this was a Canadian stand off of the highest caliber. "I promise to keep who you are a secret if that is what you wish. I will admit though," A coy smile crept on to his maw, "I am always so surprised by your godly kind despite knowing of gods since I was a cub. I am finding that what mortals want and what gods want isn't so different." He'd had quite a lot of exposure to gods growing up and it would seem that they really weren't that different. Sure, demi gods had seer abilities pretty commonly but even they were regular lions deep down. "I would love your company Xiu while I finish my rounds around the pride," Faun offered, "But I would warn to maybe put your glamour back on . I don't know who might be lurking around ."

"Deal." She smirked, narrowing her eyes. Xiu stood up and flexed her shoulders back before she spoke again, her tone welcoming.
"I'll gladly join you on your rounds, Faun." It was the first step toward mutual respect, using proper names and stripping away titles. She liked this new trade off. The goddess now cloaked in her mortal flesh nodded her head at his suggestion.
"I'll stay covered. I wouldn't want any extra attention after all." She wasn't sure what he meant by rounds but she was excited to see what all he was going to offer her, in terms of showing himself to her.
'Lead the way." She flirted shamelessly, smiling at him with a wink. Today could be a grand adventure indeed.

"I am glad to have such wonderful company while I do this dull work," He chuckled, "I had no idea a goddess would reveal her self to me." Faun stretched his back out and started padding off towards the next outpost. There weren't many who Faun was too close to. Many knew him, but few KNEW who he was. Faun was still figuring out what kind of a leader he'd end up being. Having some one like Xiu around would likely shed light on just what kind of a lion Faun would grow in to as a leader. And while yes, he was quite modest and proper, Faun made sure to make a small shoulder bump contact with Xiu as he passed her. This was his subtle way of flirting with a tad bit of skin on skin contact. This behavior seemed to surprise him as he walked. It hadn't fully been on purpose but Faun felt right doing it.

Xiu wasn't one to skip around the point, in truth she rather enjoyed being blunt. It left no room for misunderstanding. No room for error. Her wild eyes followed his figure like a cat stalking it's prey as he passed her, smirking at his light touch of skin. He was being bold and she liked that. Fawn was intriguing to put it simply. Xiu Xiu loved curious things and he made her very curious.
"Likewise, I promise you." Her voice was a little lighter in her flirtatious state. She sank back into her mortal skin with ease, hiding herself from everyone but him. It was almost an intimate gesture, one that she gave him freely. She would spend time with him and figure him out for herself.
Who knew where this new friendship would lead.
