Penelope Rey kept an eye on the students of Romano, in part because it was her job, but also because she liked quietly scouting. It was in her nature, watching and working systems to her advantage and it was, after all, the point of the school:
To find adequate recruits for the organization she served...while also serving her own goals.
Now that she and Alrik were Generals, the importance of having a strong team-- a group of devotees beneath her them.
When Lovina approached her about her friend, she'd been reluctant at first and had even thought of reprimanding the girl because it was important to not let much slip when it came to their other identities. Who knew what Izumi might have been involved in? And Penelope didn't know the girl herself but...if she attended Romano's it would at least be a corrupt or die sort of thing, should she turn out to be on the wrong side of things.
If not...then Pen was willing to entertain the idea of the girl being welcomed under her wings.
With that in mind, and some looking into things, Penelope called both girls to the same place she had first summoned Lovina on the night that she had corrupted her, with help. This time...this time she wouldn't need anyone else.stricckenized lmk if i need to change anything

Lovi giggled with her friend as they scampered through the halls. It felt like they spent forever going over how they'd present Izzy to Ms. Rey, but she thought they had their case together pretty good. Her grades were pretty lit, after all. And even though her PE scores weren't the best in the school, Izzy way made up for it for how highly the teachers thought of her. She was always ready and willing to give her all to an assignment and pay attention in the ways that Lovi thought were boring.
And maybe the whole introduction didn't go as well as Lovi hoped, but once she got past the grilling for letting secrets slip? It sounded like Izzy was totally in. And sure enough, today was the day! Lovi felt her heart leap into her chest, pounding as it was, when they reached the right door.
"Okay," she spoke breathlessly to her friend. "This is going to be amazing." Leaning over and clutching her excitement to her stomach, she gave Izzy a broad grin.
Then she whipped around and opened the door for them both. She gave a quick shh, like they were walking into some covert operation, and gave a last glance around to make sure no one was following them. The halls sat dead and empty as summer school days. With a sigh, Lovi tucked inside.
"We're here!" She announced cheerfully. "And nobody followed us. Not even one of the hall monitors." Which was good, because they sucked and always called ahead even when she had a pass.
She slung an arm about her friend's shoulders. "Are you ready?"

Was there a word for a feeling that was equal parts excitement and nerves? There had to be, didn't there? Whatever it was, that was how Izume was feeling as she walked down the hall with one arm looped loosely around one of Lovi's. The past week had been a complete flip from the months that had stretched on before they'd met up under their tree. Not only were they seeing more of each other, it feel like they'd become closer together through the bond of a shared secret and the excitement of whispered plans passing back and forth between them. It was amazing, and if this went the way it was supposed to, then they'd have even more time together, and the thought of that was enough to leave Izume grinning giddily at her friends side as they walked. She let her arm fall back to her side as Lovi turned to get the door for the both of them, and the nerves ramped up again, tying her stomach into knots of excited anxiety. She mimicked Lovi's finger to her lips, eyes darting past the other girl's shoulder and then back again as they slipped inside and Lovi announced their arrival. An arm around her shoulder brought with it a wave of fond warmth, and she curled an arm around her friend's hip. "As ready as I'll ever be, I think." To their lovely school librarian Izume offered an almost shy smile. "Ms. Rey."

There was one thing Penelope particularly liked about the girls she recruited from Romano's; they came in respecting her and they treated her with the same amount of respect she and her brother treated Miss Alkaid with.
They were young, certainly, but those were the best sorts of minds to mold into what she wanted in the end.
"Well done," she praised with a practiced, toothless smile. Hands were held before her, neatly laced while blue eyes shifted from each girl. "Lovina, please lock the door behind you."
It wasn't absolutely necessary, the staff at the school should have been all Nega-inclined but she didn't want a rambunctious student who'd not yet made the transition stumbling upon them.
She preferred her recruitment to go smoothly and neatly, especially after the disaster that had been Kari.
"Hello Izumi, Lovi's told me so much about you." Her hands untangled long enough for her to pluck the folder from the desk she leaned back against. It was opened, carefully angled so neither girl could see the contents but Pen flipped through pages anyway. "Your grades appear to be in better shape than our mutual friend, and your work on projects is excellent but I have a few questions for you before we move forward." The folder was snapped shut and held in her hands before her.
"Lovina explained that this is a very...special program, right? I have high expectations for those that I bring into this and while Lovi was excited and spilled somethings, secrecy from people you're not sure you can trust is important. I also want to know why you want to join us in this."

Lovi didn't want to intrude too much on things she didn't fully understand, so she parted from her friend as soon as Ms. Rey gave the order. Was it an order if she wasn't in her super secret uniform? Probably, since most of the teachers in this school liked to give orders the same way the Negaverse did. And most of them were Negaverse, too, from what Ms. Rey had mentioned before. It wouldn't hurt to be safe and follow through, though.
She reached the door, cracked it for a cursory peek, then locked the deadbolt on the inside. Pretty much only staff could get in here, she figured, unless some student was unlucky enough to get janitorial duties. And if they did, they'd be pretty relieved to find a locked door. That meant do-not-disturb, which meant freedom from another room to do!
Afterward, the redhead returned to where Izzy stood and Ms. Rey faced her. She didn't have much to add to the discussion — Ms. Rey would take care of everything way better than she could — so Lovi tried to make herself useful in other ways.
Like pulling out a chair for Izzy. "Here, you'll wanna sit down for this." She offered her friend a reassuring smile, as if that might keep her from suspecting that the end of this was going to hurt.

The smile lingered on, even grew at the praise as the librarian's attention landed more or less solidly on her. It wasn't something she actively sought after often, but she couldn't deny enjoying being the center of attention from time to time, and now especially. Lovi was with her, and she was going to get to join her friend in something bigger than both of them. More time, more shared secrets. She was excited. It was actually a little bit of a shock to hear her grades were better than her friend's, only because Izume had a terrible track record with homework or projects. Which was one of the main reasons she was standing there now. "Truthfully Ms. Rey, my grades are a large factor in wanting to sign up for this program." She paused long enough to murmur a thanks to Lovi as she brought over a chair, smiling brightly at the redhead. Why am I going to need this? Maybe there was going to be a lot of paperwork involved... "But in addition to the extra credit, it also sounds like a wonderful way to get a headstart after Romano's," she added as she took a seat. "And I'd also really like to spend more time with Loving. I know she's bern very busy doing extra work for you." Her eyes flicked up to the other girl, not entirely sure if she should have added it, but it was too late to take it back now.

Penelope was quiet for a moment, contemplating the answers as they were given. "Grades are something we can work on. We'll work on your ability to complete things in the desired time frame as well," she explained, deciding now was the time to step closer now that Izumi was sitting.
"I'm going to bring you in, because I think Lovina's earned it but if your relationship hinders the progression of both of you rather than helps it, understand that I will take corrective action," Penelope said, making sure that she caught Izumi's eye before she looked at Lovina so that she could understand the gravity of her statement.
There was a pause, Penelope allowing things to settle before she let herself smile without teeth. "Now what you're going to see now is very, very private. Make sure no one who isn't involved in this organization ever sees you do what I'm about to do."
Protecting identities of her own and exposing the other side was key.
It took a breath, a little concentration and instead of Penelope Rey, General Stellerite stood before both girls. "Are you ready?"

Lovi felt put out that inviting her friend into the Negaverse almost caused more trouble than it was worth. That fact was brought even more to her attention when Ms. Rey singled her out in a warning. But how much more careful could she get? She only told her best friend! And, well, her other best friend, but that was only after she found out he was in the Dark Mirror. So she basically didn't tell anybody, and now her friend was joining the Negaverse. So it wasn't like anything was leaked! Lovi chewed her lower lip. So, now that they were warned and everything, they were still allowed to pal around and do the Negaverse thing together, right? The question sat on her mind for a long time, like too much food in her stomach. Greasy food, too.
Lovi waited with bated breath when her general disclaimed her next move. Then, in a blink, she shifted, and Lovi felt her heart leap out of her mouth and straight into the air. Ms. Ray always looked gorgeous after she transformed! And she felt totally jealous of that mint color against the black! Lovi totally got ripped off with only really having the green, which never paired well with her cat toy. Maybe Izzy would get something better?
Maybe Izzy would get something based off of Stellerite's uniform! Wow, wouldn't that be cool? She grinned to herself, her fingers curling around the back of Izzy's chair.
"Okay, so like, just relax. And, um, oh! You can hold my hand if you want!" Lovi extended her arm over her friend's shoulder. Her set of gold-encrusted tooled bangles jingled, and her painted nails were a frosted pink, but she didn't care how the coming circumstances might mess up her manicure. She didn't think she needed to transform for this, but she totally wanted to at the end so she and Izzy would know what each other looked like in uniform. Cuz that's what friends did, right?

Deciding that maintaining proper posture could only help Miss Rey's opinion of her Izume sat up a little straight and crossed her legs at the ankle, nodding along as she listened to the blonde woman. "It won't be a problem, ma'am." There was no way Izzy was going to jeopardize her chance to work with Lovi, not now that they were finally going to get to spend more time together. Falling quiet again, the young lady settled back against the chair, purple gaze lingering on their librarian as she impressed upon her the importance of secrecy, and then suddenly wasn't the librarian anymore. It had eyes widening, lips parting in a small 'o' of surprise as she flicked a look at Lovi only to find she also wasn't herself. At first her brain didn't make the leap despite the obvious psychical similarities, but then the girl spoke reassuringly and offered a hand to hold. A hand Izzy took gratefully, nerves bubbling up again, or maybe something else in the pit of her stomach, but it was difficult to tell just then. She nodded to Miss Rey, or whoever she was now. Lips pressing together in determination. "I'm ready." At least she hoped she was. She didn't know what was about to happen, but she suspected it wasn't going to be as simple as a change of wardrobe. There's no turning back now. She wouldn't have even if she'd had the choice.

Stellerite took her time adjusting her gloves as she watched Lovina step up and offer her hand to her friend, eager to provide the type of support she hadn't had when she'd been inducted. It was interesting to see how the girls interacted with each other.
Outside of when she'd brought Alrik to Miss Alkaid, Stellerite hadn't been in the company of others when she'd brought people into the negaverse.
Of course, she'd needed help then but assuming Izume wasn't a senshi, then she wouldn't need help now. There was a thrill of pleasure that shivered down her spine at the concept that she could now do these sorts of things without relying on anyone else, mostly.
It was a powerful feeling.
"This is going to hurt," she staid, managing to sound sympathetic when she stepped forward, fingertips lightly pressing against the girl's breastbone before she pushed forward, into the space that shouldn't be accessible but was to wrap fingers around the starseed so she could funnel chaos into it.

Chrysie knew what to expect, and she flinched sympathetically when she saw her general's hand go through her friend's chest. It looked weird — even weirder on the outside, she decided, since she couldn't pass it off as some crazy dream — and she could only guess how much Izzy might've been panicking. But what was there to do but give her hand a reassuring squeeze?
"You'll be okay," she muttered. She didn't know what else to do — what else she could do.
Last time it was some orange-haired guy that looked super tired, but this time Stella was doing it herself. Would that make it easier? Smoother? She hoped so.

"This is going to hurt."Izume's hand tightened around Lovi's as purple eyes widened. The other girl had mentioned something about pain, hadn't she? Izzy couldn't quite recall what, and a second or two later the exact comment was pretty much irrelevant as Ms. Rey's fingers sank into her chest. What the ******** might have asked, but she felt the unnatural pressure of that elegant hand closing around something inside her, and she sucked in a breath, teeth gritting at just how wrong this felt before even that thought was swept away in a flood of pain that would have dropped her to her knees if she hadn't already been sitting down.
Her hand convulsed in Lovi's, nails digging into the back of the other girl's as she tried to keep her teeth clenched around the scream that threatened to burst out and only just barely succeeding. It was pain like she'd never felt before, not even when she'd fallen out of the tree in the front yard of her old house and broken her arm. This was an all over burning, a deep, bone piercing ache. It was just awful!
But from pain and sacrifice there was reward. And where a student had sat a moment before an agent sat now, hand still wrapped around Lovina's though her grip had loosened some. She was out of breath, slumped down and pale, but she'd made it through to the other side as a lieutenant.

Stellerite watched as Izume kept her scream down and her smile seemed to broaden briefly when the girl's clothing melted away into a uniform more befitting the negaverse.
There was a touch of pride that swelled within her knowing that both of the girls she'd personally brought over were capable of withholding their displays of agony just enough to impress her.
And she was undeniably pleased that her first solo recruitment had gone so smoothly. The rush of adrenaline and power that came with it was nearly intoxicating and while she felt drained herself, she still did her best to remain upright and hide such details.
Still, her shoulders sagged and she seemed a bit out of breath from the strain and concentration. All she wanted to do was sink back against the table, or maybe into the chair and rest, but she had a front to put up and it took an extraordinary amount of effort but she tried anyway.
"You'll need a name when you're in this form, think of it as a..." she trailed off, struggling to hide the shaky weariness in her voice when she waved a hand, "code name. I think Argelite would be a good one. What do you girls think?"

Chrysie never got to watch someone turn into a Negaverse officer before. She didn't know what it would look like, whether their uniform crept down their arms or if it was more like a flash and then they were an officer, or if it was something even weirder than that. She felt an anxious excitement, like there were pop rocks all over under her skin, while Stellerite initiated the change. What was Izzy going to look like? What would her name be? Would she get a better weapon than a cat toy in a bag?
Her answer came pretty quickly! Izume held on tight enough to hurt, and Chrysie felt sure she was gonna have have nail marks in her hand, but for now, Izzy's form changed into something she wasn't expecting.
"You look sorta Russian!" Chrysoprase gave her a quick hug around the shoulders nonetheless and felt the softness of Izzy's new hat brushing her cheek. That thing had to be way too hot in the summertime! Maybe she and Izzy would have to stick to night patrols at first until the weather cooled off. Being dressed wrong for an occasion super sucked.
But apart from that, she felt proud of her friend for making it through all that horrible pain. She wasn't sure why the Negaverse had to make it so painful. Maybe they just hadn't figured out how to not make it painful? Whatever, that wasn't important now. What was important was that her friend graduated to lieutenant, and now they could hang out and get their quotas and patrol the town like it was theirs! "Congratulations!" She gave another tight squeeze.
And then Stellarite coined a name. It sounded sorta like angel, but not. She didn't know what argelite was, she totally sucked at geography (or was it geology?), so she just nodded along. "It sounds pretty!" And names that ended in -ite sounded sorta otaku, which was cute.
"Should I take her back to the dorms? When I became a lieutenant, I was totally wiped out. Hey Argie, how do you feel?"

"Russian?" She blinked up at the other girl, and lifting her head felt like a huge effort. Everything ached, from the tops of her ears down to the soles of her feet, but already she could feel that pain ebbing away a little at a time. Her fingers flexed on Lovi's hand, and she could feel the stiffness that lingered from how tight she'd been squeezing. "Sorry if I hurt you hand." She hadn't meant to. Glancing back down at herself, she had to concede that she did indeed look like she'd just stepped out of the USSR. She liked the black, the purple accents. It wasn't what she would have picked, had she had the ability to, but it wasn't bad. She looked back up again as her general mentioned needing a name, hands shifting from Lovi's hand to rest lightly on the arm that came in from the side to squeeze her around the shoulders. It left her smiling, cheeks regaining a little color by way of a soft flush, but the woman before them held the majority of her attention. "Argelite is just fine with me." She didn't know enough about minerals or gemstones to know what that particular one looked like, but did it really matter? It was easy to say, easy to remember. It did occur at that moment that she didn't know what to call Lovi, or Ms Ray, when they were in uniform. Lovi's suggestion of going back tot he dorms was a wonderful one, and surely Lovi could fill her in on all the finer details of being a part of the Negaverse, but it'd probably be good to know names, at least. Right? "I don't know what to call you, ma'am," she said softly, then flicked her gaze up to the girl beside her. "Either of you."
