He went to find her, more out of aggravation than anything else.

That, or restlessness. Wolfeite had taken to ranging around the streets at night more so than he already did, feeling a pulsing hunger throbbing just below his breastbone on most days. He was antsy in a way he couldn't explain, snarling and snapping with razor sharp teeth at everything that passed him by, sliding deeper and deeper into the shadows.

The youma half of him was growing stronger. It clawed at his chest, a physical thing, dragged at his breath and choked its way up his throat. Wolfeite could feel it searing all the way through to his fingertips, the urge to tear something, to rip, to burn it all to the ground and eat the ashes wrapping its hands around him and slowly suppressing any other oxygen.

Starseeds. He needed starseeds.

And fighting. And more.

The hunger burned burned.

Tourmaline was a fighter. She would fight him, or if not, she would know where to go. Wolfeite cared extremely little to depend on other people, and he certainly did not depend on Tourmaline to do anything for him, but they did, after all, have an arrangement.

He did not call for her. He roamed around the places he knew she had a liking for and waited, Maledictus growling lowly at his side.

The line of trust between the lupine general and herself was thin, at best. They had made an arrangement some time ago but it was all business with no love at all between them. To say that she liked General Wolfeite would even be a stretch even. There were days where she respected him, the way one might a wild animal capable of tearing something to shreds, but like? No. They butted heads too much for like.... Personality-wise, at least.

What she appreciated about General Wolfeite was that he pressed her buttons in a way that few others were capable of doing. He grated on her nerves, the beast inside of him conflicting directly with whatever monster clawed at her. When she was around him and neither of them were putting on pretty faces for their subordinates she was free to be every bit as vicious as he was. Neither of them had any reason at all to be kind or mix pleasantries and there were days when the age-old fight between cat and dog was what they both needed.

Had she known that he was out hunting with his youma she might have been concerned on any other day. Wild and roaming with his fanged minion, Wolfeite was even more dangerous and there were nights when she might have gone out of her away to avoid them both. Tonight?

Tonight, Tourmaline had a companion of her own. It was her first night bringing Macsen to the surface with her for anything other than simple surveillance. The youma was well behaved and hidden in the shadows, lurking within range had she need of it. She made herself comfortable as she waited, perched in the loft of an abandoned building with enough windows broken out that she could see the city streets below. Watching... Waiting.

He could sense - something.

It was not quite a familiarity. There was something a little rough around the edges about this power signature, something that made it jump and leap and burn, something that made it feel as though it was grating at the edges, so that every sense of it was like a razor's edge.

It was both familiar and hungering. And the one that accompanied it even more so.

He knew that signature. He'd once not known it well enough as it was to figure things out, but now he hardly needed to consider it before he could practically taste it on his tongue. Wolfeite's head snapped up, Maledictus mimicking the movement, her skeletal head whipping to the side, a low growl emanating from her neck. Without the muscle and tissue and skin to cover her skull, the sound rattled ominously in her throat, echoed throughout the dark night.

The building was tall. Wolfeite scanned the top of it, then found what he was looking for within a few seconds, a blurred shadow, a smear of a power signature. He couldn't be exactly certain, but it was enough to go on, enough to reach out, grab ahold of his youma, and teleport.

Wolfeite appeared out of thin air in the darkness somewhere in front of Tourmaline. The shadows were twisting around him, deepening him in the dark; it made it difficult to see him, glowing eyes and the power signature of his own the brightest and most obvious indicators.

"Tourmmmmaaaallliiineeeeee," Wolfeite hissed, a low, hungry sound. "Come out, come out wherever you are..."
