Physical Description: Pyper's bulk of hair seems to make up most of her mass and some of her height: thick, puffy as a cloud, and dyed various blues, it's hard to miss. She has russet skin that she accents with ink that appears metallic gold around her arms and legs, with smaller accents to her eyelids. Her wide, canted eyes are a merry blue. She has a thing for stars and tends to decorate her hair in particular with pins to reflect a night sky. She stands at 5'8" and almost seems undernourished, though her dazzling appearance and complimentary clothes try to hide it.
Personality: Pyper is a star. She's known this since she could talk, and nothing will tell her otherwise. She has the energy of one too, always active in one way or another: playing a game, practicing her craft, snooping on other people before chatting them up, anything will do. Nothing is worse than being bored, and she'll do everything in her power to avoid it; she'll try anything once, even silly or dangerous things. She's a social butterfly who won't hesitate to drop herself on loners, large groups, or even shy lovers in a corner, believing that everyone is a potential friend. Or fan. Or both.
She's a young teenage girl, and boy does she act the part: dramatics, brattyness, emotional swings, and all. When all you've known is your family for most of your life, what else can you do but dive headlong into the new social life that is candidacy? Some may call her a diva, but that's because they're haters. Pyper just knows what she wants and when she wants it. And if she doesn't get it, it's someone else's fault for setting off her short temper. She doesn't ask for much, she swears! Just a nice group of friends, quality food, and attention!
Growing up with older brothers has turned her quite competitive, and she's one to rough house if pushed around. She's a winner, shaffit, and she'll prove it to you so you can shut your mouth. Even if you haven't said a word to her, she's insecure enough to believe that someone has. Pyper is all about external appearances and will lie and cheat if it means getting to the top; she won't feel great after the fact, but she'll reason that it was for the best if it gets her what she thinks she needs. Her headstrong want to look perfect is draining, but beauty is pain after all.

History: Born in a small clan of caravans, Pyper all but had wanderlust bred into her. Her troupe, a mixed bag of failed apprentices, genuinely talented harpers and beastmasters, family friends, and even a few dragons, exposed her to all walks of life as she grew up. The spectacle of a magnificent show became important to her early on, as instilled in her by the ringmaster, and she lived for even the smallest of crowds' applause. But even so, Pyper longed to be more than another side show attraction: she wanted to be a sought after harper, a name known across both continents, an idol among a sea of singers.
At the age of ten, her troupe secretly put together enough funds to send her towards Fort Hold for her name-day, wanting the girl to nurture her musical talents even if it meant being away from the family for a while. Unfortunately, raiders attacked the boat meant to sail her to the northern continent, and she was lucky to get out alive if now markless. Adrift in a minor hold off the coast and fretting to find her way back, she was found by a kind watchwher handler who helped eventually bring her back through his network of contacts. A few months later, Pyper was reunited, scarred, and given into the insulating life that was a music troupe's.
Nonetheless, she never quite gave up on that dream. It had simply changed to add in another element: a companion, a protector, someone to make her solo a duet. A dragon. Never again did she want to feel as helpless as she did during that journey.
Her parents argued against it, naturally. There was the fear of her being in danger and out of their reach again, of course, and why would she want to leave when the troupe was doing even better than before? Zanoma Camp in particular had been kind to them, why not be around their dragons? And after all, a dragon was meant to fight Thread, not sing in a tavern, and surely Pyper wasn't going endanger herself by throwing herself at the silvery menace just for a companion, would she? To add to that, a dragon was far more care than the flits she was used to, and they doubted she was capable of handling the responsibility on top of everything else.
It was that doubt that cemented Pyper's decision to do it anyway. On the surface it was petty, but during her transfer back to the troupe, a dragonrider had mentioned that Theirs sensed some potential--a semblance of hope that a would-be candidate wouldn't throw her life away again. She didn't so much run away as she had an extended goodbye with her brothers and mother while her father was away, leaving a note to keep in contact with flits before taking off with the dragonrider.
