So...the gift that the cat was giving her was indeed the same sort of magic that the Sylveon cosplayer had...and now...she was a superhero too, and honestly? Sailor Tristan couldn't be happier. And honestly? Her own costume was as cute--if not cuter than the other girl’s, so she was happy as a clam as she leapt off of the building she had been standing on, laughing at the sheer joy of feeling…free.
This was wonderful.
There was a sudden feeling of something and Tristan twisted her head around, trying to see what it could be. It felt...well...it felt like something...enough of something to have caught her attention at the very least.
Swiftly, the new senshi took off towards whoever or…whatever the feeling was and to her surprise after turning down another street, she saw a boy. A boy who looked as though he might be in the same boat that she was.
“So! You’re magical too, huh? I didn’t realize that we had boys in the club too! It’s nice to meet you!” Almost hopping with excitement, Tristan closed the gap between the two of them, hand extended. “I’m uh…” Crap. What had her name been again?
“Oh! I’m Sailor Tristan! It’s lovely to meet you...and if you’re not part of the club...uh...then I’m just. Here to protect you or something. Yeah. that’s it.”
But...she was sure that the thing she felt was coming from him.

"Huh---wha?" It wasn't the most graceful of responses, the young man with strawberry blonde hair turning around as he answered the chipper, bright sounding voice addressing him. The voice matched the appearance of the girl with lilac hair, red balls bobbing in her hair with every step she took. Caught off guard, it took the male senshi a moment to collect his thoughts. "I'm Ry-- Servius." He could already hear Julienne's lady-like voice chiding him for almost giving away his most precious of secrets: his identity. It came so naturally, the name he'd been using for two decades, so having to remember that he suddenly had an alter ego was still going to take some getting used to. "Sailor Servius." He hadn't patrolled on his own before and he was starting to regret not trying to call the large Mauvian for another round of her assistance. It was his first time running into someone else who held an aura of power - thank goodness it was a good feeling and not an ominous one like Julienne had warned him was out there. "A c-club? We have a club?" Shoot - had he not been paying attention to his furry Guardian?

No! She had been right after all. Tristan grinned and elbowed the male in the ribs lightly. “Obviously you’re a part of it if you’re a sailor…something. Servius? That’s a cool name. But…don’t you think it’s a club? We have magical powers and all that jazz…and we get to save people.”
The senshi was excited, almost too excited. There was so many things that she wanted to learn now that she was really open to all of this magic stuff.
“I’m not going to lie, I found out about all of this last October when this really cute girl saved me from who knows what. Some sort of monster in the night…I thought it was all some sort of big joke, like we were being filmed for a reality show or something like that…but then…a few weeks ago this cat comes along and says I get to be just like her and welp. Here I am.”
She gestured to her outfit, and tugged the skirt down a little in the front. “I guess it’s a bit much, but I really like it. Have you tried jumping yet? It’s amazing.” Knocking back the bangs that fell in front of her eyes, Tristan grinned. “So…apart from jumping…I suppose I’m still a little lost as to what to…do. The cat mentioned that we had to fight villains but…I’ve never actually seen a villain…have you, Servius? Can I call you Serv? Much less syllables”

"A...A monster?" His awakening, if it could even be called that, had been anticlimactic at best. Sure, it had turned his world upside down but it hadn't cost him anything (aside from a fish filet, actually). There had been no really cute girls, no monsters that went bump in the night. Just him, a bus stop and a chatty cat that had decided to take him under her figurative wing and explain his new role in this strange new world he'd been thrust into. " Jumping?" He hadn't been doing much - walking, mostly. He took the bus to get into the city... should he have jumped? Was that a thing??? "I... I know we're supposed to patrol," He offered, finally finding his voice to say something more than just one to two word answers. "I haven't seen anything either - t-that's fine, by the way - but I... I haven't exactly been looking terribly hard either." Did that make him a bad sailor scout? Feet awkwardly shuffled for a moment as he gave her a sheepish smile. "Have you been patrolling for a while now, Tristan?"

Tristan had to suppress a giggle at this boy’s reactions, and it was getting a little more difficult the more dumbfounded he seemed to look. “How long have you been doing this? You haven’t tested things out even to just…I don’t know…find your own limits? This is my first time patrolling, though I suppose I have the added knowledge of months of questions but…”
She shrugged.
“Everything’s going to end up doing things differently, that’s just how the world works itself out, right? But…since we both seem new…maybe we should stick together? It might be safer to have a buddy…that way there are no blind spots and we can have one another’s backs.”
Her mind was on all of those blockbuster hits with the huge battles, and the two heroes standing back to back, fighting to protect one another and the city at large.
“Ugh. I’m just…really excited for everything, I think. I mean. I tried to figure out how to get this kind of power, and I had been trying to figure things out since Halloween…but I feel like I just…lucked out in finding that cat. I wonder if I was just always in the wrong place this whole time…that sucks if that’s how they pick super heroes though…”
Tristan paused, then looked at the male, making a rather disgruntled face and then laughing again. “Wow. I sure can talk, can’t I?”

Color spread to his face as she called him out on his newness. It was true, he hadn't been out as a senshi for very long - perhaps he should have been... what had she called it? Testing his limits? "I'd like that. Buddies. Sort of like the buddy system at school, yeah?" Well, that was one way to be dorky about it. He probably hadn't used the buddy system since elementary school but he pretended to remain indifferent as he bit the inside of his cheek, embarrassed that he'd made such a silly analogy. He was in college for goodness's sake! She prattled on, which was relieving in its own way because the more she talked, the less he would be forced to. Filling in the quiet wasn't hard to do when it was about things he knew... but this senshi stuff still left him in the dark. "Nothing wrong with talking," he assured her, offering a half-shrug as he glanced up to one of the nearby buildings. She'd said they could jump... but how far did those jumps work? "So... jumping. Could you... y'know, make it up there?" One hand pointed upwards toward the rooftop. ( Was it a ridiculous question to be asking???)

Tristan blinked, then gave a little giggle, nodding. “Yeah, something like that, I guess!” She had been trying not to come off as rude but. But he was kind of really precious. All innocent and sweet. It wasn’t something she was used to in a world full of sarcasm and jerks. But…she would take what she could get.
The senshi glanced at the building he was pointing to and made a shooing motion with her hand. Scoffing she nodded. “Oh that? Of course. I can get up there easily.”
Taking a few steps backwards, Tristan grinned, the light of excitement once again rekindling in her bright eyes. “Watch me, Servius, then I do expect you to join me up there. Besides. We can see more of the city that way and make sure that nothing bad is happening.” She took off, jumping after a small running start, and landed…well. Not gracefully…but she landed on top of the building and quickly went to peer over the side down at her new friend. “Come on up. The air’s great.”

Eyes widened as he watched her in awe. She made it look so easy, confidently running up and jumping up onto the building, treating it like any normal person would the next step in a staircase. What. The. Heck!!!He swallowed hard as he looked up, soon seeing the other senshi waving him up and beckoning him to follow suit. He hadn't.... he hadn't actually tried anything like that before. Julienne had mentioned training in passing but he hadn't.... His head offered a small, nervous nod as the tall boy backed up on the sidewalk. It felt ridiculous and downright insane but heck, he was a magical superhero and it made sense in this nonsensical situation for him to be able to do crazy stunts like the superheroes did in the movies, right? Right??? Counting down in his head, feet took off on the concrete as his brain uttered a silent one to finish the numbers. He could feel his heart thumping in his chest every time his foot hit the pavement and the senshi sucked in one long breath as knees bent down and prepared for the spring. Up, up, up he went towards the building and if Servius hadn't been watching for himself, he almost wouldn't have believed it. His own landing was far from graceful as well, feet hitting the edge of the roof, only to have him lose his balance and go teetering back and forth. A worried gasp and a lurch forward had him tumbling down towards the safety of the roof's flat surface, the young man both embarrassed and relieved to find proper grounding once again. "T-That... That was incredible."

Tristan grinned, watching the other senshi with a very satisfied expression. “I know right!” She laughed. “I mean, like I said, I’m still super new at all of this, but…we have magic Servius! We have to see all that we can do, we’re…super heroes and I just…”
She laughed, eyeing the edge of the building. “I can’t believe you never tried jumping before…but…” Scratching her nose lightly, Tristan shrugged. “I suppose I got a little taste of things when I met the other one, she was jumping around and saved me from some…something.”
The senshi glanced back at the male and grinned. “But…now you’ve started to see what you can do, so I hope this means you’ll practice more and…Oh!” She drew out her senshi phone, looking at it stupidly for a moment. “I can…get your information in this. I think. But…Oh my god I’m so bad with phones sometimes. If it’s not an iPhone, I’m an idiot.”
She laughed and began frantically poking at the screen, hoping to get to an area where she could snap a photo. “…But if I can just…then I can contact you and we can be patrol buddies…”

For as embarrassing as it was to admit that he hadn't actually experimented with his abilities, he was able to take the teasing in stride. After all, it wasn't every day that one was given magical powers... or introduced to others who shared in some of those abilities. Sure, her outfit looked different than his (at least he got to wear pants, thank God) but she was still a senshi and he was a senshi so that had to mean something, right? When she brought out her phone and made her excuse at being terrible at it, he couldn't help but grin. "Here, let me help.." One hand held itself out in offering as the other moved to withdraw his own that the guardian cat had provided for him. "I was playing with it earlier, I think I may know how to do it." At least he could redeem himself with troubleshooting their new senshi technology... right??

Tristan pursed her lips and then laughed softly, holding her phone out to him and shrugging. “Well, okay so you might have me beat on that side of things, but…that just means we make a good team, right?” She hoped so. She wanted someone to patrol with. If she ever really did meet up with something or someone awful…she didn’t really want to deal with it alone.
Not like the girl in pink had to with that…that whatever monster.
“So, if you can figure out how to get us into our phones…that means that we can do our best and possibly keep one another out of trouble…because…I know it’s there. I just haven’t met it yet, and I’m honestly a little afraid to.”
She held her hand out and put her phone lightly in his palm. “I’m not sure why they didn’t just give us iPhones. They’re so much easier to deal with, you know? Magical androids aren’t my forte, so show me what you’re doing, Serv, okay?”

He accepted her phone and pushed a few buttons, grinning up at her from time to time as she spoke. He was grateful that he could at least contribute something to their mutual knowledge bank... even if it was something as simple as figuring out a high-tech cell phone. "Right. I'm not a fan of trouble myself, so I'm thinking two heads are better than one when it comes to trying to knock it out." A few more punches and he was at the screen for the camera. Shifting, he punched in the same buttons to his own phone, dragging up the matching screen as she complained about the device. "It's not that bad, you've just got to make sure to head to this section and hit this app - looks a little screwy compared to a normal phone but I know you'll get the hang of it." Serv. It took him a moment to realize she'd given him a nickname. He'd gone by Ryan for two decades of his life so it went without saying that he was going to have to learn - quickly - to catch on to his new name. But the fact he'd already earned himself a nickname was a pretty cool thing... right? Unable to suppress his grin, he lifted the phone up and focused the screen on the senshi standing across from him. "Okay - say cheese!" .... that was still a semi-cool thing to say, right? Right?

Tristen watched, amused and tried to commit the app he had clicked on to memory. Hopefully the phone would let her go in and change the names for things, right? Phones could do that…maybe. She could at least take some time to figure things out herself. Poke around a little bit.
…Even if she broke it…well. It wasn’t something that she really needed, right? After all she had her real phone and…she could just use that.
She paused at his words, then made the derpiest face she could when he told her to say cheese. There was no way she was going to be immortalized in the phone with a simple smile on her face. How boring would that be? “I can do chedder than that, Serv! Don’t be silly.”
She took her phone back from him and in a fit of excitement, managed to exit out of whatever app he had opened and sighed heavily. “Well. Heck.”
Though, she should know what to do, and with a few button pushes, she managed to open up a contact list that she hadn’t even known was there and held the phone up to her new friend too. “You say cheese now. Your favorite one, don’t hold back on me.”

The young man couldn't help but laugh as she made a face, completely unprepared for her to do anything but present the standard smile-for-the-camera pose. It was nice to be surprised... heck, it was nice just to have a friend in this crazy new world he'd been tossed into. Her words took a moment to register in his head, an eyebrow rising as he wrinkled his nose at her pun. "Really? That's so cheesy." .... granted, not the best comeback, pun wise, but it was there and he took advantage of it. He watched with curiosity as she fiddled with her phone, tinkering with the buttons he'd just shown her how to use. He was proud of her, she managed to reopen the app without too much trouble, only to--- "Uhhh... American?" His smile turned into more of a wince, thanks to Servius trying to wrap his brain around the question at the same time as the pose. Derp. Leave it to him to mess up something so simple --- he couldn't help but laugh, knowing the picture had to have turned out something awful. "I demand a redo! Redo!"

She snapped the picture when his face was frozen in the ‘mer’ part of the word and when she took a look at the newly formed contact in her phone and utterly guffawed. “Oh…oh my God, Serv. You look like such a dork! I love this. What a strange choice of cheese though. Seriously? American is your favorite? White or Yellow?”
Tristan held her phone out so he could see his derp face and shook her head vehemently at his demanding a redo. “There are no take backs~ And I will only really accept your favorite cheese if you say that you choose white, and you like it best between two slices of provolone on a grilled cheese. Because that, my friend is the perfect grilled cheese. You get the melty American and the super stretchy provolone and…then you’re just.”
She shrugged, putting her phone away after pressing a few other buttons and completely losing the contact list that had been created.
Oh well, she would find it later.
“You’re just perfect with that sandwich.”
Quietly she looked back up at the boy, smiling contentedly. “So…we should do this again. I think it would be helpful to do this again. We’re…well. We kind of suck, honestly. And I know that we obviously have the plan to do this again, but let’s set a date? How about…” She thought about what day it was and shrugged. “Tuesdays? If we make a plan and stick to it…obviously we’ll grow and whatnot, right?”
That was how you learned other things…so why wouldn’t the theory work for being a super hero too?
