Name: Kelvari
Age: 17
Sex: Female
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Weyr: Western Weyr
Rider Rank: Wingrider
Previous Rank/Craft: N/A

Physical Description:
Strong for her age, Kelvari has worked hard to foster the impression that she is not just some weak girl-child. Though possessing a round cherubic face and big blue eyes, her features are often turned into a dismissive scowl or outright mischievous grin. She's the type to wear her emotions on her sleeve, and really couldn't care less. She likes to know where she stands with people, and wrongfully assumes everyone wants to know where they stand with her.

She has long, light chestnut hair, which she keeps neatly braided in varying styles depending on what she's doing for the day. Her clothing choice is negligible, as she wears what has been passed down and fits well enough to be modest. 'Taylor made' is a foreign word, as even her sandals are hand-me-downs.

Personality:
Blunt, bright, and bold; Kelvari thrives on social interaction and finds herself impossibly bored when no one is around. She doesn't make friends easily, given how bluntly she points out certain things, but she does know a lot of people in the Weyr and depends on those connections. Time will tell how she'll mature, but thus far none of the adults in her life seem worried, so she is mostly allowed to carry on as is. Those who have thick skin and manage to befriend her will find a valuable comrade. Kel loves with all of her heart, and she is very giving of this passion to her family and friends. Her father, especially, receives a rather large dose of this love when he makes time to go down to the mess hall and have dinner with Kelvari once a sevenday. Kel never fails to brighten his day with her cheeky comments, even if she refers to him as 'baldy' from time to time, and he'll occasionally go to bat for her against the working women of the Weyr when those comments come back to bite her. (Not that he has a whole lot of say, but he does what he can.)

When it comes to her duties, she is punctual and efficient. She'd definitely rather be out playing, but the idea of responsibility and duty have been firmly pounded into her young head by her father and the women who raised her (probably as a counter measure to her general cheekiness.) She has a healthy fear of the head honchos of the Weyr, but her father's influence has led to her being a bit spoiled when it comes to the other adults of the Weyr. Still, she's not afraid to speak her mind, and is often reprimanded for it to little affect.

Overall, she is a young passionate kid. Like anyone, she has her up and her down moments, but life hasn't tempered her enthusiasm and ground that raw emotion down, and nor will it. She loves life and is one of those bewildering 'morning people' who rise with the sun in order to go for a run before the chores start.

Positive Trait List Bold, out-going, cheerful
Negative Trait List Blunt, reckless, mischevious
History:
Sassy weyrbrat with a capital 'S' ! Has a good relationship with her dragonriding father, though she has no wish to get to know her mother. Definite daddy's girl, her only source of social discipline are the working women of the Weyr who had the rearing of her. (Barring the occasional lecture of duty to the Weyr she receives from her father.) She hasn't had anything terribly interesting happen to her as a child, but she considers her life to be one big interesting tale... so don't tell her that! She loves growing up in the Weyr, and tends to look at newcomers with a bit of disdain. Like most weyrbrats, she's grown up with the assumption that she will stand for a clutch eventually.. and tends to take it for granted. Outside candidates are generally regarded with suspicion, as she sees them as intruders.

She has helped her father and his friends scrub their dragons often, so she has a fairly decent working knowledge of dragon-lore. Her father's brown, while getting a bit long in the tooth like her father, doesn't appear to dislike her company though she is mindful not to be disrespectful.

Since impressing a brown dragon herself, she is completely dedicated to her craft of fighting Thread. It hasn't really dawned on her that there are parts of the world who will look down on her for bonding with Sakkath.

Other:
- She runs every morning and usually tries to take on as many 'boy' jobs as she can. Is on par with a boy her age when it comes to strength and stamina, so she has very little trouble keeping up.

- HATES lightning.

- Growing up in the Weyr means a lot of topics are not taboo for a young girl to know, and her dad's friends thought it was funny when she was young to teach her all sorts of dirty jokes. She hasn't forgotten them, and they regret teaching her now since she uses those same jokes to embarrass them in their retirement.

- Falls asleep like clockwork at around 9pm. It is pretty much impossible to keep her up past her bedtime. Has caused some serious problems for her in the past when she was assigned night duties.

DRAGON
Name: Sakkath
Age: 3
Color: Brown
Size: 40.5'

Physical Description:
Sakkath has no idea he's supposed to be a brown. He's big, he flies just as well as any of the medium sized bronzes, and shardit, BRING IT! He's a silvery-sort of brown with stunning stripes and muted bands running down his wings. Overall, he's built to last and tends to sail through the air like he was floating on water.

Personality:
An unpredictable dragon with a trickster’s intent, Sakath likes to foster the illusion of a droll sort of indolence. He’s highly motivated when he puts his mind to it, but he can be exceptionally difficult to get going when he isn’t on the same page as his rider, especially if he thinks he has a better idea! Sakath is very stubborn, and it will take a lot of willpower on his rider’s part to keep him in line. All told, he would be a prime example of ‘you can lead a horse to water, but can’t make him drink.’ He also has the tendency to over exaggerate things, especially anything involving his prowess, and flatly refuses to give in to authority figures unless forced into it by his rider. Sakath loves socializing, absolutely adores it. He’s charismatic, flashy, the life of the party, provided you don’t look too deeply. He’s more concerned with telling people what they want to hear rather than being honest since you’re better able to get what you want that way. And people are more inclined to listen if you’re speaking things they already want to hear anyway. He’s occasionally deliberately misleading and manipulative, thriving on social interaction as much as he needs the spotlight. Yes, you read right – he needs the spotlight. As a brown, he’s aware that he’ll never get the same natural adoration of a bronze, but he’ll be damned if he doesn’t make something of himself and His. And to do that, he’s going to use every ounce of charisma and savvy to do his duty. Too bad he’s not really all that genuine in those sugary compliments and interested expressions.

He also has extremely high expectations of the Queen dragons and their bronze consorts, but is surprisingly relaxed towards the other colors. His natural assertiveness will likely rub a few the wrong way, but he won’t ever go out of his way to impress his will on anyone like he perceives the bronze and gold dragons do. Has been known to flirt with green dragons, but doesn’t take it beyond some mutual flattery.

In freetime, Sakath can be the laziest, most oblivious beach-bum in the history of Pern. It’s free time! And that means no obligations, no socials, no posturing or preening. What it does mean, however, is a chance for him to simply just… snooze in the sun and if you have a problem with that, go throw yourself off a cliff. There’s nothing that puts this dragon in a better mood then sunbathing. Nothing. He’s always active and alert afterwards and his hide is usually gleaming like a mirror from the sun soaking. Sakath can be quite the sight sunbathing, actually, as he’s quite long for a brown – not bulky, but long and wiry with trim wings.

As a youngster, he will be impetuous and a bit of a wild card when it comes to his behavior, but he will soon grow out of that given careful discipline by his rider and the Weyrlingmaster. Once he reaches adulthood, Sakath's eccentricity will mostly manifest itself through socializing with other dragons, and by occasionally trying to assert himself amongst his wing. Kelvari will have to work hard to keep him in check, but she will also appreciate his natural dominant streak. She's a cheeky brat herself, and will probably teach a young Sakath all sorts of dirty jokes and sneaky pranks before it dawns on her that such things will work against them both in the long run. As a pair, maturity will bring about a great many changes, especially for Kelvari, but they should emerge as an competent and forward-thinking pair.
