Solo word minimum is 500, RP post minimum is 7 The swampy waters of elehun seemed to be full of life lately. The warm summer weather had brought out all sorts of critters to play, and it wasn’t just those on land that were making their appearance. A family of enhudra could be seen flitting and diving around the village and seemed to take a particular interest in a single menehune. Their scaled bodies would glint and flicker in the lights coming from the sky above the waters as the three of them swirled and poked at the unfortunate kahikinan.

Kaimi had gone out early so that he could get to work trying to dig for crystals in the mud around the area he lived in. There were a lot of places that he hadn't gone digging yet which meant that there were plenty of crystals that were still waiting for him. He just had to put in the effort and he would have more to add to his hidden stash, a stash that was meant to aid him when it came to him leaving home so he could strike out on his own.
That was the plan... until he got to where he was going to be digging and found the area occupied instead by a group of enhudra that were swimming around chasing fish. He blinked a couple times before allowing himself to settle down on a sunken log, watching as the group of creatures swam around in front of him. They were fast, fast enough that Kaimi felt that he'd never be able to keep up with even the slowest one of them. They seemed to glint like jewels when the light coming through the water bounced off their scales as well, something that made Kaimi that much more fond of them.
"You guys are really cute." He told one of them as it came to tread water in front of him for a moment before it went off chasing after a fish that it wanted to make a snake out of. Just the fact that one had come close enough that he could almost touch it was enough to put him in a grand mood. What an adorable creature! The way that they moved, the way they played, the way that they made catching fish seem effortless. They really were grand. How he'd love to have such a creature as a pet. Not that he could exactly have one right now. His brother really wasn't the sort that he'd trust with a pet... he'd probably just see a pet as a source of food if anything.
Kaimi's nose wrinkled just a bit at that thought. One couldn't trust his brother with something as cute as the enhudra were so there was no chance that he'd let him know about them playing around here. He wouldn't ever thinking of the idea of getting a pet either, even if it was something as simple as a pet fish. His brother wasn't the sort that would look at something and see it as something that he wanted to take care of. instead he looked at things and tried to figure out how he could use them for his own good. Kaimi was treated in the same manner, often used by his brother as the older male was always trying to skim some of Kaimi's crystals off him. He'd let Kaimi do the work then try to make money off his hard work. He'd never let him do the same to a pet.
Shifting the way that he was sitting so he was more comfortable on the sunken log he decided that he'd watch the enhudra for a while. He'd enjoy their playful antics and their skillful hunting techniques until they moved on. After that he'd get to work digging. For now though this was a change of pace that the normally serious Kaimi found he quite liked. He'd just have to work harder later to make up for a few moment's of slacking.
