Claude
Claude tapped irritably on the table, rhythmically in threes. They were there. On time. Well---Five minutes early. Like usual. But that meant he was on exact time. And as his watch clicked to 3 PM he couldn't help but wonder----
Where was this kirin at?! The shade's patience was running supremely thin. Time was precious. Didn't the other understand that? Why weren't they there right now? Steam was still coming from the tea pot that he had ever so graciously bought for them both but it wasn't going to be long until that smoke started to dissipate and the tea became cold. It was at the perfect temperature now.
So where was Soleil? Maybe it would be best if they left...Find another individual to imbue with. His protege were to be of the best blood, after all.

Soleil
Soleil didn't realize that they were a minute late when they walked in the door. Checking the time was only for people who had busy lives. Soliel? They didn't have it hustling and bustling every day. His night job did keep his body constantly moving, constantly thinking but during the day there was nothing to do. They had no responsibilities. And they liked it that way.
They only slightly regretted walking in when they were met with the scowl on Claude's face. What had their panties all in a bunch? It wasn't like they were late. Even if they were....it was close enough to the time. Right? Soleil's eyes darted over to the clock. Yeah. It was only 3:01.
"Hey, how's it going?" they gave a half hearted wave before pulling out a chair for themselves and scooching themselves in. They eyed the male. Those eyes were....attractive. Soleil stared into them, entranced. No wonder they were a model. "You look a lot more attractive here, than what was in your beautiful pictures. I didn't even think that was a possibility." The kirin smirked, propping one of their elbows on the table and resting their chin in their hand. Laying it on thick was what Soleil was good at. And the more Soleil stared at the shade...the more they had to admit that it was true.
So weird. The shade usually wasn't his type.

Claude
"You're late." Claude casually picked up the kettle and poured himself a cup three fourths of the way full exactly. Just like how it should always be. Before stirring and looking up at Soleil with a level gaze, nose just above the cup. No excuses were going to save the poor soul from wasting his time. "The tea was getting cold."
The shade tried not to smile at the compliment, taking a small sip before resting the cup back down gentle. There was barely even a sound when it was placed. "Of course. I'm a model after all." It would be rude not to compliment them on his appearance. "We aren't here to talk about my attractiveness, now, are we? We're here to talk about stones." Cut the small talk. Get right to the point. They had a photoshoot to prep for and another possible donor to talk to if this one didn't work out. Claude's life was too busy for small talk. "They're going to be living with me but when it's convenient, you can take them as well as visit." The shade clasped their claws together their mismatched gaze falling on the gentle glacial one that was staring back at him. There could be no other way. He couldn't trust someone else to raise their protege.

Soleil
A loud laugh came over Soleil, seeming to ricocheting off the walls. They couldn't help it. Late?! This shade was something else "Yeah, sorry." The kirin moved the hair that had fallen in front of his face behind them, cocking their head to the side. It had only been a minute late. "You're a real stickler for timliness aren't you?" What a p***k. If they had kids they were going to be serious and dignified, Soleil could already tell. A smile curled up on the edges of the kirin's lips. Well, not completely. Not when he was able to visit.
At least they wouldn't wind up like they did---homeless and uneducated. With Claude they'd at least have a shot at doing some good in the world. "That's fine." They had plenty of time to give during the day. It wasn't like they had a rigid schedule anyway. "I don't want them living with me anyway. " When it's convenient. Heh. "Good thing most times are convenient." They flashed the shade a grin.

Claude
Claude's eyebrow twitched. Stickler? "Of course. Time is too valuable to put a price on. The tea was at the right temperature when it was given to me. You arriving late has already cooled it a few degrees" If only someone rich and good looking answered his requests for an imbue. Soleil was not his first choice. It was just the only one who had a bite. He couldn't understand why others didn't respond. It wasn't like they were a monster. Ridiculous. But, at least they would only need good looks and a parent who was only there when they needed them. Couldn't have Soleil interfering with their freshling's training, after all.
Their shoulder's relaxed, relieved. His conditions were fair. They were the one that was going to provide for the children. His demands were more than alright. Soleil should be thankful for letting them have visitation rights. An open schedule was ideal. "Good." They crooked their fingers in a come hither motion. "Let me see your hand."

Soleil
Time was valuable? Soleil gave a sultry grin. "For someone as popular and busy as you? Yeah. For me?" They gave a one armed shrug while leaning back in their chair. "It's more expensable. My life is filled with fun. No work. Work makes Soleil a sad boy." They plopped the seat back down with a dull thud. There was a reason they dropped out of community college. Why they bothered not to go back into fast food. Why they didn't even bother to look into stripping. Work was grinding, repetitive. Wasn't for them. "Freshlings and infants aren't work." There was always something new to learn, new to handle. Soleil was excited at the prospect of even playing with an infant. Every day was going to be a new adventure. Soleil could hardly wait.
They gave an apologetic smile. "The tea's still good right?" It, at least, looked hot enough. Soleil wasn't much of a tea person to really say.
Obediently, they held their arm out, palm up and flat. One of Soleil's brows quirked up in question. Just what was the shade getting at? Why did they need to look at their hand? Claude really was a weird one. But hey, as long as they got a little one to play with and take care of every now and then, they'd do it.

Claude
"Mmmhmm." Claude's gaze narrowed before he relaxed in his seat. It was true that his surge in popularity gave them little time to themselves. With photoshoots, interviews, and keeping up with his comments and social media sites; it didn't allow much time to relax and go out without it being for some sort of social connection or publicity event. Having progeny of their own was going to make them even busier as they tried to train them in modeling. The woes of being famous. Someone who had expendable time would be beneficial for any of his stones. "Then I expect you'll be performing your duty as a parent and picking them up whenever I ask."
Claude looked down at their hands then, one of their hands sporting multi colored claws coming out to hold the other individual's hand. Their gaze narrowed. Was that a speck? They lifted the slender hand closer to their face to peer at it, their claw scratching at the surface. No. A birthmark. What an odd place for a birthmark. The rest seemed clean. "You'll do." They said with finality, patting Soleil's hand. Usually, they wouldn't touch someone so common. But since they were getting stones together---well. It would be weird if he repulsed to their touch, wouldn't it? At least they were clean.

Soleil
"Yep! I wouldn't have it any other way." Soleil beamed at Claude, flashing their teeth. Let someone else take the main responsibilities. Soleil was happy being the parent who was more fun and lax on rules. The less responsibility, the better. It wasn't like Claude was going to be there watching them play with their kids anyway. What could possibly go wrong?
Even if Claude was a weirdo and liked grabbing their hand to..look at it? Analyze it? What, was Claude reading their palm to see if their future aligned? Soleil didn't mind, but it was a bit awkward. The kirin nearly laughed as their hand was scratched. Man, did that tickle.
But the light feeling was worth it. Claude had said that they'd do! "Great!" The smile that Soleil sported made their eyes partially close. Oh man, they could barely believe that this was happening! "Should we go...get some stones then?"

Claude
Good. That was what he expected from Soleil. Their eyes warmed as they stared at the kirin. Soon, they wouldn't have to worry about their knowledge going to waste. Soon, they'd have a protege that would follow in their footsteps. Someone that hopefully looked just as good as they did. It was impossible to look better than them, after all. Only a fool would think that they were better than them.
Soleil may seem like a mooch and a fool, but they weren't that bad.
Claude looked at the clock upon the wall. 3:20. The tea in the kettle was no longer emitting steam. The same went for their cup. What a waste. They wouldn't be able to finish it with the temperature that it was at. Too cold. Their mismatched gaze went back to Soleil. "Yes. Of course." Normally the shade would hate to do anything that anyone suggested. This time, though. He had to admit. It was a good idea. "Best not to waste time, let's go." They wiped at their mouth with a napkin that was on the table and stood up proud. Their tail looked sourly at Soleil but dutifully stuck to Claude's hip as the shade got up, going to the exit. "You coming?"

Soleil
Soleil could hardly believe it was happening. They hurriedly got up from their seat, not even bothering in pushing it back in. "You bet I am!" They looked towards the door...and found that it was closing. Claude was already heading out without bothering to wait. Soleil chuckled to themselves. Claude was such an interesting nightmare.
Whomever came out of those stones were obviously going to be a blast.
