Jadyn was in deep s**t and trying not to visibly freak out. He had somehow lost his henshin pen and was trying to look for it without alerting Zakuro that anything was wrong. Well, not seriously wrong anyway. Even if it was.
He was ********. He had been sure he'd put it in his jacket pocket when he'd transformed back after patrol the day before. Shoving his hands in his already messy red hair, Jadyn tried to remember what had happened after that. He had made his way back to his bike to come home, but some kid had ridden his bicycle right through a mud puddle in front of Jadyn and gotten mud all over-
Oh, s**t. He'd thrown everything in the laundry when he'd gotten home, irritated by the little brat who'd gotten mud all over his favorite jacket. "Babe?" he called, heading out of the bedroom and toward the laundry nook of their apartment. "Zak, have you started the wash yet? I think I left something in my jacket." His heart was racing and he hoped that it wasn't written all over his face how freaked out he was about this.

Zakuro sighed to herself, sorting the laundry. Honestly, how could just two people go through so much clothing? Jadyn was nearly as bad as she was, though he would throw clothes everywhere and anywhere instead of in the laundry basket. She paused, however, when she saw a muddy jacket on the hamper. He never put things where they belonged without some nagging.
Picking up the jacket seemed to dislodge something from the pocket, a shiny item falling to the floor making the brunette pause and arch a brow. Was that...? No, that couldn't be. But there it was. On the floor was a henshin pen and there was no way to ignore it. Was Jadyn a senshi? No, that couldn't be. ....could it?
Jadyn's voice broke her out of her train of thought and she gingerly picked up the pen, examining it briefly before looking up. "No, not yet. Just about to. Will you come here a moment?" She looked up as he walked into the room. "Jade.....is this yours?" She held the pen carefully, giving him an uncertain look. Her heart thumped against her ribs hard, feeling worry and uncertainty.

He stepped into the laundry room, one hand ruffling the back of his hair in what he hoped didn't look like a nervous gesture. All movement stopped when he spotted his pen in her hands. s**t. "Ah, yeah, that's what I was looking for, actually," he said and cleared his throat, coming a step closer and holding his hand out for it.
He sincerely hoped she did not ask him what it was or why it was so important that it not be run through the washer. The red head was a terrible liar to begin with and he hated lying to Zakuro. She just meant so much to him, he didn't ever want to be dishonest with her. And yet he'd kept a rather large secret from her for a while now. He'd always tried to rationalize it, telling himself he kept it from her to keep her safe. He would do anything to keep her safe.

She felt something sink into the pit of her stomach when the pen was confirmed to be his. Something akin to unease and worry knotted and twisted in her gut, her fingers curling around the pen tighter. "Jadyn...." She took a deep breath before handing the pen over, muttering something in Japanese.
"So you're one too then...." Slowly, she reached into her back pocket and produced a pen of her own, holding it up for him to see. She seemed almost upset, rather than relieved. "A senshi I mean... how long?"

He really needed to learn more Japanese. He frowned slightly as he took his pen back, looking confused. Her next words made him freeze. "I....you... What?" His heart leaped to his throat and nearly cut off his breath as her words sank in. Too? Zakuro was a senshi. A small part of him was relieved. She knew now, and he didn't have to keep it secret from her anymore.
But the larger part of him now had something entirely new to freak out about. His girlfriend, the woman he was madly in love with, was a senshi just like he was. Fighting youma and other senshi and negaverse agents. Putting herself in danger every day.
Just like he did. ********. "A little while now," he said though it wasn't really an answer. He stared at her pen, turquoise eyes wide as he tried to get a handle on his breathing. "What about you?"

For once, both of them were completely sober. "A while too. I....Jadyn.....tell me you're not being stupid or reckless?" Caramel eyes searched his face. She knew he could be even more impulsive than she was at times and he was far more reckless.
"I'm Ako. Firestorms." She felt almost like it was a dream. A really, really bad dream that she needed to wake up from right about now. "Just....this is so messed up...." She shook her head and shoved her pen in her pocket, then ran a hand over her face. "I didn't want you to get wrapped up in this...it's not like a comic book or some video game..." It was almost odd for her to speak so seriously.

"I'm not, I promise," he said and stepped a little closer. God, this was just so bizarre. If anyone had told him two years ago that he'd be fighting evil and occasionally talking to cats, he'd have looked at them like they were completely insane and/or high on mushrooms or some other hallucinogenic. He did try not to be stupid and reckless, always keeping her in the back of his mind. He'd been lucky so far.
"I, uh... I'm Sarin. Panic." Ironic, considering he felt like he was about to have a panic attack. He huffed a soft laugh. "Yeah, no, I definitely know that this is not a comic or a game... And I didn't want you to get wrapped up in it either. Guess we both got bit in the a** on that one." He hadn't meant to be so crass, but he tended to word vomit when he was nervous.
Shoving his pen in the pocket of his jeans he flexed his fingers, a jittery movement he wasn't even entirely aware of. He knew she was upset and every part of him wanted to soothe and comfort her, but he was the problem or at least part of it. He couldn't tell if she was upset at him in particular or at the situation in general. All he wanted to do was to take her in his arms and promise that everything would be alright.
But he couldn't promise her that and have any hope of keeping it, not with both of them being senshi.

Zakuro nodded, swallowing thickly. "Yeah....definitely bit in the a**..." Her mind was spinning. The fact he had been a senshi this whole time and she didn't even know any the wiser baffled her. But then again, he seemed to be completely unaware of her until now as well.
"Sarin..." She seemed to almost be trying out the word, playing with the feel of it. "Well, I can't say I'm...overly thrilled at both of us being in this but...nothing we can do, right?" She gave him a small smile. "Maybe....maybe we could work together then....if that's good with you?" She wasn't often shy with Jadyn, usually quite to the point and brash about things. He was the one person she felt completely allowed to be herself with. But now, her confidence was wavering. Would he even want her to patrol and fight along side him? What if he already had a team he was with? Or worse....what if he was an enemy? She shook the thought from her head, refusing to even entertain it. Jadyn was a good man. There would be no way he could ever possibly be the enemy.

Something in his chest relaxed at her suggestion that they work together and he felt like he could breathe a little easier. "Yeah," he said and nodded. "Yeah, that would be great." he smiled at her then, a tentative quirk of his lips. She was never like this, not with him.
He held a hand out to her and gave her a small smile, wanting to pull her against him but needing to know she would be okay with it. Honestly, he felt like a weight had been lifted from his shoulders. Part of one, at least. He didnt have anymore secrets from her, and if they fought and patrolled together he would at least be able to try and keep her safe. Though she was headstrong sometimes and likely wouldn't appreciate that line of his thinking.
But they couldn't be together every minute of every day, and anything could happen when they were apart. He would just have to try not to think about that and trust that she knew what she was doing. Which clearly she had some idea since he'd had no idea that she was a senshi this whole time.

Zakuro took the offered hand and smiled slightly at him. She still felt uneasy, but it was mostly about the fact her idiot boyfriend had been fighting things alone. "Good...because if you thought for one minute that you were going to do this alone, you're even more stupid than I initially thought." She smiled a bit more, teasing him in their familiar way.
"I wasn't quite sure what to think when that fell out of your jacket...for a moment I just sort of froze. I never thought you would be a senshi." She paused and frowned. "That came out wrong. You know what I mean though right?"

When she took his hand, Jadyn tugged her closer and wrapped his arms around her. "Ha, ha," he snorted at her teasing. It might seem strange to some people, but when she teased him like that he knew things would be just fine.
He laughed softly. "Yeah, I know what you meant. I didn't think you would be, either. Which...yeah, not any better," he said and gave her a crooked grin.
