In the land of floods, just south of the mountains, there is a pool of water that seems to be completely void of life. This lake reeks of ink and squid, which will naturally draw the interest of Toso, and has patches of land and seaweed gardens within it. As the group steps to walk on the water, something stirs... just about the center of the water. A voice booms out, reaching the ears of all who are present. "Hmm. It has been just about 8 years since that boy died and set me free as a result. We felt it, all of us, when Kurama was removed from freedom. We were all aware when the damn ankle biter in Sunagakure was captured too. I had hoped to simply hide away... to avoid your trifles. Meretricious as it may be to say I have no intention of simply giving up But as it was... so it is." A single tentacle pushed upwards, far larger than the ones that would be attached to even a Krakken. More and more breached as the water rose and the water was pierced by several horns, an oxen face and body, all the color of maroon. "If it's sealing me you intend... this will not be easy. I'd hope you wish to preserve your lives but coming here tells me you don't care if you live or die. Fine by me, little humans!" And with that, a roar more feral than his previously composed tone released itself. Jay and Jeon both launched first with the woman Anbu who had brought up the rear rocketing forward as well. The Hachibi was eager to meet their advance, watching intently as handseals he had never seen before were made. The woman between the twins tapped their backs, and clasped her hands together as they moved so much faster ahead that ink and water splashed upwards. They rammed their naginata into the tails that Gyuki had swiped, and he was surprised the two of them could match his strength. The Anbu separated fingers, with black and white energy forming a web between them.
The twins pulled away from each other, and the Gyuki made a sound like a tear suddenly there were two overlapping images of the demon, transparent but brimming with energy as they came apart. The arc of the swing put Jay and Jeon's backs to each other, and the lake itself churned as two weaker versions of the Gyuki fought to their feet. Now was the time for everyone to spring into action, as Jay and Jeon stared down the Yin and Yang versions of the Gyuuki, wary but ready to spring forth.
There was always a moment to appreciate art. Well, that was a lie, but right now, Kagerou had a chance and she took it, taking in the scene that unfolded before her as the twins dashed in for their first strike, creating glistening curtains of black oil and clear water in their wake, after having some mysterious technique placed upon them. Their stride and their strikes flowed gracefully, as if they were dancing with each other in perfect sync upon a canvas of black and white. The scene that their bodies painted in brave strokes across the lake's surface was fitting. It seemed tellingly symbolic of the fight to come, as they split the Gyuuki into two opposites of black and white while they stood back-to-back upon a stage where pure and tainted, clear and opaque, the same black and white as the Gyuuki, the opposites of yin and yang mingled and mixed.
Though, she had to admit, perhaps the most interesting part was before all of this happened, when the Gyuuki spoke and drew a sad, regretful smile from Kagerou. He had only meant to live unchained and kept his peace to do so. They, the side Kagerou was on, had been the offenders, but still, the dice had been cast. The fight had started, and to seek a method to keep the Gyuuki free would result in losses on her side. No, even before that. The choice to fight was justified. There would be a fight no matter how one saw it. To do it now, without the concerns of protecting a helpless population or the competition of a third party, was better than the inevitable later. Knowing that she was on the side that had started the fight certainly disturbed Kagerou, but she accepted it without any qualms.
Such appreciation of the moment was, fittingly, finished within a moment. Kagerou started to move no later than the others as she reached out to grab Toso's arm and pull him close. It was time to do as they discussed... whatever it was that they discussed. Look, I wrote this up right after finishing my other post so I'm not even sure if Kagerou even managed to sensibly discuss anything with him while he pined away for his friend-crush, Shadow. At the very least, though, they'd probably agreed to working on their seals adjacent to each other since Kagerou would need to mooch off of Toso's food and all.

~Current Theme Music~:Buoyant Boogie- Splatoon 2 As Kagerou remained in awe Toso sat upon a stump on a dry patch in a rather lackadaisical manner. It seemed the tension of the situation had yet to get to him if at all. He held the same blank expression on his face while Kagerou was enamored and in that time had quietly and in a most reserved manner consumed his portion of the meal...it was despite it overwhelming deliciousness that would make an untrained tongue and first taster of his cooking likely mouthgasm like one of those over the top cooking animes...to him it was bittersweet. Under his breathe where in no-one but himself could hear the utterance of a remorseful "kami-sama..." no bloops attached. In attempt of breaking Kagerou out of her trance a stretched arm holding the remnants of the eight shrimp a half portion of rice, and the sauce meant to compliment the shellfish, a pungent aroma would imply that she needed to eat. All in all Toso was being waaaay to calm about things, or maybe he just had that much faith in the offensive squad. [Base ChakraRegen x6]
"Eat, I'll begin the start of preparations. We'll focus on one seal for now, We can't do anything until the assault group at least weakens the Gyuki and one of the twins offers themselves to be the first...there will likely be one less fighting after that...the ideal outcome is somehow we can seal both simultaneously, but that is the ideal, expect the worst." Toso would turn away looking to the area in which the beginnings of the seal would be prepared, had he found this place under normal circumstances it would certainly have interested him, reminiscent of the ocean and the smell of works in progress. He'd make his move to the shore. The scenery was something to be ogled at another time. Something was different in the man though. Not a single bloop was uttered, yet his face remained the same. If his god was rampaging, if he was a threat, if he desired carnage, mayhaps Toso's speech would have been different, but the Gyuki's attitude, it only served to make him feel the villain.
In a single motion Toso would toss the scroll given to him by Kagerou in the air, all four of his tentacles made themselves present. With their motions the fuuin on the scroll was released as four of the eight iron bars the two of them had in their possession landed like pegs into the ground guided slightly by the tentacles. It would be a notable racket, this wasn't a stealth op, it was the attacking lines duty to defend them so that they may commit the entirety of themselves to the sealing process. "You had trouble with the drawn inscription, I'll handle that, if you can set each rod eight feet apart from each other in a square coinciding with the future edges of the seal that would be ideal." Even Toso's Ah's and almost air headed way of approaching life was missing. His tone was still the same, his face was still the same, externally nothing changed. Kagerou didn't know the man enough to likely draw something was clearly wrong with his sudden shift in speech pattern but maybe her psychological analysis if she made one could see something was off as by now the meal should be finished. Then again it could easily be dismissed as the man being serious for a change.
Then extending his arm to his side open palmed Modoru Gumo would reveal itself in a flash of vibrant light. Toso's arms would stretch as he showed little movement on his own part. A normal person would likely have to move to accommodate the size of the seal but here he was making the large ended circles and intricacies that followed them by simply being in the center of it all. The manner in which his tentacles moved, it was almost mechanical, missing something, as if missing the passion of an artist, there was no joy here as there was when he drew the phallic coral in Kagerou's office.

__ Kenshin arrived with the others in Gyuki's stomping grounds in the Land of Floods. Arashigakure's vicious dog of the law stood to attention before the swamp with his ankles in the water. He heard the demon speak as it rose from the lake and made a show of its titanic size. He then watched as the twins went on the offense and split the mighty Hachibi into two transparent halves. "Such power." The police captain thought as he watched the massive monsters brimming with pure chakra. He formed a hand sign with his right hand in front of his face. "Byakugan!" He focused intensely as he felt his ocular abilities magnify. His pale eyes focused on the monsters and saw the difference in the yin/yang chakra divide. The Ushi-Oni's reserves of chakra were massive and frightened him at that precise moment. "We've faced bigger threats all this time, hiding in our own lands." He trembled before this realization before springing into action.
He formed another single-handed sign as swirling chakra covered his entire body. This chakra formed a powerful Heavenly Armor over his skin that resembled the heavenly spin in a constant form. Kenshin brandished a white rapier mounted to his left hilt with his right hand. The sound of steel moving against the sheath could be heard as he unsheathed the foil and pointed it towards the yang Gyuki. "For the Storm!" The man's voice thundered through the swamp. He jumped high and with incredible speed before thrusting the white rapier and releasing a blast of mountain crushing chakra directly at the yang Hachibi's face mid-air. While Kagerou and Toso prepared their seals Kenshin would focus on his duty in weakening the monsters as much as he could. The immensely powerful wave of chakra fired from the sword's tip would be enough to punch a hole in a mountain. His intended outcome would be to damage that half of the Gyuki while sending it flying backward. This would be the ultimate stress test against the eight-tailed beast on Kenshin's part. Now it was time to see what sort of fight this bijuu would put up.

Shion would follow along with the rest of the team out onto the lake, but would make an obvious effort to leap from land-patch to land-patch, taking extra care to avoid touching the water if at all possible. Her advance took pause as the Gyuki's voice boomed around them; Shion drew her sword, ready to make the first move. What she wasn't ready for, was the monolithic size of the creature. For the first time in a long time, true fear had gripped the young shinobi. Her sword began to shake in her hands and the world slowed around her. Could they even beat this thing? Even with the team they had, how were five or six people supposed to deal with that thing? Her thoughts raced back and forth as the lizard brain battled with reason over what to do. Fight or Flight, which was it going to be? As her inner battle raged, everyone on the outside was already doing their part. Jay and Jeon had split the demon into its two halves and the sealing team was getting everything into place, yet Shion stood rigid. She might have just stood there for the whole fight if it hadn't been for Kenshin's warcry. The resounding should hit Shion with a blast of confidence, knocking her fears aside... at least those of the Gyuki. Shion steadied herself once more with a quick breath, and leaped into the battle. Fight it is.
In almost a stark contrast to her usual outgoing self, Shion's advance was focused and silent save for the sound of her footsteps. In a blindingly quick flash, Shion bolted towards the Gyuki half closest to her team leader, Jeon. Moments before reaching her target, the girl's body would flicker and form into two separate Shions. Side by side, the two would lash out at the demon's smaller form with their blades. Should the Gyuki defend by lashing out at one of the Shions, an attack on the one to the left would be met with little resistance as the mirror image would dissipate.

⦉Good luck when youwake up and realize all that you've lost.xxxxxxxxxxShining lies are what you're made of. I hope it'sworth the price that it costs.⦊ ❝Funny how history ends in an instant, how something so close can end up so distant.❞

[x] I had never been a physical fighter, and while it was something I was working on, I felt like a certain pair of Kages didn't take that into consideration when we decided to leave. I kept up well enough, never falling behind, but combined with exhaustion from lack of proper sleep that I'd hoped I would originally adjust to, I wasn't in a particularly great mood by the time we actually got to the local. Not that it matter because I kept my expression carefully neutral so as not to give away my frustrations.
But I was more or less pissed. Outside of splitting into two groups of three and traveling in a V formation, there was absolutely no communication on what the plan was. I barely even knew what our sealers were going to be doing or where they were going to be placed so that we could keep the fight away from them as they prepared. The carelessness could cost the lives of any one of us. Or all of us. The twins had brought their strongest forces but that meant nothing next to the power of a bijuu. I understood that better than most, since Saiken almost killed me when I first discovered he was sealed within me. So I decided to fall back on a more defensive role, and keep an eye on everyone as best I could, with the focus being on my team, since that was the one I was assigned to. Any complaints I had would have to come later--assuming we all survived. I had a variety of techniques at my disposal, and a whole lake of water to use, to help with defense. And of course my bow to do some damage from afar.
The rest of the group, aside from Toso and Kagerou, stepped onto the still waters and I decided to hang back, shifting my bow from my shoulder an drawing five arrows from my quiver. I held the arrows with the last two fingers of my metal hand, for ease and speed of firing when needed. The arm gave me a tremendous advantage to draw strength, due to it not having the same limitations as my muscles. It was still limited at the shoulder level, of course, but provided little to no effort up until that point.
The water at the center of the lake stirred as the group moved forward, and the voice of the bijuu resounded through the area. The Hachibi mentioned feeling when the Kyubi and one other were sealed, leaving me to wonder if it knew anything about when Saiken was sealed within me so long ago, or if he could sense the Rokubi as his jinchuuriki stood before him. But that was all that it recalled aloud. The earth beneath my feet shook slightly as one massive tentacle after another emerged from the waters, followed by the horns attached to the oxen creature's head. He announced that he had no intention of coming down easily, as could be expected.
I watched as the twin bolted forward, ahead of the group, to counter a strike from Gyuki's limbs while the ANBU that had accompanied us made a series of hand seals. And then the bijuu split in half... sort of. He was separated into two individual beings, containing, I presumed, half of its energy in each half. I found myself mildly shocked, but not nearly as much as the bijuu as the halves struggled back upright. Then with some invisible signal that I apparently missed, the other shinobi with us sprung forward. "Tch..." The frustrated sound escaped me before I could stop it, but given all the noise it was unlikely anyone would even notice.
The pair of sealers started their work off to my side. They were out of harms way for the moment, leaving me able to move away and after Jay and 'Kenshin', the male who had watched me warily before. It was he who attacked first against our half of the Hachibi. After giving a mighty cry, he leaped into the air and brought down a powerful chakra infused blast on the creature. I understood the motivation to start off strong, but he was going to waste all of his chakra if he kept attacking like that.
Though I supposed, to be honest, my intentions weren't much better than that.
There was ink already in the water, and I was half tempted to test if I could use that to my advantage. The only issue was that if the blood in my ink well wasn't enough to take over the dark liquid, the technique could be a waste. Regardless, it could provide a decent distraction at the very least, and force the beast to expend its own energy trying to destroy them. My focus was defense and outlasting my opponents. That meant a lot of what I did was prepared ahead of time. I had a fairly large vial of ink infused with a large amount of my blood to make it more durable, as well as help against its natural weakness to water. Combined with the ability [Ink Flush], I could empty the vial into the lake and create a massive number of creatures to strike the bijuu. Durability would stop them from getting destroyed from a single hit...ideally, and the combination practically negated their weakness to water.
I hated the risk of wasting an entire well of ink. While I had a few more, it still hurt as I removed the vial from my back and uncapped it. I then tipped it upside down, pouring it all into the water before me. Once it was empty, I tucked the empty container away, and then used one handed seals to activate the chakra within it. A multitude of horrific creatures sprung forward from the water toward the Hachibi, looking to claw, bite, and latch onto the creature in anyway they could. And, even better, if my ink managed to take over the ink available in the water, their numbers would increase significantly.
Following this, I focused chakra into my bow, drawing back on the string until my hand was in line with my cheek, and created three arrows on it made purely out of chakra, readying my aim. However, I didn't fire yet, waiting instead to observe what happened next.
[Kerron: It's up to you if he was able to take over the ink in the lake with the technique.]
Techniques Used: • Sumi Nagashi [Ink Flush] - A [Cost: 80] By directly pouring out his ink instead of using it to draw, the user can create a large amount of creatures such as a nest of snakes to attack the target. Should the opponent prove strong enough to break the binds if restrained, they can reform around the target, making struggling pointless. This jutsu strengthens the bonds around the ink creations, negating the natural water weakness while lowering the Suiton weakness to B-ranks. Requires a water source to pour into and create. The creatures are considered as simple--lacking much power--but with more numbers than can be handled through use of drawing upon paper.
Ink infused with: [Durability] Ordinarily, the ink creations are akin to glass cannons, powerful but fragile. With this training, one can infuse their current ink well with more blood than usual, strengthening the defensive capabilities of their jutsu. Not compatible with [ Poisonous Existence ] or Fuuinjutsu [ Sealing Techniques ] abilities, so only one of them may be allowed at a time within the currently used ink well. 'Defensive' refers to not bursting open when hit once, but rather twice, and losing their defectiveness towards same ranked Suiton jutsu (but not natural water).
• Arrow Creation - X :: Spiritual [Draw Strength 90 - B-rank cost - 40 Chakra] [3 arrows created due to Skill: Multitasking training] Description: The user forms an arrow made out of pure Chakra. For training and battle purposes the arrow is treated as Ninjutsu, though it does not take up any Ninjutsu slots. Consumes a minimum D-Rank of Chakra, increasing by one rank per 20 lbs. of draw strength the user has. Arrows so created act like projectile Ninjutsu of their rank.
Landing just outside the lake, Tsuki surveyed the situation with care. The terrain was not with them, which was something she would need to address. However the giants words struck her somewhat. Tsuki as a woman had many traits and things she wished to preserve. Chief among them was her desire for freedom, and the Gyuki's words struck a cord within her. But, she also knew full well that if and when other factions came for the demon she could and would at least be able to ensure it was treated moderately well. However as the twins moved to engage their part of the plan she turned her attention to the area around them and particularly the area which Tosa and Kagero were working on the formula. She knew perfectly well how hard it would be for them to focus with a demon bearing down on them. So her immediate plan was two fold. First alter the equation to provide their shinobi better ease of maneuverability, second provide the sealers cover. Then she could work with the twins to buy herself time to get things up into full swing.
Returning her katana and Valkyrie to their scabbards with a quick flourish she knelt onto the ground. From under the armor plate on her thigh she produced a simple and blank scroll. Unrolling it she bit hard upon her pointer finger, hard enough to cause a trickle of blood to roll forth. Using this as a source of paint she quickly drew upon the scroll the following. (see attached picture below for new terrain) Taking a deep breath she poured a significant amount of chakra into the scroll and watched as her doton chakra seeped through the scroll into the very earth below. Within seconds her work would begin. All around the lake small ten foot wide islands would pop up connected to each other by three foot wide paths of stone. In front of the area the sealers were, would pop up three large, curved, stone walls. Each several feet thick and high enough to provide them cover.
Rising to her feet she nodded and moved quickly to where the young man who she could not place a name on was,"Could you cover me for a few moments please? The works should slow him down a bit but I need time to get the stronger works ready." Raising her voice high she called loudly,"Second battle of Oto!" She hoped they would have the consciousness to remember that the objective of that second battle was not to murder them, but to keep them contained so that the UHV would not break through their lines. With the Gyuki able to speak and the team not setting up proper communications this was the only way to communicate without it knowing. With the sealers nowhere near even close to completing the formula, she needed them to shift their focus from trying to wound it, to trying to keep it contained. If they tried to push it into a proverbial corner this early it would only lead to them tiring themselves out before the really hard part began.
Giving Shadow a light pat on the shoulder she would quickly summon six shadow clones who would go retreat to the location of the sealers where they would then kneel down in an almost repentant prayer like pose and begin to draw in sage chakra. The plan was starting to work and if time could be bought it would work well indeed.
It wasn't that Jeon and Jay didn't understand the want for freedom... no nothing was farther than the truth. Shame... not quite as intense as that actually but something that existed in similarity welled up in them. Everyone's assertions and fears about this being short sighted were correct. It was impulsive, a motley crew gathered on a whim. But in chaos the twins had always thrived. It was why the village of three almost warring states had damn near become a singular culture. People were slow to integrate, especially soldiers, but the spark was there and that was worth protecting. It was worth taking a monster's autonomy because, at the end of the day, at the lightest prodding the Land of Floods would become the site of it's rampaging wrath anyway. Beyond that, this monster, as they saw it, could become a useful too for keeping that spark... that bud of something greater alive.
And besides they weren't entirely without a plan for communication and combat both. Eventually, people would learn to trust in the Monkey King and Ape Queen both.
There was a feeling of emptiness in each half of the Ushi-Oni that left it more than a little distracted for just a few seconds as the assault truly began. Kenshin's attack was the first thing that had stolen the Yang half of the Gyuki's attention, and the demon initially moved to intercept it's attack. Before an attack could land, however, the Gyuki, too, sent an attack at him. Though his fist was strong, the overall force of the Moutnain Crusher wasn't something that could be simply swatted away by the demon. Not at the level of power he had tried to match it with. The demon went flying backwards, it's fist opening as it was flung backwards. The overall attack had been something to behold and the Gyuki ended up crashing into one of the suddenly formed islands. It's focus waned, and through the debris that sprayed up and away from the impact. That pain, that moment of distraction that the Yang had to contend with meant he didn't notice Shadow's attack coming up from the water below. Monsters of ink sank fang and claw into purple flesh, constraining and restricting it's movements. The demon was caught between the ink monsters and the island it had been pinned to, roaring in protest.
"Good on you!" Jay called to Kenshin. He beat his chest with his free hand, giving a nod to the anbu who had done the initial seal. She formed a pair of clones of herself after a set of moderately well practiced seals, and they, alongside herself, formed an Ox seal. For the Yang squad, there would be a sudden connection between all of their minds. At first, it would be jarring, but in the seconds that followed all became clear: the Anbu woman was a Yamanaka. With her precise abilities, she tapped all of them into the sight of the Byakugan seemlessly, her own mind filling in the gaps and covering up the hills that would form roadblocks to mental cohesion. In addition, nothing that the girl figured better to keep from the group (in addition to things that each mind present wouldn't want to share) would be shared.
On the otherside, on the same timeline the Gyuki had decided to, instead of swatting at one of the Shion Clones, to use it's tail to sweep at the girl. To preserve Shion's chance to attack, Jeon moved and deflected the tail upwards to allow Shion an opening as the earth began to rise and morph the battlefield. Though they had indeed landed their attacks, the blades didn't cut extremely deep. At worst, the demon had been bitten by dogs from it's perspective, and though smaller the demon was still a size category or three above her. Jeon lamented that Shion hadn't made much of a dent only because she was in harms way. She buried the feeling, sure teh girl didn't just leap in without a plan as the Gyuki's Yin side focused on the Arashikage. For Tsuki Jeon and Shion, the second Yamanaka clone connected their minds just as described above, only the Byakugan came after they had been blended together. As long as the two clones survived, all of the ninja present (who were not clones) could maintain communications mentally unless they opted out of the connection.
Tsuki and Shadow's reservations about fighting the demon to harm it instead of tire it out would reach everyone. The twins added in that they needed to stay separated so it couldn't focus on one target at once, but to work together. A request: the Yin side needed to be pushed away from the center of the lake so the two demons couldn't work together or recombine. That had been from Jeon. Jay flung a message directly to his sister.
Sage mode? A denial. Not quite yet. So much filtering through the Yamanaka, packaged and processed to each other as if their own thoughts, harmonious. This was why a plan hadn't been needed. Everyone, now, was just as great at improvisation as an Anbu Commander specializing in such. Everyone could see everyone, and everything made of chakra via Kenshin. The fight had gotten off to far good of a start.
That would be rectified.
Gyuki, both halves, welled up chakra that the entire group could see. A heavy amount. Jeon flung herself towards Shion, aiming to grab and leap away with her free hand while a technique formed around herself. Water surrounded them in the seconds before the Yin and Yang both bursted outward with all of the power of... well the Hachibi in a shockwave that sent tidal waves outwards from them, blowing back ink, water and even potentially land. The tsunami of ink, water and pure force would, at worse, crash into the wall defending the sensors and otherwise inconvenience them with it's spiritual pressure. The Water Dragon Whip technique combined with Bursting Water Collision waves to form a solid defense which protected Shion and Jeon but still sent them flying backwards towards the island that was washed over just before they arived, knee deep in water. She smiled at Shion, releasing her before mentally reassuring her that she knew that the girl probably didn't NEED saving, but that she would save her anyway, every time a chance was given.
Kenshin, Tsuki, Shadow, and Jay would each need to find their own way to avoid the wave of destruction coming their way. From her position, Tsuki would also, unfortunately, need to defend herself and her clones if Shadow didn't help.

__ Kenshin watched as the beast attempted to swat away the pure power of the mountain crusher and failed to do so. It was sent back at an alarming speed. He watched in satisfaction as the beast of yang, of chaos, was blasted away by Arashigakure's knight of order. He responded to Jay's praise with a quick two-finger salute. It was then attacked and restrained by Shadow's attack in a powerful combination that kept that half of the Ushi-oni at bay. Kenshin had now landed in the water and sheathed his blade. Suddenly he felt a surge in his own awareness once the Yamanaka shared thoughts between them. His vision remained the same obviously, but there was something more to his cognitive abilities upon a sudden. When the monsters retaliated he could see the powerful wave of all of their might thundering towards them. He formed a hand seal at incredible speed while jumped to coat himself in a second layer of chakra armor, this time composed of powerful lightning. This technique then absorbed the brunt of the attack as he was sent flying backward a considerable distance. The force of the blast destroyed the lightning armor as if it were paper as well as his heavenly armor, but they also did their duty in keeping him completely out of harm and injury. He landed a considerable distance away and had to reconsolidate himself. Kenshin then unsheathed his rapier once more and charged towards the yang half of the Gyuki once more. The police captain was incredibly fast and covered a great distance in little time. He jumped once more and spun his body at a great speed aiming to slice through and sever the left horn in half.

Kagerou looked at the food and, even though she accepted it, looked like she wanted to protest for a moment there. The moment passed, though, and she nodded, not needing an explanation for why this was a good idea. Instead of talking, she filled her mouth with food and... Woah. This stuff was tasty. It was almost as good as her dad's homemade stuff, possibly even better but homemade food was hard to beat. Kagerou was definitely going to stop by Toso's place after this battle.
In the meantime, Tsuki's defenses arose from the earth itself, a double bladed sword for Kagerou. She felt a little unrest within, being unable to see how the others fared, but the ninja in her knew that such worries weren't her problem. She had a job, a very crucial and contained one. It wasn't her place to be worrying about the others, and she was lucky this time. This time, there was Tsuki to worry about the rest. As Tsuki's clones positioned themselves into positions around the two sealers, Kagerou shot them a smile and grateful nod right before they focused on gather their sage energies.
The next few moments passed peacefully enough as Kagerou finished the food. You know, just a bunch of shinobi launching their initial attacks on a giant oxtopus demon on the other side of a gigantic wall.
Kagerou stuffed her mouth with the last of the food just as Toso finished his instructions. She nodded to that and, after politely setting the plate down in one corner of this defensive array, bounded into work. A light smile, one that suited her light movements, kept its cool on her face as Kagerou calmly placed each of the remaining four metal rods, summoning them from the storage seal. Her eyes focused on the seal being painted in front of her, but her ears tuned in to the battle. Again, she couldn't stop worrying.
It was as Kagerou set out the last iron bar, balancing atop it while casually doing the hand-rectangle thing to get a good view of the other three and make sure they were all aligned, that the Yamanaka ANBU connected all of the minds. Her smile grew at this new view that scratched her itch to be able to keep an eye out for everyone in the fight. Though, she did have to refrain from wishing everyone luck through the communication channels. That wasn't quite the appropriate use of it, especially not when everyone fighting for their lives on the other side of the wall was dealing with a super powered shock wave.
Oh, as for her side? Kagerou kept herself to her work. If even Tsuki's defenses weren't enough to deflect the attacks, then she had little in her arsenal that could protect her. What was she going to do about this dilemma? Needlessly freak out over it? Naaah.
Instead, she sent a private message to Toso. "Domo Arigato, Mr. Hojo-to~ Your seal inscriptions are turning out nicely, but... would you like me to take it from here while you take some time to think? To decide what you want to do?". It was, admittedly, out of the blue. Kagerou's red eyes had scanned nothing wrong in the way Toso wrote. In fact, from a professional standpoint, it was the best she'd seen him work, but she had also lived all of her life with a professional who aspired for only the best work. She'd seen this sort of emotionless work before. She'd seen it for as long as she could remember.

The Gyuki's counter attack happened so fast, Shion barely had any time to register what was going on. Attack after attack, each blow the group through at the beast simply seemed to bounce off to little effect. Even in its weakened state, her strongest strikes were doing little more than paper cuts. Her calm and focused demeanor began to waver as frustration filled her. Shion would try not to let it get the better of her, to try and keep her cool and maintain a level head; this would prove to be as effective as her previous blade strikes. Shion's thoughts would race about her potential options of a counter strike, but what could she even do? Swords were useless, jutsu were just reflected... and if the Gyuki could just throw out massive blasts at will, would good would trickery and cunning do? This opponent was something far beyond her, and it frustrated her. She had to rely on another to save her, and it frustrated her. Fine. If that's how it was going to be, then she'd just have to match the Gyuki. After a quick recovery, Shion took off towards the Gyuki in a full sprint as she followed along the pathways that Tsuki had generously supplied the group. As she inched closer, Shion would funnel her Bakuton chakra into her feet, leaping back into the battle with a massive blast propelling her advance. Once again, no words would be spoken, though the group would no doubt be able to get a full sense of the rage building within the girl due to their mental link. Shion gritted her teeth, finally having closed the gap, and began to deliver a vicious onslaught of strikes. Using her newly gained momentum, Shion would first deliver a full-powered punch to the demon's center mass. This would be followed by a volley of wild swings and haymakers. Every ounce of finesse, every bit of cunning and strategy she had shown in her opening gambit would gone, replaced by a series of brutal punches and kicks. Explosions would ring out around the girl, deafening the battlefield and drowning out her warcry. First a punch, then a kick, then another punch, then another... each strike more devastating than the last. As her attack came to a head, Shion would cap it all off with one last strike, stopping short of the Gyuki by a few inches and releasing a massive blast wave from her hand into the beast's side. Let's see you shirk this off, you over-sized b*****d.

~Current Theme Music~:Buoyant Boogie- Splatoon 2 Anyone who tuned into to Toso's inner machinations would find an enigma. A culmination of thoughts as though there were many simultaneously all under some form of moderate to severe static. When Kagerou sent her thanks what she would recieve would be everything but gratitude. "If there are thirteen pots on the kettle and six pots steam the steam then mixes with the pot of the other seven to make a cloud in the shape of a squirrel bloop. The best course of action would be betrayal wouldn't it bloop? That's so impromptu however, what would there be to gain bloop? Three ant hills made, collapse under the weight of five raindrops bloop. Did we leave the sauce pot on bloop? I honestly don't really understand nose-play and inflation but it isn't right to shame someone bloop. Crimson bird dies in the presence of a royal fish bloop. Our penchant for tickling may be connected to feet yes or no, it seems prevalent in our studies bloop? You really have the nerve to say that after how we were treated as children bloop? Could be one of those repressive situations that arise from traumatic experience bloop. Seven whales collide with the mornings waves bloop." None really knew but this inner monologue was how Toso managed his multiple limbs in such a professional manner, it didn't come from simply attributing them something as simple as labeling them as limb one and limb two etc. If none of his personality was shown in front of others then they had to have been somewhere, and it seemed Toso manages they're natural impulses by keeping them occupied with essentially internal banter. Something stood out in there though, something about Betrayal. It would have been disconcerting to say the least.
Kagerou may have noticed, The interjections about animals and what not in between his thinking co-coincided with the strokes of the seal. It seemed it wasn't entirely random. Those thoughts seemed to have aided him when it came to making the shapes of the inscriptions. His was a mind that produced professional results with unprofessional thinking. However amidst this static Toso spoke himself in person as the last wave crashed against the wall of which was protecting them as his brush and arms withdrew in perfect time. "I've completed it, all that's required now is the chakra to activate it when the time comes. We will need to produce another one. But this area, the seal has already taken the majority of this ground. You understand." Toso turned around to face Kagerou looking to one of the newly sprung islands. "You can in turn begin producing the inscription for the key to this seal whilst I try to create another subsequent seal nearby. If that is to your liking...all in all." Listening to the sound of the beasts roars on the other side of the wall. "They've still a ways to go." Toso would close his eyes and relay the following.
"The first seals preparations is complete. Once one of the halves has weakened lead it towards the seal and whomever its to be sealed inside enter the seals center, one of us will handle it from there. I intend to move out to ready the second seal, I may need additional cover." A curious thing to be hearing, perhaps a blessing, perhaps a curse, but there were no bloops in this transmission. Toso would then look momentarily to Kagerou with dead pan eyes suggesting he was about to leave safety. He'd then simply draw a circle of ink. Large enough that if it were a puddle a person could stand in. This would be his fail safe. With this he took of in a sprint towards the next nearest island. However, he would know that this would not go unnoticed. Likewise Toso whilst requesting cover knew that he to was responsible for his own life. and that he to should contribute when he can.
As he ran his tentacles twisted and contorted as they shaped his chakra. Then with a leap into the air heading for the the island right most he'd turn his head at the last second in the direction of the Yang Gyuki. Then expelled from his mouth a large over sized what could be considered scallop came forth about the size of Gyuki's head, its 'mouth' spread wide with the intent to clamp unto said Gyuki's head and implode. "Coquilles St-Jacques!" The intent of the attack was not to inflict harm, but to debilitate. For in this moment the intent was to blind the Gyuki. Toso would then Land on the island, with the intent to begin preparation for the next seal with hopes that the cover requested earlier would be provided if need be.

[x] The blonde haired woman whom had been asked to become an official member of the village stayed behind on land as well, although she took it into her hands to alter the battlefield and provide an easier way to get around via earthen islands that rose from the ground. She then asked for me to cover her while she finished something, to which I nodded and positioned myself in front of her, arrows still drawn, for a better defensive position. That way, anything I threw up as protection would protect her as well. She proceeded to shout something about the 'second battle of Oto', which I had no reference for, only increasing my frustration, but there wasn't really time to think about that.
The sensation and experience of not only someone forcing their way into my mind but also the world lighting up with chakra was disorienting enough to almost make me stagger, and my displeasure was probably felt across the minds connected. Thankfully, the connection came with an explanation--in my opinion a poor excuse--for not having a plan beforehand. Thoughts were faster than actions, sure but it still didn't help my view of the whole situation that we were just going to improvise everything. I carefully kept all of this to myself though.
In fact, I had to still my mind altogether thanks to the bombardment of information and focus more on instinct than on logical thought. Which clashed with the request to shield my companion behind me. I hated the idea of someone being in my head. They had no business with me, or my thoughts. Gritting my teeth, I pulled back slightly harder on the string of my bow and released the prepared arrows, aiming for contact just as the Hachibi's chakra began to build. s**t, something big was coming. I supposed I had to be grateful I could see it building, giving me just enough time to react.
Though to be honest, the reactions I had were poor. It was a waste of chakra. Had I not been providing cover for an ally, moving out of the way would have been much easier, but given the circumstance it wasn't like I had much of a choice. I formed several hand seals with my right hand, slinging the bow over my shoulder with my left, so I could better brace myself. Slamming my palm into the ground, I released my own burst of chakra into it, summoning forth three walls of earth before me, one after another. The closest was the thickest, formed into a half dome to shield the two of us, while the other two were a bit thinner to help soften the blow of the shockwave, still curved to disperse the pressure. As expected, it blasted through the first two, and the third crumbled under the force. I grabbed a hold of my tanto and buried it into the ground, using the short blade as leverage so I wouldn't get thrown backwards into the diligently working woman behind me. The breath was knocked from my lungs but I managed to stay upright, and was back on my feet not a moment later to gather the status of everyone else.
As far as I could tell, everyone had either avoided or withstood the blow. Although because I was defending an ally, I couldn't get away completely unscathed. There was going to be damage later, but nothing I wouldn't survive. Regardless, the only other move I had for the moment was to summon the only puppet I still had after all of this time: Kasai. A quick hand seal brought the massive tiger before me, linking chakra strings to my puppet arm.
Techniques Used: • B-rank unnamed bow attack with B-rank chakra arrows. • Sekkai Suke [Stone Shell] - S [-10 Chakra due to Dramatic Target] Protects an ally or allies with a three sided stone shell, up to 3 can be created at once. This is basically the Army Shield technique only with a wider scope of defense. The user has a diameter of 100 feet. Putting one's hands on the ground, the walls will shoot up, blocking all elemental attacks. Lasts one post. Requires knowing Iwa Guntai Tate [Rock Army Shield]. This is an upgrade of Iwa Guntai Tate and takes the same slot as the A-rank version once learned. Either version can be used for the appropriate version's cost. • Kuchiyose Kugutsu: Ichi - D
While the battle progressed the golden haired woman would continue on with her plan. Though she shivered when the connection was enacted. It felt weird being connected like that. It was hard enough multitasking like this, let alone mentally multitasking with all the new voices, thoughts, feelings, and emotions in there. As the onslaught began she would kneel behind Shadow and form a seal with her left hand lightly pressing against her right which mirrored the seal. Despite all the chaos and confusion going on around the woman she was at peace. Her soul and mind calm. She knew not the man before her, but her trust of him was absolute. After all he would either protect her, or he would not. Worrying about it would not help any. So she would entrust her physical well being to Shadow. With a light breath she would collapse four of her six clones. The remaining two of which, would continue to gather chakra like good little batteries. Breaking the seal her hands were holding, she would lightly place the pointer and middle fingers of both her hands upon her temples. With a soft and fluid swipe she would leave behind two bold black lines. Much akin to warpaint, trailing from her temple, across her cheek and brow, and finally meeting upon the bridge of her nose.
Rising to her feet she patted the man on the back,"Ready." With that she would bite hard on both of her thumbs, tracing the blood down the inside of both of her arms, out to her palms. From there she would quickly flash a pair of seals. The result, was instantly evident in the form of ten large red tori gates appearing over the demons and rocketing forth towards the ground, five each, and hoping to pin the head, and four of the eight tails of each beast. Without waiting any time she cultivated more of her chakra causing it to stream lightly from her body licking the air with the scent of vanilla.
Taking a knee she flashed another set of seals and placed her fingers quite literally into the dirt under her. Again the effect would be almost instantly made known. Several dozen hands of wood, each almost the size of the demon itself, would seek out limbs, tails, heads, of the pair of demons. While she did not like to use jutsu as large and flashy as this, she knew full well that the situation called for such. Without taking her eyes off of the demon she spoke softly to Shadow,"Do you need healing?" As she spoke her right hand was rife with soft silver light, ready to tend to any wounds she would need to.
Senpō: Myōjinmon [ Sage Art: Gate of the Great God ] Rank: S (overwhelming) Official Description: The sealing technique which is used in Sage Mode, the user manifests a select number of massive red torii that fall down from above, in order to pin an intended target between the gate and the ground. The size and strength of these torii is such that they can even be used to immobilize the Ten-Tails. These torii are quite versatile and can be used in several different ways, this was displayed after Obito Uchiha became the beast's jinchūriki, Hashirama piled the torii atop one another in an attempt to increase their ability to immobilize the target. The exact number and size of the torii involved in this technique can vary dependent upon what the user specifies: ◾Seal Ten (封十, Fūtō; Viz Ten Seals): Creates ten torii that can be used to pin several individual targets simultaneously. ◾Seal Head (封頭, Fūtō; Viz Head Seal): Creates a single, large torii, intended to pin the target's neck beneath it, so as to immobilize their head. Guild Description: See official description.
Mokuton: Hotei no Jutsu [ Wood Style: Laughing Buddha Jutsu ] Rank S (overwhelming) After performing the required hand seals, the user creates a number of gigantic wooden hands that erupt upward from beneath the ground, which encircle and then attempt to restrain a chosen enemy. The size of each of these hands is around the size of a tailed beast. ( Must be in Sage Mode to use )
The Yamanaka could sift through the information that was coming in and determine what was going to be important and what could be blocked out with surprisingly high efficiency. It was almost just as efficient as the ease and comfort with which the sensory information coming to everyone could be processed by their own minds. This, however, did not exclude some from feeling entirely uncomfortable with it, and as such Shadow's extreme discomfort would be answered by a slow fade out, leading to a gentle disconnect over the course of a few seconds from the group. The order would have come from the twins sensing that he was having particular difficulty dealing with it directly to them and as such Shadow's worldview would return to normal. Toso's ramblings, too, would be almost entirely muted from everyone until a message from him came about that wasn't needlessly distracting pratter, by which time everyone else would be in motion as well.
The Yin side of the Gyuki began to gather chakra in it's gullet for a jutsu of some sort, clasping it's hands together to form a set of handseals only to be interrupted by Jeon making a hasty appearance at base of it's body and kick up in a rising slash with the business end of her polearm. The motion was distracting enough that the demon was unable to finish the lightning style ninjutsu being prepped. Jeon was wary, kicking back from it's hands but honestly surprised to see that the demon hadn't swiped at her with it's tails or even tried to grab at her. This was followed up by an onslaught the likes of which Jeon hadn't known Shion was capable of buffetting the demon side to side, back to back as if it were a ragdoll... a heavy one. Her attack was more than enough before the final hit to keep the yin side of the demon from forming a solid attack before Tsuki's gates fell upon the demon's body. Through the mental link Jeon fired off a command that would mute out the others. "Tsuki! Drag the Yin demon closer to the seal! It's been incapacitated!" With that, any who looked would see that demon was in dire straights, laidout against the island with it's body held taught by everything.
On the otherside of the battlefield the Yang was frustrated to say the least. The demon wasn't caught unawares by the Hyuuga's advance and was prepared for it, but found he too was held at bay by one of the twins. Jay whacked away all three of the tails moving to meet Kenshin, with a spin of his staff, clearing a path as the police officer made his attack while at the same time the arrows fired served to hit with just enough force that the demon wasn't even able to put his hand up in enough time. Pure rage came over the demon as it's body was no longer whole. It's horn flew into the air, imbedding in the wall-like mountains incasing their arena. Jay then cleared the space as Tsuki attempted to restrain the demon. Unlike the Yin half, it's twin put up a much greater fight. Though the gates did fall, the hands of wood would find the yang side's tails were strong and fierce, breaking away from the wood with a power that Jay didn't realize it could muster. Even with the Ink on it's face the Gyuki managed to keep itself from being held for more than a few seconds as the now freed tails winded up and then twisted outwards destroying the gates, the island behind it, churning the waters and threatening both Jay and Kenshin as well. ((Bijuu Hachimaki [ Tailed Beast Eight Twists ] Rank: S Description: Gyuuki coils his tails around himself before extending them with an enormous amount of physical strength. This causes him to spin rapidly, resulting in the generation of tremendous gusts of wind that buffet everything in the surrounding area. This technique is powerful enough to level the terrain within a large range of the Eight-Tails. Requires Gyuki be manifested fully.
Threatening Kenshin, Jay, and Toso. Formless Tail attacks freed the demon from the Laughing Buddah however. Assume the big twist was paid for with stamina, for those who now can see chakra.))
