Name: Euryale
Age: 45
Sex: Female
Sexual Orientation: A'star only, thank you
Weyr: Western Weyr
Rider Rank: Wingrider
Previous Rank/Craft: -
Physical Description: Tall and thick, Euryale is every bit as daunting as her flaming red hair would have you believe she is. Olive skinned and kissed with freckles, she stands muscled and proud. Her hair is curly at times and often unkempt, as she doesn't care much of keeping it neat or tidy, and it's starting to gray at her roots. Curvy and busty, she has a tattoo on her right arm of vines intertwining, representing herself, her husband, their dragons, and their children. She plans on adding more, eventually.
Personality: Euryale is a tour de force, made of spit and vinegar and the gumption to back it up. A scrapper who has fought against destiny from the literal day she was born, she won't stand for whatever is handed to her or whatever is expected of her. The status-quo is only acceptable when it's what keeps people alive or benefits everyone - not solely personal gain - and should someone try to take advantage of others they're met with the unstoppable force that is the red-head.
Towards family and friends, the red-head is a steadfast individual who can not be detoured from her course. Loyal to the point she'd take a hit in the place of someone she believes in, and loving to the point she'd forgive almost any sin, to have her as an ally is to have someone in your corner for life. That isn't to say she won't punish those who need it, as problems need to be corrected before they spiral out of control, but otherwise she won't let anyone be talked poorly about while she's around unless someone is looking for a fight.
And oh, how she loves to fight! Euryale knows her way around a brawl or two, having lived with her fists (in her poor husband's face, usually) from her youth. She knows what she wants and how to get it, even if it means rubbing people the wrong way and just ignoring the rules. Thankfully she's not without reason and can be calmed down when she gets going to far, though it may take one or two people to actually get her to stop. (One to get the other person to safety, and the second to find her husband). Still, it's best not to push her too far in either direction, as she tends to be extreme from the start to finish.
Speaking of husband, Euryale is head over heals for her family and have no problem telling the entire world just show much so. Constantly bragging, constantly sharing, whomever happens to be unlucky enough to be caught when she's in a mood (which is always) had better brace themselves for the talk of a lifetime over how much her family means to her. Her pride in all of her children, her husband, and their dragons is evident, but sometimes she can go a bit too far and talk entirely too long.
This, of course, leads to being quite obnoxious. Always more than happy, even from her youth, to tell people how she felt and what she thought, Euryale doesn't hesitate to just let it all out. From stories of injuries as a child, to maybe eating something that didn't agree with her, she'll tell it all to anyone who is unlucky enough to listen. It can make being around her exhausting, or leave people wanting some sort of conversation that doesn't involve Euryale's personal life. No one
needs hear about her kids and husband 24/7, least of all when she'd told the stories many times before. It be even better if she didn't try to talk over people about it, or even seek them out for the most minute of updates. Sometimes personal things need to be kept personal, you know?
Positive Trait List Dynamic, loyal, loving
Negative Trait List Aggressive, defiant, garrulous
History: Born to an escaped slave out of Nabol, Euryale came into the world on the exact same day her mother left, more or less. Raised alone by Yalem to the best of his abilities, she was less than a few hours old when her father got the idea to marry her off to the son of his absolute best friend. A son who, as surprise and fate and destiny would have it, happened to be born on the same day at near the same time. The children were to be raised together with takes of marriage a near daily occurance - not only would it unite the best dad friends as family, but it would help link their businesses together to provide a more stable future for everyone.
It wasn't until Euryale was old enough to understand what was going on that talks of arranged marriage suddenly started to make more sense, and it was from then on that the little red-head decided that fate could take a massive hike. Turns passed with her outright refusing to be a pawn in any plan, even if it was for the sake of her father or the fact that it wasn't even remotely a bad idea; she simply wasn't going to be married off to some kid who was clearly inferior to her. She was tough and outgoing and could hold her own in a fight while Arystar? He looked like he could be snapped in half by the nearest infant, an incident that Euryale nearly caused every time her fist met his face. He didn't give as nearly as good as he got, at least in terms of physical prowess, but boy did he make her feel inferior in other ways.
As the Turns passed and the "day of destiny" (as Yalem happily loved calling it) approached, Euryale found herself looking for any and all ways out. She wasn't about to
abandon her family, seeing as she loved her dad to pieces (and Arystar's folks were pretty nice too), but she wasn't about to be tied down to someone who
still made her a little angry every time he happened by, even if he was taller than her now. And maybe a bit attractive. Her way out came when she was 22 Turns, just shortly before wedding plans really became active. A searchrider offered to take her to Western to stand for one of the clutches, and she quite literally jumped at the chance.
Her arrival was met with eagerness and surprise at life outside of the Jeweler/Gemcutting craft she'd always known, and she was excited to start Candidacy....until she saw him. Apparently Arystar had decided to take the offer too, likely copying her (not really) for a chance at freedom, and she? Euryale was not having it. Many fights quickly followed after that day, with Euryale almost always getting the upper hand and being punished for her actions. She was forced to stand away during nearly everything, and as time passed and no dragon came her way she was starting to worry if she was ever going to have her way out.
Everything changed when a clutch arrived carring rather large eggs, one of which called to her...and apparently, Arystar. Both had their hands on the shell, both swore the dragonet inside was theirs, but only one walked away with a black eye and the other was pulled off with threats of not being allowed to stand. Thankfully she minded her manners, not wanting to endure another lecture or two over her actions, and the day of hatching proved to be eventful. The massive egg she'd felt connected to hatched proudly, spilling out -two- dragonets instead of one. Lovely greens in their right, the paler of the two looked over at Euryale while the darker?
One could only say it was a cruel streak of fate that the darker of the two Impressed to her mortal enemy, Arystar, but there was no changing things. Her Theath never wanted to be apart from her sister, and there was no way a dragon could be pulled from their rider. Relenting, and swearing a truce for as long as she could, the new rider Euryale tried to adapt to life where an eternity with Arystar (now A'star) seemed inevitable.
She needn't have worried too much, for the time she spent with Theath somehow made the time with A'star....less horrible. The bond her dragon shared with her eggmate lead to shared feelings all across the board, giving the young rider a chance to see the A'star she never really knew, and showing him a side of her she'd never dared to show. Nothing was private anymore, and despite just how long Euryale had known him, she was surprised to find that he was basically a stranger in everything but the word. Time would change that, as would patience and age, and eventually?
Love.
Love came faster than anyone would have liked to admit, and despite her Turns of trying to fight against the Master Plan, Euryale found herself back at her home, her hand in A'star's as she declared her undying love for him. That inevitable fate seemed less like a curse now, far more a blessing, and as their family (and dragons) watched on she wed the man she once enjoyed making cry. It had taken a long time to get there, but it was worth it.
Euryale has recently given birth to the couple's sixth child, a healthy baby nicknamed Nugget. A little over a month old, it joins them in a family full of love, devotion, and maybe a little bit of friendly banter on the side.
Other: Married to Pach's A'star!
DRAGON
Name: Theath
Age: 20
Color: Green
Size: 25'
Physical Description: Identical in size but noticeably much paler than her sister, Theath would be the light to her sister's shadow. She is nearly perfect in proportion, though if not careful she tends to gather awful bruises that take a while to heal; She bleeds fairly easily from even the slightest wound.
Personality: Soft spoken and polite with a hint of quiet gentleness, Theath is content to sit silently at her sister's side and support where needed. She has her own opinions and her own thoughts, though many of them are clearly colored by what Miryath seems to feel; when she does decide to speak her mind it is wise if others listen.
While respectful and loving towards humans and other dragons, Theath cannot help but occasionally wonder if others actually love her or simply view her as "just a green" that can fight for Pern. Her doubts do not cloud her devotion for others, as she will always care for them despite their feelings towards her, but sometimes she will feel inklings of unease over whether or not the feelings are returned in mutual kind.
She clearly understands that her sister and her rider (and perhaps, her rider's family) have her best interests at heart, though acts of kindness from others are often treated with confusion. She is just another green another all, nothing special from the day she hatched to the day she goes
Between, and yet....perhaps there is a reason for her to be here. Theath will serve without question for those who need her.
Dragon Art or Proof of Obtainment: Clever Girl!
